Jeanette A. Barker
Devoted mother who enjoyed her family

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Jeanette A. (Roberts) Barker, 83 of Miranna Street, Brooksville, formerly of Center Ossipee, N.H. and Peabody, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville.
Born May 2, 1917, and educated in Chelsea, Mass., she was the daughter of Albert and Jenney Roberts.
Before retiring, she worked at Sylvania, Loring Avenue location, in Salem for 17 years.
She was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the wife of Donald Barker with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Polly Barker of Montpelier, Vt. and Richard and Christine Barker of Lynn, Mass.; a daughter and her companion, Brenda Murphy and John Hatcher of Rowley, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Philip Kelley
Loved music and inventing things

DUNELLON, Fla. - Philip Henry Kelley, 94, of Dunellon, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 18, at his daughter’s home in Dunnellon.
He was born Oct. 6, 1906, in Franklin, N.H., son of Frederick and Mary (Seaber) Kelley.
In 1930 he married Marion Merrow of Center Ossipee. N.H., and moved to Greenfield, Mass., where he worked as a foreman, building and maintaining electric power lines.
He eventually moved back to New Hampshire, where he worked as a caretaker for the Daniel Webster Birthplace in Salisbury for four years.
In the early 1960s he purchased property in Dunellon and retired there, dividing his time between Florida and New Hampshire.
He loved music and composed numerous songs for his children and grandchildren.
He also loved to invent things, working on many plans and projects at his Dunellon workshop.
Family members include his children, Janice Johnson of Union, Priscilla Montgomery of Dunellon, Fla., Marilyn Haney of Center Ossipee and Beverly Hills, Fla., Ralph Kelley of Center Ossipee, and Gail Montgomery of Van Buren, Maine; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; two brothers, Allen Kelley of Greenfield, Mass., and James Kelley of Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers Howard, Horace, Richard, Ezra, Arnold and Robert Kelley, and by his sister, Marion Morton.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 3, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Dunellon.
A graveside service will also be held in the spring in Franklin.

Edith C. ‘Gram’ Bickford
Enjoyed reading, knitting and caring for people

WOLFEBORO - Edith Christine “Gram” Bickford, 87, of Clipper Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Sunbridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Wolfeboro after a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 3, 1913, in West Ossipee, daughter of William and Mabel (Shultz) Brown.
She had lived in Wolfeboro for most of her life. She worked as a nurse’s aide for Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, from which she later retired. She was also one of the first residents to occupy the Ledges in Wolfeboro, where she resided for 16 years.
She loved to read and knit along with taking care of people.
She was the widow of Newel H. Bickford, who died in 1968.
Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Alfred and Carla Bickford of Barnstead; her daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Harold Hersey of Wolfeboro, Joan and Gordon Kimball of Wolfeboro and Nancy and Bruce Green of Jackson, Mich.; and 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, Newel H. Bickford, Jr., in 1995.
There were no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Wolfeboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carroll County Health and Home Care, Ossipee, or to the charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro.

Frances I. Twombley
Mother, housewife, former Wakefield Town Clerk

SANBORNVILLE - Frances I. (Derby) Twombley, 87, of Old Stage Road, died suddenly at home, Monday morning, Feb. 26, 2001.
She was born March 26, 1913, in Barnstead, daughter of Charles and Sylvia (Cook) Derby. She had lived in Sanbornville since 1933, having previously resided in Farmington and graduating from Farmington High School, Class of 1931.
A loving housewife and mother, she was a bus driver for the Wakefield School District for 10 years. Prior to retiring in 1989, she had served as Wakefield Town Clerk for almost 20 years.
She was a member of First Congregational Church of Wakefield for 50 years, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.
She was a 50-year member of Lovell-Union Grange of Wakefield, of which she was a past master and former secretary. She was also a member of the National Grange, a charter member of the Wakefield-Brookfield Historical Society, and a member of the New Hampshire Farm Museum.
Family members include her husband of 67 years, William J. Twombley of Sanbornville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Christine Twombley of Nashua, Paul and Janet Twombley of Melrose, Mass., Phillip and Connie Twombley of Sanbornville and Lawrence and Joanne Twombley of Sanbornville; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Smith and Mildred Perron, both of Rochester; two brothers, Richard Derby of Farmington and William Derby of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service is today, March 1, at 2 p.m. at First Congregational Church of Wakefield with the Rev. John Tamilio, III, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Lovell Lake Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lovell-Union Grange c/o Vivian Chick, Route 153, East Wakefield, NH 03830.
Arrangements are in the care of C.E. Peaslee and Son Funeral Home, Sanbornville.

Helen Morgan
Former longtime resident of Rhode Island

WOLFEBORO - Helen (Mathie) Morgan, 91, of Sunbridge of Wolfeboro, died at Huggins Hospital, Tuesday, March 28, 2001.
She was born Sept. 9, 1909, in Worcester, Mass., daughter of William and Helen (Walker) Mathie. She had lived in Pawtucket, R.I., for many years before moving to Seekonk, Mass., where she had lived for 30 years.
Later, she moved to Rumford, R.I. She was employed as a receptionist for the law firm of Edwards and Angell in Providence, R.I., for many years. She was a member of Newman Congregational Church in Rumford, R.I.
She was the widow of William Morgan.
Family members include her daughter, Barbara McClure of Tuftonboro; two grandsons and a granddaughter; three great granddaughters and three great grandsons; and a sister, Grace Scullian of East Providence, R.I. She was predeceased by her brothers, William James and Gavin Mathie.
A graveside service was held April 2 at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, R.I., followed by a memorial service in Newman Congregational Church Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the Newman Scholarship Fund, PO Box 4764, Rumford, RI 02916.
Lord Funeral Home, Wolfeboro, was in charge of arrangements.

Andre ‘Andy’ Perron
A 50-year resident of Swamscott, Mass

CENTER OSSIPEE - Andre “Andy” Perron, 87, of Leavitt Road, Center Ossipee died March 28, 2001 at the home of his son in New Durham.
He was born May 23, 1913 in Swampscott, Mass., son of Thomas and Sofie (Rosendahl) Perron. He lived in Swampscott for 50 years, moved to Danvers, Mass., where he resided for 12 years and, upon retirement, relocated to Center Ossipee.
Mr. Perron was a heat treater for United Shoe Machinery Corp. in Beverly, Mass., for 37 years and was a member of their quarter century club.
Family members include one son, Thomas Perron and his wife, Alice, of New Durham; two daughters, Beverly Palmquist and her husband, Bill, of Danvers, Mass., and Janet Stevenson and her husband, Bob, of Chula Vista, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Greta Lothmann of Vero Beach, Florida; and one nephew, Skipper, of Florida. He was predeceased by his first wife, Priscilla “Betty” (Hussey) Perron and second wife Leta (Anderson) Perron.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.

M. Kathleen Sanborn
Communicant of St. Cecilia Church

WOLFEBORO - M. Kathleen Sanborn, 89, of Wolfeboro, died March 31, 2001, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.
She was born Oct. 18, 1911, in Milton, daughter of Jerome and Mary (Mahoney) Regan. She lived in Wolfeboro from 1933 until late last year, when she moved to the Wadleigh House in Dover.
She was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church in Wolfeboro.
She was predeceased by her husband, Norris “Cy” Sanborn, and a son, James R. Sanborn.
Family members include a daughter, Margaret Ann Flanagan of Dover; a son, Ansel N. Sanborn of North Chichester three grandsons and two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 4. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.
