Richard Drew

EXETER - Richard F. Drew, 65, of 50 Brookside Drive, formerly of Kensington, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at Exeter Hospital.

Born Jan. 14, 1935, in Amesbury, Mass., he was the son of the late Warren G. and Malvina B. (Joburt) Drew.

He was one of 15 children, raised in Amesbury, and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1952. He lived in Kensington for many years.

A mason, he owned Drew Construction Co.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict.

He served on the Kensington School Board for 31 years and was recognized by former Gov. John Sununu for service to the town. He also served on the joint school board for School Administrative Unit 16. A member of the American Legion Post No. 105 of Kensington, he helped in the construction of its new building.

The playground at Kensington Elementary School was dedicated to him for his many years of service to the school.

He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Family members include his wife of 45 years, Joan B. (Kinney) Drew of Exeter; one son, David A. Drew of Newton; three daughters, Kathy A. Drew of New York City, Wendy E. Lawler of Kensington, and Laurie E. Fortier of Carneys Point, N.J.; six grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Chaisson of Seabrook; and several nieces and nephews.

DREW - Richard F. Drew, of 50 Brookside Drive, Exeter, died Nov. 19, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Kensington Congregational Church, 128 Amesbury Road, Kensington. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Kensington. The family requests no visiting hours and that flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to the Kensington Elementary School Children's Fund, c/o S.A.U. 16, 24 Front St., Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.

Annie Naomi Ramsdell

PORTSMOUTH - Annie Naomi Ramsdell, 84, of 11 Coakley Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at her residence after a period of failing health.

Born Sept. 12, 1916, in Chelsea, Mass., she was the daughter of Fielding and Emily (Rowe) Taylor.

She was a resident of Barrington for 53 years.

A member of the Barrington Evangelical Free Church, she served in various positions and offices of the church.

She was a past member of the Barrington Garden Club and the Barrington Women's Club.

She was employed in the finance department at the University of New Hampshire for 21 years, retiring in 1977.

The widow of Frederick M. Ramsdell, who died in 1997, she is survived by three daughters, Virginia Bishop of Portsmouth, Marcia Bunten of Ludlow, Mass., and Sandra Fox of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Harold Taylor of Madbury and Robert Taylor of Florida; two sisters, Pauline Swan of Barrington and Ina Barnaby of Hampton; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Swenson, and a sister, Ruth Rowell.

RAMSDELL - Annie Naomi Ramsdell, 84, of 11 Coakley Road, Portsmouth, died Nov. 21, 2000. Friends and relatives may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Purdy Memorial Chapel, Route 4, 2 Concord Road, Lee. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Barrington Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Daniel Huggard officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Barrington. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Barrington Evangelical Free Church, 72 Route 126, Barrington, NH 03825.

Faith N. Pence

DEERFIELD - Faith N. Pence, 71, of 79 Griffin Road, died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Exeter Hospital, following a long illness.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1929, in Danvers, Mass., the daughter of the late Takaji and Francis (White) Matsubara. In the 1980s she was the assistant cook for the Deerfield School.

Family members include her husband of 51 years, John W. Pence; three sons, Nicholas F. Pence of Phoenix, Peter John Pence of Northfield, and N. Kelly Pence of Nottingham; one daughter, Bonnie Louise Pence of Bristol; five grandchildren; four brothers, Alden Matsubara of Winter Springs, Fla., Murray Matsubara of Beverly, Mass., Raymon Matsubara of Stockton Springs, Maine, and Paul Matsubara of Conway; two sisters, Eiko Thurlow of Salisbury, Mass., and Gail Wong of Topsfield, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

PENCE - Faith N. Pence, of Deerfield, died Nov. 22, 2000. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seacoast Home Health and Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Joseph R. Grady

ROCHESTER - Joseph R. Grady, 60, of 3 Crosswind Lane died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born March 4, 1940, in Kittery, Maine, he was the son of the late Patrick and Marion (Bate) Grady.

He was a medical technologist with Path Lab for many years and was a retired chief petty officer of the U.S. Naval Reserve.

Members of his family include his wife of 35 years, Audry (Jacobs) Grady of Rochester; a daughter, Kimberley Gilmore and her husband, David, of Milton; a son, Kevin Grady and his wife, Rebecca, of Kingston; a grandson, Scott Gilmore of Milton; a granddaughter, Hannah Grady of Kingston; a brother, Dennis Grady of Boston; a half-brother, Harold Sharp of Kittery; a sister, Rosalie Ilacqua of Stoughton, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his son, Garon Grady, in 1987.

GRADY - Joseph R. Grady, 60, of 3 Crosswind Lane, Rochester, died Nov. 22, 2000. Family and friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 S. Main St., Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Rochester Cemetery following the service.

Ronald K. Andrews

YORK, Maine - Ronald K. Andrews, 59, of Scotland Bridge Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, surrounded by family at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born May 7, 1941, in Waterford, the son of Herbert L. and Leona (Tracy) Andrews. After attending Waterford Memorial Grammar School, he graduated from Goodwill School in Hinckley, and from the Woodrow Wilson Business College in Virginia.

He had worked at Pioneer Plastics in Sanford and Auburn for five years. He was employed by Moore Business Forms and Equipment in Dover, N.H., for 35 years, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of the Word of God Fellowship Church in Brunswick. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and cooking. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Naomi, who died at birth.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Eleanor (Lewis) Andrews, of York; two sons, Malcolm David Andrews and his wife, Carole, and Christopher Leroy Andrews and his wife, Pauline, all of York; his parents, Herbert and Leona Andrews of Waterford and Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Richard A. Andrews of Sanford; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

ANDREWS - Ronald K. Andrews, of Scotland Bridge Road, York, Maine, died Nov. 22, 2000, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Church at Spruce Creek, Wilson Road (Route 101), Kittery, Maine. Interment will be in First Parish Cemetery, York. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 495 Old Conn. Path, Suite 220, Framingham, MA 01701.

Dana Fletcher

KITTERY, Maine - A funeral service was held Tuesday at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, for Dana Fletcher, 46, of 3 Hamilton Lane in Eliot, who died Sunday at his home.

The Rev. Dr. David Avery of the First Congregational Church in Eliot was the officiant. Burial continued at Brooks Memorial Park in Eliot with a committal service conducted by the Rev. Avery. Pallbearers were John McIntire, Brian Hinkle, Ronald Stephens, Tony Santos, Edward Tondreys and Mitchell Lunden. Mark Goulet was an honorary pallbearer.

Family and friends were invited to a time of sharing and remembrance at the parish hall of the church. Arrangements were by the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

Ross F. Pollard

STRATHAM - Ross F. Pollard, 79, of 24 Brookside Drive, formerly of Amesbury, Mass., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He was the husband of Corinne R. (LeBlanc) Pollard and the late Mary M. (Leaver) Pollard.

Born in Newburyport, Mass., on Dec. 7, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Marion F. (Roaf) Pollard and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1938.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a night squadron leader with the fighter pilots of the U.S. Navy.

A talented craftsman, he worked as a designer for the former Towle Silversmiths of Newburyport, Mass., retiring in 1984.

In addition to his wife, Corinne, of Stratham, he is survived by one daughter, Mary J. Smith, and her husband, Mitchell, of Amesbury, Mass.; two sons, Duncan Charles Pollard of Boston and Ross J. Pollard and his wife, Lynne, of Welchs, Ore.; one sister, Marion Mutch of Newbury; three stepsons, Ronald E. Ouellet of Kensington, Marc A. Ouellet of Kittery, Maine, and James M. Ouellet of Exeter; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gage Pollard, and a brother, Edwin "Spud" Pollard.
