George Manna

CONWAY - George Manna, 57, of Conway, died Dec. 23, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Melrose, Mass., on Sept. 14, 1943, and lived most of his life in Lynn, Mass. He was a teacher of math and science in Lynnfield, Mass., for 29 years, before retiring to devote full time to his vocation as accomplished outdoor sports photographer and writer, with his wife, Judy.
His hobbies included piloting small planes, winter hiking and nature photography. He had a wide circle of friends. He leaves his wife of 23 years, Judy Stantial Manna.
Visiting hours will be today (Thursday) at Solimine, Landergun & Rodes Funeral Home, 429 Broadway, Lynn, Mass. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Friday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m.

Dorothy T. Doherty

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - Dorothy T. Doherty, 84, of Weymouth, Mass., formerly of Braintree, Mass., died Dec. 18, 2000.
Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Willard H. F. Doherty. She was the mother of John C. Narcotta of Bridgewater, Mass., Jeffrey M. Narcotta of Abington, Mass., Willard H.F. Doherty Jr. of Quincy, Mass., Michael P. Doherty of Newton, Mass., Jeanne M. Narcotta of Quincy, Mass., Sandy Kelly of Fryeburg, Maine, and Nancy D. Knowlton of Dorchester, Mass.; aunt of Ellen Willard of Humarock, Mass.; and great aunt of Jessica Hunt of Cambridge, Mass., and Luke McKinnon of Cambridge, Mass. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass was celebrated on Friday, Dec. 22, in the Immaculate Conception Church on Broad Street in East Weymouth, Mass. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the South Shore VNA Association, P.O. Box 9060, Braintree, Mass. 02184, or Alliance for the Mentally Ill, 400 West Cummings Park, Woburn, Mass. 01801.

Capt. Justin Mark Salyards

Retired Navy Capt. Justin Mark Salyards, 85, of Pass Christian, Miss., and Conway, NH, died Dec. 25, 2000, in Pass Christian.
A native of New Albany, Ind., he was retired from the Naval Reserve. He served in World War II and the Korean War aboard minesweepers in the Atlantic and Pacific campaigns.
He was a graduate of Indiana University, Dartmouth College Naval Institute and the University of Utah Law School. He retired from the General Electric Company in 1973 and was active in recreational real estate sales on the Gulf Coast for many years.
Capt. Salyards was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Salyards; parents Jules V. and Florine Young Salyards; and a brother, Manly Salyards.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Rouse Salyards, of Pass Christian; two sons, Gregory Salyards, of Washington D.C., and Timothy Salyards, of Biloxi, Miss.; a sister, Jeanne Park, of Florida; two stepsons, Keith Rouse, of Gulfport, and Ken Rouse, of Biloxi, Miss.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
There will be a private burial at a later date.

Marion S. Landers
Marion S. Landers, 75, died Dec. 20, 2000, at hr home in Clifton Park, NY, after a long illness.
Born in East Orange, Vt., the daughter of George and Bertha (Parrish) Sumner, she had lived in Clifton Park for the past 15 years and had wintered in Lady Lake, Fla.
Mrs. Landers graduated from the New England School of Theology and the Exeter School of Nursing. She had been employed as a nurse in Haverhill, Mass., Exeter, Lancaster and North Conway. She also worked for the Shenendehowa Senior Citizens in Clifton park in the early 1990s.
She was a member of the Grange in New Hampshire, a member of the Socialites, and, as a pastor's wife, she was very active in the Methodist churches where they served. For the past 15 years, she had been very active in the Jonesville United Methodist Church.
The family includes two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth "Judith" Williams of Conway, and Mrs. Stanley "Natalie" Maxwell of Clifton Park, NY; three grandchildren, Christopher Williams and Ashley Williams, both of Conway, and Jared Maxwell, of Clifton Park, NY; a brother, George Sumner Jr., of Enosburg Falls, Vt.; and a long-time friend, George Tolhurst.
Her husband, Rev. Samuel Landers, predeceased her in 1984.
Funeral services ere held Saturday at the Jonesville (NY) United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Conway Village Cemetery later in the spring.
Donations may be sent to the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Care Services of Northern Carroll County, P.O. Box 432, North Conway, NH 03860-0432.
The Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway is in charge of arrangements.

Mary W. Keith

MADISON - Mary W. Keith, 86, of Madison, died on Dec. 22, 2000, at her home, following a period of failing health.
She was born in Groveton and was the daughter of Moses and Lily (Parker) Whitney.
Mrs. Keith grew up in North Stratford, lived in Boston in the early 1940s, and moved to Silver Lake in 1945. She was a member of the Madison Church.
The family includes three sons, Richard D. Keith of Kettering, Ohio, Edwin W. Keith III of Fairbanks, AK, and Robert W. Keith of Forrestville, Calif.; one daughter, Mary J. (Keith) Hull of Fryeburg; nine grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Keith's husband, Edwin W. Keith Jr., predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Church, with the Rev. Sean Dunker-Bendigo officiating. Burial will be in the Gilman Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be on today (Tuesday) from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

Donald G. Deblois

CONWAY - Donald G. Deblois, 60, of Conway, died Dec. 24, 2000, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland following a long illness.
Born in Berlin, the son of Alphonse and Germaine (Roy) Deblois, he moved to Conway in 1972.
He graduated from the former Notre Dame High School in Berlin in 1959.
He was very active in scouting and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Mr. Deblois worked for the Berlin Reporter for 14 years, and he was the owner/publisher of the former Reporter Press in North Conway from 1972 to 1980.
He was a member of the New England Press Association and had been a member of the Mount Washington Lions Club.
The family includes his wife of 40 years, Olive (Therrien) Deblois, of Conway; two sons, Dennis R. Deblois and Carl D. Deblois, both of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Donnalee Deblois, of Intervale, and Carolyn D. Jones, of Tamworth; three grandchildren, Dan and Ben Jones, of Tamworth, and Olivia Deblois-Hill, of Intervale; a sister, Shirley Theriault, of Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be in the North Conway Cemetery later in the spring. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

Jessamyn Grace Baker

Jessamyn Grace Baker, 23, passed away Dec. 21, 2000, at home in Longwood, Fla., of complications from Askin's tumor, a rare, pediatric cancer usually occurring in the thoracic region of the body.
She was born in Bridgton, Maine on Feb. 7, 1977. Until 1985, she lived with her family in Bolster's Mills, Maine, where she was a star student. She and her mother went to Russia with a church group in August of 1991.
She was enrolled in Seminole Community College in Florida at the time of her diagnosis, and, during the years of treatment, she designed and manufactured jewelry, which she proudly displayed at home or in the hospital.
She had a great passion for family, art, movies, love, comfort, peace, jewelry, Mikey, fresh herbs, soft flower blooms, food, Volvo wagons, soap, AOL, calm rain and many friends.
She is survived by her father, Perry N. Baker, of Harrison, Maine; her mother, Cynthia L. (Goodman) Baker, formerly of Bridgton and now of Lafayette, La.; and brothers Seth, of Washington D.C., and Jed, of Orlando, Fla.
