Eunice L. Dalton

NORTH HAMPTON - The funeral for Eunice L. Dalton, 91, of 3 Exeter Road, was held Monday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

The Rev. Dr. J. Jermain Bodine, pastor of the Stratham Community Church, officiated.

Burial was in Center Cemetery, North Hampton, with the committal conducted by the Rev. Bodine.

Pallbearers were Jason Trefethen, Ron Beaudry, Rocco Thurlow, James Carter, Ryan Harrington and Joe Beaudry.

George W. (Babe) Fellows Sr.

CENTRE, Ala. - George W. (Babe) Fellows Sr., 87, formerly of Kittery, died July 11, 2000 after a long illness with cancer at the home of his son in Centre, Ala.

He was a native of Kittery for more than 80 years, where he worked as a contractor/builder. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Kittery. He served 43 years as a volunteer for the Kittery Fire Department. Mr. Fellows was a 50 year member and past master of the Grange and a 50 year member and past chancellor commander of the Knights of Pythias.

He was the husband of the late Pauline Adams Fellows.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, George, Jr. and Aneta R. Fellows of Centre, Ala.; step-granddaughter, Betty L. Ouellette of Ellicott City, Md.,; step-grandson, Jeffrey G. Briggs of Memphis, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

FELLOWS - George W. (Babe) Fellows Sr., 87, formerly of Kittery, died July 11, 2000. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 7 at Orchard Grove Cemetery. The Rev. George Wardwell of Kittery Point Baptist Church will officiate. As per Mr. Fellows' request, his body was cremated by Jordon Funeral Home of Centre, Ala. In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to shelters for battered women.

John P. Langton

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - John P. Langton, 75, of San Antonio, formerly of Kittery, Maine, died Sept. 9, 2000.

He was born in Kittery, a son of Joseph and Eleanor Langton and a graduate of Traip Academy in 1943. He was a past worshipful master of Kelly Lodge 1131 in San Antonio.

He was the husband of Theodate (Black) Langton.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a granddaughter, Andrea Cave; a grandson, Sean Langton; a great-grandson, Steven; a brother, Joseph Langton; sisters Charlotte Lynch and Lillian Walsh; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Porter-Loring Funeral Home, McCullough Street, San Antonio, Texas on Sept. 15.

William A. Locke

PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for William A. Locke, 58, of 659 Dennett St., were held at J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel in Portsmouth, on Monday.

The Rev. Vivan H. Martindale, pastor of Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth, officiated. A letter from Billy Cash was read by the Rev. Martindale.

Burial was in Mt.(cq - per the trustees' request) Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, with committal services by the Rev. Martindale.

Bearers were Andrew O'Hare, David Cash, Ken Cash, Brent Taylor, Stanley Blanchard and Ray Desjardins.

Lorion H. McLane

HAMPTON - The funeral for Lorion H. McLane, 67, of 7 Gray Lane, was held Sunday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. The Rev. Carroll Moore, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiated.

Burial was in High Street Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Rev. Moore.

Pallbearers were Marcus McLane and Rick J. McLane, both sons of Mr. McLane, Cal Wiser, David MacFarlane, Michael Candela and Adam Yankowy. The flag was presented to Mr. McLane's widow, Flora A. (Schrawyer) McLane.

William D. Tierney

HAMPTON - The funeral for William D. Tierney, 72, of 81 Dunvegan Woods, was held Monday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church. The Rev. George E. Ham, pastor, was celebrant. Nelson K. Ward was organist. Patricia Mackensen was soloist.

Acolytes were Pete Casavant, John Hebert and Paul Lemoine. His son and daughter, William D. Tierney and Christine C. Blake, placed the pall on the casket. The gifts were presented to the altar by his granddaughter, Jessica A. Blake.

Burial was in High Street Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Father Ham. The flag that covered the casket was presented to his widow, Claire (Legere) Tierney.

Pallbearers were Robert Boileau, Robert Illig, Raymond Cormier, Donald L. Tremblay, John R. Burrage, Robert Finnegan and Thomas Hall.

The Holy Name Society formed an honor guard at the church and participated in a prayer service that was led by Father Ham at the funeral home Sunday evening.

Mabel H. Tillinghast

NORTH HAMPTON - Services for Mabel H. Tillinghast, 74, of 77 Exeter Road, were held Saturday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory in Hampton.

Largely attended services were conducted in the United Church of Christ. The Rev. Mike Mulberry, pastor, officiated. Gail Adams was organist.

Private interment was in the Center Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Rev. Mulberry.

Sheryl L. Carter

EXETER - Sheryl L. Carter, 50, of Great Hill Court, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston, after battling leukemia.

Born Sept. 29, 1949, in Exeter, she was the daughter of Walter G. and Janice E. (Holmes) Carter of Kingston, N.H.

She resided in Exeter for many years, and was formerly of Kingston. She graduated from the Sanborn Seminary in 1967, and for the past 10 years was employed at The Grill, Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents, survivors include two sons, Brett Charleston of the U.S. Marine Corps, and Albert Short and his wife, Christie, of Barrington; her fiancé, Matthew Kucharski of Exeter; two grandsons, Shane Short and Cole Short, both of Barrington; three sisters, Candra Carter of Pleasanton, Calif., Dawn Robertson of Escondido, Calif., and Jayne Hanscomb of East Kingston; three brothers, Grant Carter of Kensington, N.H., Cory Carter of Oak Hill, Fla., and Layne Carter of Kensington; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

CARTER - Sheryl L. Carter, 50, of Great Hill Court, Exeter, died Sept. 9, 2000. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (today) at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston. The Rev. Thompson will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Leukemia Society of America.

Lorraine Boulanger Lanciani

EXETER - Lorraine Boulanger Lanciani, 73, formerly of Newmarket and Haverhill, Mass., died Friday evening at the Exeter Healthcare Center.

Born Dec. 20, 1926, in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Leon P. and Doris K. (Moran) Boulanger.

She had worked at S & H Precision Manufacturing Co. of Newmarket as the head shipper and receiver.

She was the wife of the late Edward Lanciani.

Survivors include, three sons, Richard Lanciani and his wife, Sylvia, of Sandown, N.H., Edward Lanciani and his wife, Dora, of Kittery, and David Lanciani of Thomaston, Maine; one sister, Joan Mazza and her husband, Anthony, of Haverhill; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one niece, Leslie Gould and her husband, William, of Haverhill; and one nephew, Stephen Mazza of Haverhill.

LANCIANI - Lorraine Boulanger Lanciani, 73, of Exeter, formerly of Newmarket and Haverhill, Mass., died Sept. 9, 2000. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Paul C. Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill.

Natalie E. Larson

DOVER - Natalie E. Larson, 50, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at the New England Medical Center in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 6, 1950, in Weymouth, Mass., she was the daughter of Warren and Elinor (Anderson) Larson of Plymouth, Mass.

She received her master's degree from the University of New Hampshire, then went to work as a neuro rehab therapist for Lakeview Neuro Rehab in Center Ossipee, N.H.

She was a passionate gardener and was very gifted at crocheting.

In addition to her parents, survivors include two sons, Justin Neal Hatch and Bennett Douglas Hatch, both of New Hampshire; one brother, Paul Warren Larson of San Antonio; two sisters, Nancy Larson Aborn of Buzzards Bay, Mass., and Janet Elinor Trevors of Plymouth, Mass.; aunts, uncles and cousins who gave their generous support; and her forever faithful dog, Buster.

LARSON - Natalie E. Larson, 50, of Dover, died Sept. 9, 2000. Relatives and friends are invited to call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Natalie's name please be made to the "Bone Marrow Nurse Education Fund," c/o Clare Sullivan, Nurse Manager North 8, New England Medical Center, Boston, MA 02111; Neely House, 750 Washington St., Box 0716, Boston, MA 02111; or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Mass. Lucille C. Lizotte

SEABROOK - Lucille C. Lizotte, 71, of 64 Silver St., formerly of Amesbury, Mass., died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Mass.

Born April 14, 1929, in Amesbury, she was the daughter of the late Harmel L. and Marie Anne (Roy) Roy. She was a graduate of Rivier, a private high school in Nashua. She loved music, an interest she studied throughout her schooling, and continued as a piano instructor in Amesbury later in life.

A bookkeeper, she was employed by the Credit Union and later by the Maurice Concrete Co. of Amesbury.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a member of St. Anne Solidarity, an avid reader and seamstress, and especially enjoyed her "Monday card group," playing weekly with close friends.

She was the wife of Aime J. Lizotte of Seabrook for 48 years.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, David P. and his wife, Barbara Lizotte, of Hampton Falls; two daughters, Aline A. (Mrs. Carl) Vedrani of Amesbury, and Carole A. (Mrs. Charles A.) Smart of Newmarket; six grandchildren, Keith, Mark and Krista Vedrani, Joshua Lizotte, C. Jared and Benjamin Smart; several cousins; and many, many friends and loved ones.

LIZOTTE - Lucille C. Lizotte, 71, of 64 Silver St., Seabrook, and formerly of Amesbury, Mass., died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Sacred Heart Church, Amesbury. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday (today) at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury. Interment in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. Joseph R. Mickela

PORTSMOUTH - Joseph R. Mickela, 79, of 156 Woodlawn Circle, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at SunBridge Health Care Center after a long period of illness.

Born May 7, 1921, in Haverhill, Mass., he was the son of Sebastian and Theresa (Bovio) Mickela and was a resident of Portsmouth for the past 50 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign and the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, where he participated in the liberation of the Philippines, earning two battle stars.

He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 38 years in the sheet-metal shop as an inspector and instructor.

He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and AARP and was a former treasurer for NARFE. A loving father and grandfather, he took great pride in maintaining his house and property.

He was the husband of Constance (Vercellone) Mickela for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Marie Mead, and her husband, Aubrey, of Cos Cob, Conn.; three sons, Joseph Mickela, and his wife, Marianne, of Stoughton, Mass., Michael Mickela, and Peter Mickela and his wife, Tara, all of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Mead, and Molly and Meghan Mickela; a brother, John Mickela of Haverhill, Mass.; and a nephew.

MICKELA - Joseph R. Mickela, 79, of 156 Woodlawn Circle, Portsmouth, died Sept. 9, 2000. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Catherine Church, Woodbury Avenue, Portsmouth. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday (today), at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Family flowers only, please. William E. Pierce

CENTER OSSIPEE, N.H. - William E. Pierce, 72, of 19 Remle Road, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at the SunBridge Nursing Home in Wolfeboro.

Born Jan. 24, 1928, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Elmer W. and Blanche E. (Dailey) Pierce. He lived in Center Ossipee for 23 years, having moved from Portsmouth, where he worked for many years as a shipfitter for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was the husband of Barbara C. (Dunbar) Pierce, of Center Ossipee.

In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, William E. Pierce Jr. of Riverside, Calif.; one daughter, Mary E. Widder of Center Ossipee; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert E. Pierce, of Manchester; one sister, June Lunt-Pecunies of Center Ossipee; one niece, three nephews and a few cousins.

PIERCE - William E. Pierce, 72, of 19 Remle Road, Center Ossipee, N.H., died Sept. 9, 2000. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home, Route 16, West Ossipee. A funeral service will be held following the visiting hours at 4 p.m. The Rev. Wilbur Hartford will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family, in Eliot, Maine. John P. Poggio

EXETER - John P. Poggio, 47, of 196 Front St., died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at the Exeter Healthcare.

A lifelong resident of Exeter, he was born Jan. 11, 1952, son of the late John J. and Irma G. (Bernier) Poggio.

He worked at the former Alrose Shoe Co. in Exeter for several years; previous to that he worked for his father at D. Poggio & Sons Grocery Store in Exeter.

He was an avid race car fan and was a member of the Farmer Racing Club. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially the "oldies."

Survivors include two grandchildren; one aunt, Ruth S. Poggio, of Exeter; and one cousin, Linda M. Eaton of East Kingston.

He was predeceased by his daughter.

POGGIO - John P. Poggio, 47, of 196 Front St., Exeter, died Sept. 9, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Exeter Cemetery. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.
