Richard F. Infanti

SANDOWN - Richard F. Infanti, 55, of North Road, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, in Sandown.

He was born Oct. 7, 1945, in Westbury, Conn., and had been a resident of Sandown since 1977, formerly living in Newtown, Conn. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era. He was employed as the engineering manager for P.C. assembly for Celestica in Portsmouth.

He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Kellar Infanti of Sandown; his daughter, Johnna Infanti of Sandown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

INFANTI - Richard F. Infanti, 55, of Sandown, died March 27, 2001. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday in the Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation will follow in the Southern N.H. Crematory in Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sandown Lions Club, P.O. Box 46, Sandown, NH 03873. Mr. Frank W. Yeaw

PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Mr. Frank W. Yeaw, 90, of 717 Woodbury Ave., were held Saturday from the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, with services held at North Congregational Church in Market Square. The Rev. Dawn Shippee, pastor, officiated. Words of remembrance were given by granddaughters Sara Carpenter-Mollica and Heather Heaton; friend and director of the Barnstormers, Rod Mansfield; and friend and poet Gerry Binder. The Barnstormers performed "You'll Never Walk Alone" and Rod Mansfield sang "O Rest in the Lord" from "Elijah." Organist was Gary MacDonald.

In attendance were members of the church and representatives from the Portsmouth school system.

Burial will be in Green River Cemetery in Greenfield, Mass.

Bearers were grandsons Kenneth Heaton and Kevin Heaton; son-in-law Bob Heaton; grandson-in-law Phil Mollica; future grandson-in-law Bob Anderson; and friends John Crist, Herbert Larson, Robert Layton and Pat Schena.

Wilhelmina C. Russell

NEWINGTON - Wilhelmina Conover Kennard Russell, 72, widow of Joseph D. Russell, of 148 Little Bay Road, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at the Edgewood Centre.

She was born on July 23, 1928, in Portsmouth, daughter of the late Reginald P. and Mary A. (Hobbs) Kennard.

Survivors include two sons, Nelson H. Russell of South Berwick, Maine; and Reginald K. Russell of Lawrence, Mass.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne I. Russell; three grandchildren, Sherri M. Lewis of Greenfield, Mass.; Raymond N. Russell of Dover; and Julie M. Cross of Seabrook; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron J. Russell, Dylan A. Russell and Emily Lewis.

RUSSELL - Wilhelmina Conover Kennard Russell, 72, of 148 Little Bay Road, Newington, died March 31, 2001. Graveside services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements by J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel.

Estelle Reardon

PORTSMOUTH - Estelle (Rand) Reardon, 79, a resident of the Mark H. Wentworth Home, formerly of Rye, died Saturday, March 31, 2001.

She was born April 12, 1921, in Rye, the daughter of the late N. Sherman and Marion (Shaw) Rand.

She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. She worked for the Rye Water District for several years and with her husband, Robert J. Reardon, owned and operated the Ocean View House in Rye from 1955 to 1985. She also worked for the Rye Elementary School for several years.

She was a lifelong resident of Rye and was a member of the Bethany Congregational Christian Church.

She was the wife of the late Robert J. Reardon; and was predeceased by a daughter, Leanne Reardon.

Family members include one son, Robert R. Reardon of Rye; two daughters, Priscilla A. Pickering of Rye and Joanne Kenney of Kennebunkport, Maine; seven grandchildren; one sister, Carol Laverty of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

REARDON - Estelle Reardon, a resident of the Mark H. Wentworth Home, Portsmouth, formerly of Rye, died March 31, 2001. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Bethany Church, 500 Breakfast Hill Road, Greenland. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Private burial will be in the Central Cemetery, Rye. The family requests no visiting hours and that flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater N.H. Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301-4059. Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Robert G. Hartford

PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Robert G. "Bob" Hartford, 78, of 14 Worthen Road, were held on Sunday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel. The Rev. Brent Averill, pastor of the New Covenant Church of the Hamptons, officiated. Words of remembrance were given by Mr. Hartford's grandson, Ronald Ross.

Burial will be in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, at a later date.

Forrest Donaldson

KITTERY, Maine - A memorial Mass was held for Forrest "Mert" Donaldson on Saturday, March 31, 2001, from St. Raphael Church, with the Rev. Real Nadeau officiating. In attendance were family, friends and neighbors from both his Kittery home and his more recent neighborhood in Eliot. Offerings to the altar were made by his grandsons Tim Janousek and Mike Libby. The congregation was led in song by organist Nancy Jones, and the St. Raphael Church choir offered several hymns. The cross bearer for the service was Mr. Sousa, and the reader was Edward Huntress.

Frances H. Pettigrew

KITTERY, Maine - Frances H. Pettigrew, 90, of Picott Road, died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at York Hospital.

She was born on July 12, 1910, in Bolton Glen, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Leonard and Blanche (Needham) Johnston. She attended schools in Knowlton, Quebec.

She moved to Manchester, N.H., where she worked as a domestic while attending school. She graduated from Hesser Business School in Manchester.

In 1937 she was married to Willis J. Pettigrew, and they settled in Kittery. In 1948 they moved into his family homestead, where they continued to live until his death in April 2000. They were married for 62 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Fay Major and her husband, George, of Somersworth, N.H.; a grandson, Kerry Major of San Diego, Calif.; a granddaughter, Kimberly Major of Somersworth; a great-granddaughter, whom she adored, Brittany Adrien of Somersworth; and several nieces and nephews.

PETTIGREW - Frances H. Pettigrew, 90, of Picott Road, Kittery, Maine, died March 31, 2001, in York (Maine) Hospital. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road/ U.S. Route 1 Bypass, Kittery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to MDA - Myasthenia Gravis, National Headquarters, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718. Arrangements are by the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, Kittery, Maine.

Daniel F. Carlisle Jr.

EXETER - Daniel Folsom Carlisle Jr., 58, of Old Farm Road, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

Born March 11, 1943, in Exeter, he was the son of Doris (Wentworth) Carlisle of Exeter and the late Daniel Folsom Carlisle.

He was a lifelong resident of Exeter. He was the owner and operator of Carlisle Stables for more than 20 years and later was employed by Perro Structures in Stratham for five years, working as a foreman.

He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association. He was very active in the New England Circuit of the Sulky Horse Racing Division.

He enjoyed gardening and running his vegetable stand.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Carlisle of Exeter; one daughter, Lisa Buxton of Newfields; two sons, Daniel F. Carlisle III of Exeter and Randy Carlisle of Epping; two grandchildren, Ashley Carlisle of Exeter and Christopher Buxton of Newfields; one sister, Mrs. Daniel (June) Davis of Exeter; and many nieces and nephews.

CARLISLE - Daniel Folsom Carlisle Jr., 58, of Old Farm Road, Exeter, died April 1, 2001. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Thursday from the funeral home. The Rev. John Denson will officiate. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Buxton, Jeffrey Currier, Jim Dills, Michael Davis, Darren Davis and Dan Davis.

James D. Carabelas

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - James Dion Carabelas, 85, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at the Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital.

Born April 19, 1915, in Newmarket, N.H., he was the son of Dion and Stella (Aloupis) Carabelas. The family moved to Dover, N.H., where he spent his youth on the family farm on Back Road. When World War II broke out, he enlisted in the Army, fighting in France and Belgium under General Patton's command.

He moved to Waterford, Conn., in the late '40s and ran a marina and an electrical business. He joined the Bay View Masonic Lodge No. 120, in Niantic, Conn., in 1952 and was very active in the Shrine.

He met the lovely Georgia Mandesi and they were married in 1965. They moved to Tarpon Springs, where they made their home. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the AHEPA, Tarpon Masonic Lodge No. 112 F & AM, and the Sgt. John M. Schneider VFW Post, all of Tarpon Springs.

Besides his wife, Georgia, he is survived by one son, Danny James Carabelas and his wife, Despina; two granddaughters, Georgia Carabelas and Marina Carabelas; two brothers, Ted Carabelas of Zepherhills, Fla.; and Spero Carabelas of Poquoson, Va.; and five sisters, Mrs. William (Toni) Bennett of Nottingham, N.H.; Mrs. William (Lulu) Calivas of Dover, N.H.; Mrs. Nicholas (Nikki) Vatistas of Madbury, N.H.; Mrs. George (Fula) Pouliopoulos of Rye, N.H.; and Mrs. Richard (Priscilla) Schanda of Newmarket, N.H.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis Carabelas, Peter Carabelas and Charles Carabelas; and one sister, Clara Leoutsacos.

Henry Bedell

TILTON - Mr. Henry "Hank" Bedell, 68, of Tilton, and formerly of Kittery, Maine, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2001, at the Franklin Regional Hospital in Franklin.

Born Feb. 24, 1933, in Kittery, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Gallant) Bedell Sr. He attended local schools and later enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served his country proudly in the Korean conflict. Upon discharge he worked several years as a furniture mover for "Ray" the Mover in Portsmouth. He was a dedicated employee who worked long, countless hours and was respected and thought of by all of his fellow workers.

In his spare time he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He moved from Kittery to Tilton in 1985, where he resided at the New Hampshire Veterans home. He will be missed by all the residents and staff there.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ralph Bedell Jr. and Richard Bedell.

He is survived by his beloved sister-in-law, Betty Bedell of Oceanside, Calif.; and his nephew, Steven Bedell of Rochester.

The immediate family gathered at the Wilson-Cooper Funeral Home of Kittery for prayers, and to bid their farewells to "Hank." A private burial will take place later this spring in Baptist Cemetery, Kittery Point.

William A. Barlow

HAMPTON - William A. Barlow, 67, of 1 Elaine St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at Exeter Hospital.

Born in Amesbury, Mass., July 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Roy Harold and Kathleen D. "Kay" (Lepps) Barlow.

He attended Amesbury schools, was a graduate of Amesbury High School, attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Wisconsin. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

He worked in property management for the past 15 years, managing the Elaine Garden Apartments in Hampton and other property in the Portsmouth area. Prior to this he worked in real estate, owning and operating Applewood Real Estate.

He also worked for the Chase Shawmut Co. in Newburyport, Mass., and for the former USM Corp., Bailey Division of Seabrook, in a variety of job descriptions for many years.

He resided in Hampton for the past 20 years and was a former member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.

Family members include one son, Kevin M. Barlow and his wife, Lisa, of Hampton; two brothers, Roy Barlow of Springfield, Vt.; and Robert Kimball of Salisbury, Mass.; his stepmother, Helen Barlow of Amesbury, Mass.; two grandchildren, Kevin M. Barlow II and Elyssa Barlow; nieces and nephews.

BARLOW - William A. Barlow, 67, of 1 Elaine St., Hampton, died March 31, 2001. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Virgil E. Bagley

YORK, Maine - Virgil E. Bagley, 88, of 200 York St., died Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Harbor Home after a long illness.

Born Nov. 10, 1912, in Jonesport, he was the son of Harvey and Lelia (Mitchell) Bagley. He graduated from Jonesport High School.

He had a real passion for boats and the sea and was a lobster fisherman for many years. He was a fireman for the Portsmouth Fire Department for 22 years, from Feb. 1, 1946, until his retirement, Nov. 15, 1968. He had also been a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Bath Iron Works.

He was a member of the Jonesport Masonic Lodge No. 188.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Martha D. (Schiot) Bagley of York; a son, Harvey and his wife, Karen Bagley, of Hampton, N.H.; three daughters, Patricia Trueman of New Castle, N.H.; Diana and her husband, Art Cross, of Londonderry, N.H.; and Priscilla Estey of Manchester, N.H.; eight grandchildren, Julie and Butch, Jeff and Jason, Mandy, Adam, Heather and Matt; two great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Taylor; and two cousins.

BAGLEY - Virgil E. Bagley, 88, of 200 York St., York, Maine, died March 30, 2001. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Lucas and Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Road, York. Visiting hours are prior to the memorial service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the York Volunteer Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 238, York, ME 03909.
