Constance M. Boston

KENNEBUNK, Maine - Constance M. Boston, 81, of Bradford on the Common, Kennebunk, formerly of Cape Porpoise and North Berwick, died Monday, July 15, 2002. She was the widow of Philip R. Boston, who died in 1997.

Mrs. Boston was born in Eliot on Dec. 23, 1920, a daughter of Walter and Jenny Drake Marston. She attended Eliot schools and graduated from Portsmouth (N.H.) High School, Class of 1938. She attended secretarial school in Portsmouth and was employed at the Badgers Garage in Portsmouth for several years.

In 1941 she married Philip R. Boston and served as secretary of the P.R. Boston Corp. until 1968. She was an avid golfer, being a member of the Cape Arundel Golf Club in Kennebunkport, the Whebhannet Golf Club at Kennebunk Beach and the Kona Country Club in Hawaii where she and her late husband spent the winter months. She was a member of the North Berwick and Kennebunkport Historical Society, the American Legion Auxiliary of North Berwick, and the Navy League in Hawaii.

She is survived by her son, David R. Boston and daughter-in-law, Carol Boston, and her daughter, June S. Myers, all of Kennebunk; three grandchildren, John P. Boston of Chicago, Jeffery David Boston of Rockport, and Heather Long Molienro of Stoneham, Mass.; and two nieces.

BOSTON - Constance M. Boston, 81, of Kennebunk, Maine, formerly of Cape Porpoise and North Berwick, died July 15, 2002. Friends are invited to call at the Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, from 6 to 8 this evening (Wednesday). Private graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Arundel Cemetery, Kennebunkport, with the Rev. Charles Whiston officiating. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, c/o Tom Bradbury, P.O. Box 7028, Cape Porpoise, ME 04014, in Mrs. Boston’s memory. Arrangements by the Bibber Memorial Chapel.

Louise M. Fogarty

DOVER - Louise M. Fogarty, 78, of 10 Middle Road, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

She was born May 22, 1924, in Portsmouth, the daughter of Hormidos and Josephine (Cyr) Bilodeau. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, Joseph Shibbal. She attended schools in Dover and graduated from Dover High School.

Mrs. Fogarty was a member of the Jaycees.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick U. Fogarty Sr., who died in 1999.

She is survived by five sons, Mark U. Fogarty of Albany, N.Y., Michael C. Fogarty of Barrington, F. Urban Fogarty Jr. of Barrington, Shawn U. Fogarty and his wife, Cheryl, of Dover, and Kevin U. Fogarty and his wife, Nancy, of Barrington; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Frances Pace of Dover; one brother, Carl Shibbal of Dover; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Fogarty was predeceased by four sisters, Laurance Pace, Anna Churchman, Mary Blanche and Earleen Collon; and two brothers, Jean Bilodeau and Donat Bilodeau.

FOGARTY - Louise M. Fogarty, 78, of Dover died July 15, 2002. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Gregoire, pastor of St. Charles Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Mary New Cemetery. Anna H. Kushious

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Anna H. Kushious, 92, of 25 Cobb St., and formerly of Portsmouth, died of cancer on July 15, 2002, in Mansfield.

Born in Michla, Russia, in 1909, she immigrated to the United States in 1912 with her mother, Rachael, and brothers David and Jacob. The family settled in Portsmouth, N.H., with her father, Abram. Another brother, Sam, was born in New Hampshire. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in history and spent her whole life as a teacher of special education and librarian at the Portsmouth Junior High School.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Kushious of Warwick, R.I.; and her nephew Paul Kushious of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, her niece Lisa Romanul of Mansfield, and her niece and nephew Donald Cahn and Charlotte Bradbury of California.

KUSHIOUS - Anna H. Kushious, 92, of 25 Cobb St., Mansfield, Mass., and formerly of Portsmouth, died Monday, July 15, 2002. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Temple Israel, 200 State St., Portsmouth. Friends are invited. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Israel. Arrangements are by J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel.

John Harold Gagnon

PORTSMOUTH - John Harold Gagnon, 46, died Saturday, July 13, 2002.

He was born in Portsmouth on July 9, 1956, a son of Susan (Wiggin) Gagnon of Dover and the late Roger L. Gagnon.

He attended Portsmouth schools. He was a boat builder and fisherman for many years in the Portsmouth area. He loved music, playing guitar, singing and reading.

He is survived by Debra J. Gagnon and their son, Jacob John Gagnon of Dover; a brother, Stephen Gagnon and his wife, Lauri, of Dover; two sisters, Susan Gagnon of Stratham and Rose Martin of Lee; two nephews, Christopher and Michael Gagnon, and a niece, Stephanie Gagnon, all of Dover; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

GAGNON - John H. Gagnon, 46, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, July 13, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Friends are invited.

Joanne M. (Murphy) Jameson

PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for Joanne M. (Murphy) Jameson, 59, of 1 Freedom Circle, were held on Tuesday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, Portsmouth. The Rev. Agapit H. Jean Jr., pastor of St. James Church in Portsmouth, officiated. Words of remembrance were given by her daughter, Lisa Delisle.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth, with a committal service by the Rev. Jean.

Bearers were Rick Delisle, Victor Love, Zack Delisle, Nick Love, Ronald Delisle and William Cronin.

Wake services were held on Monday evening at the funeral home by the Rev. Jean.

SHEA - Leo Francis "Tunney" Shea, 79, of 31 Shaw Circle, New Castle, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Summer Street, Portsmouth. Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Memorials in his name may be made to the Rockingham VNA and Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Mabelle G. Clocher

HAMPTON - The funeral for Mabelle G. Clocher, 92, of Drinkwater Road, Hampton Falls, who died July 13, 2002, was held Wednesday, July 17, 2002, from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Mircaculous Medal Church. The Rev. Maurice R. Larochelle, pastor, was the celebrant. Nelson K. Ward was organist, and Dennis Jacobs was soloist. Altar servers were members of the Holy Name Society. The pall was placed on the casket by Sue Kennedy and Richard Clocher. The placing of a Christian symbol on the casket was by Karen Collins. The readings were offered by Leo Poisson Jr. and Michael Poisson. The presentation of the gifts was offered by Lindsey Poisson, Morgan Kennedy, Sue Kennedy and Karen Collins. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass., with the committal service conducted by the Rev. Larochelle. Pallbearers were Mark Collins, Donald Kennedy, Richard Clocher, Justin Packard, Wesley Collins, Theodore Poisson, Bryan Collins and S

pencer Kennedy.

Leo F. Shea

NEW CASTLE - Leo Francis "Tunney" Shea, 79, of 31 Shaw Circle, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at his home.

Born in Portsmouth on Aug. 31, 1922, he was a son of Leo and Christina (Fullam) Shea. He attended St. Patrick School and was a graduate of Portsmouth High. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Seabee.

He graduated from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard apprentice program as a journeyman electrician and retired in 1981 as supervisor, material management specialist, in the planning department. From 1957 to 1967 he also worked for the Merrill-Ward Confectionary Company.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Knights of Columbus St. Mary Assembly Fourth Degree. He was an adult advisor to the CYO and volunteered for 14 years at the soup kitchen. An avid golfer, he had been a member of the Portsmouth Country Club since 1949.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ellen (Robbins) Shea; four daughters, Kathleen Wiswell and her husband John of Loganville, Ga., Lee Maher and her husband Ray of Hampton, Karen Thomas and her husband Kelly of Key West, Fla., and Lorri Parrella and her husband David of Waltham, Mass.; nine granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vincent Shea of Hampton, Peter Shea of Biddeford, Maine, and Edward Shea of Portsmouth; two sisters, Rita Herlihy of Dover and Dorothy Archibald of Springhill, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy P. Marquette

HAMPTON - Dorothy P. "Dot" Marquette, 91, of 22 Tuck Road, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the Seacoast Health Center.

She was born in Adams, Mass., on Nov. 14, 1910, a daughter of the late Leander J. and Ellen (Kearns) Wellspeak. She moved from Pittsfield, Mass., to Portsmouth in the late 1970s, where she resided for three years before moving to the Dearborn House in Hampton.

As a young woman, she worked for several years as a secretary for the Berkshire Life Insurance Co. After raising her daughter, she worked for several years as a bookkeeper for Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield.

She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Hampton and a former member of St. Stephen’s Church in Pittsfield.

She was a major supporter of RSVP, volunteering more than 20,000 hours of service. She had been an assistant Girl Scout leader and was a former member of the Pittsfield Grange. An accomplished seamstress, she received many ribbons in competition at fairs for her crocheting and needlework. She enjoyed performing in minstrel shows in Pittsfield, usually playing an end man.

She will be remembered by the residents and staff of Seacoast Health Center as the Teddy Bear Lady because of her collection of nearly 150 bears, which she shared with the other residents.

married in 1934, she was the widow of Harold E. Marquette, who died in 1970, and was predeceased by her sister, Gladys Brouker, who died in 1964.

Family members include her daughter, Nan M. Fahey and her husband Larry of Epping; two grandchildren, Scott D. Fahey and Jeffrey A. Fahey; a great-granddaughter, Erin Leigh Fahey; and several nieces and nephews.

MARQUETTE - Dorothy P. "Dot" Marquette, 91, of 22 Tuck Road, Hampton, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 High St., Hampton, NH 03842. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery, Pittsfield, Mass., at a later date. Assistance with the arrangements is by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Evelyn Burford

HAMPTON - The funeral for Evelyn Burford, 96, of 27 North Shore Road, formerly of Rye Beach, who died July 14, 2002, was held Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. The Rev. Bartholomew Leon, pastor of St. George Maronite Catholic Church in Dover, officiated. Jean Goss was organist. Burial followed in the Central Cemetery, Rye with the committal service conducted by Father Leon.

Joyce K. Frasier

STRATHAM - Joyce K. Frasier, 61, of 267 Portsmouth Avenue, passed into eternal life on July 16, 2002, at Exeter Hospital, Exeter. Her spirited, dignified, and courageous fight against multiple myeloma was inspirational.

She was born on April 4, 1941, in Springfield, Vermont, to John and Olga (Waida) Lernatowitz. She was raised in Keene, N.H., and was a 1959 graduate of Keene High School. She attended the University of New Hampshire. She resided in Stratham with her family for the past 36 years.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who was highly respected for her kindness, loyalty, compassion, and helpfulness. She was a communicant of both St. Michael’s parish in Exeter and St. Mary’s parish in Newmarket. She taught religious instruction at St. Michael’s parish in Exeter, was a member of the Stratham School Board, and was a Brownie leader. For many years she was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

She had many interests and hobbies which provided beauty and service to others. Her genuine spirituality and love of life graced her presence to all who knew her.

In addition to her husband of 41 years, Francis J. Frasier of Stratham, she is survived by her children, John Frasier and wife Katharine of Concord Heather Chabot and husband Christopher of Campton, Christopher Frasier and long-time friend Kimberly Reis of Rye, Hilary Hayes and husband Stephen of Stratham, and Courtney Grygiel and husband Joseph of Barrington; four grandchildren, Delaney and Andrew Chabot of Campton, Anna Soo Frasier of Concord, and John Grygiel of Barringon; and many extended family relatives.

Mrs. Frasier was predeceased by an infant son, Francis J. Frasier Jr.

FRASIER - Joyce K. Frasier, 61, of 267 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, N.H., died July 16, 2002. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held at the Brewitt Funeral Home on Pine Street in Exeter, N.H., from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 19. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church on Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Maple Lane Cemetery in Stratham, N.H. A fellowship of family and friends will follow at the Stratham Community Church adjacent to the Maple Lane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her honor to the charity of one's choice, or the International Multiple Myeloma Foundation, c/o Contribution Services, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.

John Fields

HAVERHILL. Mass. - John Fields, 69, died of cancer on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at his home.

He was owner and chief executive officer of Marble Motor Corp. and had lived and worked in Haverhill throughout his adult life. He was born in Boston, son of the late Mildred (Hickey) and Edwin S. Fields Sr. He was a graduate of Boston English High School and received his B.A degree from Bowdoin College in 1958, where he was a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity.

During the Korean conflict, he served with the United States Coast Guard.

A lifetime summer resident of Rye Beach, N.H., he had served as president of the Rye Beach Club and was a former director of the Bank of Boston. At the time of his death he was a member of the Rotary Club of Haverhill.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Haverhill Country Club and the Abenaqui Country Club in Rye Beach, N.H., and at the age of 17 was ranked the No. 3 schoolboy in New England on the Boston Golf Team.

He was married to the late Barbara J. (Marble) Fields, who died in l998, and his survivors include three sons, John Fields Jr. of Washington, D.C., Dana A. and his wife Linda L. Fields, and Duncan E. Fields, all of Haverhill; a daughter, Melinda S. Fitzsimmons of Haverhill; a brother, Dr. Edwin S. Fields III and his wife Martha Fields of Lexington, Mass.; a sister, Constance S. Fields-Toppan, and her husband Robert Toppan; a grandson, Dana C. Fields of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews.

FIELDS - John Fields, 69, of Haverhill, Mass., died Wednesday, July 17, 2002. The Fields family will be receiving friends and relatives from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Exit 51A (Main St.) off Route 495. There will be a private memorial service at a future date and at the convenience of the family members. Donations in his memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01845.

David M. Kelly

HAMPTON - David M. Kelly, 48, of 131 Little River Road, died Monday, July 15, 2002, at his home.

A lifelong resident of Hampton, he was born in Exeter on July 18, 1953.

He was a graduate of Winnacunnet High School and New Hampshire College. He was employed as a software installer for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Portsmouth.

A devoted son, husband, father and brother, he was very lighthearted and found joy in the simplest of things. He was a coach with the Hampton Youth Association baseball program and was active with the Little Warriors football team.

Family members include his wife, Kathleen P. (Carey) Kelly; one son, Bryce E. Kelly; one daughter, Careyann E. Kelly; his mother and stepfather, Constance E. (Hamilton) Kelly-Jardis and her husband Walter; his father and stepmother, Gerald P. Kelly and his wife Mary - all of Hampton; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Belanger of New York, N.Y.; one brother, Jeffrey P. Kelly of Nesconset, N.Y.; one sister, Carol S. Kelly-Mowers of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.

KELLY - David M. Kelly, 48, of 131 Little River Road, Hampton, died Monday, July 15, 2002. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests there be no visiting hours and flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to the Hampton Youth Association, P.O. Box 81, Hampton, NH 03843.

Estela R. King

NASHUA - Estela Rotsana (Ankerman) King, 39, of 6 Grouton Street died at Southern N.H. Medical Center on Sunday evening, July 14, 2002 after a lengthly illness.

She was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, on July 6, 1963, daughter of Etelvina Pineda (Estrada) Ankerman of Guatemala City and the late Guillermo Guerrero Ankerman. A resident of Nashua for the past year, she had previously lived in Alhambra, Calif.

She was the wife of Ross James King, whom she married on Aug. 9, 1995.

Mrs. King was an elementary school teacher at the Amherst Street Elementary School and was much beloved by her students. In Guatemala she had taught elementary education for twelve years.

She had attended the Elim Pentecostal Church in Methuen, Mass.

Mrs. King enjoyed cooking, doing embroidery and all types of crafts, and loved people and teaching young children.

She was eductaed in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

In addition to her mother and her husband of almost seven years, she is survived by her son, Allen Emmanuel King of Nashua; a brother, Dennis Guerrero Pineda of Guatemala City; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda Virginia and Sergio Gonzalez of Guatemala; her mother-in-law, Janet (House) King of Stratham; three nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

KING - Estela Rotsana King, 39, of Nashua, formerly Alhambra, Cailf. and Guatemala, died July 14, 2002. There are no visiting hours. A funeral service in her honor will be held in The First Church (Congregational) U.C.C., One Concord Street, Nashua on Saturday, July 20 at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to attend. The Rev. James S. Chaloner will officiate. Interment prayers and burial will follow in Center Cemetery, North Hampton, N.H. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Home Health and Hospice Care, 22 Prospect Street, Nashua, NH 03060. Arrangements are in the care of locally owned Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock Street, Nashua.
