Marjorie E. Millett

SOMERSWORTH - Marjorie E. (Maggie) Millett, 63, of 117 Colonial Village, died Friday Dec. 12, 2002 - on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadelupe - at her residence, following a sudden illness. Margie was born Feb. 1, 1939, in Wesley, Maine. The daughter of John and Mildred (Hawkins) Mahoney. She was educated in Maine, graduating from Brewer High School class of 1957.

Following her marriage, she lived in the states of Maine, Washington, Minnesota, and New York before finally settling in Dover. She enjoyed spending time with and entertaining family and dear friends, all of whom don’t know what to do without her. For nearly 30 years "Maggie" was the face of the Newicks Lobster House dining room. It was not only her vocation, but her avocation. It was her home away from home.

She enjoyed traveling. If she saw the sign, she’d been there. Survivors include a son, Michael J. Millett, of Somersworth; two daughters, Katrina I. Price and her husband, Roger, of Wheatland, Wyo., and Michelle E. McKone and her husband, Steven, of Somersworth. She also leaves three beloved grandchildren, Jason M. Millett, Katie M. Price, and Chance R. Price - all of whom will dwell in her heart forever. In addition, she leaves her former husband, and the father of her children, John C. Millett. Marjorie leaves her beloved siblings, Dennis Mahoney and his wife, Sybil, of Clifton, Maine, and Patricia Small and her husband, Albert, of Kittery, Maine. She leaves many nieces and nephews very close to her heart, Stanley Mahoney and his wife, Adrienne; John Mahoney and his wife, Sarah; Lea Warner and her husband Jim ; Joseph Small and his wife, Michelle; and Vincent Small. Close friends Leticia (Pat) Small, Sylvia Lavoie, Jan Cloutier, Gloria Russ, Tammy Whipple, Betty Buckley, longtime employer Jack Newick,

and others too numerous to mention, but they know who they are. She was always thankful for her friends and family and considered them the true blessings in her life.

Forgive us if we have forgotten anyone, but know that she hasn’t.

She was an extraordinary mother, a devoted grandmother, sister and friend. She delighted in witnessing each accomplishment of those close to her, even if only in her mind’s eye. Never was there a more generous and loving heart than hers.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roberge Funeral Home, 298 High St. Somersworth. A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Church with Rev.
