Ann Brown

SOMERSWORTH - Ann Dorothea Brown was born on Walnut Street in Somersworth on April 13, 1916. On Sept. 9, 2003, she left the burden of this world behindand returned to her creator.

Margaret and James Shanahan. She had one sister, Marguerite, who died on Sept. 9, 1986; and one brother, James, who was lost in action in World War II. She graduated from Somersworth High School and the University of New Hampshire with majors in French and Spanish.

football game and shortly thereafter married him. She was blessed with three children. The first baby, a boy, died shortly after birth. She then had a
baby girl, Cheryl Ann. Next came a boy, Michael Stephen. Then her life truly began as a loving wife and mother.

She devoted the rest of her life to loving and caring for her family. There
were no boundaries for those she loved. She was never too busy
or too tired to care for her family. She was her husband's best friend and
partner in their life together. They were blessed with 57 years as
husband and wife. She took such joy in watching her children grow into two fine adults with families of their own. She cared for her husband

She loved being outdoors, working in her yard with her husband and caring for their home. She delighted in planting flowers of all varieties and standing back and observing a freshly mown lawn and the sweet smell of the dark, green grass. She always helped. She never stood by and watched. She wanted to pitch in and work hard and enjoy the simple gratification she felt at the end of the day.
