He had a special closeness to his church, St. Martin’s Church in Somersworth, singing for many years in the church choir and with his family running the yearly penny sales.

He proudly served his country during World War II, as a member of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his loving family. They include his wife of nearly 52 years, Priscilla (Pepin) Guilmette of Somersworth; three daughters, Michele Neumann, Anne Marie Beaudoin and her partner, Larry Harris, and Claire Rheaume and her husband, Glenn, all of Somersworth; three sons, George and his wife, Cynthia Guilmette, of Berwick, Maine and Ron Guilmette and his partner, Georgia Letendre, and Martin and his wife, Janice Guilmette, both of Somersworth; sisters, Constance Viel of Rollinsford, Trudie Rimbaud of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Henriette Guilmette of Somersworth; his brothers, Richard and his wife, Madeline Guilmette, of Rochester, Bernard and his wife, Toni Guilmette, of Somersworth and Delmore and his wife, Vivian Guilmette, of Somersworth; an aunt, Claire LaLiberte of Somersworth; eight grandchildren, Dale Marble, Christopher and Bryan Newman, Leanna and Eric Guilmette, Kyle and Corey Beaudoin and Kristen Rheaume, as well as 45 nieces and nephews and 62 great-nieces and nephews.
