FRANK H. LOGAN JR.
GOFFSTOWN – Frank H. Logan Jr., 64, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Laurel Center Genesis Healthcare after a lengthy illness.
Born in Malden, Mass., on June 10, 1940, he was the son of Frank H. Sr. and Claire H. (Grant) Logan. He was raised and educated in South Boston and resided in Medford, Mass., for 28 years before moving to Goffstown in 2000.

He was employed as a heat treater with T.R.W. Inc. of Cambridge, Mass., for many years.

Mr. Logan was a member of the Concord (Mass.) Rod and Gun Club and was a member of Hillside United Methodist Church of Grasmere. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Judith E. (Shine) Logan of Goffstown; two sons, Frank H. Logan III of Concord, and Michael E. Logan of Goffstown; one daughter, Kristeen S. Thompson of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Frank H. Logan IV and Katherine Alexandria Logan, both of Malden, Mass.; two brothers, Steven Charles Logan of Gorham, Maine, and William Logan of South Boston; three sisters, Claire Watson of West Buxton, Maine, and Ellen Beaulieu and Julie Cole, both of Beverly, Mass.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

French and Rising Funeral Home of Goffstown handled the arrangements.

THERESE LEBLANC
GOFFSTOWN – Therese (Laferte) LeBlanc, 79, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004, at home after a brief illness.
Born in Suncook, she was the daughter of Ernest and Merilda (Francoeur) Laferte.

Mrs. LeBlanc worked for many years for the Goffstown Truck Center as a monitor for the special needs students.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister.

She was predeceased by her husband, Laurent LeBlanc, in 1998.

Family members include two sons, Dennis E. LeBlanc and Roland M. LeBlanc, both of Manchester; two daughters, Elaine T. LeBlanc of Goffstown, and Rolande S. Cote of Manchester; a grandchild; a brother, William Laferte of Suncook; a sister, Irene Borthwick of Litchfield; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phaneuf Funeral Home of Manchester handled the arrangements.

ROGER D. AUGER
GOFFSTOWN – Roger D. Auger, 68, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
Born in Manchester on July 1, 1936, he was the son of Fridolin and Laurette (L’Heureux) Auger.

He was a resident of Goffstown since 1984, previously residing in Manchester.

Mr. Auger worked for Chagnon’s Garden Center, St. Augustin Cemetery and the Sheraton Wayfarer.

He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church, Manchester.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved to spend family time outdoors, including the beach. He was an avid supporter of the children’s sports and shows.

He was one to believe the Red Sox would win the World Series in his lifetime.

Mr. Auger was a member of the 197th Field Artillery of the Army National Guard.

Family members include his wife, Suzanne C. (Provost) Auger of Goffstown; three sons, Ronald A. Auger of Bedford, Philip R. Auger of Concord, and Pierre J. Auger of Manchester; five daughters, Valerie M. Wickham, Jeanne-Marie C. Tonas and Danielle M. Lamotte, all of Manchester, and Lisa M. Lencki and Monique M. Auger, both of Goffstown; 14 grandchildren; a brother, Donald A. Auger; nieces and nephews.

McHugh Funeral Home of Manchester handled the arrangements.

CHARLES A. READE
WEARE – Charles A. Reade, 88, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, after a period of failing health.
Born in Weare on Sept. 28, 1916, he was the son of George H. and Alice (Gunn) Reade. He was a lifelong resident of Weare.

Mr. Reade had worked in the lumber business for many years. He was also a carpenter and served as a custodian for the Henniker School District for many years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed all sports.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Anita (Peaslee) Reade, in 1997.

Family members include two sons, Jackson C. Reade of Weare, and Daniel W. Reade of Stonington, Conn.; a daughter, Nancy (Reade) Sawyer of Weare; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Isabel Duxbury of Merrimack; several nieces and nephews. French & Rising Funeral Home of Goffstown handled the arrangements.

JEANNETTE M. BISCORNET
PEMBROKE – Mrs. Jean-nette M. (Pelletier) Biscornet, 92, a lifelong resident of the Pembroke-Allenstown area, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at Epsom Manor Health Care Center.
Born in Pembroke on July 25, 1912, she was the daughter of Alfred and Cordelia (Duclos) Pelletier.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the Brookshire Mills in Manchester, which later became known as the Pandora Mills.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo H. Biscornet, in 1986.

Family members include three sisters, Ida Leveille and Rose Houle, both of Epsom, and Estelle Desrochers of South-bridge, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.

Petit Funeral Home of Pembroke handled the arrangements.

ROBERT E. DAY JR.
BEDFORD – Robert E. “Bobby” Day Jr., 26, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
Born in Manchester on Nov. 3, 1978, he was the son of Robert and Deborah (Helmuth) Day of Bedford. He had been a lifelong resident of the Manchester area.

He enjoyed bowling and had participated in the Special Olympics. He was the 1984 poster child for Easter Seals.

In addition to his parents, family members include his paternal grandparents, William and Mary Day of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; two sisters, Angela Willey of Germany, and Whitney Day of Bedford; several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A memorial gathering will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester.

PRISCILLA A. HAYES
BEDFORD – Priscilla Ann (Meszler) Hayes, 75, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester, after a sudden illness.
Born in North Stueben, N.Y., on Sept. 10, 1929, she was the daughter of Lewie and Marion (Crill) Meszler. She lived in Waynesboro, Va., and Leo-minster, Mass., for many years before moving to Bedford 11 years ago.

Mrs. Hayes was salutatorian of the Class of 1946 at Holland Patent High School in Holland Patent, N.Y. She worked at the Rome, N.Y., Trust Company for three years, then at Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., where she met her husband. She also worked at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., and Sears in Leominster, Mass. She volunteered with numerous organizations throughout her life, including several churches and the Leominster Hospital. She was active in helping many friends. She was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

Family members include her husband of 54 years, Leonard Hayes of Bedford; two sons, Dr. Terry Hayes of Weymouth, Mass., and Gary Hayes and his wife Margaret of Bedford; two grandchildren, Garrison Hayes and Christian Hayes, both of Bedford; two brothers, Lewie Meszler Jr. and his wife Patricia of Herkimer, N.Y., and Raymond Meszler and his wife Charlotte of Spencerport, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Martha Meszler of Mohawk, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Clifton Meszler.

She was very proud of her chosen job as homemaker and mother of her sons. She was also a proud and devoted wife and grandmother and was greatly loved for her contributions in peoples’lives.

ARTHUR BOUCHER SR.
BEDFORD – Arthur Boucher Sr., 84, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.
Born in Peterborough on July 20, 1920, he was the son of David and Blanche (Dubois) Boucher. He had been a Manchester resident most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Boucher worked as a glazer for United Plate Glass Co. for several years. In recent years, he worked as a currier for Accurate Title.

He had been a member of the Alpine Club.

He was predeceased by his wife, Arline A. (Milne) Boucher, in 2000.

Family members include a son, Arthur Boucher Jr., of Manchester; a daughter, Carol A. DeCola of Bedford; three grandchildren, Jill Conrad, Karen Desrochers and Kevin Boucher; three great-grandchildren, Jacob Desrochers, Jenna Desrochers and Ethan Boucher; a sister, Theresa Milne of Manchester; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

SAMUEL E. PHILLIPS JR.
BEDFORD – Samuel E. Phillips Jr., 86, of Bedford and Naples, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at a Manchester hospital.
Born in Greencastle, Pa., on May 14, 1918, he was the son of Samuel E. Sr. and Isabel Snyder Phillips.

He graduated from Hagers-town High School in 1936 and Colgate University in 1940.

During World War II, he served in the South Pacific with the 543rd Engineer Amphibian Regiment.

Mr. Phillips worked for his father at the Hagerstown Morning Herald and Daily Mail. From 1950 until 1962, he was a vice president and general manager of United Broadcasting Co. in Hagerstown where, until 1962, he operated radio station WARK. In 1962, he formed the United Cable Co. of New Hampshire, retiring in 1987.

He was a former director and vice president of the Manchester Kiwanis Club, a past president of the board of directors of the Manchester YMCA, and a former board member of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Manchester Country Club. During the 1960s, he was the coach of the Manchester swim team. He enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting, and was an avid Red Sox and football fan.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Jean H. Hofmann Phillips, in 1997.

Family members include a son, Samuel E. Phillips III, and his wife, Kathryn, of Bedford; a daughter, Lynn Dee Rush, and her husband, John, of Hooksett; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack M. Phillips of Winchester, Va.

SYLVIA K. MATTESON
HYANNIS, Mass. – Sylvia K. (Straghan) Matteson, formerly of Bedford, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Barnstable, Mass.
Born in Winchester, Mass., she was the daughter of Sidney H.G. Straghan Sr. and Ermine Day Straghan.

She moved to Bedford after marrying Robert E. Matteson.

While living in Bedford, she taught kindergarten at the preschool of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

After her husband died in 1970, she moved to Cape Cod, Mass., where she raised their daughter and worked for the Department of Employment and Training.

All who met her were enriched by her character and kind heart.

Family members include a daughter, Robyn L. Tsouros-Matteson of Hyannis; a sister, Marilyn S. Groden of Centerville, Mass.; a brother, Sidney H.G. Straghan Jr. of Woodstock, Vt.; nieces and nieces.
