FRANCES R. LIVINGSTON
GOFFSTOWN - Frances R. Livingston, 63, died Sept. 20, 2005, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 8, 1942, in Cambridge, Mass., to Paul and Edna (Duffy) Baker. She lived most of her life in Chester before moving to Goffstown three years ago.

Mrs. Livingston worked at Rockingham County Nursing Home as a certified nurse's aide for many years.

She was married to Robert Livingston, who died in August of this year.

Family members include three children, Elise J. Boudreau of Auburn, Denise A. Vetola of Gilmanton and Timothy J. Livingston of Sandown; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Baker of Quincy, Mass., and Patricia Dow of Somersville, Mass.; a brother, James Baker of Newburyport, Mass.; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association 10 Ferry St., Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301.

FLORENCE M. SCHMIDT
HOOKSETT - Florence M. (Knight) Schmidt, 78, died Sept. 19, 2005, at her home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1927, in Manchester to William and Florence (Gilbreth) Knight.

Mrs. Schmidt graduated from St. Joseph High School and later moved to Hooksett, where she lived for more than 50 years.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by several Manchester firms, including New England Telephone, RCL Labs and McQuade's.

Mrs. Schmidt was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Charles R. Schmidt, who died in 1998.

Family members include three children and their spouses, Darcia and Ray Montmarquet of Del Rio, Texas, Robin and Louis Nordle of Hooksett and Charles and Denise Schmidt of Pembroke; seven grandchildren, Christopher Nordle, Joshua Nordle, Amy Nordle Buelow, Sarah Nordle, Meghan Schmidt, Kaitlyn Schmidt and Zachary Schmidt; three great-grandchildren, Amelia and Sadie Nordle and Cassidy Buelow; a brother, William Knight; and a sister, Claire Wright of Cresent City, Calif.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army Kid's Cafe, 121 Cedar St. Manchester, NH 03101; or Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Girl's Campus 11600 South Longwood Drive, Chicago, IL 60643.

MAURICE ROBIE
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Maurice Robie, 83, died Sept. 15, 2005. He was born in Hooksett, N.H., to George W. and Annie Brown Robie.
Mr. Robie attended Hooksett schools, and graduated from Concord High School.

He was employed for 30 years by the New England Telephone Co.

Mr. Robie served as a Marine in World War II, and received the purple heart for wounds received at the battle of Guadalcanal. He retired to Phoenix in 1979.

Family members include his wife of 59 years, Barbara Crawford Robie, of Phoenix; two daughters, Darlene Hall of Brookfield, Conn., and Donna Radrick of Phoenix; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Floyd B. Robie of Hooksett; and several nieces and nephews.

DEBORAH M. AUGER
BEDFORD - Deborah M. Auger, 55, died Sept. 18, 2005, at the Elliot Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 30, 1950, in Watertown, Mass., to Dr. and Mrs. Jerome Walker.

Mrs. Auger's greatest joy was her family, especially her new grandchildren.

After graduating from Manchester Memorial High School and Colby Sawyer College, she married William Auger of Manchester and moved to Malone, N.Y.

Mrs. Auger's love of family brought her back to New Hampshire in 1999 and she was employed at Saint Anselm College.

Aside from caring for everyone around her, she loved books, board games, crossword puzzles, cross-stitching and most recently, dog shows.

Mrs. Auger will be remembered for her welcoming smile, class and generosity. She was a full-time mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Jerome Walker and Mrs. Patricia Walker; and two brothers Jeff Walker and Ronald Walker.

Family members include her son, Todd and his wife, Christine, of Hooksett; two daughters, Stefani and Natalie of Bedford; two grandchildren, Ian and Najean; six sisters, Patricia Walker of Menlo Park, Calif., Constance Peacock of Bedford, Terry Haurd of Grand Rapids, Mich., Kathy Filion of Hooksett, and Christine Lagasse of Manchester, and Valerie Fisher of Goffstown; two brothers, Kenneth Walker of Bedford and Jeremy Walker of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline, MA 02455-7295.

DENNIS E. CLARK
PITTSFIELD – Dennis E. Clark, 66, of Leavitt Road, died Sept. 21, 2005, at Concord Hospice House after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Epsom to Carroll and Viola (Stockbridge) Clark and lived in Epsom, Chichester and Pittsfield all his life.

Mr. Clark was a self-employed master carpenter and cabinet maker. He was a longtime member of the Pittsfield Fire Department, having served as a captain. He was also an elected fire ward. HE was a member of First Congregational Church in Pittsfield.

Family members include his wife, Catherine (Neal) Clark of Pittsfield; a son, Dennis R. Clark of New Boston; a daughter, Diane Matott of Chichester; two grandchildren, two brothers, Leslie Clark of Chester and William Clark of Epsom; two sisters, Arlene Fleury of Suncook and Rosalie Clough of Florida; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to Concord Hospice House 250 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.

Perkins and Pollard Memorial Home handled the arrangements.

PATRICIA R. GOODNOW
PEMBROKE – Patricia R. Goodnow, 52, died Sept. 22, 2005, at her home on Prospect Street after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born July 15, 1953, in Stoneham, Mass., to John and Ruth (Galvin) Judge Sr. She spent some time in Londonderry before recently returning to Pembroke.

Mrs. Goodnow was employed as a dietary manager for Alexander Eastman Hospital in Derry and also spent 10 years as a dietary aide for the Allenstown School District.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Family members include her husband of 29 years, Bradley Goodnow Jr. of Pembroke; two children, Bridget Mary Lee and Andrew Robert Goodnow, both of Manchester; two brothers, John Judge Jr. of Long Boat Key, Fla., and Terrance Judge of Pembroke; and several nieces and nephews.

LISA JEAN MATHEWS
ALLENSTOWN – Lisa Jean Mathews, 40, died Sept. 23, 2005, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Raymond.
She was born Aug. 10, 1965, in Manchester to Gerard Dufresne and Jeannie (Erskine) Dufresne.

Mrs. Mathews attended Manchester Central High School.

She lived in Ohio for a time and was a resident of Allenstown for the past several years. Mrs. Mathews worked at the Yard Restaurant.

She was a caring and kind mom, daughter and sister, and was loved by all her friends. She was known for her love of animals.

Family members include two children, Christopher Mathews of Grove City, Ohio, and Courtney Mathews of Allenstown; her father, Gerard Dufresne, and his wife, Jacqueline, of Candia; her mother, Jeannie Dufresne of Manchester; a sister, Amy Dufresne of Manchester; two half-brothers, Jared and Jason Dufresne of Candia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

IRVING THOR ARNTZ
BEDFORD - Irving Thor Arntz, 88, died peacefully at home on Dec. 16, 2005, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Nov. 2, 1917, in New York City to Thor and Wilhelmina Schniedewind Arntzon. He lived most of his life in Bernardsville, N.J. Mr. Arntz was a 1936 graduate of Bernards High School.

Upon completion of school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Air Force Division, spending his last year of service in the Pacific, aboard the aircraft carrier U's's. Shangri-La.

After his discharge from the Navy, Mr. Arntz owned a dairy distributorship for 20 years under the name Sonny Arntz, Inc. Before retiring in 1998, he owned and operated, "Bedminster Limousine."

While residing in New Jersey, he was a past Exalted Ruler and life member of the Somerset Hills Elks Lodge #1983, a Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6540, and a member of the Bernardsville Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Church of St. John on the Mountain.

While living for the last seven years in Nashua, Mr. Arntz became a member of the Mayor's Senior Citizen Task Force, was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, president of the Resident's Association at Hunt Community and graduated from the Nashua Police Academy for Seniors. Due to his passion for the Hunt Community, he was actively involved in their marketing program and became known to many as the "Mayor of Hunt," personally greeting and spending time with every new resident.

He was a devoted husband.

He was also adored and will be missed by four grandchildren.

Mr. Arntz was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Arntz Reeves.

Family members include his wife of 56 years, Eileen Condra Arntz; a brother, Arthur A. Arntz of Arizona; sons, Stephen Arntz and his wife, Connie, of San Roman, Calif., Donald Arntz of Randolph, N.J., and Chris Arntz of Lebanon, N.J.; and a daughter, Dorothy (Dodie) Arntz Cameron and her husband, Randy, of Bedford; four grandchildren, Chip, Brian, and Katie Cameron and Heather Arntz; and a greatgrandson, Michael Cameron.

ALVINE CYR GAHAGAN
BEDFORD - Alvine Cyr Gahagan, 95, died Dec. 13, 2005, at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, after a period of declining health.
She was born Nov. 21, 1910, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Vital and Felicite (Bernier) Cyr. She graduated in 1932 from Edmonton General Hospital.

Mrs. Gahagan was a public health nurse in Alberta, Canada, VNA nurse in East Chicago, Ind., president of Cerebral Palsy of Indiana and, prior to her retirement, she was a supervisor at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. She was acclaimed as a famous public health nurse in Canada, writing her autobiography, "Yes Father," a collector's book.

Mrs. Gahagan was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford and a member of Woman's Guild. A member of both Cyr Association and Bernier Family Association, she was known as a caring humanitarian, a genealogies and an organic gardener.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Porter Gahagan, who died in 1998; a brother, Leo Cyr; and a sister, Laura Cyr Armstrong.

Family members include a daughter, Yvonne Gahagan Cyr Bresnahan of Bedford and Sean Bresnahan of Deerfield; two granddaughters, Monique Bresnahan Smith of Auburn, Ga., Renee Bresnahan Sullivan of Flowery Branch, Ga.; four greatgrandchildren, Linda Sullivan, Tess Smith, Ian Bresnahan and Owen Bresnahan; a sister, Ida Cyr Guenette of British Columbia and many cousins in Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, and New Brunswick.

Memorial donations may be made to Pediatric Department at Catholic Medical Center, 100 McGregor St., Manchester, NH 03102; or to Franco-American Center, 52 Concord St., Manchester, NH 03101.

NANCY E. JONES
BEDFORD – Nancy E. Jones, RN, 53, died Dec. 13, 2005, at Elliot Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 19, 1952, in Brighton, Mass. to John and Marion Cady. She resided in Andover, Mass., before moving to Bedford in 1988.

Mrs. Jones graduated from St. Columbkille High School in Brighton and earned a nursing degree from Mount Auburn School of Nursing.

She was a registered nurse in the neonatal in the neonatal intensive care unit at Brigham and Womens Hospital for 20 years. Later, she was the school nurse at Peter Woodbury School and Riddle Brook School.

Mrs. Jones was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church.

She enjoyed flower gardening.

Family members include her husband of 22 years, William M. Jones of Bedford; a daughter, Laura E. Jones of Bedford; a son, Peter M. Jones of Bedford; three brothers, John Cady of Wrentham, Mass., Thomas Cady of Walpole, Mass., and David Cady of Brighton; three sisters, Barbara Prendergast of Walpole, Mary Monroe of Mountonborough, and Patricia Noonan of Norton, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and an aunt.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 State Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
