RICHARD C. HEIN
BEDFORD – Richard C. Hein, 77, died July 31, 2006, surrounded by family after a period of declining health.
He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Worcester, Mass., to Willard E. and Pauline (Sorenson) Hein.

He graduated from Lawrence Academy, Groton, Mass., in 1948.

Mr. Hein was employed for many years as a salesman for a variety of companies, including Worcester Mutual Fire Insurance Company in Massachusetts, G.A. Berg Insurance Agency, of which he was the owner; Shepherd and Morse Lumber Company in Massachusetts, Simmons Precision Products in Vermont, Thayer Advertising in New Jersey, and most recently, Innovative Imaging in Chichester.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in Yokahama, Japan, as corporal in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1952 to 1954. He was a passionate golfer, and an avid Red Sox fan, who also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and many dear friends.

Mr. Hein belonged to Morning Star Masonic Lodge F&A. M., Worcester, Mass.; and was a 25-year member of Hoodkroft Country Club in Derry.

Family members include his companion of 21 years, Carol M. Everett of Bedford; two sons, James Edward Hein of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Andrew Willard Hein of Derry; a daughter, Robin Suzanne Thornton of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial donation may be made to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 114 Perimeter Road, Unit G&H, Nashua, NH 03063.

Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium assisted the family with arrangements.

NORMAN O. WRIGHT
SARASOTA, Fla. – Norman Otis Wright, 86, died July 26, 2006.
He was born Sept. 24, 1919, in Chelmsford, Mass., to Otis and Versa (Jordan) Wright. He was educated in Massachusetts and attended Lowell Technical School in Massachusetts.

Mr. Wright was a World War II Navy veteran. In 1950 he moved his family to Manchester, N.H., where he founded Wright Electric Motors in 1951.

After his retirement in 1970 he and his wife, “Peg,” traveled extensively in the United Stated, as well as many other countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Mr. Wright wintered in New Port Richey for many years before moving to Florida permanently in 1994. He served as president for many years of the Magnolia Valley Condo Association, New Port Richey. Last fall he moved to Sarasota to be closer to family.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather.

He lived a long and productive life, loved his family and always made decisions in the best interest of his family.

His life was well lived and his family can take comfort in the fact that he is where he wants to be, with his “Peg.”

Mr. Wright was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Margaret (Drake) Wright, who died in 2001; and a brother, Stanley Wright.

Family members include two sons, Clifford A. and his wife, Rose, of Sarasota and Russell N. and his wife, Nancy, of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Estella Forty of Goffstown, N.H.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to a local hospice.

RUTH EVELYN LAVOIE
ALLENSTOWN – Ruth Evelyn (Knight) Lavoie, 79, of Main Street died July 29, 2006, at the Concord Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born April 3, 1927, in Concord to Charles E. and Ruth (Richard) Knight. She was raised in Allenstown and graduated from Pembroke Academy and New Hampshire Technical Institute’s School of Nursing.

Mrs. Lavoie worked as a nurse at Concord Hospital and volunteered with the Tri-Town Ambulance Service.

In 1948 she married Gerry Lavoie, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage and raised five children. The couple’s philanthropy was well-known in the surrounding area as Gerry and Evelyn gave generously to many individuals and local organizations.

The Lavoie Foundation was founded in 1998 to continue their tradition of giving.

Mrs. Lavoie loved life and faced each day with a sweet and joyful spirit. She was a member of the DAR and Sunrise Baptist Church. A devout Christian, she was active in her church and volunteered at the Care Net Pregnancy Center and the local soup kitchen.

She loved her garden and the outdoors, and she enjoyed music and playing her piano. She delighted in the company of her mischievous cat, Micah. Mrs. Lavoie was generous and kind and cherished by all who knew her.

A most loving wife and mother, her home and family were her lifelong joy and passion. She was predeceased by her two sons, John M. Lavoie in 1982 and Don C. Lavoie in 2001, and by her husband in 2002.

Family members include three daughters, Joanne Ryan of Allenstown, Judy Race of Loudon and Patti Sanborn of Barnstead; two daughters-inlaw, Donna Sonberg of Bow and Mary Lavoie of Fairfax, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Greater Concord, 7 Greenwood Ave., Concord, NH 03301.

JOAN J. ST. GERMAIN
ALLENSTOWN – Mrs. Joan J. (Zona) St. Germain, 63, died July 28, 2006, at her home on Granite Street after a sudden illness.
She was born July 13, 1943, in Franklin to John and Erma (Fancy) Zona Jr. She was an Allenstown resident since her marriage in 1971. Mrs. St. Germain earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett and taught for 32 years at the Walker School in Concord until her retirement in 1997.

Mrs. St. Germain enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping and traveling, and she was a NASCAR fan.

Family members include her husband of 35 years, Paul St. Germain of Allenstown; a brother, John Zona III of Florida; and nieces and nephews.

THERESA MAYNARD
NASHUA – Theresa Maynard, 82, of Nashua, died July 27, 2006, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 1, 1924, to Louis Philippe Larochelle and Emerensienne (Arsenault) Larochelle of Thedford Mines, Canada. She was a resident of Nashua for 56 years.

“Terry,” as she was known by friends and acquaintances, came to the United States in 1950 as the bride of Ovila A. Maynard.

She taught herself English, earned her GED and became an American citizen.

In addition to raising a family, Mrs. Maynard was an accomplished seamstress and later worked at Sanders Associates and Kollsman Instruments in Nashua. Her energy, courage, compassion and positive attitude were an inspiration to all whose lives she touched.

Family members include her husband of 56 years, Ovila Maynard; a daughter, Sandra Marrinucci of Bedford; sons Dick Maynard and his wife, Toni, of Merrimack and John Maynard and his wife, Lynette, of Cotopaxi, Colo.; granddaughters, Dena Marrinucci, Sarah Brinson and Kristina Maynard; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Madison and Paris Brinson; sisters Marguerite Dube, Michelle St. Jean, Rita Larochelle of Granby, Canada, and Huguette Barabe of Vermont; and brothers, Jules-Alfred (Bob), Rene (Larry), Patrice, and Pierre Larochelle also of Granby.

A Christian burial service will take place at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Nashua on Friday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m.

GEORGE E. ROBERTS
HOOKSETT – George E. Roberts, 89, died Aug. 1, 2006, in Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Lowell, Mass., to George and Yvonne (Henault) Roberts.

He resided in New Hampshire since age 9.

Mr. Roberts attended the University of New Hampshire and Lowell Technical Institute.

He was personnel director of Amoskeag Fabrics and later joined American Mutual Insurance Co., where he retired in 1984 as vice president and New Hampshire workman compensation hearing officer. He served as president of the New Hampshire Industrial Management Association, New Hampshire Claim Managers Association and Portland (Maine) Claim Managers Association.

Mr. Roberts was an active member of SPEBSQSA, sang in five championship quartets; during retirement, he was music director of the Concord and Palm Harbor, Fla., chapters.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church and a member of the Legion of Thousand Men.

Family members include his wife of 65 years, Hedwig (Wydra) Roberts; daughters, Beverly Cote of Hooksett and Fay Pryzbyla of Bedford; a son, Kenneth Roberts of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilfred Brunette of Manchester, Rene Brunette of Florida and Paul Brunette of Manchester; a sister, Dorothy Loughlin of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.

GERMAINE B. LINDH
HOOKSETT – Germaine B. Lindh, 87, died Aug. 6, 2006, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 2, 1918, in Valley Junction, Quebec, Canada, to Adelard and Eva (Dorian) Bisson. She was a resident of the Hooksett area for 60 years.

In addition to raising her family, Mrs. Lindh worked as an Avon sales representative for many years. She was a member of the Hooksett-ites and an officer an past president of American Legion Auxiliary 37. She was a longtime communicant of St. Catherine Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, George H. Lindh, this year.

Family members include three daughters, Barbara Bouchard of Manchester, Carol Papp of Fairfield, Conn., and Joanne Thompson of Black Forest, Colo.; two sons, George W. Lindh of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michael Lindh of Hooksett; nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Merrill Follansbee Post 37, 5 Riverside Drive, Hooksett, 03106.

ISADORE J. PIASECZNY SR.
HOOKSETT – Isadore J. Piaseczny Sr., 87, died Aug. 1, 2006, at a local health care facility.
He was born May 10, 1919, in Manchester to Karol and Aniela (Bieniek) Piaseczny. He was educated in local schools.

Prior to retiring at age 72, Mr. Piaseczny owned and operated Piaseczny Builders Inc. for many years.

He was a member of Hooksett Men’s Club, Deerhead Club and Pulaski Club. He enjoyed hunting, farming and gardening.

Mr. Piaseczny was predeceased by his wife, Anna (Zela) Piaseczny, who died in 2003.

Family members include two sons, John Piaseczny and his wife, Nicole, of Hooksett and Isadore J. Piaseczny Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Jane Lazar and friend, Tim Yaroscak, of Hooksett; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

LURA ABIGAIL LECAIN
EPSOM -- Lura Abigail LeCain, 103, died Aug. 9, 2006, at Epsom Health Center.
She was born April 15, 1903, to Emma Alvina (Murray) French and Scott French of East Concord.

She was educated in Concord schools, graduating from Concord High School, Class of 1921. She then graduated from Plymouth Normal School in Plymouth with a teaching degree in English and music.

Mrs. LeCain taught in Rumney elementary school and also taught music in Plymouth.

On June 18, 1924, she married William “Bill” Frost Cate.

They raised five children, two daughters and three sons.

In 1957, she married Cecil LeCain. She lived on Josiah Bartlett Road until she became a resident of Epsom Manor in 2000. She celebrated her 100th birthday there in 2003.

Mrs. LeCain made quilts and knitted or crocheted afghans for many of her family members in the past 15 to 20 years.

She enjoyed cultivating her vegetable gardens, raising turkeys, sewing, quilting and knitting.

As a member of the East Congregational Church in East Concord, she served as church clerk, choir director and organist.

Later, she became a member of West Congregational Church.

She was predeceased by her husbands, William “Bill” Frost Cate, who died in 1953 and Cecil LeCain, who died in 1978; children, Milton “Bud” Cate of Penacook, who died in 1993; Solon S. Cate of Tilton, who died in 1982; Lloyd W. Cate of Allenstown, who died in 1998; a sister, Nellie Banker of Penacook; and a foster brother, Dean French.

Family members include a sister, Miriam (French) Vining, 101, of Florida; children, Charlotte (Cate) Bunker of Barnstead and Virginia (Cate) Call of Odessa, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 18 greatgreat- grandchildren, including two sets of twins; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
