PHILIP G. PETERS
AUBURN – Philip G. Peters, 84, formerly of Manchester, died Oct. 25, 2006, at Villa Crest Nursing Facility.
He was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Franklin to George and Christina (Themistocles) Peters. He graduated from Franklin High School and the University of New Hampshire, cum laude in 1943. At UNH he was managing editor of the university school newspaper.

Mr. Peters was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He married Stella Gagne on Jan. 6, 1946, and they lived in Cambridge, Mass.

He graduated from Boston University Law School in 1948.

While in law school, he was editor of the Boston University Law Review. During 1948-49, he did graduate work at the Harvard Law School in labor and public utility law, completing his master of laws degree in 1949.

Mr. Peters was a member of the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bars, also the Federal Bar. He began a long law career with the firm of Wyman, Starr, Booth and Langdell attorneys, now Wadleigh, Starr and Peters, until his retirement at age 78.

He served as judge of the Auburn District Court from 1955 to 1981.

Mr. Peters lived nearly 60 years in the Manchester area, practicing law and raising three children with his wife, Stella. He became one of the most respected and admired trial attorneys in the state, in part because of his accomplished skills in the courtroom, but more so for his ability to relate well to jurors and peers alike. He was known as a man who valued fairness, honesty and integrity and exemplified these values in all that he did.

He was honored to be invited to join the International Society of Barristers and served as its president from 1974-75.

In 1966, Mr. Peters was elected to serve a two-year term as director of the International Lions Clubs.

He served as club president, zone chairman, deputy district governor and district governor. He received the Old Monarch 15 Year Award, the 100% District Governor Award and the Key Award.

In addition to his Lions Activities, Mr. Peters served as vice president of the Citizens for Better Education, president of the University of New Hampshire 100 Club and president of the Webster Elementary School PTA and the Central High School Booster Club. He was also a 32- degree Mason of the Washington Lodge in Manchester.

He enjoyed badminton and tennis, loved history and dancing with his wife, and was a lover of fine foods (as well as Twinkies and Devil Dogs).

Family members include his wife of 60 years, Stella; three children, Philip Peters Jr. of Columbia, MO., Gregory Peters of Hopkinton; five granddaughters, Natalie Peters, Anna Dimitriadis, Adrienne Peters, Jillian Peters and Mackenzie Peters; a brother, Alexander Peters; and several cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club in Goffstown.

BERNICE A. ANDERSON
BEDFORD – Bernice A. Anderson, 97, formerly of Auburn, died Oct. 20, 2006.
She was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Lynn, Mass., to Ernest and Margaret (McGinnis) Corson. She was an Auburn resident for many years.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Anderson was employed with New England Telephone Company.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl O. Anderson.

Family members include a son, David Corson Anderson and daughter-in-law, Susan Hammell Anderson of Auburn.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

GENEVIEVE ROZMUS
BEDFORD – Genevieve “Jennie” Rozmus, 92, died Oct. 17, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 8, 1914, in Pepperell, Mass., to Stanley and Helen (Zutowt) Jeglinski. She attended Nashua schools and Nashua Business College.

She worked for a time for J.F. McElwain and as a clerk for Leavitts Department Store. Prior to retirement, she worked for Jewell Electronics.

She was a member of St. Hedwig Church and the Bedford Senior Citizens.

Family members include a son, Jay G. Rozmus of Bedford.

JOHN W. MORTON
CANDIA – John W. Morton, 59, died accidentally Oct. 27, 2006, in Cozumel, Mexico, while scuba diving.
He was born Oct. 11, 1947, in Manchester to Jesse and Dorothy (Edwards) Morton. He graduated from Manchester Central High School in 1965 and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Plymouth State College in 1969.

During the Vietnam War, Mr. Morton served with the U.S. Army.

He was a certified property casualty manager with Cross/ Gordon and Powers Insurance Agency.

Mr. Morton was also an associate in risk management of the Insurance Institute of America, as well as a certified insurance counselor.

He was past-president of the New Hampshire Property Casualty Underwriter Society. He was a member of the board of directors of the Webster House and was active with the United Way.

Mr. Morton was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church, where he served as a vestry member and junior warden.

He lived life with joy and enthusiasm. He loved and cared for his family with all of his heart. For Mr. Morton, there was no greater joy than making others happy. He loved smiles and laughter.

A man of many interests, he enjoyed photography, kayaking, skiing, playing guitar, scuba diving and traveling.

Mr. Morton loved exploring his endlessly fascinating world, especially when he could share his experiences with his family and friends who were so dear to him.

He was the consummate professional, committed to excellence in serving his clients.

He also cared deeply for his coworkers and colleagues, whom he respected as professionals and friends.

Family members include his wife of 31 years, Jennifer L. (Ginn) Morton; a son, Joshua J. Morton of Somerville, Mass.; his father of Goffstown; sisters, Mrs. Timothy (Deborah) Kimball of New Boston and Margaret Murphy of Bedford; a brother, Mark Morton of San Diego, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Webster House, 135 Webster St., Manchester, NH 03104; or to Project AWARE Foundation, 30151 Tomas St., Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688.

BRENNAN COLBURN
WEARE – Brennan Colburn, 88, died Nov. 2, 2006, after a period of failing health.
He was born in Hillsborough to Frank and Grace (Patch) Colburn.

He was a resident of Weare for most of his life.

Mr. Colburn graduated from Weare High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, and was a member of Philbrick – Clement American Legion Post No. 65.

He was a storekeeper, operating the Colburn Brothers Store for more than 30 years.

He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 68 years, Doris Colburn.

Family members include four children, Nancy Taylor, Richard Colburn, Frank Colburn and Marie Bunton, all of Weare; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

French and Rising Funeral Home in Goffstown handled the arrangements.

PATRICIA ANN MOODY
HOOKSETT – Patricia Ann Moody, 68, died Oct. 27, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Boston to Charles Valade and Shirley (Robie) Valade.

Mrs. Moody retired from Electro Pack after 20 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching Red Sox games.

Family members include three daughters, Sandy Anderson of Deering and Patti Sliver and Lisa Moody, both of Hooksett; three sons, Wesley Ordway of Allenstown, Robert Ordway of Hooksett and Richard Ordway of Gilmanton Iron Works; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

CONRAD G. LABRIE
BEDFORD – Conrad G. Labrie, 80, died Oct. 23, 2006, at Hospice House in Concord.
He was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Manchester to Omer and Victoria (Melanson) and was a Manchester resident for 50 years before moving to Bedford 30 years ago.

Mr. Labrie attended Hevey Grammar School, St. Marie High School, St. Francis College in Biddeford, Maine, and graduated from St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Md., where he received a bachelor of arts degree.

He worked for 42 years at Pandora Industries, where he served as vice president of production control and inventory planning.

Mr. Labrie was also the owner of CON-DOR flea market and discount sore in Manchester for many years. After his retirement in 1990, he worked part-time as a bankruptcy court reporter for 14 years. He did volunteer work for New Horizon and as a guardian ad litem for CASA. He also gave a monthly Bible study class at Ridgewood Health Care Center for more than 15 years.

He served as treasurer and vice president of Full Gospel Business Men and as president of Bedford Senior Citizens group for several years. He also served on the Bedford Senior Advisory Committee.

Mr. Labrie was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Seton parish, where he taught 6th grade religious education for three years. He was a second degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 5260, Our Lady of the Cedars.

Family members include his wife, Jean (Sprague-Knisley) Labrie of Bedford; two daughters, Diane Gauthier of Goffstown and Ginger Higgins of Manchester; a son, Gary Labrie of Weare; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mary E. Knisley Moore of Leesburg, Fla.; a stepson, Reuben E. Knisley of Sanbornville; two sisters, Marie Pothier of Scarborough, Maine, and Jeanne Riel of Manchester; two brothers, Aime Labrie and Herve Labrie, both of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 1850 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03101; or to St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH 03110.

NATHALIE G. ADAMS
PEMBROKE -- Nathalie G. Adams, 91, formerly of Quincy, Mass., and Holbrook, Mass., died Oct. 30, 2006, from complications of Alzheimer’s disease at Merrimack County Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 6, 1915, in Winthrop, Mass., to Franklin and Florence (Ryan) Garrick of Quincy, where she lived most of her life, graduating from Quincy High School in 1933.

After retiring from the First National Bank of Boston, where Mrs. Adams worked for 25 years, she and her husband retired to Holbrook.

After his death in 2002, she moved to Pembroke with her daughter, Carol Anderson, until three months prior to her death.

Mrs. Adam loved church work and was a member of the Professional Women’s Club of Boston and the “Furnabank Club.”

She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Joseph, who died in 2002; a sister, Marian R. Chisholm; a brother, Daniel W. Garrick; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Adams.

Family members include a son, William Adams of Scarborough, Maine; a daughter, Carol Anderson and her husband, Chris, of Pembroke; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Episcopal Church, 322 S. Franklin St., Holbrook, MA, 02343.

ROBROY MACGREGOR
GOFFSTOWN – RobRoy MacGregor, 58, of Goffstown, died Dec. 3, 2006, at Catholic Medical Center of Manchester after a period of declining health.
He was born Feb. 7, 1948, in Hanover to David B. Sr. and Marion (Norcott) MacGregor.

He was raised and educated in Goffstown, and was a graduate of Goffstown High School in 1966. He lived most of his life in the Goffstown area.

Mr. MacGregor was employed as a shuttle driver with New England Shuttle Service of Salem. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Manchester, and was a long time member of the church’s Chancel Choir.

He was a member of the Masonic Temple Martha Washington Lodge of Goffstown, a former score keeper with the Tri-Mountain Basketball League, and past president of the New Hampshire Horseshoe League.

Mr. MacGregor treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also a longtime friend of Bill W. One of the greatest joy’s in his life was singing, all who knew him will forever miss his voice.

Members of the family include his wife, Reta MacGregor of Goffstown; his mother, Marion MacGregor of Goffstown; a sister, Beth Wagner of Dover; a brother, David B. MacGregor Jr. of Manchester; five stepchildren, Susan Chaffee-Hall of Tijeras, N.M., Arlon Chaffee of New Market, Sarah Chaffee of Bradford, Reta F. Chaffee of Goffstown; and Abigail Pandelena of Atkinson; eightgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a niece.

Memorial donations may be made to the Chancel Choir c/o the First Congregational Church of Manchester, 508 Union St., Manchester, NH 03101.
