DOROTHY DOUTHART
CONCORD – Dorothy “Dot” (Knight) Douthart, 89, of Concord died Nov. 24, 2007, at Pleasant View Center in Concord.

She was born June 1, 1918, in Arlington, Mass., to Urban C. Young and Hannah (Brooks) Young.

Mrs. Douthart enjoyed baking for her grandchildren, reading and frequent trips to the beaches around her longtime home in Centerville, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Douthart, who died in 1987; a brother, Foster Young; two sons, William Douthart and Richard Douthart.

Family members include sisters, Carol Chase of Marston Mills, Mass., and Clara Estelle Glenister of Freemont, Calif.; a daughter, Patricia Douthart of Burlington, Vt.; and several grandchildren.

LYNDA LOUISE BLUMBERG
GOFFSTOWN – Lynda Louise (Barrett) Blumberg died Dec. 7, 2007, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester after a sudden illness.

A former employee of Wang Labs and most recently a member of Citizens Bank in downtown Goffstown, she was respected and esteemed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Blumberg volunteered weekly at UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center in Goffstown, bringing joy to the children UpReach serves.

She was a long-time member of Derryfield Country Club, where she held a low handicap, enjoyed a hole-in-one and played whenever weather permitted, always walking her 18 holes.

She will be loved always and deeply missed by family and friends alike. Family members include her beloved husband, John of Goffstown; a nephew, Michael Barrett of Concord; a stepson and daughter-in-law, David and Gwen Blumberg of Medford, Mass.; and a grandson, Ty.

UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center in Goffstown handled the arrangements.

DEBORAH WEISBERG
BEDFORD – Deborah Ann (Crouse) Weisberg, 44, died Nov. 18, 2007, at home.

She was born Aug. 30, 1963, in Lowell, Mass., to Bruce Crouse and Janice F. (Webster) Crouse.

She was raised and educated in the Chelmsford, Mass., area and was graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

She was an executive with Expert Server Group of Bedford and lived in Bedford for the past four years. She enjoyed dance and was very involved in her daughter’s competitive dance team with Broadway Bound Dance Studio of Merrimack.

In addition to her mother of Manchester, family members include her husband, Douglas Weisberg of Merrimack; a daughter, Madelynne Weisberg of Merrimack; her maternal grandmother, Joyce Benjamin of Chelmsford, Mass.; two stepsons, Jacob Weisberg of Merrimack and Jesse Weisberg of Amherst; a brother, David Crouse of Pepperell, Mass.; a stepbrother, Brian Paquin of Tuftonboro; and a stepmother, Judith Crouse of Tuftonboro.

George R. Rivet Funeral Home in Merrimack handled the arrangements.

DANIEL M. BOND
EPSOM – Daniel M. Bond, 50, of River Road, died Nov. 25, 2007, at Concord Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Concord to the late Walter K. Bond Sr. and June (Barker) Bond of Concord.

Mr. Bond attended Concord schools and was known to his family and friends as “Mr. Fix-it.”

He owned and operated Dan’s Audio in Hooksett for several years before illness caused his early retirement.

He was a beloved father and grandfather and an avid hunter and fisherman.

In addition to his mother, family members include his wife, Sarah (Daby) Bond of Epsom; a son, Clinton Edinger of Epsom; a daughter, Monica Edinger of Pembroke; two granddaughters, Savannah and Rahni; three brothers, Walter, Mark and Brad Bond; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Sarah Bond, 360 River Road, Epsom, NH 03234.

FRANK D. GIBBS
CONCORD – Frank D. Gibbs, 71, of Concord, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at home after a period of failing health.

He was born May 27, 1936, in Goffstown, and was the son of Russell F. and Dorothy (Brown) Gibbs. He was raised and educated in Goffstown and was a 1955 graduate of Goffstown High School.

Mr. Gibbs served in the Air Force as a radio technician from 1955 to 1958.

Mr. Gibbs was disabled at a young age, but worked at several different jobs in the Concord area. He was a resident of Concord for the past 40 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and his sister.

Members of his family include three brothers, Alfred Gibbs of Contoocook, Gerald Gibbs of Lancaster, Pa., and Charles Gibbs of Goffstown.

French and Rising Funeral Home in Goffstown handled the arrangements.

DOROTHY D. REED
CONCORD – Dorothy D. Reed, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at the Hospice House in Concord surrounded by her family.

She was born in Concord to Alfred and Irene (Porter) Dane.

She lived in the Concord area all of her life, attending the local schools and graduate from Concord High School with the class of 1950.

Mrs. Reed was a homemaker and did a lot of her own gardening and canning for her own vegetables.

She was a very talented cook and baker as well. She was very skilled at other crafts too, such as crocheting and making braided rugs, which family members have in their homes.

One of her favorite pastimes was spending quality time with family and grandchildren, as well as playing bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods.

She is predeceased by three brothers, Alfred Dane Jr., Walter Dane and Wesley Dane; and a sister, Irene Sargent.

Family members include her husband of 34 years, Les Reed of Concord; three sons, Dane Prescott of Concord, Ralph Prescott of Manchester and Gary Prescott of Penacook; two stepdaughters, Sylvia Sabian of Windham, Maine, and Sheila Kreik of Concord; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Johnson of Concord; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association Hospice House Program or Hospice Home Care Program, P.O. Box 1797, Concord, NH 03302.

JOHN J. O’HARA
BEDFORD – John J. O’Hara, 77, died Dec. 6, 2007, at Elliot Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born April 3, 1930, in Scranton, Pa., to Francis and Gertrude (Lunney) O’Hara. He resided in Manchester for many years before moving to Bedford 25 years ago.

In 1951, Mr. O’Hara earned a degree in classics and literature from the University of Scranton. He also earned a master’s degree in philosophy from Georgetown University in 1955. He was a doctoral candidate at Fordham University.

Mr. O’Hara served with the United States Marine Corps. Until his retirement, he was a professor of philosophy at Notre Dame College, where he also served as chairman of the humanities department for 38 years.

Mr. O’Hara had extraordinary command of the English language. He was an accomplished Irish tenor who performed numerous concerts at Notre Dame College. He enjoyed sailing and was an avid reader.

He was predeceased by his former wife, Marilyn “Marny” (Long) O’Hara.

Family members include his wife of 24 years, Beth Ann (Halpin) O’Hara of Bedford; two sons, Matthew O’Hara of Hooksett and Michael T. O’Hara of Manchester; two daughters, Rosamond “Rosie” O’Hara of Raleigh, N.C., and Kathleen “Kate” Duval of Raleigh; 10 grandchildren; three step-daughters, Rabbi Susan Abramowitz-Silverman of Eilat, Israel, Laura Silverman and Sarah Silverman, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Timothy O’Hara of Collegeville, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and an aunt.

The Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Manchester handled the arrangements.

MARTHA D. MIHALKO
EPSOM – Martha D. “Martie” Mihalko, 65, died Nov. 19, 2007, at home, following a lengthy illness.

She was born Nov. 2, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Salve and Loretta (Anderson) Salveson. She was also raised by her stepfather, James Peterson.

Early in her life, Mrs. Mihalko was employed as a nurse.

She was a president of the Razorbacks Pop Warner Football of Pelham–Windham.

Family members include her husband, Robert S. Mihalko of Epsom; four sons, Robert S. Mihalko of Hillsborough, Reid S. Milhalko of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Peter Peterson, of Darien Conn., and James Peterson of Coral Gables, Fla.; two sisters, Lynn Masterson of New York City and Kathy Lanzalotta of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.

WILLIAM D. KULA
ALLENSTOWN – William D. Kula, 63, died Nov. 27, 2007, at Epsom Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Laconia to Stanley and Maude (Aldrich) Kula Prior to his illness, Mr. Kula worked for Havenwoods Nursing Home in Concord.

Family members include his wife of 35 years, Donna (Prince) Kula of Epsom; two brothers, Roger A. Kula of Florida and Albert S. Kula of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.

Boufford Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

ELIZABETH WALSH CROMBIE
HOOKSETT – Elizabeth (Mae) Walsh Crombie, 92, of Hooksett, died Jan. 29, 2008, at the Concord Hospice House following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

She was born Oct. 29, 1915, in Manchester to Donald and Mary (Sinclair) Murray. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central High School in 1933.

Her professional life included positions as a secretary for Paul Rouseau of Dunn and Bradstreet, then as Paul Nouire’s private secretary at the law firm of Wiggin and Nourie. Finally, she was a part-time secretary for the American Cancer Society.

As a lifetime member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church of Manchester until it closed, Mrs. Crombie participated in the church’s Forthnightly Club, Unity Circle, Blue Ribbon Class and was also a Sunday school teacher.

She was a Cub Scout den mother and also the secretary for the Central High School football booster club.

She was a lifetime member, and chief daughter of the Heather Bell Lodge of the Daughter’s of Scotia in Manchester, as well as a member of the Bon Accord Lodge in Massachusetts.

Upon moving to Hooksett in the ’80’s, Mrs. Crombie became a member of the Congregational Church of Hooksett and was active in the Woman’s Fellowship and Bible Study Groups.

She joined the Hooksett-ites senior group and was recording secretary for many years as well as chaplain and second vice president.

She was an active member of the Hooksett-ite Entertainers, a group which entertained at nursing homes and other places in the area. She was a member of the Rebekah’s Acorn Lodge of Hooksett.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas H. Crombie.

Family members include four children, Gail Barker, Scott Walsh and Thomas Crombie, all of Hooksett, and Donald Crombie of Texas; six grandchildren, Charles Barker of Plymouth, Scott Barker of Hooksett, Jason Walsh of Londonderry, Kimberly Warenda of Manchester and Ian and Amber Crombie of Texas; 10 great grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Hooksett on Veteran’s Drive on Feb. 23, at 11 a.m., officiated by Pastor Dave Richardson.
