Gould S. Richmond

EXETER - Gould Spoffard Richmond, 88, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at The Lodge at RiverWoods.

He was born April 20, 1912, in Byron, Maine, and had resided in Orford before moving to Exeter in 1995.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hilda (Lynch) Richmond of Exeter; two sons, Robert G. Richmond of Kingwood, W.V., and Peter H. Richmond of Schwabish Gemund, Germany; one daughter, Roberta Jenkins of Wadmalaw Island, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A family gathering will be held this summer in Orford.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rivendell School District, Orford, NH 03777.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Theresa M. Bradbrook

KINGSTON - Theresa May Bradbrook, 80, of Exeter Road, died Friday, March 2, 2001, in Somerville (Mass.) Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Everett, Mass., the daughter of the late Frederick and Mildred (Dulong) Hemeon and had resided in Kingston for 37 years.

She was a 1938 graduate of Everett High School.

Mrs. Bradbrook was an operator for the I.B.M. Computer Co., Boston for several years and later worked as an aide at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.

She was a member of Brentwood Baptist and the Exeter Walking Club.

The widow of Robert Bradbrook, who died March 15, 2000, she is survived by one daughter, Susan Pescione of Everett; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, Teddy White, who died in 1987; one daughter, Patricia McLaughlin, who died in 1999; one sister; and two brothers.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Brentwood Baptist Church, 201 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833 or to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.

Harold E. Dietsch

EXETER - Harold E. Dietsch, 93, of 14 Beech Hill Road, died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born March 12, 1907, in Manchester, the son of the late Emil G. and Anna (Wyman) Dietsch. He was raised in Manchester and had resided in Exeter for 28 years, moving here from Stratham.

He was educated in Manchester Schools.

Mr. Dietsch was a machinist at the Exeter Manufacturing Co. from 1950 until retiring in 1977. He was previously employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Yvonne B. (Abel) Dietsch of Exeter; two sons, Paul A. Dietsch and Carl E. Dietsch; two grandchildren; and one niece.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. After cremation burial will be in Central Cemetery, Rye.

Arrangements are by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.

Joan B. Hawkins

HAMPTON - Joan B. Hawkins, 65, of 64 Hampton Towne Estates, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at her home.

She was born July 16, 1935, in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Ames) Bubar. She resided in Maine, moving to Hampton in 1965.

She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School and received her associate's degree in business administration from Simmons College, Boston.

Mrs. Hawkins was a hostess/dining room supervisor at the Galley Hatch Restaurant in Hampton since 1978.

She was a 44 year member of the Goodwill Chapter No. 85, Order of Easter Star of Fort Fairfield, which later became the Lunar Chapter No. 126 O.E.S. of Fort Fairfield.

She enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, reading and the theater.

The widow of Capt. Jerry Hawkins, (U.S.A.F.) who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1965, she is survived by two sons, Jerry P. Hawkins of Colchester, Conn., and Jeff A. Hawkins of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Barbara and Wendell Shaw of Fort Fairfield; one brother-in-law, Bart Damon of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Priscilla Damon and Phyllis McKinley.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lunar Chapter of the O.E.S. No. 126, c/o Barbara Shaw, 162 Presque Isle Road, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742.

Peter D. Jennings

RYE - Peter D. Jennings, 61, of 601 Brackett Road, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, in York Hospital after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.

He was born March 19, 1939, in Brattleboro, Vt., the son of the late Granville "Jim" and Roberta "Bobby" (Kelly) Jennings and was raised in Rye. He wintered in Don Pedro Island, Fla.,

He was a 1958 graduate of Portsmouth High School and attended Newman Prep School, Boston.

He served with the U.S. Coast Guard as an electronics technician for four years. He was stationed in Adak, Alaska where he saw 13 months of isolation.

Mr. Jennings was the president and founder of Power Sound of New England., a 31-year-old business specializing in church sound systems.

He was a ham radio operator for many years. He enjoyed travel and recently completed a cross-country road trip. He enjoyed sailing off the coast of Maine and gardening.

He was a former member of the Portsmouth Country Club; the Portsmouth Yacht Club; and the Down East Yacht Club, Bath, Maine.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gloria F. (Epperson) Jennings of Rye; one son and his wife, Troy D. and Jennifer Jennings of Kittery, Maine; four daughters, Kelley K. Jennings of Kittery, Kim J. Whaley of Exeter, Kristy L. Jennings and Kerry K. Kennings, both of Belair, Calif.; five grandchildren; one brother, Granville E. "Ned" Jennings of Bangor, Maine; one sister, Rhoda Herrick of Mechanic Falls, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette road, Hampton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Rye Congregational Church, Washington Road, Rye. Burial will be in central Cemetery, Rye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Colon Cancer Research, c/o American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Kevin K. King

RYE BEACH - Kevin K. King, 87, of Straw's Point, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born May 30, 1913, in Manchester the son of Albert and Sophie (Bobro) King.

Mr. King was the founder of King Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Exeter.

He held a private pilot's license and was also a helicopter pilot known for his daring stunts.

He served as chairman of the board and held many board of director positions for several banks. He was also a member of many civic organizations.

The widower of Madeline King, who died November 10, 2000, he is survived by one son and his wife, Kevin M. and Sandra King of Stratham; three grandchildren, Kevin King of Brentwood, Kendra Weller of Dover and Daryl King of Stratham; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and one cousin.

He was predeceased by one son, David J. King, who died in 1971; one grandson, Randy M. King, who died in 1963; and one brother, Joseph King who died in 1999.

There are no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 815 Central Road, Rye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Exeter Healthcare, South Wing Fund, 4 Alumni Drive, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Catherine M. Buell

HAMPTON - Catherine M. Buell, 83, of 66 Moulton Road, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at Seacoast Health Center.

She was born March 1, 1918, in Coolboy, Tinaheley, Ireland, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Lennon) Johnson. She came to the United States in 1945 and had resided in Hampton since 1951. She wintered in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., for 23 years.

Mrs. Buell and her husband owned and operated dairy farms in East Concord and Stratham before opening Buell's Ice Cream and Dairy Bar in North Hampton in 1963, retiring in 1978. She had worked as a nurse in England during World War II.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth Buell of Hampton; one son and his wife, Paul E. and Linda Buell of Lawrence, Mass.; one daughter, Jean C. Gould of Meredith; one granddaughter; one sister, Maureen Dooley of Birmingham, England; and many nieces and nephews in Ireland.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Tom, Mick, Dick and Sean; and one sister, Nan.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will be in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart School, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842 or to Portsmouth Home Health and Hospice, 95 Albany St., Portsmouth, NH 03801.

John Flanagan

EXETER - John "Jack" Flanagan, 64, of Nottingham Drive, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at his home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1936, in Stoneham, Mass., the son of the late Basil and Greta (Cullen) Flanagan.

Mr. Flanagan was a machinist at Western Electric/AT&T retiring in 1990 after 28 years of service. Following his retirement he was a machinist at New Hampshire Machine Products of Exeter.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Bailey) Flanagan; six sons, Thomas, Dennis, Robert and Brian Flanagan, all of Amesbury, Mass., Michael Flanagan of South Hampton and John Flanagan of Kingston; one stepdaughter, Caroline Goldrick of New York City; one stepson, Rene Masse of Raymond; 13 grandchildren; one brother, Robert Flanagan of Alaska; and the mother of his children, Florence Flanagan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday in St. Joseph Church, Amesbury. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements were by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, Amesbury.

Guido P. Germano

HAMPTON - Guido Paul Germano, 77, of Taylor River Estates, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Seacoast Health Center.

He was born in Clinton, Mass, the son of the late Charles and Angeline (Carnitti) Germano. He was raised in Peabody, Mass., and had resided in Ipswich, Mass., before moving to Hampton.

He was educated in Peabody schools and was a graduate of Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, Mass., and the former Salem Commercial School.

Mr. Germano was an auditor accountant for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Peabody and Hampton.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary M. (Fanning) Germano; two sisters, Margaret Sheehan of Danvers and Mary Dion of Beverly, Mass.; two brothers, Frank Germano of Indiana and George Germano of Peabody; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Thursday in St. Ann Church, Peabody. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.

Arrangements were by the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, Danvers.

Stephen R. Green

SANDOWN - Stephen R. Green, 81, of 10 Shady Lane, died February 28, 2001, at the Hannah Dustin House Health Center, Haverhill, Mass.

He was born in Worcester, Mass., and had resided in Saugus, Mass., before moving to Sandown in 1964.

He was educated in Worcester schools and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Green was a master machinist and electrician at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard, Boston, retiring in 1973.

He was a NASCAR race fan and avid golfer and enjoyed building remote control model airplanes.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary E. Tibbetts of Fremont; one son, Philip S. Green of Exeter; one granddaughter; two brothers, Charles Green of Worcester and Paul Green of Oxford, Mass.; two sisters, Martha Doane of Mosheim, Tenn., and Barbara Ranta of Lake Worth, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow.

Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
