Alfred J. Theriault Jr.

EXETER - Alfred J. Theriault Jr., 60, of Deep Meadows, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at his home, after a sudden illness.

He was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Salem, Mass., the son of the late Alfred J. Sr. and Ruth F. (Johnson) Theriault. He had resided in Beverly, Mass., and Seabrook before moving to Exeter 10 years ago.

Mr. Theriault was a mechanic and had worked at Gloucester Used Furniture for many years.

He is survived by three daughters, Michelle Savageau of Beverly, Linda Ryan of Newburyport, Mass., and Carolyn Casey of Norfolk, Va.; two sons, William Theriault and F. Jason Theriault, both of Beverly; three grandchildren; eight brothers, Richard, Charles, Roger, James, William, George, Michael and Ronald Theriault; three sisters, Judith Cocuzza, Diane Beausoliel and Cheryl Fanning; several nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Sheila Theriault of Worcester, Mass.

Spring graveside services will be held in Exeter Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, N.H. Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Corrie Lyn Adrien

KINGSTON - Corrie Lyn Adrien, 28, of Scotland Road, died Friday, March 30, 2001, at her home after a sudden illness.

She was born March 6, 1973, in Salem, Mass., the daughter of Ronald and Nancy (Bianchi) Adrien of Greenville, Maine, and had resided in Kingston since 1977.

She was a 1991 graduate of Sanborn High School and received her associate degree in liberal arts from Northern Essex Community College in February and was attending New Hampshire College majoring in psychology.

She enjoyed swimming and spending time at the family camp on Sebago Lake and at the Leisure Life Resort in Greenville.

She was engaged to Nathaniel Byrne and was planning an April 2002 wedding.

In addition to her parents and fiancé, she is survived by one brother, Kevin E. Adrien of Greenville; her maternal grandmother, Frances (Parent) Bianchi of Salem; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Mary Mother of the Church Newton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem, Mass.

William A. Barlow

HAMPTON - William A. Barlow, 67, of 1 Elaine St., died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born July 15, 1933, in Amesbury, Mass., the son of the late Roy Harold and Kathleen D. "Kay" (Lepps) Barlow and had resided in Hampton for 20 years.

He was a graduate of Amesbury High School and attended the University of New Mexico and the University of Wisconsin.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Barlow worked in property management for the past 15 years, managing the Elaine Garden Apartments in Hampton and property in the Portsmouth area. He had previously owned and operated Applewood Real Estate. and worked for Chase Shawmut Co., Newburyport, Mass., the former USM Corporation, Bailey Division of Seabrook.

He was a former member of the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.

He is survived by one son and his wife, Kevin M. and Lisa Barlow of Hampton; two grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Barlow of Springfield, Vt., and Robert Kimball of Salisbury, Mass.; his stepmother, Helen Barlow of Amesbury, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

James D. Carabelas

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. - James Dion Carabelas, 85, died March 25, 2001, in Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Tarpon Springs.

He was born April 19, 1915, in Newmarket, the son of Dion and Stella (Aloupis) Carabelas. He was raised in Dover and had resided in Waterford, Conn., before moving to Tarpon Springs.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving under Gen. Patton's command in France and Belgium.

Mr. Carabelas operated a marina and an electrical business in Waterford.

He was an active member of Bay View Masonic Lodge No. 120 in Niantic, Conn.; a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral; the AHEPA; Tarpon Masonic Lodge No. 112, F&AM; and the Sgt. John M. Schneider Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, all of Tarpon Springs.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Georgia (Mandesi) Carabelas of Tarpon Springs; one son and his wife, Danny J. and Despina Carabelas; two granddaughters; two brothers, Ted Carabelas of Zepherhills, Fla., and Spero Carabelas of Poquoson, Va.; five sisters, Toni Bennett of Nottingham, Lulu Calivas of Dover, Nikki Vatistas of Madbury, Fula Pouliopoulos of Rye and Priscilla Schanda of Newmarket; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis Carabelas, Peter Carabelas and Charles Carabelas; and one sister, Clara Leoutsacos.

Daniel F. Carlisle Jr.

EXETER - Daniel Folsom Carlisle Jr., 58, of Old Farm Road, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born March 11, 1943, in Exeter, the son of Doris (Wentworth) Carlisle of Exeter and the late Daniel F. Carlisle, and was a lifelong resident of Exeter.

Mr. Carlisle owned and operated Carlisle Stables for more than 20 years and was later a foreman for Perro Structures in Stratham for five years.

He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and was very active in the New England Circuit of the Sulky Horse Racing Division.

He enjoyed gardening and running his vegetable stand.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Lisa Buxton of Newfields; two sons, Daniel F. Carlisle III of Exeter and Randy Carlisle of Epping; two grandchildren; one sister, June Davis of Exeter; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John Denson officiating. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery.

Ruby E. Estey

RAYMOND - Ruby E. Estey, 73, of Gertrude Avenue, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, after a six month illness.

She was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Exeter, the daughter of the late Everett and Evelyn (Brown) Huckins. She was raised in Sandown and had resided in East Kingston before moving to Raymond 17 years ago.

She was a 1945 graduate of Sanborn Seminary, Kingston.

Mrs. Estey had been employed by Exeter Sylvania Corp. for several years.

She was president of the Sandown Historical Society; a member of the East Kingston Wingold Grange; the Stork Club; the Exeter Minstralls, doing many shows in nursing homes; the Chester Corn Crackers Musical Group; and sang for the Townsend Club and the Circle 9 Ranch in Epsom and on the Clyde Joy TV show on Channel 9.

She was an active member of the East Kingston Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and the Women's Guild.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Elliott Estey of Raymond; three sons and their wives, Ronald and Deborah Estey of Middleburg, Fla., Wayne and Peg Estey of Wrightstown, NJ, and Peachy and Elizabeth Estey of Newton; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Olive Berube and Betty Cooper, both of Derry, Charlotte Johnson of Farmington, Judtih Bixby and Sandra Wells, both of Haverhill, Mass., and Dorothy Rowan of East Rochester; two brothers, Ralph Huckins of Sandown and Everett "Billy" Huckins of Union; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Edmund Huckins.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in East Kingston Methodist Church with the Rev. John Barner officiating. A reception will follow in East Kingston Town Hall. Spring burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.

Ethan W. Haller

RYE - Ethan W. Haller, 22, of 31 Birchwood Drive, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, in Raymond.

He was born Oct. 25, 1978, In Wenatchee, Wash., the son of Edwin F. and Paisley (Fonda) Haller of Rye. He had resided in Rye since 1992, coming from Hampton.

He was a senior at the University of New Hampshire and would have graduated in May.

Mr. Haller owned and operated Haller Property Maintenance for the past four years and was recently employed by Harbour Capitol Corporation of Hampton.

He was a member of Bethany Church of Greenland and had participated in several missionary trips to Bolivia and the Ukraine.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Seth A. Haller of Rye; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Douglass C. (Lois) Fonda Jr., of Rye; his paternal grandparents, William and Georgia Haller of Ruch, Ore.; and several aunts, uncles and one cousin.

Services were held Sunday in Bethany Church, Greenland. Private burial will be in Central Cemetery, Rye.

Memorial donations may be made to The Barn, c/o Bethany Church P.O. Box 419, Rye, NH 03870.

John A. Klufts

EXETER - John Alfred Klufts, of Sherwood Forest, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born in North Andover, Mass., the son of Adrian and Leonie (Medauer) Klufts and had resided in Methuen, Mass., for 40 years before moving to Exeter in 1984.

He attended Lawrence and North Andover Schools and was a 1937 graduate of Johnson High School and attended Lowell Technical College.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving 2 1/2 years in the Aleutian Islands of Attu, Adak and Kiska where he distinguished himself as a warrant officer in charge of the 179th Station Hospital. He was discharged with the rank of master sergeant.

Mr. Klufts was a microwave technician at Western Electric in North Andover. He attended the 1964-65 New York World's Fair where a microwave bay station that he worked on was a special display. He had formerly been a BurgerMeister among the greater Lawrence German community by being the master preparer of German meats at Klier's Deli of Lawrence.

He was a past Sachem of the Improved Order of Red Men of Methuen; a drummer with the Methuen American Legion Band; past president of the Gill Avenue Associates; and active in several PTA associations in Methuen.

He was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, and St. Monica's Parish in Methuen. and a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus in Methuen.

He enjoyed painting, crafts, jewelry making, dancing and building a family summer camp at Province Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Helen A. (Slack) Klufts of Exeter; one son, George Slack of Falcon Heights, Minn.; three daughters, Mary Lee Salisbury of Groveland, Mass., Carol E. Klufts of San Leandro, Calif., and Joan T. Goodwin of Londondery; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Exeter, followed by a bereavement reception in the parish hall.

Committal services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell St., Methuen, with the Rev. David Keene of St. Monica's Parish officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Meals On Wheels Program in Exeter.

Estelle Reardon

RYE - Estelle (Rand) Reardon, 79, a resident of the Mark H. Wentworth Home, Portsmouth, died Saturday, March 31, 2001.

She was born April 12, 1921, in Rye, the daughter of the late N. Sherman and Marion (Shaw) Rand, and was a lifelong resident of Rye.

She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School.

Mrs. Reardon and her late husband owned and operated Ocean View House in Rye from 1955 until 1985. She was employed by the Rye Water District for several years and at Rye Elementary School.

She was a member of Bethany Congregational Christian Church.

The widow of Robert J. Reardon, she is survived by one son, Robert R. Reardon of Rye; two daughters, Priscilla A Pickering of Rye and Joanne Kenney of Kennebunkport, Maine, seven grandchildren; one sister, Carol Laverty of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Leanne Reardon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Bethany Church, 500 Breakfast Hill Road, Greenland. Private burial will be in Central Cemetery, Rye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater N.H. Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301-4059.
