Jacqueline P. Weijenhoven

EXETER - Jacqueline P. Weijenhoven, 34, of High Street, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at her home.

She was born Nov. 4, 1966, in Rotterdam, Holland, the daughter of Klaas and Jozina (Van Den Berg) Weijenhoven of Bodegraven, Holland, and had resided in Exeter for two years, coming from Portland, Ore., and Trinidad.

Ms. Weijenhoven was an active member of the Evening with the Arts Committee and served on the Timberlane Daycare Parents Committee.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 10 years, David C. Pompel of Exeter; one son, David Max Pompel of Exeter; one sister, Yvonne Weijenhoven of Leiden, Holland; two brothers, Ruud Weijenhoven of Bodegraven and Jeroen Weijenhoven of Gouda, Holland; and two nieces.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 7, at 2 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 292 State St., Portsmouth. Burial will be in Pacific Grove, Calif.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Robert W. Costello Jr.

HAVERHILL, Mass. - Robert W. Costello Jr., 49, of 214 Lawrence St., died Monday, April 30, 2001, in Hale Hospital.

He was born June 1, 1951, in Haverhill, the son of Joan (Sullivan) Costello of Bradford, Mass., and the late Robert W. Costello Sr.

He was a 1969 graduate of Haverhill High School and a 1973 graduate of St. Anselm College, Manchester, with a bachelor's degree in business. He served as captain of the basketball team at both schools.

Mr. Costello joined his late father and brother William in the family insurance business, Costello Insurance Agency, Inc. of Bradford, where he was serving as treasurer. He was president of Hoyt-Costello Insurance Agency in Exeter and Raymond, which he established in 1983.

He was a certified insurance counselor; a member of the Professional Independent Agents of America; the Greater Haverhill Insurance Agents; the Jackson Club of Haverhill; and a stockholder of Haverhill Investment Team.

He enjoyed handicapping horses.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his companion, Ann Marie Gillis of Haverhill; his children and their mother, Robert W. Costello III of Bradford, Sara L. Costello of Andover, Mass., Erin F. Costello of Bradford, and Rosemary (Flaherty) Costello of Andover; two sisters, Lynn Garner of Haverhill and Maura A. Demers of Andover; two brothers, William Costello and Michael Costello, both of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.

Memorial donations may be made to the Haverhill Boys Club, 55 Emerson St., Haverhill, MA 01830 or to Girls Inc., 7 Williams St., Haverhill, MA 01830.

Carmen DeLucia

SEABROOK - Carmen (Champi-Carpenito) DeLucia, 80, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Mass.

She was born in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.

Mrs. DeLucia was the receptionist/secretary in the office of Dr. Troinello and Dr. Wainwright in Methuen, Mass. She had previously worked for the U.S. Census Bureau and as head cashier at King's Department Store in Methuen.

She was a member of the Seabrook Women's Club; Seabrook Senior Center; Pontiac Club; St. Rita's Sodality; American Association of Retired Persons; and the Seabrook Bowling League.

She was a communicant of Star of the Sea Church, Salisbury, Mass.

The widow of Antonio G. DeLucia, who died in 1999, she is survived by one son, Gene DeLucia of Salisbury; two daughters, Judy DeLucia of Salisbury and Gail DeLucia of Methuen; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.

Eldora L. Morel

EXETER - Graveside services for Eldrora L. (Denoncour) Morel will be held Friday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Route 27, Epping. The Rev. Ronald Corriveau will officiate.

Mrs. Morel, of 277 Water Street, died December 29, 2000.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Eugene J. Ouellet

AMESBURY, Mass. - Eugene J. "Gene" Ouellet, 81, of Stover Court, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at his home after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Amesbury, the son of the late Ovide and Albina (Belanger) Ouellet and was a lifelong resident of Amesbury.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy.

Mr. Ouellet was employed at the former Craig Systems of Amesbury for more than 30 years.

He was a former member of the Amesbury Sportsman's Club.

He enjoyed camping, woodworking, crossword puzzles and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Julia (Raymond) Ouellet; two daughters and their husbands, Carol A. and Kenneth Maynard of Epping and Jean M. and David Cross of Fremont; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lillian Shattler of Amesbury.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish Sacred Heart Church, Amesbury. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Amesbury.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimac St., Lawrence, MA 01843.

Herbert F. Rawson Jr.

STRATHAM - Graveside services for Herbert F. Rawson Jr. will be held Friday, May 11, at 1 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Stratham. The Rev. J. Jermain Bodine of Stratham Community Church will officiate.

Mr. Rawson died January 28, 2001.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Frances C. Rogers

SINGER ISLAND, Fla. - Frances C. Rogers, 72, of Singer Island and North Hampton, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, after a brief illness.

She was born June 30, 1928, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Mabel (Hadley) Castle. She had recently moved from Windham and had previously lived in Methuen, Mass.

Mrs. Rogers owned and operated You're Invited Gift Shop in Hampton Falls and had been involved in various retail endeavors over the years.

She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church, Rye Beach.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth L. Rogers; two daughters and their husbands, Gail and Scott Sudduth of Newfields and Martha Jo and Douglas Hewitt of North Hampton and Fort Polk, La.; and four grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one son, Thomas J. Rogers.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 11, at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Rye Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Jay A. Forst

EXETER - Jay A. Forst, 65, of Woodlawn Circle, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Kingston, N.Y., the son of the late Bernard and Gabrielle (Grober) Forst and had resided in Exeter since 1985. He had previously lived in Europe, mostly in Paris, France.

He was a graduate of Georgetown University.

He is survived by one sister, JaneAnn Gavaghan of Chevy Chase, Md.; and four nieces.

There are no calling hours or services.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Bldg., 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110.

Elizabeth H. Jewell

NORTH HAMPTON - Elizabeth H. "Betty" Jewell, 101, of 18 Fern Road, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.

She was born April 4, 1900, in Deep Brook, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late George E. and Edith (Snell) Pinkney and had resided in Exeter from 1922 until 1970 when she moved to North Hampton.

Mrs. Jewell was a homemaker.

She was a member of Christ Church Episcopal of Exeter and a member of Orient Chapter No. 22, Order of Eastern Star, Exeter.

The widow of F. Wilbur Jewell, who died in 1975, she is survived by one son, Edward L. Jewell of North Hampton; one daughter, Carolyn Hine of Marlow; two grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, May 12, at 11 a.m. in Christ Church Episcopal, 43 Pine St., Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rockingham County Nursing Home Residents Fund, 117 North Road, Brentwood, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Janice M. Lortie

RAYMOND - Janice M. (Vigeant) Lortie, 58, of 9 Power St., died Friday, May 4, 2001, at her home after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 8, 1942, in Roxbury, Mass., the daughter of Edward and Stella (Bradley) Vigeant and had resided in Raymond since 1979.

Mrs. Lortie was employed with Easter Seals in the vocational services area.

She enjoyed working on her computer and her family.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Denis R. Lortie Sr.; one son, Denis R. Lortie Jr. of Ft. Knox, Ken.; one daughter Danielle J. Stevens of Raymond; two grandchildren; two sisters, Jacqueline Hall of Rockland, Mass., and Judy McCollum of Burnsville, M.N.; and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, Route 27, Epping. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond.

Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals Society of N.H., 555 Auburn St., Manchester, NH 03103.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.

Thomas J. Manning Jr.

HAMPTON BEACH - Thomas J. Manning Jr., 78, of 15 Dumas Ave., died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at the Sunbridge Care Center-Glenwood in Lowell, Mass.

He was born Sept. 12, 1922, in Manchester, the son of the late Thomas J. and Alice T. (Dolan) Manning. He resided in Stoneham, Mass., for many years and had summered at Hampton Beach since childhood moving here year round after retiring in 1985.

He was a graduate of Manchester High School and the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Manning was a chemist for the Cabot Company of Chelsea, Mass., for many years.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton, and served as an usher at St. Patrick's Church, Hampton Beach, during the summer months.

He was a member of the Republican Club of Stoneham and Abenaqui Country Club, Rye, where he achieved a hole in one.

He enjoyed the beach and golfing.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Virginia M. (Mellen) Manning of Hampton Beach; one son, Thomas J. Manning III of Stoneham; one daughter, Christine M. Manning of Hampton; several nieces and one nephew.

He was predeceased by one sister, Mary M. Smith.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Burial will follow in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
