Florence Morris

EXETER - Florence (Coe) Morris, 87, of 11 Stevens Court, died Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at Seacoast Nursing Home, Hampton, after an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 9, 1913, in Medford, Mass., the daughter of Harry and Florence A. (Paul) Coe. She resided in Kensington for 10 years before moving to San Antonio, Texas, returning to Exeter seven years ago.

She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Morris of Temple, Maine, and Frederick A. Morris of Comfort, Tex.; one daughter, Ann Elizabeth Daniels of San Antonio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Douglas of Exeter, with whom she made her home; one brother, Harry A. Coe of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

At Mrs. Morris' request there will be no services.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Francis E. O'Rorke Jr.

SEABROOK - Francis E. "Frank" O'Rorke Jr., 59, of 395 Plymouth St., died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at his home.

He was born July 1, 1941, in Belmont, Mass., the son of the late Francis E. and Helen (Brown) O'Rorke and was raised in Haverhill, Mass.

He attended St. James Grammar School and Central Catholic High School. He entered the Order of Marist Brothers at the age of 15 and served as a missionary in the Philippines. He also taught at St. Michael's Academy in New York.

After leaving the order, Mr. O'Rorke owned and operated Distribution Group Inc.

He was a member of Sacred Hearts Church where he taught CCD and served as a Eucharistic Minister at Lawrence General Hospital.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Haverhill Country Club; the Ancient Order of Hibernians; and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Judith James of Seabrook; one son, Shaun P. O'Rorke of Winthrop, Mass.; two stepdaughters, Patricia R. Har of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Elizabeth A. Har of Seabrook; one brother, Vincent P. O'Rorke of Bradford, Mass.; three sisters, Mary Ellen Rush of Cincinnati, Ohio, Paula Janes of Haverhill and Patricia Cargiulo of Chappaqua, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rockingham County Visiting Nurses Association, 11 Wall St., Derry, NH 03038.

Alice Bonenfant

EPPING - Alice (Keahola) Bonenfant, 71, of 290 Calef Highway, died Thursday, May 10, 2001, at her home.

She was born Sept. 2, 1929, in Waikiki, Hawaii.

Mrs. Bonenfant worked for Kingston-Warren Co. and the Rockingham County Nursing Home. She had previously been a professional hula dancer for Honolulu Airport and Cruise Line and danced for celebrities such as John Wayne, Don Ho and Jimmy Stewart.

She enjoyed gardening, crafts and crocheting.

The widow of Norman E. Bonenfant, who died in 1985, she is survived by seven children, Norman Bonenfant and Debbie Schad of Manitwoc, W.I., Terri and Walter Bickford of Seabrook, Debbie and Jerry Day of Plainfield, Conn., Wayne and Diane Bonenfant of Epping, Michelle and Gary Geoffrion of Center Strafford, Danny and Carol Bonenfant of Epping, and Janice Bonenfant and Charles Mooney of Cornish; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in St. Joseph Church, Epping, with the Rev. Ronald Corriveau as the celebrant. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping.

Memorial donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice. 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping.

Joseph C. Burley

NORTH EPPING - Joseph Cilley Burley, 95, of North Epping and Delray Beach, Fla., died Saturday, May 12, 2001, in Boynton, Fla.

He was born May 16, 1905, in Brookline, Mass., the son of the late Harry B. and Adelaide (Wells) Burley. He was a descendant of General Joseph Cilley. He resided in Milton, Mass., for 54 years.

He attended the Runkle School in Brookline. He was a 1923 graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, where he was the Radio Club operator for three years, and has been president of the class since 1973 and secretary since 1994. He was a 1927 graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in business administration/electrical and mechanical engineering. He has been class vice president since 1977, class secretary since 1980 and a member of the Alumni Council for 25 years. He was a member of ATO.

Mr. Burley designed elevator cable for the world's tallest buildings and during a 56 year tenure at Boston Insulated Wire & Cable Co., he held positions as chief engineer, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors. He developed television cables used by RCA at the World's Fair in 1939. His cables were utilized by Otis Elevators in the Empire State Building, the Sears Tower in Chicago and many others. His connecting wires were used in Cadillacs, Oldsmobiles, Buicks and Pontiacs. He designed minuscule wires used in brain surgery. He designed the electrical and elevator cables used in the Seattle Space Needle, which opened in 1962.

He was one of the founders and served on the board of directors and the comptroller for Milton Residences for the Elderly; was chairman of the building grounds committee for the First Parish Church in Milton for many years.

His family was among the early settlers of Ipswich and Newburyport, Mass., in the 1640s and later moved to Epping. The family farm and homestead, built in 1752, is designated an American Bicentennial Farm. He received the John Hoard award from the Rockingham Woodland Owners Association for his stewardship of the family tree farm.

He was a member and secretary of the Epping Budget Committee.

He was an avid sailor and was a member of the Boston Yacht Club since 1943 and is the member with the second longest number of years of membership. He was still sailing at the age of 95.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Norton) Burley; three daughters, Sally B. Beck of Redlands, Calif.; Nancy B. Chase and Jane W. Burley, both of Epping; three stepchildren; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Burley; and two brothers, Robert Burley and Harry B. Burley Jr.

Memorial services and burial will be held in the Burley Family Cemetery, North Epping.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Phillips Exeter Academy, 20 Main St., Exeter NH 03833 or to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139.

Earline V. Chamberlain

KENSINGTON - Earline V. (Morrisette) Chamberlain, 76, of South Road, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, in Dover.

She was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Exeter, the daughter of Adelard and Mary Morrisette and had been a longtime resident Kensington.

The widow of Earl D. Chamberlain, she is survived by one sister, Rita Dean of Kennebunk, Maine; one brother, Milton Morrisette of Ashland, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Kingston.

E. Evelyn Comeau

PLAISTOW - E. Evelyn (Toshach) Comeau, 95, of Pine Park, Walton Road, died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.

She was born in Haverhill, Mass., was raised in Atkinson and had resided in Salem before moving to Plaistow 18 years ago.

She was a graduate of Atkinson Academy and MacIntosh Business School. She attended Consentino School of Music and was certified to teach all stringed instruments.

Mrs. Comeau was an accomplished musician and played the electric Hawaiian guitar and the banjo as the member of a former orchestra in California. She worked for several years in the crystal room at the former Western Electric Co. in North Andover, Mass.

She attended the First Baptist Church of Plaistow.

She is survived by one daughter, Doris E. Copp of Plaistow; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Grace Buzzell of Hawthorne, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Milton Pressey, who died in 1953, and her second husband, Joseph Comeau, who died in 1983.

Funeral services were held Thursday in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Haverhill.

Lawrence R. Crampsey

HUDSON, Mass. - Lawrence R. Crampsey, 54, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in UMass Memorial Marlborough Hospital, Marlborough, Mass., after a sudden illness.

He was born in Beverly, Mass., the son of the late Lawrence E. and Doris M. (Robinson) Crampsey.

He was a graduate of the Claude H. Patton Vocational High School, Beverly, and the Reynolds Institute. He served with the Army Reserves from 1966 until 1973.

Mr. Crampsey was the senior pastor of the New Life Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Marlborough and owned and operated The Yankee Printer in Hampton Falls for 21 years.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Lee (Blanchard) Crampsey; one son and his wife, Lawrence R. "Lonnie" Jr. and Kimberley Crampsey of Newfields; one daughter and her husband, Laureen M. and Matthew Greathouse of Old Hickory, Tenn.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Peabody of Beverly and Kim Richards of Newton; and one niece and nephew.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lee, Moody and Russell Funeral Home, 9 Dane St., Beverly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, 556 Cabot St., Beverly.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Marlborough Food Pantry, c/o New Life Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, 420 Maple St., Marlborough, MA 01752.

Helen A. Houghton

STRATHAM - Helen Ashton Houghton, 77, of Portsmouth Avenue, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, in Exeter Hospital after a period of failing health.

She was born May 12, 1924, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Scott) Ashton. She was raised in Kensington and resided in Stratham for 50 years.

She was a graduate of Robinson Female Seminary, Exeter, and from a nursing school in Boston.

She was a registered nurse at Exeter Hospital for 32 years.

The widow of Milton Houghton, who died in 1975, she is survived by one son, Ronald Houghton of North Hampton; two daughters, Sharon Houghton Pelley of Kensington and Sandra Duffy of Epping; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son-in-law, Scott Pelley, who died December 22, 2000.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Stratham Community Church with the Rev. J. Jermain Bodine officiating. Burial will be in Maple Lane Cemetery, Stratham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal St., Manchester, NH 03101.

Mark P. Richards

HAMPTON - Mark P. Richards, 44, of 28 Dunvegan Woods, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Exeter Hospital.

He was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Haverhill, Mass., the son of Catherine M. (McKenna) Richards of Exeter and the late Norman Richards. He resided in the Seacoast region for several years moving to Hampton six years ago, coming from North Hampton.

He was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School, Plaistow, and from Plymouth State College with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Mr. Richards owned and operated the Richards Company, an accounting firm in Hampton, for 20 years.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing, traveling and the culinary arts.

He was a member of Wentworth By The Sea Country Club, Rye, for six years.

In addition to his mother, his is survived by his companion, Jeannemarie Mancuso of Hampton; three brothers, John Richards of Exeter, Bryan Richards of Hampton Falls, and James Richards of Kingston; and one niece, four nephews and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1 p.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Private burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Plaistow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01710-4688, to Lane Memorial Library, Academy Ave., Hampton, NH 03842 or to the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, 112 Main St., Hopkinton, MA 01748.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Richard W. Tatarinowicz

HAMPTON FALLS - Richard W. Tatarinowicz, 50, of 102 Exeter Road, died Monday, May 14, 2001, in Boston Medical Center, Boston.

He was born Dec. 30, 1950, in Chelsea, Mass., the son of Thomas Tatarinowicz (Master Sgt. USMC Ret.) of New Bern, N.C. and Gloria (Culhane) Merola of Nottingham. He was raised in Arlington and Cambridge, Mass., and had resided in Hampton Falls for several years coming from Kingston.

He attended Salem High School and the University of Kentucky.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a sergeant from 1968 until 1974.

Mr. Tatarinowicz worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Haverhill, Mass., for nearly 20 years.

He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 103 of Kingston and served as an assistant scout master for Troop No. 377 of Hampton Falls.

He enjoyed boating and sports cars.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carol A. (Cabana) Tatarinowicz of Hampton Falls; one son, Eric T. Tatarinowicz of Hampton Falls; his stepmother, Sallie Tatarinowicz of New Bern, N.C.; his stepfather, Robert Merola of Nottingham; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hampton Falls.

Arrangements are by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home, Hampton.
