Kenneth L. Reynolds

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Kenneth L. Reynolds, formerly of Kingston, died July 16, 2002, in Greenport, L.I., N.Y.

He was born March 16, 1917, in Danville, the son of the late Adelbert W. and Marcie (Ladd) Reynolds.

He was a graduate of Haverhill (Mass.)High School.

Mr. Reynolds worked at the Boston Naval Shipyard during World War II and later at Western Electric.

With his late wife, he founded Reynolds Boat Co. in Haverhill, Mass. After a fire destroyed the business they built Reynolds Trailer Sales in Plaistow and sold the business when they retired. He then opened Ken's House of RVs in Kingston.

He enjoyed golfing, tending his garden, playing cards, reading and arguing politics. He was an avid fan of polka music and dancing.

The widower of Theresa (Villetta) Reynolds, he is survived by one daughter, Sandra L. Walsh of Pueblo, Colo.; one son, Barry Reynolds of Kingston; one stepson, Donald Reynolds of New Boston; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Casey of Haverhill; one brother, Cecil Reynolds of Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; and his friend and companion, Jill Radford.

He was predeceased by one son, Norman Reynolds.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Kingston.

Assistance with the arrangements was by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.

John C. Taylor

EXETER - John C. Taylor, 90, of Sherwood Forest, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born July 12, 1912, in Exeter, the son of Frank W. and Elizabeth (Chesley) Taylor. He had resided in Wellesley, Mass., for 30 years returning to Exeter in the 1970s.

He was a graduate of Exeter High school was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.

Mr. Taylor served with the Wellesley Fire Department for many years.

He was a 50 year member of Star in the East Lodge F&AM of Exeter.

The widower of Dora G. (Wallace) Taylor, who died in 1987, he is survived by one sister, Margaret T. Crafts of Weymouth, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in Exeter Cemetery with Chaplain Charles H. MacDougall of Star in the East Lodge officiating.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Edwin H. Arnold

EPPING - Edwin H. Arnold, 84, of 290 Calef Highway, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at his home.

He was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Winthrop, Mass., the son of the late John and Hilda (Howarth) Arnold and had resided in Epping for 17 years.

Mr. Arnold was a machinist for Delta Airlines for 28 years.

He was a charter member of the Delta Retirees Yellowbird Chapter and a member and past president of the Pine & Pond Residents Association.

He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled model airplanes.

The widow of Ruth (Knox) Arnold, who died in 1991, he is survived by three daughters, Patricia Sawtelle of King, N.C., Linda Jones of Tilton and Jan McCorison of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one sister, Eleanor Thomas.

Memorial services were held Thursday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping, with the Rev. Michael Chouinard officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Merrimack St., Suite 1, Manchester, NH 03101-2244 or to the charity of one's choice.

Marion R. Bean

EXETER - Marion R. Bean, 58, of Exeter Farms Road, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Exeter Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born Dec. 8, 1943, in Boston, the daughter of the late Martin and Dorothy (Pimental) Reis. She was raised in Rockland, Mass., and had resided in Exeter since 1999.

Mrs. Bean enjoyed arts and crafts and was a member of the art therapy group at Exeter Hospital. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stephen C. Bean of Exeter; two daughters and their husbands, Christina M. and George L. Hurst of Gilford and Colette E. Bean and Joseph M. Berwanger of Hampton; three grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Reis of Plymouth, Mass., and Joseph Reis and Richard Reis, both of Rockland; three sisters, Dorothy Reis of East Falmouth, Mass., Kathleen Laramee of Plymouth and Sharon Adams of Abbington, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front and Lincoln Street, Exeter. Burial will follow in Exeter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.

Cecelia M. Bryant

KINGSTON - Cecelia M. (Christmas) Bryant, 72, died Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.

She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Digby, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late Alfred Balla and Emmagean Christmas. She had resided in Haverhill, Mass., before moving to Kingston in 1984.

She was a graduate of Digby High School.

Mrs. Bryant was the advertising manager for News America Marketing Co. of South Easton, Mass. She had previously been a supervisor in the electronics assembly division of Raytheon Co. in Andover and Bedford, Mass., for 26 years.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Exeter.

She is survived by her husband, Jerrold C. Bryant of Kingston; one daughter, Carolyn M. Christmas of Takoma, Wash.; two sons, Cecil M. Christmas of Dorchester, Mass., and Carmen L. Christmas of Boston; two granddaughters; four brothers, Russell Christmas of Portsmouth, Herman Christmas of Onset, Mass., Marcel Balla of Portugal and Melvin Balla of California; one sister, Ruby Brown of Sagamore, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Dianne Bastien of Kingston; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth F. Cookson of Bradford, Mass., who died in 1972.

Funeral services were held Thursday in the C. Frank Linnehan & Son Funeral Home, Haverhill. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.

Ruth Caverhill

AIKEN, S.C. - Ruth Caverhill, 76, died April 10, 2002, in Aiken.

She was born in Exeter the daughter of the late Basil and Elvira (Benfield) Collishaw and had resided in Dover and Aiken.

She was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and was a member of the UNH Marine Docents.

She is survived by one son, Robert Caverhill of Atlanta, GA.; one granddaughter; and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, at 11:30 a.m. in Exeter Cemetery with the Rev. Kaye Bowles of Exeter Congregational Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the N.H. SPCA, P.O. Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885-0196.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Herman A. Clock Jr.

RAYMOND - Herman A. Clock Jr., 83, of Main Street, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at the N.H. Veterans Home, Tilton.

He was born May 14, 1919, in Exeter the son of the late Herman A. Sr. and Bessie (Dearborn) Clock and was a lifelong resident of Raymond.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Clock was a line supervisor for Public Service Co. of N.H. for 44 years.

He served on the Raymond Volunteer Fire Department and was the Raymond water commissioner.

He is survived by three sons, Kerry Clock and David Clock, both of Canterbury and Kent Clock of Raymond; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion Varney of Newmarket; one brother, Hovey Clock of Hampton; his former wife, Edith Clock of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, On the Common, Raymond.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the Rev. Wayne VanGundy officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the N.H. Veterans Home, P.O. Box 229, Tilton NH 03276 or to the Alzheimer's Association, N.H. Chapter, 10 Ferry St., Suite 419, Concord, NH 03301.

Rose A. Fuller

NORTH HAMPTON - Rose A. Fuller, 91, of North Road, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at her home after a period of failing health.

She was born April 28, 1911, in Exeter, the daughter of the late Willis and Lizzie (Broulet) Audette and had resided in Seabrook for more than 40 years before moving to North Hampton 12 years ago.

Mrs. Fuller was a member of Oceanside Grange No. 260; Tide Mill Chapter No. 67, Order of Eastern Star; and the Winnacummet Lodge of Rebekahs No. 26, all of Hampton.

The widow of Phillip F. Fuller, who died in 1983, she is survived by four sons, Albert Walton of Sarasota, Fla., Franklin V. Fuller of Hampton Falls, Henry B. Fuller of North Hampton and Dale E. Fuller of Hudson; one daughter, Holly A. Welsh of Barrington; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook.

Memorial donations may be made to the Seaside Elderly Day Out Center, 441R Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842.

Hester T. Dietel

EXETER - Hester T. Dietel, 72, of 17 Hampton Road, died Sunday, July 21, 2002, at her home.

She was born Jan. 4, 1930, in New York City, the daughter of the late Dobald H. and Elizabeth (Reed) Tyler. She was a longtime resident of Norwich, Vt., had resided in Eugene, Ore., from 1978 until 1982, moving to Exeter in 2000.

She was a 1952 graduate of Cedar Crest College, Allenstown, Pa.

Mrs. Dietel had worked for Life magazine in New York City, and had worked at Dartmouth College in Hanover.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, collecting antiques, traveling and had many hobbies.

The widow of John F. Dietel, M.D., who died in 1964, she is survived by one daughter, Molly D. Wynne of North Hampton; one son, David H. Dietel of Grand Junction, Colo.; three grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Jupp of Salisbury, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11:30 a.m. in Norwich Congregational Church, Norwich, Vt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hester T. Dietel Fund for Cancer Research, Hitchcock Foundation, 1 Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756.

Assistance with the arrangements was by the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.

Celine B. Lavoie

EXETER - Celine B. Lavoie, 59, of Park Street, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born June 11, 1943, in Amesbury, Mass., the daughter of Margaret (Haines) Bellavance of Amesbury, and the late Lorenzo Bellavance. She had resided in Exeter since 1962.

Mrs. Lavoie was employed by the Exeter School District food service department for 18 years.

She was a communicant of St. Michael Church, Exeter, for 37 years and loved spending time with her family, antiquing and camping.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 40 years, Philip A. Lavoie of Exeter; three daughters, Mary Eckhardt of Sutton, Vt., and Catherine Peterson and Denise Lavoie, both of Exeter; two sons, Mike Lavoie and Mark Lavoie, both of Dover; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Bellavance of Amesbury.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Michael Church, Front and Lincoln streets, Exeter. Burial will be in Exeter Cemetery.
