Helen M. Molin

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - Helen M. (Smith) Molin, 82, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in Beth Israel Hospital, Boston.

She was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Thomaston, Conn., the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Woods) Smith and had resided in Waterbury and Cheshire, Conn., Deerfield, Ill., Boxford, Mass., and in Newburyport for 24 years.

She attended school in Waterbury, Conn.

Mrs. Molin was a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Danvers and Newburyport for many years.

She was an avid reader, a crossword puzzle wizard and a skilled seamstress.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward G. Molin, former Newburyport mayor; two daughters, Jennifer Molin of Freedom and Newburyport and Janice Colby and her husband Alexander of Ipswich, Mass.; one son and his wife, Douglas and Susan Molin of Hampton Falls; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Delaney of Waterbury, Conn.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one grandchild, Aaron Mierzykowski, who died April 9.

Funeral services were held Saturday in the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Funeral Home, Newburyport. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 31 Green St., Newburyport, MA 01950 or to the Friends of the Newburyport Library, 94 State St., Newburyport, MA 01950.

Edgar A. Roberts

KENSINGTON - Edgar A. Roberts, 74, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Exeter Healthcare after a lengthy illness.

He was born Feb. 26, 1928, in Plaistow, the son of the late Benjamin A. and Mary (Brewer) Roberts. He had resided in Amesbury, Mass., before moving to Kensington 46 years ago.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Mr. Roberts was employed by Nichol's Poultry Farm, Kingston, from 1947 until 1958 and was a custodian at Phillips Exeter Academy for 10 years.

He was a member of Warren Masonic Lodge, Amesbury.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lois (Shaw) Roberts of Exeter; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at 2 p.m. in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.

Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Home, Exeter.

Linda L. Soucie

EXETER - Linda L. Soucie, 62, of 35 Hilton Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at her home.

She was born July 19, 1940, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Allie E. (Nelson) Berryman. She had resided in Newburyport, Mass., for several years before moving to Exeter.

Mrs. Soucie was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an avid card player and enjoyed yard sales.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Lawrence L. Soucie of Exeter; six sons, Scott Soucie, John Soucie, Mike Soucie, David Soucie, Wayne Soucie and Christopher Soucie, all of Exeter; five grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Berryman of Worcester; one sister, Patricia Owen of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday in the Stockbridge Funeral Home, Exeter.

Memorial donations may be made to the Rockingham VNA/Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Robert L. Staniels

MANCHESTER - Robert L. Staniels, 67, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in Elliot Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born May 22, 1935, in Cranston, R.I., the son of Elizabeth (Mitchell) Staniels of Manchester, and the late Henry Staniels.

He was educated in the Manchester school system, was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School and a U.S. Army veteran.

Mr. Staniels was the director of administrative services for New Hampshire Catholic Charities until his retirement four years ago.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford; a member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post 2; and enjoyed spending time with his family and golfing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann (Regan) Staniels of Manchester; one daughter, Linda M. Staniels of Stratham; two sons, Brian R. Staniels and Kevin L. Staniels, both of Manchester; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Staniels of Hampton.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McHugh Funeral Home, 483 Beech St., corner of Hanover Street, Manchester.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to N.H. Catholic Charities, P.O. Box 686, Manchester, NH 03105 or to the American Red Cross, Manchester Chapter, 1800 Elm St., Manchester, NH 03104.

Ida Brusso

RAYMOND - Ida "Nana" Brusso, 82, died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002, in Exeter Hospital.

She was born June 21, 1920, in Fremont, the daughter of the late Ralph and Cora (Trickey) Rogers and was a lifelong resident of Raymond.

Mrs. Brusso enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid reader and card player.

The widow of Charles Brusso, who died in 1989, she is survived by three daughters, Yvonne Griffin of Portsmouth, Becky Harney and her husband Peter, and Heidi Brusso, all of Raymond; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Triff and Priscilla Brusso of North Smithfield, R.I., Timothy and Cheryl Brusso of Raymond and Bradley Brusso of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rowena LeClair of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one daughter, Deborah Brusso; one grandson, Max; one sister, Alice Waldron; and one brother, Clarence Rogers.

There are no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the Rev. Mike Chouinard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ida Brusso Memorial Fund, c/o Dudley-Tucker Library, P.O. Box 909, Raymond, NH 03077.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.

Charles J. Burditt

SEABROOK - Charles J. Burditt, 82, of 30 New Zealand Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass.

He was born June 20, 1920, in Beverly, Mass., the son of the late William D. and Frances (Longdon) Burditt.

He was a graduate of Hampton Academy and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with Company C of the 120th Infantry Regiment of the 30th Infantry Division participating in the campaigns of Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe.

Mr. Burditt was self-employed in the construction field and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Burditt's Bargain Center in Hampton Falls.

He was a member of Trinity United Church, Seabrook; the Hampton's American Legion Post 35; and the Seacoast Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8942 of Rye.

He is survived by one son and his wife, David and Ivy Burditt of Hampton Falls; three daughters, Audrey Brindle of Seabrook, Ruth Ann Burditt of Eliot, Maine, and Frances Burditt of Fort Myers, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his longtime friend, Maureen Donohue of Merrimac, Mass.; two sisters, Thelma Walton of Hampton Falls and Effie Eaton of Seabrook; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by one son, Charles J. Burditt Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Seabrook.

Gail J. DeLuca

HAMPTON - Gail J. (Andrews) DeLuca, 51, of 13 Raymond Lane, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1951, in Springfield, Mass., the daughter of Robert W. Andrews and the late Viola (Nicolosi) Andrews, and had resided in Pennsylvania and Delaware before moving to Hampton in 1994.

Mrs. DeLuca was a 1969 graduate of Cathedral High School, Springfield, and received her associate's degree from Springfield Technical Community College.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Frank DeLuca; one son, Jason DeLuca of Aliston, Mass.; two daughters, Tiffany DeLuca and Kelsey-Morgan DeLuca, both of Hampton; her father and his wife, Robert and Dorothy Andrews of San Clemente, Calif.; one brother, Robert Andrews Jr. of Mount Laurel, N.J.; two sisters, Beverly Andrews and Kimberly Anthony, both of Hampton; her mother-in-law, Antonia DeLuca of Springfield; and a sister-in-law, Lucia DeLuca of Springfield.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday in Holy Name Church, Springfield. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery, Springfield.

Memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund Tribute Program, One Harvard St., Brookline, MA 02146.

Arrangements were by the Tazzini Funeral Home, Springfield.

David C. Dube

SEABROOK - David C. Dube, 55, of Centennial Street, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Amesbury, Mass., the son of the late Zephrin and Helen (Mispilken) Dube, and had resided in Seabrook for 25 years.

He was a 1964 graduate of Amesbury High School.

Mr. Dube was a machinist at Bartley Machine in Amesbury for many years.

He was an active softball coach in Seabrook.

He is survived by one son, Joseph Dube; three daughters, Michelle Dube, Lisa Dube and Crystal Dow; three grandchildren; and one brother, James Dube of Arizona.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Helen D. Ryan

KINGSTON - Helen D. Ryan, 89, formerly of Kingston Pines, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood.

She was born April 2, 1913, in Milford, the daughter of the late John and Ali Harris. She had resided in Gloucester, Mass., before moving to Kingston in 1974.

Mrs. Ryan enjoyed spending time with her family, was an avid bingo player and enjoyed walking four to five miles a day until the age of 86.

The widow of Paul D. Ryan, who died in 1986, she is survived by one son and his wife, Robert and Pat Ryan of Gloucester; one daughter and her husband, Paula and Richard Nichols of Hampton; four granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.

She was predeceased by one grandson, Paul R. Nichols, who died in 1996.

Private services were held Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made to Rockingham VNA & Hospice, 137 Epping Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Edward B. Smith

EXETER - Edward B. Smith of Exeter died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002.

Arrangements were incomplete at press time and will be announced by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Richard E. Winslow Jr.

RYE - Richard E. Winslow Jr., died Sunday Aug. 4, 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia E. (Powell) Winslow; one son, Dr. Richard E. Winslow III of Rye; one daughter and her husband, Ellen and Dr. Donald L. Ruhl of Haverhill, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements were by the May-Folsom Funeral Service, Inc., Dedham, Mass.
