John H. Parshley

KINGSTON - John H. Parshley, 63, of Great Pond Road, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, West Roxbury, Mass., after a lengthy illness.

He was born July 16, 1939, in Exeter, the son of the late Elmer and Vivian (Shaw) Parshley and was a lifelong resident of Kingston.

He was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School and was a U.S. Army veteran stationed at the Berlin Wall.

Mr. Parshley was a truck driver for LaPerle Construction, Exeter, for 12 years and for the Kingston Highway Department for 1½ years.

He enjoyed working outdoors chopping wood and making model trucks.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara (Mohan) Parshley of Kingston; one son, Jeremiah Parshley of Olanta, S.C.; two daughters, Tammy Shaw of Gloversville, N.Y., and Tracey Parshley of Epping; five grandchildren; one brother, Robert Parshley of Anderson, Ind.; one sister, Martha McGhee of Junction City, Ore.; one aunt, Florence Friend of Kingston; two uncles, Raymond Townsend of Florida and Ernest Bernier of Exeter, and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter. Military burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home, 718 Smythe Road, Manchester, NH 03104.

Emmons E. Pevear

HAMPTON FALLS - Emmons E. Pevear, 92, of 6 Pevear Lane, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at Langdon Place of Exeter.

He was born Feb. 18, 1910, in Hampton Falls, the son of the late Daniel E. and Florence (Hickford) Pevear and was a lifelong resident of Hampton Falls.

Mr. Pevear was a self-employed poultry farmer and for several years worked as a boat builder for Mason Boats in Salisbury, Mass.

He was an active member of the Hampton Falls Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

The widower of Helen D. (Weare) Pevear, who died in 1999, he is survived by one brother, Edward Pevear of Exeter and Rumney, Maine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Harold, Eben, Albert, William, Ira and Charles Pevear; and one sister, Florence Briggs.

Graveside services were held Sunday in West View Cemetery, Hampton Falls.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Henry K. Raybold

EXETER - Henry K. Raybold, 83, of Court Street, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at Exeter Healthcare.

He was born March 5, 1919, in Exeter the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Knight) Raybold and was a lifelong resident of Exeter

Mr. Raybold was employed by B & M Railroad for more than 20 years and worked for the Exeter Water and Sewer Department for many years.

He had a deep appreciation of jazz music and played saxophone in a small orchestra in his younger years.

The widow of Elizabeth (Hallisey) Raybold, who died in 1999, he is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Cinq-Mars of Solon, Ohio, and Sandra Collins of Portland, Maine; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Private burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Hampton Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110-5032.

Owen H. Curtis

EXETER - Owen H. Curtis, 86, of Crestview Drive, died November 28, 2002, at his home.

He was born March 19, 1916, in North Attleboro, Mass., the son of the late Owen F. and Minnie A. (Semple) Curtis. He had resided in Exeter for many years coming from Danvers, Mass.

He was a graduate of Bentley College and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star.

Mr. Curtis was an accountant for United Technologies in Newmarket for many years.

He was a member of Exeter Congregational Church; Synergy Health Club, Exeter; the Exeter Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation Group; past president of the Liberty Masonic Lodge of Berverly, Mass.; and a former member of the Dane Street Congregational Church, Beverly.

The widower of Evelyn (Kampersal) Curtis, who died in 1999, he is survived by several nieces and nephews including Janet and Philip Kendrick of Exeter.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. in Exeter Congregational Church. Spring burial will be in the North Beverly Cemetery, Beverly.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Exeter Congregational Church, 21 Front St., Exeter, NH 03833.

Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter.

Richard F. Demaine

DANVILLE - Richard F. Demaine, 82, of 46 Pine St., died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Danville, the son of Merritt F. and Ethel L. (Rumery) Demaine and lived on Pine Street his whole life.

He was a 1938 graduate of Sanborn Seminary, Kingston.

Mr. Demaine was a poultry farmer for more than 20 years. He delivered oil for Duston's Oil Co. of Plaistow and worked at Bailey Corporation in Seabrook for 17 years, retiring in 1983. Following his retirement he worked part time at Cheney's Lumber Mill in Kingston and volunteered at Exeter Healthcare.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. He enjoyed fishing and his camp on Ossipee Lake.

Mr. Demaine was an active member of Danville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, financial secretary and taught Sunday school.

The widower of Natalie E. (Newcomb) Demaine, who died in 1988, he is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard D. and Nancy Demaine of Windham, Douglas J. and Debra Demaine of Tamworth, Philip D. and Elizabeth Demaine of Epping and David K. Demaine of Chocorua; one daughter, Janet L. Demaine and her dear friend Sharon L. Griffin of Newmarket; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Barbara Kelley of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Gertrude Herrick and Marion Sanborn, and one brother, Harland Demaine.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Danville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Danville.

William E. Hamilton Jr.

NEW LONDON - William E. Hamilton Jr., 46, of Little Sunapee Road, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born June 19, 1956, in Boston, the son of William E. and Anna (Meade) Hamilton. He had resided in Raymond and in Stoneham, Mass., before moving to New London two years ago.

He was a 1974 graduate of Northeast Voc-Tech High School with a degree in culinary arts.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a cook from 1974 to 1976.

Mr. Hamilton was a chef with Fitz & Voight Food Service Co. for many years.

He is survived by two daughters, Shawna Dembro of Epping and Katy Hamilton of Auburn; and one sister, Henrietta or Oregon.

Memorial services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Chadwick Funeral Home, 174 Main St., New London, with the Rev. Renee Kaufman officiating.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688 or to the charity of one's choice.

Marilyn L. Hill

SEABROOK - Marilyn L. Hill, 44, of 281 South Main St., died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, in Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport, Mass., after a sudden illness.

She was born Oct. 27, 1958, in Exeter, the daughter of Yvonne (Perkins) Nedeau Randall of Seabrook and the late Harold "Hardy" Nedeau, and was a lifelong resident of Seabrook.

She was a 1976 graduate of Winnacunnet High School.

Mrs.. Hill was the office manager at MacKenzie Heating & Cooling of Seabrook. She was previously a shellfish worker and stay-at-home mom.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Raymond L. Hill; two sons, Raymond L. Hill III and Christopher R. Hill, both of Seabrook; one daughter, Kayleigh M. Hill of Seabrook; two grandchildren; one brother, Harold "Hardy" Nedeau of Seabrook; three sisters, Moreen (this is correct) Paquette of Epping, Teri Provencher and Cathy Moore, both of Seabrook; two uncles, Clyde F. Brown and Harold Perkins, both of Seabrook; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in Rand Memorial Church, Seabrook. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery, Seabrook.

Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

Leonore L. Paneyko

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Leonore Lane Paneyko, 95, died October 30, 2002, in the Medical Center at Princeton after a brief illness.

She was born in Hampton the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Lane. She was a 40-year resident of Princeton and Skillman, and maintained a home at Bar Harbor, Maine, for many years.

She was a graduate of the Dana Hall School, Wellesley, Mass., and a 1928 graduate of Smith College, Northampton, Mass.

Mrs. Paneyko devoted her life to family philanthropy. She supported many worthy causes and institutions in New Hampshire and elsewhere, including Lane Memorial Library in Hampton.

She traveled the world extensively and enjoyed reading, music, historical and cultural activities and her gardens.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew H.L. Paneyko of New York and Stephen H. Paneyko of Skillman; one daughter-in-law, Susan S. Paneyko; and three granddaughters.

A gathering of friends will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 5 p.m. at Bedens Brook Club, Skillman.

Memorial donations may be made to The Lane Memorial Library, 2 Academy Ave., Hampton, NH 03842 or to Smith Alumnae Fund, 33 Eden St., Northampton, MA 01063.

Arrangements are by the Mather-Hodge Funral Home, Princeton, N.J.

Virginia H. Pevear

NOTTINGHAM - Virginia H. Pevear, 76, of Stage Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, in Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dover, after a sudden illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1926 in Epping, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Helen (Blake) Bryant. She was a longtime resident of Epping and had resided in Nottingham for more than 35 years.

She was a graduate of Epping High School.

Mrs. Pevear was a leather worker for Regis Tannery in Raymond and also worked at home as a stitcher for National Shoe Co.

The widow of William H. Pevear Jr., who died in 1993, she is survived by two sons, Alfred Harmon and Robert Harmon Sr., both of Nottingham; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harry Bryant of Pittsfield.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Brewitt Funeral Home, 8 Pleasant St., Epping. Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery, Nottingham.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
