VALERIE CAMILLE FERRY, 91, of St. Cloud, Fla., died April 1, 1999 at home. Born and raised in Keyport, she lived in Florida for the past 12 years. Mrs. Ferry was a homemaker.
She was a life member of the Lincoln Hose Ladies Auxiliary, Keyport Fire Department; a life member of the Fire Patrol Ladies Auxiliary; and a long-time member of the Keyport Republican Club. Mrs. Ferry was predeceased by her husband, Stanley, in 1977 and a son, Robert I. in 1991. Services were under the direction of Bedle Funeral Home, Keyport.
Interment was at Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport. Memorial donations may be made to the Keyport Fire Department, 18 Main St., Keyport, NJ 07735.

VALERIE FERRY, AGE 91, granddaughter lives in WOODBRIDGE
Valerie Camille Ferry died Friday at home. She was 91.
She was born in Keyport and later moved to St. Cloud, Fla.
She was a homemaker.
She was a life member of the Lincoln Hose Ladies Auxiliary of the Keyport Fire Department, a life member of the Fire Patrol Ladies Auxiliary, and a longtime member of the Keyport Republican Club.
Her husband, Stanley, died in 1977, and a son, Robert I., died in 1991.
Surviving are two granddaughters, Barbara Nellis of St. Cloud and Lesley Adam of Woodbridge; two grandsons, Robert of Keyport and David of Leesburg, Va., and eight grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m Wednesday from the Bedle Funeral Home, 61 Broad St., Keyport, followed by burial at Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport.

ELAINE MARIE HICKMAN, 66, of Navesink died April 3, 1999 at home. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Navesink in 1966. She worked as a registered nurse for 16 years at Bayonne Hospital, retiring in 1997. Mrs. Hickman was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1980. Surviving are two sons, Raymond of Middletown and Charles D. of Brick; a daughter, Barbara Hickman Richon of New Cumberland, Pa.; and a brother, Ronald O'Keefe of Westfield. Services were under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.

PEARL E. KLINE KEMPF, 88, of Keyport died March 27, 1999 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Basking Ridge and Holmdel before moving to Keyport 10 years ago. Receiving her registered nursing degree from Methodist Episcopal Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had worked for many years as a registered nurse at the hospital. Mrs. Kempf was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Keyport.
She had worked as a substitute school nurse for many schools in New Jersey and as church librarian at Calvary United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Kempf of Keyport; and a son, David E. of Keyport.
Services were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment was at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

JACOB E. KOCH, 77, of Cliffwood Beach died March 31, 1999 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington before moving to Cliffwood Beach three years ago. He was a welder with Wendell Company in Irvington for 50 years, retiring in 1991. Mr. Koch was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving a Bronze and Silver Star. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Irvington.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Jean Sullivan, in 1998. Surviving are his wife, Anne Rickerhauser Koch; a daughter, Gloria Jean McFarland of Toms River; a sister, Ruth Steinmetz of Iselin; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Services were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Interment was at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union.

STANLEY MODZELEWSKI, 83, of the Port Monmouth section of Middletown died March 31, 1999 at home. Born in Jersey City, he lived in New Monmouth before moving to Port Monmouth in 1949. He retired in 1979 as a bottler machine maintenance person from Budweiser Brewery in Newark and prior to that had worked for Pabst Brewery in Newark, both totaling 52 years of employment. During World War II he was an iron worker with Federal Shipyards in Kearny. Mr. Modzelewski was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown.
He was a member of Teamsters Union Local No. 469, Perth Amboy. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Agnes Peterson Modzelewski; a son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Sarah of Maben, Miss.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alice and Robert Eckert of Port Monmouth and Jane and Robert Earle of Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Central NJ Hospice, 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701.

STELLA R. KENNEDY, 79, of Waretown died March 28, 1999 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Born in Union Beach, she lived in Keyport before moving to Waretown a year ago. She had worked as an assembler for several years at HR Johnson Tile Company in Keyport, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Kennedy was a communicant of Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, both in Keyport. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis, in 1987. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Mileto of Waretown and Frances Armstrong of Asbury Park; two granddaughters, Kelly Belford of Toms River and Cheryl Klein of Howell; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Keyport, with a Mass at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport.

DOLORES C. ROSSI, 72, of Freehold Township died April 1, 1999 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had resided there before moving to Freehold 33 years ago. Mrs. Rossi was employed as an AT&T operator in Freehold before retiring in 1989, and from 1960-65 had been a kindergarten teacher at Our Lady of Sorrows School, Jersey City. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court of St. Isabelle's Church, Bayonne, and a member of the Mothers Guild of St. Aloysius Academy, Jersey City. Mrs. Rossi was predeceased by her husband, Michael J., who died in 1991. Surviving are two sons, Enrico J. Sr. of Freehold Township and Michael J. Jr. of Freehold; a daughter, Diane C. Antico of Colts Neck; a brother, John P. Schneider of North Port, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Freeman Funeral Home, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Rose of Lima Church, both in Freehold. Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

RITA LYNNE MORSE PISANO, 56, of Jackson died April 2, 1999 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She lived in Hazlet before moving to Jackson Township two and a half years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Winding Ways Association. Born in Staten Island, N.Y. Mrs. Pisano was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Jackson, and a former communicant of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Louis; two sons, Louis of Hazlet and Robert of Manahawkin; a daughter, Laura Gumpel of Hillsborough; a brother, Richard Morse of Forked River; a sister, Elizabeth Zangwill of Staten Island; and five grandchildren. Services were under the direction of George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson Township.

GEORGE RYE, 56, of the Belford section of Middletown died April 3, 1999 at home. Born in New York City, he moved to Belford 44 years ago. Mr. Rye was employed as a mechanic for Centra Inspection Co. in the Lincroft section of Middletown for nine months and had previously worked with Boro Motors in Edison for 29 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Terhune Rye; a son, Kory of Belford; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Parleman of Belford; brothers- and sisters-in-laws, Nancy and Russell Terhune, Starr and Stephen Krist, Terrie Carney and Richard Terhune; mother- and father-in-law, Fred and Wilma Terhune; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to: Rainbow Foundation, 15 Cherry Tree Farm Road, New Monmouth, NJ 07748.

JOHN MAZZUCCO, 70, of New York City died April 4, 1999 at Franklin General Hospital, Franklin Square, Long Island, N.Y. He was born in New York City and worked for the Department of Sanitation in New York City. Mr. Mazzucco was predeceased by his wife, Catherine. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Lynch of Franklin Square, Long Island and Catherine Rossi; a brother, Salvatore Mazzucco of Hazlet; a sister, Marion Mertz of New York City; and three grandchildren.
Services were under the direction of Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, with a Mass set for 9:30 a.m. today at St. Bartholomew's Church, East Brunswick. Interment was to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

CONCETTA 'CONNIE' AVENIA SANTOMAURO, 81, of the Belford section of Middletown died April 3, 1999 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. Bom in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Belford 18 years ago. She worked as a clerk for Merrill Lynch in New York for 10 years, retiring 18 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown, and a former communicant of St. Brendan's Roman Catholic Church, Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her husband, Carmine in 1992.
Surviving are a son, Michael of Santa Fe, N.M.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Camille and Louis LeNeve of Middletown and Barbara and Mike Raimondi of Middletown; three sisters, Ray Puzo of Paramus, Rose Saraniti of Brooklyn and Josephine Loffredo of Staten Island; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Services were under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with a religious service to be held today at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church.
Interment was to be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.

FRANCES WENZOWCZ TARNOWSKI, 87, of Middletown died March 31, 1999 at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. Bom in Buffalo, N.Y., she lived in Newark and Bound Brook before moving to Middletown 25 years ago. She and her family were captured by the German Army in World War II and held in a concentration camp; she survived since she could act as an interpreter but she lost all her brothers and sisters in the Holocaust. Mrs. Tarnowski was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg.
She was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam, in 1959 and a daughter, Irene Tully in 1998. Surviving are two granddaughters and a son-in-law with whom she lived, David Tully. Services were under the direction of John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, with a religious service at St. Ann's Church.

HELEN FEDOR, 81, of Howell died March 27, 1999 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Miss Fedor was a resident of Howell Haven, Howell, for more than 20 years. There are no known survivors. Services were held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. C.H.T. Clayton and Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, was in charge of arrangements.

Anthony J. Lordi
Services were held Jan. 2, 1990 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. for Anthony J. Lordi, 68, of Middletown. who died Dec. 28 at Riverview Medical Center. Red Bank.
He worked for 35 years in the insurance business, and was predident of Washington National of New York before retiring several years ago. Prior to that, he was a vice president of Home Life Insurane, and was a topper manager for Mutual of New York for about 20 years.
About 20 years ago, he was chairman of the New Jersey Commission of Banking and Insurance; member and past officer Elks Lodge 233, Red Bank; member and past president of the Red Bank and East Meadow, N.Y., Kiwanis Clubs; a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Palm Beach, Fla.; member of the Men's Auxiliary of the Little Silver Women's Club; the Men's Walking Group of King of Kings Lutheran Church; former member of Big Brothers of America, and a member of Sons of Italy.
Lordi was born in New Yok and lived here for the past 23 years. He was also a winter resident of Palm Beach County. Fla.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret M. Cassidy; three daughters, Margie Meyer, and Linda Patterson, both here, and Lillian Satterlee, Edgewatcr, Md.; his mother, Lillian, Richmond, Va.; two brothers, William, Richmond, and Michael, Sea Cliff, N.Y.; a sister, Ann, Richmond, and five grandchildren.
John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, was in charge of arrangements.

Alex Gayga
Services were held Jan. 3, 1990 at Holy Family Church. Union Beach, for Alex Gayga, 78, of Hazlet. who died Dec. 31, 1989 at home.
He was a manager for Supreme Linen Suppliers, Elizabeth, for 20 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church. Elizabeth. Gayga was also a member of the Greater Elizabeth Racing Pigeon Club, the Newark Racing Pigeon Club and the OIC Pigeon Club. Linden.
Born Gary, Ind., he lived in Elizabeth before mvoing to Hazlet 11 years ago.
Surviving arc his wife. Jean Sobozenski; a son, Alexander Gayga Jr., Middletown; three daughters. Geraldine Muccione, Mount Olive Township; Carol Morales, Union Township, and Nancy Sillocicks, Hazlet; six sisters, Mary Balsai and Elsie Emme, both of Point Pleasant, Helen Matlose, Colts Neck; Ethel Blaine, Florida, and Margaret Emme and Julia Smith, both of Elizabeth, and nine grandchildren.
Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
Laurel Funeral Home, Hazlet, was in charge of arrangements.

Pearle White Beck
Pearle White Beck, 75, of Holmdel, died Dec. 24, 1989 at her son's home in Tinton Falls.
Born in Red Bank, she had lived in Holmdel for more than 50 years.
Her husband. Jules, died in 1983.
Surviving is one son, Steven Beck, Tinton Falls.
Holmdel Funeral Home. Holmdel, was in charge of arrangements.

Mildred L. Butler
Services were held Dec. 30, 1989 at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, for Mildred L. Butler, 73, of Hazlet. who died Dec. 26, 1989 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
Butler wrote for the former Keyport Weekly and Matawan Journal newspapers.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society; Miss New Jersey and the fifth runner-up at the Miss America Pageant of 1934: member of the League of Women Voters, here; member of the Actors Guild of New York: wrote several short stories. including "The Ring of Love." published in 1958 in Monmouth Letters Literary Magazine, and was a volunteer in the Research Blood Laboratory at Rutgers University.
Butler was born in Castle Shannon. Pa., and lived in Linden before moving here in 1953.
Her husband, Bradford, died in 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Bradford Jr., Falls Church, Va., and Kenneth, Langley, Va.: a daughter, Joan Snyder, Eatontown; a sister, Nellie DiGiralamo, North Miami Beach. Fla.: four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, South Brunswick.
Day Funeral Home. Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
