Deborah H. Stansfield
Born: 05/18/1957 - Died: 09/23/2007
Stansfield, Deborah H. age 50 of Branchville, NJ died Sunday September 23rd, 2007 at the Compassionate Care Hospice Dover, NJ following a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. Born in Paterson, NJ Deborah grew up and resided many years in West Paterson, before moving to Sussex County thirty years ago. A 1975 graduate of the Passaic Valley Regional HS, she was employed as the Operations Manager of the Skylands Medical Group, Newton, NJ. Mrs. Stansfield enjoyed to travel as well as reading, needle point and crochet. A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sibling, Deborah will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Pre deceased by her father Bernard Hoban in 1990, survivors include her husband Eugene of Branchville, her daughters Lauren Van Hook of Hamilton, Andrielle Van Hook and fiancé Ryan Spadaccini of Branchville. Also her mother Joan Hoban along with her late companion Jarl Palmer 1996 of West Paterson, NJ. Also survived by her sister Janet and husband Steve Dunay of Sarasota, FL, her cherished pet Dale, as well as many other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday September 29th, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday Sept. 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kaleidoscope of Hope Foundation PO Box 1124 Madison, NJ 07940 www.kohnj.org or to the Compassionate Care Hospice #400 West Blackwell St. Dover, NJ 07801.

Steven L. Felsen
Born: 04/19/1948 - Died: 09/11/2007
Felsen, Steven L. age 59 of the Forrest Lake section of Byram Twp. died Tuesday September 11th, 2007 at the Hackensack University Medical Center following a long brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY Mr. Felsen had lived in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Twp before moving to Byram Twp. thirty one years ago. A 1966 graduate of the Morris Hills HS, Steven was later graduated from the Glassboro State College receiving his Bachelors degree in Music Education. In 1976 he completed his Masters Degree studies in Saxophone Performance from the Trenton State College. A Professional Musician and Middle School Music Teacher, Steven had previously worked for the Clifton, Mt. Olive, Randolph and Millburn Boards of Education. Currently Mr. Felsen was the Music Teacher for the Sussex Wantage Middle School as well as a private instructor for many years. Mr. Felsen was active in many organizations such as the National and New Jersey Education Association, the Sussex Wantage Education Association, the Music Educators Conference, as well as the Sussex County Junior Band. Steven had been a member and Conductor of the West Morris Community Band, as well as the former Manager of the North Jersey Area Band. He was also a member of the Lake Forrest Club Association. Pre deceased by his father the late Walter Felsen in 1994, Steven is survived by his wife of thirty four years Susan E. (Innes). Also his son Ryan I. of Stanhope, and his daughter Melany E. Felsen of Byram Twp. Also survived by his mother Fannie (Schor)Felsen of Mt. Arlington, his brother Michael B. of Morris Plains, as well as his niece Jayme Alfano of Little Falls. Visitation will be held in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ Sunday September 16th, 2007 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM immediately followed by closing prayers. Gertrude Bartolino
Born: 01/08/1921 - Died: 09/08/2007
Bartolino, Gertrude age 86 of Stillwater Twp., died Saturday September 8th, 2007 at the Newton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Union City, NJ she had resided there for many years. She had also lived in Palisades Park, for thirty five years before moving to Stillwater Twp., in 1994. Daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Grant) Naber, Gertrude was a loving and devoted wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed baking and singing. She was a former and active member of the Morsemere Community Church in Ridgefield, NJ for many years. She was Past President of the Church Council, active in the Choir, as well as the Church Parent Teachers Guild. Gertrude was also a member of Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church Frelinghuysen Twp. On November 9th, 2006 Gertrude renewed her wedding vows to her husband Rennie on their sixty fifth anniversary. On February 7th Mr. Bartolino passed away. Gertrude was also pre deceased by three sisters Florence Naszimento, Dorothy Quigley and Audrey Laverty. Survivors include her Son Rene and wife Diane Bartolino of Ormond Beach, her daughter Christine and husband Bob Mayes of Green Twp as well as her sister Joan Jackson of Palisades Park, NJ. Also survived by her grandchildren William and wife Debbie Mayes, and Meredith Mayes, as well as two great granddaughters Britnie and Caitlyn Mayes.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 13th, 2007 at 10:30 AM in the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church. Interment will immediately follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday Sept. 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Yellow Frame Presbyterian Church Yellow Frame Rd. Newton, NJ 07860.

Sophia H. Gozdenovich
Born: 05/28/1917 - Died: 08/21/2007
Gozdenovich, Sophia E. age 89 of Budd Lake, NJ died Tuesday August 21, 2007 in Andover, NJ following a brief illness.
Born in New York, NY she had resided many years in Fairview, NJ before moving to Sparta in 1980. After living in Sparta for many years, Sophia resided in Budd Lake with her daughter. Daughter of the late Albert and Natalia (Wolfgard) Greenwald, Sophia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who had been active in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cliffside Park, as well as the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Newton for many years. Pre deceased by her husband Marian N. in 1982 as well as a son Robert M. in 2003, she is survived by her sons Martin A. of Sparta, and John R. of Bogata. Also survived by her daughters Marianne K. Shaw of Budd Lake, Starr LaTorre of Point Pleasant and Linda M. Drake of Price Twp., PA. Mrs. Gozdenovich is also survived by her sister Alma H. Glasser of Paramus as well as her seventeen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 24th at 10:00 AM in the Redeemer Lutheran Church #37 Newton Sparta Rd. Newton.
Interment will follow in the Sparta Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday Aug. 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street, Newton, NJ.
