MICHAEL A. "SHORTY" REO SR., 82, of MIDDLETOWN
MICHAEL A. "SHORTY" REO SR., 82, of MIDDLETOWN, died Thursday at home. He was a welder and foreman for Brooklyn Naval Yard and the Military Ocean Terminal, Bayonne, where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1978. After that, he worked for the Garden State Parkway Authority as a toll collector in Keyport for 10 years. He was a member of the Italian American Club of Jersey City and the LaSalle Club of Jersey City. He was a communicant and usher at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown. He served in the Navy during World War II as a ship fitter 2nd class. Born in Jersey City, he lived there before moving to Middletown 41 years ago.
He was predeceased by his father, Carmine Reo; and his mother, Ralphella Bianca. Surviving are his wife, Joan E. Morris Reo; two sons, Michael A. Jr. of Belford, Middletown, and Darren of Mount Tabor; three daughters, Lorraine Phy of Fort Worth, Texas, Linda Earley of Watauga, Texas, and Nadine Wellauer of Navesink, Middletown; two brothers, Dominic "Dapper" Reo of Jersey City, and Fred Reo of Florida; a sister, Barbara Guerra of Chico, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be held 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and a Funeral Liturgy will be offered 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Church, North Middletown. Burial will be in Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Eastern Division, Monmouth Division, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702. MICHAEL JOSEPH BURKE, 56, of BRIELLE
MICHAEL JOSEPH BURKE, 56, of BRIELLE, died Thursday at Brick Hospital. He was a police officer for the city of Elizabeth for 19 years, retiring in 1985 and was a member of the Elizabeth PBA He was an avid golfer, organized the Elizabeth PBA golf outings for many years and was a member of the Harrigans Golf Association, Sea Girt. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2151, Brick, and the Elizabeth YMCA Handball Association. Born in Linden, he lived in Elizabeth for many years and then in Point Pleasant Beach for several years before moving to Brielle 10 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Jorene DeAmicis Burke; three brothers, Edmund Jr. of Spring Lake, George and Richard, both of Brick; and a sister, Esther Kapcsos of Lake Hopatcong.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. A Memorial Mass will be offered at a later date. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

SOLVEIG "SUSAN" PALMBLAD, 66, of MIDDLETOWN, died Thursday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Uppsala, Sweden, she came to the United States 48 years ago. She moved to Middletown 35 years ago.

VIVIAN MC GOWAN, 89, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP
VIVIAN MC GOWAN, 89, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Thursday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was the office manager/bookkeeper for Lackawanna Warehouse, Jersey City, for 20 years, retiring in 1974. Born in Garwood, she lived in Jersey City before moving to Freehold Township. She had lived in the Silvermead community, Freehold Township, from 1971 to 1999. From 1999 until her death, she resided here with her daughter.
Her husband of 54 years, Charles V., died in 1996. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Joseph Soldano of Freehold Township; and two grandchildren, Kendale Soldano and Brian Soldano.
Visiting will be 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, 958 Adelphia Road (Route 524), Adelphia, Howell. A funeral service will be held 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Hugh MacKenzie officiating. Contributions in memory of Mrs. McGowan may be made to the American Cancer Society, Monmouth Unit, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, NJ 07702.

ANN P. GRIMM, 44, of BRICK
ANN P. GRIMM, 44, of BRICK, died yesterday at Brick Hospital. She was a homemaker, a loving wife and a soccer mom. Born in Newark, she lived in Roselle before moving to Brick 12 years ago.
She was predeceased by her father, Charles. Surviving are her husband, Fred R. Grimm Jr.; four sons, Fred III of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., Jason of Brick, Michael of Toms River, and Jonathan, at home; a daughter, Lauren Grimm, at home; her mother, Claire Marsch Grega of Brick; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Michael Bender of Brick; and a grandchild.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. A chapel service will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Ocean County Memorial Park, Silverton Road, Toms River. Entombment will follow.

CAROLINE T. MUELLER HUSSEY, 94, of BRICK, died Thursday at the Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Allenwood, Wall. She was a homemaker. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Elizabeth before moving to Brick nine years ago.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard T. Hussey. Surviving are three daughters, Helen Molnar of Brick, Ruth Miller of Cranford, and Caroline Cannone of Mystic Island, Little Egg Harbor; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mastapeter Funeral Home, 400 Faitoute Ave., Roselle Park. Funeral will be 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, Roselle Park. Interment will be in St. Gertude Cemetery, Colonia, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Geraldine Thompson Care Center, P.O. Box 347, Allenwood, NJ 08720.

DONALD EUGENE RUCKI SR., 68, of JACKSON
DONALD EUGENE RUCKI SR., 68, of JACKSON, died Thursday at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was a hall monitor with the Jackson Township Board of Education for 1 1/2 years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He attended Jackson Baptist Church. He was soon to become a grandfather for the 18th time. Born in Newark, he lived in Irvington before moving to Jackson 39 years ago.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Ida Wolfarth Rucki and a sister, Gloria Illeck. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Geraldine "Gerry" Carman Rucki; three sons, Donald E. Jr., Kenny and Rick, all of Jackson; six daughters, Debra Kimble of Middletown, Elizabeth Pollock of Freehold, Darlene Mulligan of Edgewater, Fla., and Karen Soutar, Cathy Keller and Gerilyn Pugliese, all of Jackson; two brothers, Edward of Union and Albert of Denville; four sisters, Norma Ackerman of Union, Virginia Joans of Pennsylvania, Beverly Rucki of Union and Joan Kinshella of Union; 17 grandchildren, with another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson; services will be held at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Deborah Hospital Foundation, New Jersey Region, Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015-0820.

FRANCIS J. ZEBROWSKI, 79, of LAKEWOOD
FRANCIS J. ZEBROWSKI, 79, of LAKEWOOD, died yesterday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a carpet installer for Thousands Oaks, Atlantic Highlands, retiring in 1990. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a charter member of the Eatontown Elks and a former member of the Eatontown Fire Department. He was an avid golfer. Born in Long Island, he lived in Atlantic Highlands, Neptune City and Eatontown before moving to Lakewood 10 years ago.
He was predeceased by two sons, Frank Jr., in 1986, and Robert, in 1975; a brother, Theodore; and his parents, Alexander and Theophila Zebrowski. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Rose Zebrowski; two sons and daughter-in-law, William P. and Helen Zebrowski of Wall, and Charles Zebrowski of Miami, Fla.; three daughters, Rosemary Farrell of Eatontown, Judith A. Dowd of Brick, and Joyce Zebrowski of Hoboken; a brother, Hank Zebrowski of Eatontown; a sister, Victoria Wade of Red Bank; and nine grandchildren, William Zebrowski Jr., Kymberly Zebrowski, Stacie Zebrowski, Christine Zebrowski, Robert Zebrowski, Robert Farrell Jr., Katelyn Farrell, Amber Dowd, and Cailey Zebrowski.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad St., Eatontown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch.

GENEVIEVE R. BROWN EIDEL, 72, of TOMS RIVER, died Wednesday at Meridian Health Care Center, Brick. She was a homemaker. Born in Newark, she lived in Union, Tampa, Fla., and West Caldwell before moving to Toms River in 1997.
She was predeceased by her husband, George J. Sr.; a daughter, Kathleen McCullough; and a granddaughter, Jenny Lynn. Surviving are three sons, George J. Jr. of Point Pleasant, Stephen J. of Carlsbad, Calif., and Thomas E. of West Caldwell; five sisters, Maryann Puopolo of Lakewood, Anita Meyler of Belleville, Joan Dapuzzo of Glen Ridge, Helen Dean of Princeton, and Margaret Gray of Belleville; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Stephanie, Crystal, Jay, Meghan, and Thomas; and a great-grandson, Noah.
Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Dancy Funeral Home, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell. A funeral will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

LT. COL. ROBERT B. WIXSON, 83, of ISLAND HEIGHTS
LT. COL. ROBERT B. WIXSON, 83, of ISLAND HEIGHTS, died yesterday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after 21 years of service. He served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. He was a member of Falcon Creek Golf Club at McGuire Air Force Base, the Retired Officers Association and the Arc Ocean County Chapter. Born in Brooklyn, he traveled extensively with the military, settling in Island Heights 36 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Carroll Drexler Wixson; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Maureen Wixson of Toms River; a daughter, Holly A. Wixson of Brick; and a granddaughter, Maggie Theresa Wixson.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Arc-Ocean County Chapter, 815 Cedar Bridge Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701, in his name would be appreciated.

MAE A. MEYER BOYD, 81, of Forked River, LACEY, died yesterday at home. She was an operator for New Jersey Bell in Paterson and Little Falls in the 1940s and '50s. She was past matron of Clifton Chapter 269 Order of Eastern Star and was a member of Peace Chapter 98 Order of Eastern Star, both in Clifton. She was a former member of Allwood Community Church, Clifton. She was also a member of the "Yorkies" in Forked River. Born in Hawthorne, she lived in Clifton for 35 years before moving to Ocean County 10 years ago.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert N. Boyd; three daughters, Beverly Ann Boyd of Parsippany, Sherry Lee Brand of Clifton, and Cathy Mae Yingling of Morris Plains; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, with Eastern Star services at 7:30 p.m., at Allwood Funeral Home, 660-670 Allwood Road, Clifton. Funeral services will be held noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Medic Alert Foundation, 2323 Colorado Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
