VERONICA "RONNIE" SANTEE, 87, of ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS
VERONICA "RONNIE" SANTEE, 87, of ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, died Saturday at home. She was a cook for the fishing boat "The Fisherman" in Atlantic Highlands for more than 30 years. She was also the former proprietor of Santee's Grocery Store and Santee's Quality Fuel Oil Co., both in Paterson, for many years, retiring in the early 1950s. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Highlands. She was a member of the Atlantic Highlands Senior Citizens Club and AARP. She enjoyed fishing and cooking. Born in DuBois, Pa., she lived in Paterson and Wayne before moving to Atlantic Highlands in 1974.
She was predeceased by her parents, Pasquale and Catherine Malorgio; her husband, John E. Santee, in 1973; and a son, John Santee, in 1971. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Santee of Atlantic Highlands and Robert A. Santee of Bloomingdale; a brother, Dominick Malorgio of Dover; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Posten's Funeral Home, 59 E. Lincoln Ave. at Central Avenue, Atlantic Highlands. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.

WILLIAM J. REILLY, 44, of FARMINGDALE
WILLIAM J. REILLY, 44, of FARMINGDALE, died Saturday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He loved boating and freshwater fishing. Born in the Bronx, he lived in Jackson before moving to Farmingdale in 1983.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Margaret Reilly and a brother, Dwayne. Surviving are his wife, Valerie Ragsdale Reilly; a son, Shane of Farmingdale; four brothers, Francis E. of West Virginia, Kevin of Newburg, N.Y., Michael W. of Conroe, Texas and Edward of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Miick of Toms River; two nephews, Adam and Scott Miick, both of Toms River; and his stepmother, Patricia Reilly of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Reilly Funeral Home, 8th Avenue and D Street, Belmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Catherine's Church, Farmingdale. Entombment will be at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. Memorial donations can be made to Catholic Charities, 145 Maple Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701.

DOROTHY K. O'DEA MC GILL, 87, of BRICK
DOROTHY K. O'DEA MC GILL, 87, of BRICK, died Saturday at the Meridian Nursing Home, Brick. She was an elementary school teacher for the West New York Board of Education for 25 years. She was a member of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in 1936 from Fordham University, New York. Born and raised in Jersey City, she lived in West New York for 40 years. She moved to Greenbriar II, Brick, 20 years ago.
Her husband, Thomas McGill, died in 1988; a sister, Anne Horan, died in 1995. Surviving are a brother, Joseph O'Dea of Bloomfield; seven nieces; a nephew; 19 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; and two great-great-grandnieces.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant. Entombment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Wall.

JOHN SCYPINSKI, 83, of TOMS RIVER
JOHN SCYPINSKI, 83, of TOMS RIVER, died yesterday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a machinist for Ray Bestes, Passaic, for 29 years, retiring in 1974. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Berkeley. He was also a member of the Ridge Park Men's Club. He was born in Jersey City and spent many years in Lyndhurst before moving to Silver Ridge Park, Berkeley, in 1981.
He was predeceased by his wife, Cecelia Scypinski. Surviving are two sons, Ted Scypinski of Basking Ridge, and Stephan Scypinski of Georgia; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Ted Scypinski of Lincoft, and Stanley Scypinski of Texas.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, Berkeley. Interment will be at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.

MILDRED M. EVELAND, 88, of Hamburg, N.Y., formerly of MANCHESTER
MILDRED M. EVELAND, 88, of Hamburg, N.Y., formerly of MANCHESTER, died Friday at the Lakewood Health Care Center, Hamburg. She was a June 1933 graduate of Adelphi College, Garden City, Long Island, with a bachelor of arts degree. She was a member of the Leisure Knoll Chapter of Deborah Hospital Foundation. She was a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Garden City for 40 years and in Manchester for 11 years before moving to Hamburg, N.Y., in 1997. She was married in November of 1937.
Her husband, Edward H. Eveland, died in 1987. Surviving are two daughters, Barbara E. Benner of Ridgefield, Conn., and Clare E. Meyer of Buffalo, N.Y.; a sister, Margaret Schaardt of Manahawkin; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Road, Lakehurst. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Lakehurst. Interment will be at the Whiting Memorial Park, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

Arthur W. Soriano, retired PSE&G supervisor
RARITAN BOROUGH -- Arthur W. Soriano, 85, died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at home. Born in Raritan, he was a lifelong borough resident.
Mr. Soriano served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946 in the 78th Infantry Division in Germany and Belgium. During his tour, he achieved the American Theater Ribbon, the Bronze Star with three-star cluster and a Victory Medal. He was commander of the VFW Sante Moretti Post No. 1748 of Raritan from 1950 to 1951 and also served as its Trustee. Mr. Soriano worked for Public Service, Electric and Gas Co. in Plainfield as a construction supervisor for thirty years before retiring in 1977. He also was a member of the Raritan Relief Hose Co. No. 2 for 54 years, serving as fire chief from 1974 to 1975, and was a member of the Fireman's Exempt and Relief Association. He was a former president of the Veteran's Association.
Arthur was a communicant of St. Ann's Roman Catholic church in Raritan and a member of its Golden Age Group. He also served as an active member on the Church Festa Committee for many years. Mr. Soriano was a member of the Raritan Senior Citizens group. Arthur enjoyed gardening and carpentry.
He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Mary Carlino Soriano; two sons, Arthur W. Soriano Jr. and daughter-in-law Michelle of Raritan Township, and Anthony Soriano and daughter-in-law Mary Kate of Raritan; five grandchildren, William, Michael, Kristine, Anthony Jr. and Matthew Soriano; a sister, Helen Soriano of Raritan; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 8:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Route 202 S., Branchburg followed by a 9 a.m. funeral liturgy at at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Raritan. Entombment will follow in the St. Bernard's Cemetery Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edwin T. Roworth Sr., beloved husband of 60 years
WARREN, MORRISVILLE, Vt. -- Mr. Edwin Thomas Roworth Sr. died Saturday (May 5, 2001) at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville.
Born in Newark, he grew up in Caldwell and resided in Piscataway, Morrisville, Vt., and Watchung before moving to Warren 30 years ago. He continues to maintain a second residence in Morrisville, Vt.
Prior to retiring, he owned Roworth's Market in Piscataway for over 10 years.
Mr. Roworth was a member of the National Society, Sons of the American Revolution, NJ Society, having thirteen ancestors who fought under George Washington. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Bridgewater. He was an avid stamp collector who attended regular stamp club meetings in Warren and enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Alice H. Janowski Roworth; a son, Edwin T. Jr. of Warren; a daughter, Virginia Kacer of Carolina Shores, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Edwin T. III, Lauren Mario, Merrick and Cherie Kacer.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Mount Roman Catholic Church, Warren, and interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

John William Wilckens, World War II veteran
PHILLIPSBURG -- John William (Bill) Wilckens, 86, of Phillipsburg died Friday (May 4, 2001) at the Cedar Oaks Care Center in South Plainfield.
He was born in New York and was a former 75 resident of Newark before moving to Phillipsburg 10 years ago.
Mr. Wilckens was a boiler engineer for Corby's Laundry in Summit for many years. He then worked for United Hospitals in Newark for 10 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 68 of West Caldwell.
Bill was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Forces in the 531st Fighter Squadron Battalion participating in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign in Iwo Jima and Saipan.
He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. He loved to play shuffle board and pool. He was an avid fisherman and his favorite pastime was helping and doing general repairs for his family and friends.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Mary Orson Wilckens; his sons, Robert and Dennis Wilckens both of North Plainfield; his daughter, Susan Wilckens of Phillipsburg; his grandchildren, Daniel, James and Kristine; and his sisters, Emily Rose of Richmond, Calif., and Helen Russell of Westfield.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the James W. Conroy Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, followed by an 11 a.m. service at Grace Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. Burial will follow at the Greenwich Cemetery in Stewartsville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary A. Dowdy, seamstress
BOUND BROOK -- Mary A. Dowdy of Bound Brook died Sunday (May 6, 2001) at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville.
Mrs. Dowdy was born in Hazelton, Pa. and had lived in Bound Brook since infancy. She had been employed for many years as a seamstress for L.L. Gidding in Middlesex. Mrs. Dowdy was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Church's Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Ladies of Mount Carmel Society in Bound Brook.
Surviving are her husband, Dewey Howard Dowdy; two sisters, Angelina Buono and Rosemarie Pitoscia, both of Bound Brook; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Taggart-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 305 E. High St., Bound Brook, followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Burial will be in Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
