LAURA J. FEURY, 44, of Richmond, Va., formerly of MIDDLETOWN
LAURA J. FEURY, 44, of Richmond, Va., formerly of MIDDLETOWN, died Friday at home. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1975 and studied art with Jim Avaiti of Red Bank. She modeled for Delacorte Press in New York City. Later, she received a bachelor's degree from Harbor College, San Pedro, Calif. She was a member of the Richmond Historical Society. She was a communicant of St. Edward's Roman Catholic Church, Richmond and a former member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth, Middletown. She was a well known artist in Richmond. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Middletown most of her life and in San Pedro, Calif., before moving to Richmond eight years ago.
A brother, Michael J. Feury, died in 1985. Surviving are her parents, Eugene P. Feury and Frances K. Lamont Feury of Middletown; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Patrick R. Feury of Greenwich, Conn., and Terence P. and Tara Feury of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral gathering will be held 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, New Monmouth. Burial will be in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. LUCILLE CARNEVALE GIAIMO, 87, of LONG BRANCH
LUCILLE CARNEVALE GIAIMO, 87, of LONG BRANCH, died Monday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch, for five years. She was a parishioner of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Carteret before moving to Long Branch in 1955.
Her husband, Peter Giaimo, died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Gary V. Giaimo of Atlantic Highlands, and Peter B. Giaimo of Fort Pierce, Fla.
Relatives and friends may call 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Michael's Church, West End, Long Branch. Interment will be in Monmouth Memorial Park Cemetery, Tinton Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to I.A.M.A., 195 West End Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740. MARION E. BURKHARDT, 76, of RED BANK
MARION E. BURKHARDT, 76, of RED BANK, died Monday at home. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Rothenberg, Shrewsbury, for 20 years, retiring six years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury and its Mission Bells. Born in Scranton, Pa., she lived in the Lincroft section of Middletown, and Kearny before moving to Red Bank.
A granddaughter, Dana Pampel, died in 1985. Surviving are a son, Richard C. Hayes of Monroe Township; a daughter, Doreen G. Pampel of Little Silver; a sister, Jean Koegler of Lincroft; and four grandchildren, David Hayes, Amanda Hayes, Kevin and Faith Pampel.
There will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Presbyterian Church at Shrewsbury. Donations may be made to Tomorrow's Children's Fund, 30 Prospect St., Hackensack, NJ 07601. Worden-Hoidal Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.

RICHARD JOHN SIMS, 57, of HAZLET
RICHARD JOHN SIMS, 57, of HAZLET, died Monday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He worked in computer systems operations for IBM Global, Newark, for 10 years. Before that, he worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield of New Jersey, Newark. He was a corporal in the Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Queens before moving to Hazlet 20 years ago.
He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Sims. Surviving are his wife, Linda Boro Sims; a daughter, Kerilynn Sims, at home; his parents, James H. and Loretta Sims of Richmond, Va.; a brother, James P. Sims of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral will be held 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home followed by a 9:30 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at Holy Family Church, Union Beach. Interment will be in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. SOPHIE KAWIETZKE, of ASBURY PARK
SOPHIE KAWIETZKE, of ASBURY PARK, died Saturday at home. She worked for Westvaco Paper Co., New York City, for 20 years. She attended St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Deal, and was a member of Asbury Park Woman's Club. Born in New York City, she lived there before moving to Asbury Park 12 years ago.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Nicholas, Alexander and Anthony Kawietzke. Surviving are a sister, Marie Flynn of Los Angeles; and a niece, Donna Forcier of Belmar.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, Deal. Interment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall. Buckley Funeral Home, Asbury Park, is in charge of arrangements.

BARBARA A. FOWLER, 62, of TOMS RIVER
BARBARA A. FOWLER, 62, of TOMS RIVER, died Sunday at home after a fierce battle with breast cancer. She was a graduate of Georgian Court College. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society of Ocean County. She was an independent woman and lived her life on her own terms. She was a devoted mother who deeply loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. She was happiest when her family and friends were around her. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Mountainside before moving to Toms River 35 years ago.
A son, Keith D. Ruppe, died in 1995. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce A. and Krista Figular of Toms River, and Robert L. and Sonoe Figular of Hopewell; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan P. and William Nowak of Brick; a sister, Gail B. Longo of Kearny; four grandchildren, Nikki, William, Christopher and Devon; and two nieces, Gina and Cynthia.
Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Funeral services will be held 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. As much as she loved flowers, she requested before her death that money be donated to the American Cancer Society to benefit research so other women could live free from breast cancer.

BRUCE O. TAMLYN, 74, of Leisure Village West, MANCHESTER
BRUCE O. TAMLYN, 74, of Leisure Village West, MANCHESTER, died Sunday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. He was a regional manager of personnel for GMAC, New York City, for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a graduate of Poly Prep, Brooklyn, in 1943 and Yale University, New Haven, Conn., in 1946 with a bachelor's degree. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946 with the rank of lieutenant. From 1946 to 1962 he was in the Navy Reserve. He was a member of Pinelands Reformed Church, Toms River, and previously Old Paramus Reformed Church,, where he served as an elder and a member of the choir in both churches. When his children were small, he was involved in the town youth programs as well as the Boy Scouts of America. He was very active in Leisure Village West. He was director of the Vision Inc., a senior services organization, and sat on the board for 12 years. He was involved in the TV station LVW-TV where he conducted local interviews. He was very active in fund-raising for the Leisure Village West Chapter of the Deborah Foundation. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Ho-Ho-Kus before moving to Manchester 14 years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Nancy Wray Tamlyn; three sons, the Rev. W. Bruce Tamlyn of Silver Bay, N.Y., the Rev. Keith Tamlyn of Wallkill, N.Y., and Richard Tamlyn of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and their families; four grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, L. Gates Wray of Midland Park.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Pinelands Reformed Church, 898 Route 37 West, Toms River. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial donations may be made to either Deborah Foundation-LVW Chapter, 4 Buckingham Drive, Lakehurst, NJ 08733, or Pinelands Reformed Church, 898 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.

F.G. "BUD" CORBUTT, 80, of LAKEWOOD
F.G. "BUD" CORBUTT, 80, of LAKEWOOD, died yesterday at home. He was a national sales manager at Industrial Timer, Parsippany, for 46 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Carrol Council, Hoboken; member and past treasurer of the Men's Club of A Country Place, and Coventry Square, both of Lakewood. He was also director of Altar Servers from St. Leo's Roman Catholic Church, Waterbury, Conn., and St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, Parlin, Sayreville. He was a communicant of St. Mary of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, Lakewood. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a tailgunner with more than 50 combat missions in B-26 bombers, and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Waterbury, Conn., before moving to Lakewood six years ago.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Dolores Coburn Corbutt; two sons, Thomas Corbutt of Lakewood, and Gregory Corbutt of Bethesda, Md.; three sisters, Eleanor McGregor and Geraldine Smith, both of Monroe Township, and Marie Ianaconni of Jersey City; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home 9:15 a.m. Friday before a Funeral Liturgy at 10:15 a.m. from St. Mary of the Lake Church, Route 9 North, Lakewood. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Honey Locust Street, Lakewood.

KENNETH ALLEN STACKHOUSE, 56, of Richmond, Va., formerly of BARNEGAT
KENNETH ALLEN STACKHOUSE, 56, of Richmond, Va., formerly of BARNEGAT, died Saturday in Richmond, Va. He was an associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Virginia Comonwealth University. He received a Ph.D. at the University of Florida. He was an author of numerous professional publications and translations. Dr. Stackhouse played flamenco and classical guitar, was fond of sailing and sailboarding, loved poetry and attended the symphony orchestra concerts regularly. Born in Barnegat, he lived there before moving to Richmond, Va., in 1973.
Surviving are his wife, Marcia Dunham Stackhouse; two children, Amy Dunham Stackhouse and Daniel Jennings Stackhouse; his mother, Virginia Nunn; a brother, Norman Stackhouse; and his 10-month old granddaughter, Emily Dunham Sussmann.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 335 S. Main St., Barnegat. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Barnegat Memorial Cemetery.

MARY E. SALMINI, 79, of Holiday City, BERKELEY, died Thursday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a collator in the blueprint department of Western Electric, Kearny, for 25 years, retiring in 1978. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Parsippany before moving to Berkeley 24 years ago.
Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Robert J. Salmini; three sons, Alfred Stanaway of Livingston, Thomas Stanaway of Secaucus, and William Stanaway of Brick; three daughters, Ann Marie Lauten of South Plainfield, Mary Stanaway of Jersey City, and Loretta Heba of Toms River; two brothers, James Carugan of Pennsylvania, and John Carugan of Jersey City; a sister, Ann Keller of Bogota; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, NJ 08015. DeGraff Cremation Services, Lakehurst, is in charge of arrangements.

MARY L. MC CARTHY, 85, of TOMS RIVER, died yesterday at Arbors Care Center, Toms River. She was a homemaker. Born in Boston, she lived in the Bronx before moving to Toms River 20 years ago.
Surviving are a son, Dr. George E. McCarthy, Ph.D., of Gambler, Ohio; a daughter, Dr. Dolores McCarthy, M.D., of Toms River; and two grandchildren.
