Rose Milea King, died peacefully at home on Monday, Oct. 10th, her 97th birthday.
Mrs. King was born in Mayfield, Pennsylvania and after living in Scranton moved to Highland Park 67 years ago.
She was a member of the Highland Park Senior Citizens.
Mrs. King dedicated her life to caring for family and children.
She and her husband, John, helped raise over 18 foster children as well as giving a home to countless nieces and nephews.
She never closed her door to anyone. She was an expert dressmaker, a good cook and an avid artist, working in oils.
Mrs. King is the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Casali Milea, the wife of the late John C. King, and sister of the late Angelina Migliori and Mary Reedy.
She is survived by her brother, Anthony Milea of Stewartsville, N.J. and her children; Gerard and Dr. Edwina King of Franklin Twp., N.J.; Mary Ellen and Dr. Edward Goracy of Glastonbury, Connecticut; Carolyn and Dr. Frank Lumia of Allentown, N.J.; Peg and Joseph Ehrhardt of Hamilton Sq., N.J.; Joseph and Mary Anne Malone of the Villages, Florida; and Sylvia and Steven Karlowski. She also has 16 grandchildren: Christine Poscich, John Goracy, Brian Goracy, Rebecca Materazzo, Jennifer Campbell, Jonathan King, Dr. Margaret E. Lumia, Joseph Lumia, Dr. Mary Beth Altier, Karen Shubert, Patricia Saddedine, William Miller, Joseph Malone, Celeste Trasky, and Roslyn and Stephen Karlowski; 20 great-grandchildren, a special niece and nephews, Marie Fingerhut and Thomas and Raymond Battaglia, her full-time caregiver, Zena, and a foster daughter, Dorothy Bennett of Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park followed by a 10:00 a.m.
Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.

ANNA CHOMKO
Born: May 28, 1928

Anna Chomko, age 84, of Woodbridge, died on April 11, 2013 at her home under hospice care.
Born in Jersey City on May 28, 1928 to Benjamin and Rose Shine, she graduated from High School in Jersey City.
She met and married her husband, Harry in 1951.
They moved to Fords in 1962 where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church.
Anna worked for Western Electric in Kearny and Clark from 1956 until her retirement in 1989.
She was a caring woman who helped her family in need starting with her grandmother, Carmella Cranga until her death in 1971.
Anna helped her family with whatever they needed: food, medicine, watching grandchildren as well as others who needed care.
Anna was an avid bowler who would sometimes be in three leagues in a week and who loved to go to tournaments, which took her to Las Vegas, Reno and Florida. She won numerous awards including gold, silver and bronze metals at the Garden State Games. Black Jack in Atlantic City, Vegas and Reno were other hobbies.
Her son, Harry Chomko spent the last seven years caring for Anna as the Alzheimer’s disease progressed.
Harry’s care and devotion enabled Anna to stay in her home.
They were still able to travel to bowling, daycare and softball until this February when her health seriously declined.
Anna was pre-deceased by her husband, Harry, who died in 1974.
Anna will be missed by her daughter, Nancy Schwartz and husband Sheelley and grand-daughters Heather and Ilyssa Schwartz of Highland Park, her daughter-in-law, Connie Chomko, grandsons Harry Chomko and his wife, Michelle of Fords, Christopher and his wife, Tanya of Aberdeen as well as great-granddaughter Avianna who was born on February 14th, and grand-dogs, Zoe, Skyy and Gable.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in Section #31 at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia.
Nancy will sit Shiva at 346 Graham Street, Highland Park (Annette and Gerry’s Home)on Monday and Tuesday from 2-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Embracing Hospice, Main Street, Cranbury, N.J. or to your favorite charity.

Ann B. Cipot
Born: August 26, 1929

Ann B. Cipot, age 83, of Highland Park, died Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway.
Born in New Brunswick, she graduated from St. Peter’s High School and has resided in Highland Park for most of her life.
Ann was a communicant at St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park (Transfiguration of the Lord Parish) where she also served as a Eucharistic minister.
In addition to being a busy mother raising eight children, she was the executive director of the Highland Park Senior Housing for approximately 20 years before her retirement.
Ann was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank Cipot Sr. in 1980 and her siblings, Thomas and Jack Barnwell, Mary Boisvert and Sally Young.
She is survived by her children; Frank Cipot Jr., Janet Naumann, Jack Cipot and his wife, Fran, Ann Donato and her husband, Sam, Fr. Ed Cipot, Peter Cipot and his wife, Karen, Joe Cipot, and Mary Olarra and her husband, Joseph, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a brother, Edwin Barnwell, a sister, Helen Tumulty, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home, 1421 River Road, Piscataway, N.J. 08854.

Janet Faleski
December 5, 1956 - April 24, 2013
Janet Faleski, age 56, of Sayreville, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge Division.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Janet lived for many years in Cathey’s Valley, California and returned to New Jersey moving to Edison where she lived before finally moving to Sayreville.
She was very active with 4-H while living in California and was a lover of the outdoors.
Most of all, Janet loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Janet was pre-deceased by her father, Richard Nawrocki.
She is survived by her loving children; Kimberly Perkins, Laura Kearns, and John Faleski, Jr., her adored grandchildren, Heaven Kearns, Angelisa Kearns, Brett Kearns, Jr. and soon to be arriving Grace Jane Kearns, and Matthew Ryan Perkins, her mother, Frances Nawrocki, a sister, Linda Hopkins, three nieces, Jennifer, Kristine, and Lisa, one nephew, Brian, and a lifelong friend, “Jim.”
Viewing hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
A funeral service will be held at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.

Judith Ann Szur
Born: December 4, 1943
Death: April 25, 2013
Judith Ann Szur, age 69, of Highland Park, died on April 25, 2013 at the JFK Hartwyck at Edison Estates.
Born in New Brunswick, she lived in Highland Park for many years.
She was a former communicant at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church in Highland Park.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Szur, two brothers, John Paul Szur, and Richard Davis, and a sister, Alexandra Kent.
Relatives and friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Avenue, Highland Park.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Paul the Apostle R.C. Church, Highland Park.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.

Monique Ortiz-Arndt
Born: March 17, 1963

Death: May 18, 2013
Place of Death: St. Peter's University Hospital, New Brunswick
The Beloved Wife of Raphael Montanez, Monique Ortiz-Arndt lost a six year battle with a metastasized breast cancer.
Monique passed away on Saturday, May 18th at 4:00 AM at Saint Peters Hospital Oncology Ward.
At her request, Monique’s remains have been cremated.
Following his wife Monique’s instruction Raphael has arranged a Celebration of Monique’s Life to be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 2nd at the Jaqui-Kuhn Funeral Home, 17 South Adelaide Ave, Highland Park, NJ.
A flower draped urn containing the Ashes of Monique’s remains will be present, as will a display of many photographs that speak to a celebration of her life.
Knowing she was dying, Monique’s hope was that her friends would be able to attend her celebration and say a few words in celebration of her.
Flowers are welcome. Our hope is that you will be able to attend.
We wish you the blessing of health and prosperity.

Boyd J. Reed died Saturday, September 13, 2008, at JFK Medical Center in Edison. He was 82.
Born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania he had lived in Levittown, PA before moving to New Brunswick over 50 years ago.
He was a chemical operator at Rhone-Poulenc in New Brunswick for over 30 years before retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Union.
Mr. Reed was a member of the First Baptist Church in Metuchen where he was very active in the music ministry.
He was a member of the New Brunswick Senior Citizens Center.
He had served as a corporal in the US Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis Reigle Reed; a daughter Jill A. Reed of New Brunswick; a son David E. Reed of New Brunswick; and a sister Gloria Landau of Edison.
Friends and relatives may call Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at Farrow Funeral Home, 6th and Chestnut Streets. Shamokin, PA.
Burial will follow in Blue Church Cemetery in Ralpho Township, PA.
Memorial contributions can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of New Jersey.
