William Jess Hill, age 61, of Barnsboro, went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2012.

Bill was born on August 24, 1951 in Woodbury, to William Joseph Hill and Grace D’Amico Hill.

He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972.

He was a member and past commander of the Lawson-Cox VFW Post 7679 in Mantua.

For three decades he was a Local 19 Union sheet metal worker.

Bill’s greatest passions were his family and racing.

A second-generation dirt-track racecar driver, Bill started his racing career at the age of three driving quarter-midgets with his dad.

In 1973, he began to race stock cars at Bridgeport Speedway, where he would spend his summer Saturday nights for the next 40 years.

Ten years ago he founded Hill Motorsports so that he could help support and foster his sons’ love of racing.

Nothing brought more joy to Bill than seeing his sons successfully carry on the Hill racing legacy.

Bill never met a person that he didn’t know.

He had a sharp wit and a biting tongue, but he had a huge and loving heart.

He was a fighter who never backed down from a battle.

He is survived by his mother, Grace D’Amico Hill; children: Alison Strother, Jesse Hill (spouse-to-be Brittany Lehman) and Travis Hill; grandchildren: Pierce Strother, Tyler Gruber and Thomas Blossom; fiancée Jane Blossom and her children: Rick Blossom and Kate Blossom.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 29 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main Street, Mantua Township at 3pm.

The family will be accepting visitors from 1pm to 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the following charities: Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org), Fox Chase Cancer Center (www.fccc.edu/) or the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).

Alfred Tomarchio, age 90 of Mullica Hill, NJ passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at home. Alfred was a hard working farmer his entire life. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Josephine (nee Grasso) of 63 years, his five children, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 6-8 PM Friday, December 28 and 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, December 29 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ at 11 AM. Entombment will be in Eglington Mausoleum, Clarksboro, NJ. Alice L. Callahan (nee Pollock), age 88 of Woodbury, NJ died Monday, December 24, 2012. Mrs. Callahan was born in Camden and had been a resident of West Deptford Township since 1966. A former resident of Haddon Heights, she had been active with the Brownies and Girl Scouts. Wife of the late Jesse Carl Callahan, she is survived by one daughter Alice Clancy, one son Steven Callahan, 3 grandchildren Shannon, Michael, Cody, a great grandchild Alex, and her life long friend, Doris Morris-Smith. Arrangements will be private at the convenience of the family.

Anna M. Todd (nee Germanovich), age 81 of Mantua, NJ died Friday, December 14, 2012. A member of the Church of the Incarnation, she found enjoyment in cooking, baking and sewing for her family. She also looked forward to trips to the casinos.
Wife of the late William Todd, she is survived by her children: Deborah (Fred) Maccarella, Donna (Ron) Curcio, William (Kelly) Todd and Denise Todd (Don Seehousz) and her grandchildren: Ashley, Lindsay, Billy and Kayla.

Dorothy Mae Motisher who has resided in Pitman Manor for the past ten years went home to be with the Lord on 12-24-2012. She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Sara Beck of Ferrum, VA, Mrs. Mary Thompson (Robert) of Pittsgrove, NJ and Mrs. June Steinberg of The Terraces at Parke Place. She also has many nieces and nephews. Dot was born in Pitman, and lived for all but her first five years in Sewell, NJ until the past ten years. She was a graduate of Pitman High school, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi (a non- academic sorority). Dot retired after 43 years with Rohm and Haas Company in Philadelphia, PA and thoroughly enjoyed retirement. She loved the outdoors, traveling, her dogs, reading and of course her friends, as well as loving life. Sierocinski, Jr. and his wife Susie of Sewell, Karen Hill-Haines and her husband Charles of Williamstown, Doug Downs and his wife Vanise of MN, Carolyn (Hill) Olsen and her husband Art Jr. of Mantua & Mary Lou Hardwick and her husband Duane of NM; great grandchildren: Jeannette Russell, Brian Russell, Douglas Downs, Jr., Arthur Olsen III, Andrew Olsen & Matthew Hardwick and great great grandson: Trevor Russell and her brother Bud Ternay of Elmer. Susan moved to Alaska nearly 20 years ago to experience the outdoors and nature. In her spare time, she also enjoyed reading, poetry, music, cooking, gardening, and technology. Susan is survived by her three sons, Joseph “Danny” Chropka of Indianapolis, IN, Michael Chropka and his wife Kelly of Woolwich Twp., NJ, David Chropka and his partner Jason of Indianapolis, IN, her two grandchildren, Grace and Joey Chropka, and four brothers & sisters. Susan is also survived by her companion Daniel Gilman. Beideman, Sr., she is survived by daughters: Linda and Robert Murry, Deborah and Frank Krupica, Jr. both of Sewell, Robin and Bradford St. Pierre of Bradenton, FL, son: Robert K. Beideman, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren: Christian (& Stephanie) Swanson, David (& Amy) Swanson, Frank ( & Michelle) Krupica, III, Michelle (& Bobby) Ledden, Jennnifer (& Alix) DuPoux, Bradford (& Marianna) St. Pierre, Jr.; 14 great grandchildren; sister: Patricia Rudder and she was also predeceased by sister, Vera Havers and brother, James Padgett.

Thomas G. Pierce age 73, suddenly on Thursday April 10th, 2014 at Crozier Medical Center. Tom was employed with Philadelphia Inquirer for 42 years. He had been active with the Knights of Columbus and loved going fishing. He is husband of Martha M. (nee Newhall) Pierce, also survived son Thomas Pierce, Jr. and daughter Tracy Ann (Dan) Bowers, 3 grandchildren: Annamarie, Danny, Jr., & Aaron, sisters: Viola Stone, Charlotte Lipsett, brothers Kenneth (Carol) Pierce, Henry Pierce, brother-in-law: Arthur Newhall (Nanci), sister-in-law: Helen Tymusczuk.

Charles Rishel
Charles "Harold" Rishel, Sr., 85 of Sewell, died Thursday, September 5, 2013. Born in Sharptown, NJ,. He grew up on a peach farm in Aura, and served in the Army during the Korean War. A resident of Sewell since 1959, Harold worked for Bell Telephone/Verizon for thirty years, retiring in 1988. A Life member of Sewell Fire and Ambulance, he served from 1961 to 2011 and many years as Captain. Harold was a former Cubmaster of Pack 223 in Sewell, he enjoyed gardening, raising chickens and fish. The Dallas Cowboys have lost a devoted fan! Husband for 60 years of Clara M. (nee Amand), he is also survived by 5 children: Charles H. Jr (Jean), Ronald (Penny), Robert (Pat), Douglas (Lisa), Theresa Gondolf (Frank), as well as 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a sister, Leora Rishel. He was predeceased by his parents Edna And Charles Rishel, daughter Barbara, brother Norman, and sister-in-law Josie. Benjamin Fox
Benjamin T. Fox age 14 of West Deptford, NJ passed away suddenly on Thursday June 26th, 2014. Born in Red Bank, NJ he was a freshman at West Deptford High School. He ran cross country, enjoyed skate boarding, swimming, CGI (Computer Graphics), and playing Xbox online. Benjamin was always able to make his family and friends laugh.
He is survived by his mother, Nicole Galanti and her husband Richard, his father, Gregory Fox and his wife Joy, sisters, Julianna & Haylee Fox, his brother Cole Galanti, his grandparents, Jackie Smith & Mike Harper, Alan & Lynn Rattiner, Rex & Carmen Fox, great grandmother Miriam Fox, and step grandparents Marion & Albert Galanti.

Doris Trujillo
Doris “Honey” B. Trujillo, age 84, of Henderson, NV passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Evanston Regional Hospital, Evanston, WY. A long time resident of Sewell, NJ, most of her time was devoted to raising her family. She traveled with her husband as he served in the U.S. Army and later worked at the Deptford Skating Center before she retired and moved to NV. Her two passions in life were roller skating and bowling. In 1981 she had the privilege of competing in the 1981 U.S. Amateur Roller Skating Championship in figure skating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N. Trujillo. She is survived by her children, Norma McAndrews of Henderson, NV; Stephen Trujillo of Sicklerville, NJ; Elaine Mazzo of North Chesterfield, VA; Seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a brother, Loren Bartley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the interment at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial cemetery, in Monroe Township, NJ on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11 AM. Contributions in Doris’s memory may be made to the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute, 888 W. Bonneville Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89106 .

William Z. Schickel age 24, of West Deptford on Monday, September 22, 2014. Bill was a graduate of West Deptford High School Class of 2008 and enjoyed fishing & baseball.
He is survived by his parents, William H. & Shirley Schickel, grandparents William L. & Fran Schickel, grandparents Shirley & Jim Beck, great grandmother Dorothy McCormick, brothers Ian Nachman, Justin Schickel, and his niece Jayden Nachman.

George Wescott
George J. Wescott age 80, of Sewell passed away peacefully Saturday, October 4, 2014. George had been a teacher in the Automotive Shop of Edgewood High School for 21 years before retiring. He was presently working for the Phillies. George enjoyed golfing, traveling, and skiiing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mantua, and an active volunteer.
George is survived his wife Nancy J. (Miller) Wescott, son George James Wescott (Debra),
daughter Sheryl Wescott (Ann), daughter Jody Miller (Greg), 5 grandchildren Amy Hoffman (Chris),
George J. Jr. (Sarah), Emily Wescott, Aaron and Hope Miller, 5 great grandchildren Olivia, Alexis, Taylor, Christopher Jr., Harleigh, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Terry Wescott, sisters Zora and Marguerite, brothers Evan Jr. and Walter. Family and friends are invited to visit from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday Oct. 7th and 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday, Oct. 8th, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.
