Sam F. Imburgia, 91, of Port Orange, Fla., died September 12, 2008, at Halifax Medical Center.
Born in Monesson, Pa., Mr. Imburgia worked for the Philadelphia Naval Air Engineering Center and retired in 1976. He was a longtime resident of Collings Lakes where he served as the President for both the Catholic Club and the Civic Association. He was also instrumental in starting the Roman Catholic Mission in Collings Lakes which was an extension of St. Mary’s. He was a Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Cape May and the Senior Education Officer of the Flotilla Squadron 44 in Daytona Beach, Fla., until 2007. He recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteering over the past 23 years. His hobbies included crossword puzzles, ham radios, and civil war enthusiast.
Predeceased by: wife, Eileen; son, Jeffery; grandchildren, Christopher Greene, Kristine Graham. Surviving him are: son, Thomas of Port Orange, Fla.; daughter, Carolyn Greene of southern New Jersey; brother, Ignatius of Bloomingdale, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on September 19 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Greenmount cemetery.

Carmen "Chick" Camorata, 86, of Spring Hill, Fla., died September 8, 2008, at Oak Hill Hospital.
Born in Elm, he retired to Florida in 1991. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of Fire Co. #1 for over 40 years. He held the office of Lieutenant for eight years. He was Captain of the Hammonton Rescue Squad for two years and a Lieutenant on the Squad for six years. He was a member of the Atlantic County Ambulance Association for 15 years and the Atlantic County Mobilization Team for five years. He belonged to the New Jersey State First Aid Council where he was a trustee for two years. He carried cards for “extrication and heavy rescue” for the seventh district of the New Jersey State First Aid Council. His hobbies were playing poker and knock rummy. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving him are: loving wife, Gladys Camorata of Spring Hill; daughter, Darlene Camorato of Hammonton; sisters, Catherine O’Toole of Readville, Mass, Rose Camorato of Hammonton, Francis Maiuro of Douglisville, Ga.; step sons, Skip Conover and his wife Pat, Jimmy and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Sharon Rubbo and her husband Anthony of Philadelphia, Jeanine Weiner and her husband Brian of New Jersey, Kim Zeller and her husband Sean of Spring Hill, Lori Wise of Pompano, James Conover Jr., Sean Conover both of Florida.
Relatives and friends attended a graveside service with full military honors on September 15, at Florida National cemetery.

Adelaide L. Swede (nee Larson), 85, of Hammonton, died September 20, 2008, at Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she worked at Prospect Heights Hospital from 1940 – 1943 and attended St. Jon’s University from 1948 – 1951. She served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corp 114th General Hospital during World War II from 1944 – 1945. She was a member of the Hammonton American Legion F.A. Funston Post. She was a retired nurse for Greenbriar Nursing Home and Ancora State Hospital.
Predeceased by: husband, Leonard; daughter, Laura Johnson. Surviving her are: three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on September 23 at Grace Community Church in Waterford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Robert LaSasso, 62, of Hammonton, died October 29, 2008, at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Hammonton, he was a resident of Hammonton and spent the last eight years in Elm. ROLLO retired as the owner/operator of Rising Son Construction.
Predeceased by: parents, Frank and Mary LaSasso; sisters, Marion LaSasso, Diane Aragona. Surviving him are: son, Robert “Little Bobby” LaSasso; daughter, Eva Figueroa; brothers, Frank Jr. and his wife Betty, Joseph and his wife Barbara, Richard and his wife Karen; sisters, Rose Scaffidi and her husband John, Linda Passaretti and her husband David; seven grandchildren; eternal soul mate, Marlene Iannaco; many loving nieces, nephews and friends. ROLLO as he was known by all touched their lives and made everyone smile and laugh.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on November 1 at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial was private.

Rose R. DiGiuseppe, 103, of Cloverdale, Va. and formerly of Hammonton, died October 27, 2008, at her nephew’s residence.
Born in Brooklyn, she arrived in Hammonton in 1917. She was employed for W.B. Kessler Clothing Company for 50 years as a machine operator retiring in 1962.
Predeceased by: husband, Alex DiGiuseppe. Surviving her are: nephews, Joseph Cirillo and his wife Michelle, Anthony Cirillo and his wife Jane, Ray DiGiuseppe; nieces, Roseann Sweeney and her husband Arthur, Carol Anne Cirillo; sister-in-law, Theresa Cirillo; many loving great-nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on October 31 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by entombment at Greenmount cemetery.
Donations may be made to Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Beatrice R. DeStefano (nee Grasso), 90, of Elm, died November 1, 2008, at home.
Born in Summit, N.J., she was a lifelong resident of Elm. Mrs. DeStefano was a floor person at Kessler Clothing Shop in Hammonton. She also formerly owned and operated B & M Snack Bar in Elm.
Predeceased by: husband, Orlando DeStefano. Surviving her are: brother, James Grasso of Franklinville; sisters, Rita Tomasso of Chatham, N.J., Jean Camerota of Glen Mills, Pa.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services today at 11 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home where a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove cemetery.

Wilma I. Morse, 80, of Estell Manor and formerly of Hammonton died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Atlantic Care, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Platte, S.D., she grew up in New Castle, Wyo. and moved to New Jersey in 1957. Wilma retired after 30 years from Whitehall Laboratories in 1989. She belonged to the Hammonton Senior Citizens Club and American Legion of Hammonton. Wilma will be sadly missed by many for her kind acts and compassion. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary of a friend or family member. Her love for her family and friends was deep and strong.
Predeceased by: husband, Leo Morse; parents, Joe and Mary Petty; brothers, Floyd, Lyle, Donald, Sid and sister Leigh. Surviving her are: daughters, Cheryl Stager and her husband Richard of Verga, N.J., Mary Fifer and her husband Rick of Estell Manor with whom she lived, Alice Fatzinger and her husband Thyrone of Everette, Wash.; brother, Darrell Petty and his wife Jean of Thermopolis, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Hazel Baker of Upton, Wyo.; grandchildren, Rick Fifer and his wife Tracy, Bill Fifer and his wife Marean, Valerie Springer, Michelle Clayton and her husband Chris; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; constant companion of 34 years, Virgil Sacco.
Relatives and friends attended a celebration of Wilma’s life on Friday, March 13 with services at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Wilma’s memory to Atlantic City Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 5358, Atlantic City, NJ 08401 or St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Matilda C. Capella (nee Coia), 91, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Innova Health Center.
Born in Philadelphia, she was a lifelong Hammonton resident. Before retiring, Mrs. Capella worked as a bookkeeper for Coia Brothers Inc. in Hammonton. She was a volunteer for Deborah Hospital and she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church.
Predeceased by: husband, William T. Capella. Surviving her are: sisters, Marie DeLaurentis and her husband Vincent, Elizabeth LoCicero and her husband Anthony; sister-in-law Marion Coia all of Hammonton; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 16, at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Frances Palmieri, 81, of Hammonton, died Sunday, July 19, 2009.
Born in Hammonton, she was a resident her entire life. Frances worked as a seamstress for WB Kessler Clothing and as a salesperson for New York City Shoes.
Predeceased by: son, Michael Palmieri; parents, Michael and Geraldine Palmieri; sister, Mary Staino. Surviving her are: brothers, Michael Palmieri of Hammonton, Salvatore Palmieri of Hammonton, Edward Palmieri of The Villages, Fla.; sister, Dolores Falciano of Mullica Township; aunt of Patricia Andersen, Anthony Staino, Robert Palmieri, Dina Frederick, Debra Cottone, John Falciano, Donna Efstatos; many loving great-nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, July 27, at St. Joseph R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove cemetery.
