Donald J. Volpe MD, 59, of Hammonton, died suddenly on Sunday, July 21, 2013.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a resident of Hammonton. He was a graduate of St. Augustine Prep High School and received his bachelor of science from Fordham University. He received his doctorate of medicine from Hannemann Medical School. He completed his residency at Cooper Hospital. Donald enjoyed surfing, the beach, playing his guitar, reading, music and trains.
Predeceased by: parents, Donald J. and Teckla (nee Campanella). Surviving him are: loving wife, Vickie (nee Treen); children, Donald J. III and his wife Kelly, Clare Weygand and her husband Sean; stepdaughters, Donelle, Dina Butcher; brother of Teckla Volpe, Cynthia Benedetto and her husband Sal; nephews, Matthew, Michael, John Benedetto.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing today, July 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 25, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home followed by a celebration service of his life at 11 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Sadie M. Fucetola (nee Jacobs), 98, of Hammonton, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at home.
Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Fucetola was a member of St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church and the Hammonton Senior Citizens. She was an avid fan and supporter of the Williamstown High School and Hammonton High School football teams. She enjoyed playing pinochle and spending time with and cooking for her family and friends especially Sunday and holiday dinners.
Predeceased by: husband, Rocky Fucetola; granddaughter, Leigh Anne Fucetola; parents, Frank and Mary Jacobs; brothers, Peter Jacobs, Salvatore Jacobs, Anthony Jacobs, Carmen Jacobs. Surviving her are: children, Rocco J. Fucetola and his wife Diane, Marie Fucetola, Frank Fucetola and his fiancée Diane; sister, Grace Domenico all of Hammonton; grandchildren, Rocco J. Fucetola Jr. and his wife Katherine of Blue Anchor, Frank Fucetola Jr. and his wife Stacie of Hammonton, Christopher Fucetola of Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Justin, Kelsie, Rocco, Claira, Kayla, Gabriel.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 20, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Martin DePorres followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Lamar M. Ortiz, 20, of Atco, died Monday, July 15, 2013.
Lamar served in the United States Army and was stationed in Afghanistan.
Surviving him are: parents, Victor (Andrea) Ortiz and Erin (Kelly Jackson) Wingenroth; brother of Samantha, Calvin, Janice Ortiz; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins.
Relatives and friends attended a funeral service on Saturday, July 20, at the LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment to be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lamar Ortiz Memorial Scholarship, 566 Old Forks Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Peter A. Sparta, 47, of Hammonton, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly.
Born in Camden, he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. He was a 1984 graduate of Hammonton High School. Pete enjoyed playing pool and he was a member of the A.P.A. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was the owner of The Chicken Store in South Philadelphia for many years.
Predeceased by: mother, Josephine C. Sparta; sister, Annette Carrelli. Surviving him are: wife, Jan Sparta; children, Rachael Sparta, Peter A. Sparta II, Robert Sparta; father, Peter Sparta all of Hammonton; granddaughter, Aryanna Sparta; nieces, Holly Ann Carrelli, Allison Carrelli; great-niece, Giavanna Currington.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 23, at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Martin DePorres followed by burial at Greenmount cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015.

Darrell Sliwecki (nee Warner), 73, of Hammonton, died suddenly on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Hammonton in 1969. She was the Sec./Tres. of E & E Meats, her family business with her husband and two sons. Darrell also worked at the Central Café for many years.
Predeceased by: husband, Edward J. Sliwecki Jr.; sons, Edward B. Sliwecki, Randall R. Sliwecki Sr.; parents, George and Florence Warner. Surviving her are: daughter, Wendy Esposito (Donald) of Hammonton; sister, Audrey Milewski (Ed) of Hammonton; brother, George Warner (Patricia) of Winter Haven, Fla.; daughters-in-law, Terri, Kim Sliwecki; grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler Esposito, Randall Sliwecki Jr., Todd Sliwecki; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a funeral service on Friday, July 19, at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Chester F. Peters, 83, of Shamong, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Voorhees Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Camden, he was a resident of Shamong for 34 years. Mr. Peters was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an insurance agent with State Farm Insurance for over 38 years.
Predeceased by: daughter, Linda Godwin. Surviving him are: loving wife, Shirley M. Peters (nee Muller); daughter, Diana Peters and Lee MacKnight; son, Kenneth Peters and his wife Alice; stepson, Frank Schmidt and his wife Cathy; beloved grandchildren, Samantha Schmidt, Zachary Schmidt.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Anthony of Padua. Burial will be private.

George A. Barbetto, 63, of Hammonton, died suddenly on September 7, 2013.
George was born and raised in Egg Harbor City and was a graduate of LaSalle University with a degree in Accounting. Post-college he served as a volunteer with VISTA in Pittsburg, PA helping low-income families. Upon his return to the area he began working for Capaldi, Schalick & Reynolds Certified Public Accounting Firm in Atlantic City where he obtained his CPA license and later became a partner with the firm. He then went on to become the Chief Financial Officer of Matlack Leasing in Philadelphia from where he then retired. In his retirement he enjoyed gardening, cooking and joy riding in his yellow corvette.
He is predeceased by his parents, Florence Shellhorn Barbetto and George C. Barbetto of Egg Harbor City. George is survived by his wife, Nancy Campbell Barbetto and his 3 children, Michelle Fischl and her husband Louis of Ewing, NJ, Christy (Michael) and George of Hammonton. Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday September 11, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish – St. Martin Church Park Ave. & S. Egg Harbor Rd. Hammonton, NJ. Burial will be in Egg Harbor City cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the American Heart Association 1 Union St. Suite 301 Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or the Alzheimer’s Association South Jersey Regional Office 3 Eves Dr. Suite 310 Marlton, NJ 08053.

Hollie Leak, age 77, of Hammonton and formerly of Winslow Twp. died peacefully at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly on August 28, 2013. Born in Charlotte, NC, he lived in the South Jersey area for many years.
Surviving him is his son Hollie Leak.
Services were held on Thursday September 5, 2013 at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. 3rd St. Hammonton, NJ. Burial followed at Greenmount cemetery 124 S. First Road Hammonton, NJ.

Patrick Clark IV, 36, of San Antonio, Tex. and formerly of Sicklerville died Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Born in Washington Twp., he moved to Texas two years ago. He formerly worked in the Shipping/Receiving department at Patriot Windows in Hammonton.
Patrick was predeceased by his brother Jermaine Williams. He is survived by his wife LaShunda Clark; his children, Ziaire Patrick Clark, Laila Grace Clark all of San Antonio; his mother, Ingrid Williams of Delaware; his father, Patrick Clark III of San Antonio; his sister Takia Nicole Williams of Delaware; his maternal grandmother, Fannie Miller of Hammonton; his nephew, Joseph Salvatore Williams; his Godmother Doris Burrell and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at True Praise Ministry Church, 10 Front St., Hammonton. Burial followed in Oak Grove cemetery in Hammonton.

Sylvia M. Winters (nee Reynolds), 77 of Maple Shade and formerly of Hammonton, died on December 17, 2013.
She was born in Hammonton on August 14, 1936 to her parents Joseph and Martha Reynolds. She was a longtime resident of Hammonton and of Collingswood. She was a graduate of Hammonton High School. Mrs. Winters worked for the U.S. Government Department of Civil Service in Philadelphia prior to retiring.
She is survived by four sisters, Rosalie Henderson of Hammonton, Claire Warrick of Maryland, Genevieve Higgs of Berlin, and Patricia Diaz of Hammonton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were private at the convenience of the family.

Joseph A. Sacco, 70, of Hammonton, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on December l8, 2013 with his loving family at his side.
Born in Hammonton, he was a graduate of Hammonton High School and earned both bachelors and masters degrees in music education and conducting at Glassboro State College. He spent his entire teaching career in the Hammonton schools, first as an instrumental music teacher, and later as an administrator, retiring as Director of State and Federal Programs. He was an accomplished musician and was well-known in the area, performing on the saxophone and clarinet with various groups in the Atlantic City casinos and area restaurants as well as individually as “Sax Appeal.” He was also a featured performer on many recordings, and earned many honors for his musical prowess throughout his career. As a musician, he was asked by the town of Hammonton to organize a band for the bicentennial in 1974. The 65-member group of local and area musicians that resulted became the exceptional Bicentennial Band which played many concerts in the town and throughout South Jersey from l975 through 1980. As its conductor and organizer, he received many awards for his service. He was also chosen to be one of a seven-piece band formed as an “Ambassador Exchange Group” from the United States which toured Italy, playing concerts throughout the country. He was also the saxophonist for the select Atlantic City Jazz Band. As an educator, he formed the first elementary/middle school band in the Hammonton school system as well as the first elementary/middle school jazz band. As an administrator, he established the in-district preschool handicapped programs, the PRIDE program, organized and implemented the district’s first state-of-the-art, interactive computer lab, and founded the school-aged child care program. In this capacity he was chosen as the recipient of the prestigious Leadership Award presented at the National Federal Program Administrators Conference in Washington, D.C.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Helen Sacco and his brother, Paul Sacco Jr. He is survived by his children, Paul J. and Lisa; his sister and brother-in-law, Rose Marie and Frank Reid; and his fiancee, Lana Alliano, all of Hammonton.
Friends and relatives attended a visitation and services on Saturday, December 28 at Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St., Hammonton. Entombment followed at Greenmount cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations to either the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, or to the National M.S. Society, Delaware Valley Chapter 30 South 17th St. Suite 800 Philadelphia, PA 19103.
