He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, a former member of the Marine Corps League Gooney Birds, New Milford, and a volunteer with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. He also was a licensed real estate and travel agent. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3616 and American Legion Post 97, both in Wood-Ridge, and the Navy SeaBee Veterans of America. He was a former parishioner of Assumption R.C. Church, Wood-Ridge. He was a member of the Wood-Ridge Historical Society and a member and past president of the Carlstadt Historical Society. He served as Carlstadt borough historian. He was founder of the Carlstadt Fire House Museum and was a former Cub Scout leader. Arrangements: Kimak Funeral Home, Carlstadt.
