Before retiring in 1985, he was an operating engineer for 35 years and a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6467, Bergenfield, and the Marine Corps League 9th Battalion Gooney Bird Detachment, New Milford. He had been a scout for the New York Mets, played baseball for the Tenafly Mets and Bergenfield All Stars and was a member of the Bergen County Hall of Fame. Arrangements: Frech Funeral Home, Dumont.
