Judith Ann Hawie Hemion,, of Point Pleasant Beach, died Saturday, at home.

She was 64 years old.

She was the vice president of AquaField Publications, Tinton Falls, for 10 years, retiring in 1990.

She volunteered at St. Gregoryıs Pantry, Point Pleasant Beach, and was a former member of the Seaweeders Garden Club and the Mantoloking Planning Board.

She graduated from Rosemary Hall, Greenwich, Conn., in 1956 and Centenary College, Hackettstown, in 1958.

Upon completion of college, she worked at ABC News and became an executive secretary there in the television network program department in New York City.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Thanksgiving Day, 1938, she moved with her husband to Mantoloking in 1969 and then to Point Pleasant Beach 10 years ago.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Malcolm Hemion; a son, Eric Hemion of Point Pleasant Beach; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Sally Hawie of St. Simons Island, Ga.; a nephew, John Hawie of Farmington, Conn.; a niece, Robin Yearns of Smyrna, Ga.; and a lifelong friend, Judy West of Point Pleasant.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Bay and Forman avenues, Point Pleasant Beach. A reception will follow in the Church Annex.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Hospice, 615 Hope Road, Building 4, Second Floor, Eatontown, NJ 07724 or St. Gregory's Pantry, Bay and Atlantic avenues, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.

Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, Point Pleasant Beach, is handling arrangements.

Jeanne B. Frank Dawson, of Brick, who has family in Point Pleasant Beach, died Saturday, at Jersey Shore Medical Center.

She was 76 years old.

She was the purchasing manager for American Flange Corp., Linden, for 16 years, retiring in 1990. She previously worked as a purchasing manager for Volupte Corp, Linden, for several years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Point Pleasant Elks 1698; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clark American Legion; and Deborah, Trade Winds Association and its bowling league.

She was an avid bowler and captain of the Jersey Lanes Cocktail Lounge, Linden. While living in Linden, she served in the Vestry and Woman's Guild of Grace Episcopal Church. She was also a member of St. Maryıs by the Sea Episcopal Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

She was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born in Elizabeth, she lived in Roselle and Linden before moving to Brick in 1992.

She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Kegreiss, in 1977.

Surviving are her husband, H. Lee Dawson; a son, Dru Eric Kegreiss of Point Pleasant Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Alyce and Kenneth Amberg of Jackson; a sister, Marie Morton of Largo, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Dru Eric Kegreiss Jr., and Susan, Nicholas and Stacy Amberg.

Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick, is handling the arrangements.

Donations in her memory can be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Browns Mills, Trade Winds Association.

Mildred Nostrame Giorgio, of Point Pleasant Beach, died last Thursday, at Brick Hospital.

She was 89 years old.

She was a homemaker.

Born and raised in Jersey City, she lived in Hackensack before moving to Point Pleasant Beach 35 years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 1985.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Nagy of Point Pleasant Beach; two grandsons, Michael and Christopher Nagy; and several nieces and nephews.

OıBrien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick, is handling the arrangements.

James E. Mc Carron, of Brick, who has family in Point Pleasant, died last Thursday, at Meridian Hospice and Rehabilitation, Brick.

He was 59 years old.

He was a police officer for the Elizabeth Police Department for 30 years, rose to the rank of detective with 25 commendations and retired in 1995.

He served in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1862, Elizabeth, and the American Legion Post 348, Brick.

He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore, the Nuggent Association, Elizabeth, the Union County Emerald Society, the Ancient Order of the Hibernians of Elizabeth, the Elks Lodge of Brick, and the Riviera Beach and Boat Club, Brick. He was also a trustee of the Elizabeth Police Athletic League and received the Freddy Erxleben Award for outstanding community service.

Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Brick for 15 years.

Surviving are his wife, Madelyn; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Ann of Chatham; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Charles Urbanowicz of Edison, Danielle and Jim Malone of Point Pleasant, and Michelle and Art Hutterman of Toms River; three brothers, Joseph of Stroudsburg, Pa., and Michael and Sean, both of California; three sisters, Eileen McCarron, Mary Beth McCarron of New York, and Bridget Poolt of Maryland; five grandchildren, Emma and Lindsey Urbanowicz, Mackenzie and Sydney Hutterman, and James E. McCarron VIII; his mother, Rita Hunter McCarron of Metuchen; several nieces and nephews; and his in-laws, Mary Ann and Dan Sinnott, Ruth Ann Lindnel, and Megs and Charlie Lukeman.

Leonard Home for Funerals, 242 W. Jersey St., Elizabeth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Gertrude OıBrien, of Brick, who has familly in Point Pleasant, died last Thursday, at home.

She was 85 years old.

She worked in the accounting department of Thomas & Betts for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Elizabeth, serving on the church council until she moved to Brick where she became a parishioner of St. Dominicıs Church. She was a member of St. Dominicıs Rosary Altar Society and Court St. Peterıs, Catholic Daughters of America, Point Pleasant.

She was an avid baker and loved to travel, but the most important thing in her life was her family, including her many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

Born in Newark, she lived in Elizabeth most of her life before moving to Brick in 1982.

She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1983; a daughter, Maureen Sharo, in 1978; and a son, John Jr., in 1988.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Marchetti, with whom she lived; a brother, Raymond Smith of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; five grandchildren, Cheryl Munroe of Toms River, Harry Durkin Jr. of Point Pleasant, Alexina Tindall of Port St. Lucie, Fla., John Durkin of Brick, and Dr. Ronald Sharo of Montville; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; six stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Weatherhead Young Funeral Home, 885 Mantoloking Road, Brick, is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to Meridian Hospice, whose wonderful people helped her family to care for her.

Robert W. Blewett, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, at home.

He was 68 years old.

He first worked in Linden and was self-employed as a demolition and house wrecker. Then with his brother John, he started Blewetts Scrap Co., Howell, in 1953. After many years, he started Neptune Scrap Co. and eventually worked for Texaco as a regional maintenance man until his retirement six years ago.

He was a member of St. Martha's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant.

Born in South Amboy, he lived in Linden and Farmingdale before moving to Point Pleasant 33 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann DeRose Blewett; three stepsons, Dominick Zambuto of Clark, Michael Zambuto of Leonardo, Middletown, and Joseph Zambuto of Point Pleasant; a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Kirkpatrick of Brick; two brothers, John Blewett of Howell, and Charles Blewett of Brick; and 11 grandchildren.

Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick, is in charge of the arrangements.

A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Marthaıs Church, Point Pleasant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery, Toms River.

Paul D. Proft, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday in his home.

He was 82 years old.

He retired 17 years ago after 27 years as a shipping clerk with Stonehedge in Cedar Grove.

Born in Minnesota 17 years ago, he was a World War II Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. California during the attack on Pearl Harbor and also was on the Normandy Invasion.

He is survived by his wife Roberta, two sons, Gary of Oakhurts and Paul of Spring Hope, North Carolina, one sister, Bernice Carey, of California and three grandchildren.

Pable Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements. Services will be private.

Virginia S. Dundon

Belmar resident Virginia S. Dundon died Friday, April 4 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

Born in Austria, Hungary, Mrs. Dundon came to the United States in 1923 and settled in Bayonne before moving to Belmar in 1957.

She was a homemaker and was the owner/proprietor of the Tree Tops Guest House, Belmar.

She was a communicant of St. Rose Church, Belmar, and was a member of the parish Altar Rosary Society.

She was a member of the Jerry Lynch Association, Belmar.

She was predeceased in 1988 by her husband, George T. Dundon, and by her brother, William Nesnay, and two sisters, Irene LaPilusa and Olga Fedak.

Surviving are four daughters, Georgianna Dundon, Belmar, Maryanna Dundon-Nameth, and Julianna Harmer, both of Brick Township, and Adrianna Dundon, Neptune; two brothers, John Nesnay, Bayonne, and Robert Nesnay, Spring Lake; and two grandchildren, Mark and Ashley Harmer.

Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township.

Contributions in Mrs. Dundon's memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 1600 US Hwy 22, Union, 07083.

Edith L. Carpenter

West Belmar, Wall Township resident Edith L. Carpenter died Sunday, March 23 at the MediCenter, Neptune City.

She was 79 years old.

Born in Millinocket, Maine, Mrs. Carpenter moved to Wall in 1963.

She was employed as a clerical worker with the federal government at Camp Evans, Wall.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching college and professional basketball games.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, George and Linda Carpenter, LaGrange, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Harry Vandenbos, Avon-By-The-Sea; three granddaughters, Diane Drake, Serenity and Chelsea Carpenter; and one great-granddaughter, Gracie Graham.

Funeral arrangements were from the Johnson-McGinley Funeral Home, Wall.

Contributions in Mrs. Carpenter's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 801 Broad St., Shrewsbury, 07702.

Laura M. Bennett

Wall Township resident Laura M. Bennett died Wednesday, April 2 in her home.

She was 72 years old.

Mrs. Bennett was a lifelong resident of Wall.

She was predeceased in 1994 by her husband, Earl Rutherford. Surviving are two sons, Larry Bennett, Wall, and William Rutherford, Belmar; and one sister, Virginia Bennett.

Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.
