Frank T. Flynn

Spring Lake Heights resident Frank T. Flynn died Tuesday, Dec. 3 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

He was 45 years old.

Born in Newark, Mr. Flynn lived in Harrison before moving to Spring Lake Heights in 1986.

He was employed with Wyckham Manor Condo Association, Spring Lake Heights.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved the Rolling Stones.

He was predeceased by his father, Frank T. Flynn Sr.

Surviving are his mother, Eleanor Flynn; two sisters, Pam DiSalvo, Spring Lake Heights, and Nancy Godlesky, Howell Township; six nieces and nephews, Geoffrey, Kelly, Brian, Gina, Allison, and Kyle; and three aunts, Stella, Lottie, and Irene.

Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.

Mary M. Arillo

Wall Township resident Mary M. Arillo died Friday, Dec. 6 in her home.

She was 73 years old.

Born in Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Arillo lived in New York City and Weehawken before moving to the Allenwood section of Wall, 45 years ago.

She earn a bachelor's degree in art history from Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., Class of 1952.

She was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Denis Church, Manasquan.

She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband, Michael.

Surviving are three sons, Mickey, Wall, Marc, Brick Township, and James, Manasquan; one daughter, Marguerite Moroski, Cliffwood Beach; one sister, Ann Mullen, New York City; and five grandchildren, James, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Chelsea, and Sydney.

Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Contributions in Mrs. Arillo's memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson Foundation, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.

Fred T. Williams

Spring Lake resident Fred T. Williams died Wednesday, Dec. 4 in the Medi Center, Neptune City.

He was 79 years old.

Born in Newark, Fred was raised in Verona before moving to the Shore area. He's resided in Spring Lake for the last 34 years.

He attended St. Benedict's Prep School.

He was the founder and director of Camp Cayuga, Honesdale, Pa., a coed summer camp for children. Previously he was a lifeguard.

He was a communicant of St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake.

He was a Lions Club member, a Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, and a member of the Spring Lake American Legion Post No. 432.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Eileen P. Williams; 10 children, Rosemary Smith, Brick Township, Bobby Williams, Wall Township, Patty Hunt, Honesdale, Pa., Eileen Curran, Mt. Joy, Pa., Judy McClellan, Allenhurst, Peggy Binness, Montclair, Maureen Abel, Ocean Grove, Kevin Williams, and Sean Williams, both of Encinitas, Calif., and John Williams, Sicklerville; one sister, Doris Segrist, Neptune; his cousin, Dr. George Lauback; five sons-in-law; three daughters-in-law; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Funeral arrangements were from the Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar.

Contributions in Mr. William's memory may be made to the United Way of Monmouth County, 1415 Wyckoff Road, Farmingdale, 07727.

Lida Steel Poland

Las Vegas, Nev., resident Lida Steel Poland, formerly of Sea Girt, died Saturday, Dec. 7 in her home.

She was 90 years old.

Born in Newark, Mrs. Poland lived in Kearney and Sea Girt before moving to Las Vegas in 1988.

She was employed with Hudson Lamp, Kearney, retiring in 1974.

She was predeceased in 1980 by her husband, Cornelius Van Rancelar Poland.

Surviving are one son, John V., Spring Lake; one daughter, Janice Poland Tanno, Beach Haven; one brother, Bertram Steel, Belmar; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are from the Armitage Funeral Home, Wall Township. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. tonight in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Arlington cemetery, Kearney.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Poland's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mary Clary Campbell

Spring Lake resident Mary Clary Campbell died Wednesday, Dec. 4 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

She was 99 years old.

Born in Port Glasgow, Scotland, Mrs. Campbell lived in Kearney before moving to Belmar in 1970, and then to Spring Lake three years ago.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a homemaker.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Campbell, one brother, Edward Clary, and two sisters, Winifred Clary and Kathleen MacLaughlin.

Surviving are one son, Frank Campbell, Monmouth Junction; one daughter, Mary Margaret Gearty, Spring Lake; one sister, Margaret Connolly, Scotland; and three grandchildren, William F. Gearty, Los Angeles, Sharon Connors, Voorhees, and Leigh Prescott, Vale, Colo.

Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Caroline C. Pisano

Spring Lake Heights resident Caroline "Carrie" C. Pisano died Saturday, Nov. 30 in her home.

She was 92 years old.

Born in Mahwah, Mrs. Pisano lived in Paterson for 65 years before moving to Wall Township four years ago.

She had been employed as a cook for 20 years with the Diocese of Paterson at Blessed Sacrament Church, before retiring in 1990 at age 80.

She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, Paterson, and a member of it's senior citizens group.

She was predeceased in 1969 by her husband, Florian Pisano.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ralph Pellecchia, Sea Girt; three grandchildren, Carol Hanley, Mark Pellecchia, and Gregg Pellecchia; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall.

Contributions in Mrs. Pisano's memory may be made to the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, 3300 Route 66, Neptune, 07753.

Harriet K. Nugent

Avon-By-The-Sea resident Harriet Kirkland Nugent died Sunday, Dec. 8 in the Praxis Alzheimer's Facility, Easton, Pa.

She was 85 years old.

Born in Newark, Mrs. Nugent lived in Harrison before moving to Avon 25 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church, Avon, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court St. Elizabeth 1486.

She was a member of the Avon Women's Club and the Avon Senior Citizens Club.

She was predeceased in January by her husband, Frederick F. Nugent.

Surviving are one son, Frederick Nugent Jr., Houston; two daughters, Betty Jane Bevins, Phillipsburg, and Kathy Mayer, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; one brother, Robert Kirkland; two sisters, Kay McDevitt and Mary Madsen; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are from the O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township. Visiting will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow in the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth's Church, Avon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Nugent's memory may be made to the Praxis Alzheimer's Facility, 500 Washington St., Attn: Ilana Fallon, Easton, PA 18042.

Jeffrey Lynn Spencer

Arcadia, Ind., resident Jeffrey Lynn Spencer, formerly of Manasquan, died Tuesday, Dec. 3 in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He was 43 years old.

Born in Charleston, S.C., Mr. Spencer lived in Manasquan before moving to Indiana.

He was a graduate of Manasquan High School, Class of 1979.

He was a fireman with Manasquan Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Ashley Nicole Spencer, and his stepfather, Charles E. Campbell.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy M. Lee Spencer; one daughter, Jennifer Spencer, Arcadia, Ind.; his mother, Johanna Cross Spencer Campbell, Noblesville, Ind.; his father and stepmother, John P. and Donna Spencer, Cicero, Ind.; seven brothers, Mark Spencer, Westfield, Ind., Donald Spencer, Indianapolis, Cory Campbell, Boston, Charles Campbell Jr., Rockford, Ill., Larry Umberger, Mocksville, N.C., Kevin Spencer, Tipton, Ind., and Brian Spencer, Cicero, Ind.; four sisters, Janet Murray, Stuart, Fla., Twila Smith, Rochester, Ind., Kim Spencer, Arcadia, Ind., and Brenda King, Cicero, Ind.; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Gertner and Zachary Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

Michael C. Michau

Howell Township resident Michael C. Michau, formerly of Wall Township, died Monday, Dec. 2 in Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.

He was 23 years old.

Born in Long Branch, Michael lived in Wall before moving to Howell seven years ago.

He was a graduate of Wall High School, Class of 1997.

He was employed for the past year as a police communications operator with the New Brunswick Police Department. He had previously been employed with the Neptune City Police Department, MONOC, and as a security officer in Edison Township. He was a certified animal control officer and a certified EMT and heavy extrication technician.

He was a graduate of the first Junior Navy ROTC class at Wall High School, and received the meritorious service award from the Department of the Navy.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police; the National Police Defense Foundation; both the Howell Township and Neptune Township Offices of Emergency Management; Howell Township First Aid and Rescue Squad No. 1; Manalapan-Englishtown First Aid Squad; Squankum Fire Company; both the Wall Community and Brick Township First Aid Squads; Wall Township, Manalapan, and west Belmar Police Explorers; the Order of the Arrow Boy Scouts of America, the New Jersey Naval Militia, and SMARTSAR.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Marjorie and Charlie Doerzbacher.

Surviving are his parents, Richard C. and Bonnie Doerzbacher Michau, Howell; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Gloshen, Wall; his aunt and uncle, Wendie and Stephen Berardi, Palm City, Fla.; two cousins, Christopher and Stephen; and many friends and his dog, Zack.

Funeral arrangements were from the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, Jackson Township.
