PIPER, DENNIS M., 55, of Tuckerton, died Sunday morning, June 9, 2002, at the Southern Ocean Community Hospital, Manahawkin. He was born October 7, 1946 in Altoona, PA, the son of Melvin and May (Galbraith) Piper. His father predeceased him.
He married M. Karen Fleck on September 19, 1970 in Altoona. Mr. Piper was employed as a custodian for the Stafford Twp. Board of Education, and had previously owned Piper's Auto Body Shop in Altoona. He was a member of the Broad Ave. Presbyterian Church in Altoona, and a 1966 Graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a member of Lodge Logan F & AM, Scottish Rite Body of Altoona, and the Jaffa Shrine.
He is survived by: his wife; a son, Matthew of Tuckerton; his mother of Altoona; a sister, Marcia Hinton of Hollidaysburg; two nieces, Autumn Hinton and Amber Gordon; and two nephews, Jeff and Don McMullen.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home, 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, PA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Rev. Carl W. Alexy, with interment in Alto Reste Park, Altoona. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

PARKER, MILDRED J. "PEG" (Zwaluk), 80, died on May 26, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. Born in Collingswood, she had lived in Tijeras, NM since 1992.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Peggy J. Summers, and is survived by her daughters, Rose Anne Davidson of Tijeras, NM and Dorothy Mitzel of Egg Harbor Township; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She retired from USAirways as a reservation agent and prior to her employment there was employed by the A&P. She was a member of the Rio Grande Mule and Donkey Association and the New Mexico carriage Association. She loved Jack Russell terriers and was a rescuer of abandoned and abused equines.
A memorial service was held on June 5 at the Church of the Holy Cross in Edgewood, NM.
The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to ALERRT, 16 Kennedy Drive, Los Lunas, NM 87301.

SHEHADI MARGUERITE "PAT" 76 of Margate passed away on June 14 2002 at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia PA after a battle with leukemia.
Mrs. Shehadi was born and raised in Barton VT. She attended Lyndon Teachers' College in Lydonville VT. After graduating college in 1946 she remained in Vermont where she taught at Greensboro Elementary School. She moved to the Atlantic City area in the early 1950's and resided in Margate for more than 40 years. She also maintained a winter residence in Pompano Beach FL.
Mrs. Shehadi was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Margate and was active in a number of community organizations. She is survived by her husband Alexander Shehadi of Margate; her son and daughter-in-law Paul and Frances Shehadi of Wallingford PA; her son Michael Shehadi of Fort Lauderdale FL; her daughter Debra Shehadi of Cynthiana KY; her grandchildren Grace and Alexander Shehadi; her brother Robert Nadeau of China TX; her brother Paul Nadeau of Fort Lauderdale FL; her brother Roger Nadeau of Marlboro MA; her sister Yvette Orisini of Rochester NY; her aunt Madeleine Siefen of Gaines-ville FL; her aunt Violette Nicole of Gainesville FL; and her uncle Rudolphe Cloutier of Port St. Lucie FL.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church Jerome and Ventnor Avenues Margate. Friends may call at the church at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. SMITH, FLORENCE L. KUPPEL, 86, of Egg Harbor, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2002 at the Atlantic City Medical Center, Pomona. She was born in Atlantic City, and had been a life long area resident.
She is survived by her son: Walter Kuppel of Newfield; her daughter: Elaine Conforti, Egg Harbor; two sisters: Ida English of Northfield and Julia Glassey of Pleasantville; she is also survived by her six grandchil-dren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday June 26, 2002 at the Atwood Peterson O'Brien Funeral Home, 1114 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service. Interment will be at Laurel Memorial Park, Pomona.

WILLIAMS JANICE JOHNS 65 of Egg Harbor City passed away on Saturday June 22 2002 at Cooper Hospital Camden. She was born in Somers Point and has lived in Egg Harbor City for many years. She worked at Weisbecker Cleaners in Egg Harbor City. Janice will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by: her husband John Williams of Egg Harbor City; her children Richard J. Brown of Egg Harbor City Donna De Phillips of Egg Harbor Township and David Browns of Willow Grove PA; her surviving siblings Armor Johns and Robert Johns - both of Egg Harbor City and Peggy Johnson of Hammonton; her grandchildren Jessica Brown Rachel Brown Rebecca Brown Alexis Brown Richard and Renee De Phillips; also other close relatives and her many friends.
Her viewing will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday June 25 2002 and 10 to 11 AM Wednesday June 26 2002 at Wimberg Funeral Home 400 Liverpool Avenue Egg Harbor City (609-965-0357) where her Funeral Service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Egg Harbor City cemetery.

GRAY CHARLES B. 79 of Somers Point passed away Saturday July 6 2002 at his home.
Born in Avon North Carolina he was a lifelong resident of Somers Point. He was the son of the late Bateman and Emeline Gray.
He served as a member of the Somers Point Police Department from 1946 until his retirement in 1977 and was Chief for 22 years. During his tenure as Chief he provided the strong leadership needed during the turbulent 60's and changing times of the 70's. After his retirement he worked for 13 years at Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
He proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in England France Belgium Holland and Germany with the 9th Air Force. He was decorated with the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon the Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal; recently he was awarded the Liberation De La France as well as the Distinguished Service Medal from the State of New Jersey.
Over the years he had been involved with many civic and community organizations including the Somers Point Republican Club Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #2189 Somers Point Marine Unit Atlantic County Chief's Association and PBA Local #77. He is survived by his wife Gladys of Somers Point; son Gary and his wife Patty of Somers Point; daughter Susan of Egg Harbor Twp.; son Steven of Delhaven; sister Sybil Schneider of Woodbury; grandchildren: Gary Bobby Madison; niece Joan Goodman; nephew Joe Gray and stepchildren: Bill Smith Suzanne Whedbee and Marie Jerdan.
He was an avid golfer fisherman and hunter spending time with his family and many friends in these pursuits. Member of the American Legion Post 352 of Somers Point.
Services will be held on Wednesday 10:00a.m. at the Middleton Stroble and Zale Funeral Home 304 Shore Road Somers Point. Interment Atlantic County Veterans cemetery Estell Manor. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9p.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 626 N. Shore Road Absecon NJ 08201 or to Grace Lutheran Church Shore Road Somers Point NJ 08244.

LOYLE, NELLIE, 85, of Somers Point, formerly of Margate, passed away at the Ocean Point Nursing Home in Somers Point, on July 6, 2002.
Nellie was a war-bride coming to this country from London, England. She was in the British Royal Airforce during W.W. II, where she worked the underground switch boards. There she met her late husband Franklin Loyle who was in the U.S. Navy and came to America shortly after the war. She became a citizen of the U.S. raising her family in the Inlet section of Atlantic City. She enjoyed gardening, walking, baking, and playing shuffle board at Maynard's in Margate for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin, son Harry and daughter-in-law Dorothy. She is survived by a daughter Christine McGhee of EHT, son, Franklin Loyle and wife Dawn of Absecon, eight grandchildren: Kelly McGhee, Michael McGhee and wife Dawn, Rachel (Loyle) Zubrzycki and husband Ed, Shannon (McGhee) Cella and husband John, Eric Loyle, Ryan Loyle, Brandon Loyle, and Samantha Loyle; three great grandchildren: Alexa and Olivia McGhee and Jack Cella. Memorial services will be held Thursday 10a.m. at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 7300 Ventnor Ave., Ventnor. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Nellie's memory to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Morristown Memorial Hospital - 100 Madison Ave., Morristown, NJ 07960 - Attention: Leslie Diamond or a charity of your choice.

STREET, THOMAS L., 80, of Linwood, passed way on July 7, 2002 at Shore Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Delaware until 1971 at which time he joined Lenox China as the Controller. He served in this position until his retirement on December 31, 1984.
During World War II he served as a Naval Aviator having earned his wings upon graduating from the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida. His assignment with the Navy was a member of the crew who flew patrols in search of enemy subMarines. After his discharge from the Navy in 1946, he returned to the University of Delaware to complete his education and graduate in 1948.
While living in Delaware, he was a member of the Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church where he served as the Church Treasurer for ten years preceding his move to New Jersey. In Delaware and New Jersey he served as a United Way Volunteer.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion (Dolly); his daughter, Donna Murphy and son-in-law, Dale of Wilmington, DE; his two sons, Todd and daughter-in-law, Jennifer of New Iberia, Louisiana, and Bruce and daughter-in-law, Lisa of Ann Arbor, Michigan; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Amy Beardsley of Boonton.
Friends are invited to the Funeral Service which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at the Central United Methodist Church, Central Ave. and Shore Rd., Linwood. Relatives and friends may call at the time of the service at the church. A private burial service will be held at the Lower Brandywine cemetery in Centerville, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017-3288. Arrangements by Adams-Perfect Funeral Home.

CERVINI, JOSEPH, 102, of Vineland, formerly of Minotola on July 7, 2002, at Bishop McCarthy Resident, Vineland. Born in Vineland, he was clothing worker for Tursini Clothing in Vineland for 25 years until his retirement.
Mr. Cervini had been a Vineland resident since 1939 moving from Minotola. Employed by New System Laundry Co. for 15 years. Mr. Cervini was a self employed farmer, retiring 40 years ago. A member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. He loved to travel, especially Atlantic City; he also loved horses and dogs.
Survivors: son & daughter-in-law, Alfred & Bernadette Cervini, Vineland, Raymond Cervini, Vineland, daughter and son-in-law, Lois & Michael Samilenko, Vineland; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at a revised to of 11:00 a.m. St. Mary's Church, East Vineland, 736 Union Road, Vineland. Burial St. Mary's cemetery, 736 Union Road, Vineland. Visiting hours Wednesday 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. St. Mary's Church.

HERMLEY, ROSE E., 84, of Rio Grande, died on July 6, 2002 in Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she formerly lived in the Kensington Section of Phila. before moving here 18 years ago. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Gerald; a daughter, Diana V. Witham of Rio Grande; two sisters, Dolores Simmons of Lower Twp. and Violet Flymyr of Levittown, PA; a brother, Walter Kitz of Lansdale, PA; two grandsons, Edward and David Witham and five great-grandchildren. Service and burial are private. Evoy Funeral Home.

McAVADDY VIRGINIA FRANCES "GINNY" 88 of Atlantic City passed away on Sunday July 7 2002 at the Meadowview Nursing Home with family present following a lengthy illness.
Born in Atlantic City and a lifetime resident Virginia attended the local public school system and graduated from Atlantic City Vocational School. During her working career she had been employed by the National Department Store in Atlantic City and Steels Fudge Shop on the Boardwalk.
An outgoing and vibrant person she enjoyed life and would try anything. Virginia had enjoyed reading traveling the Mummers dancing the Miss America Pageant parties parades bingo the Casinos being with people and attending shows. She dearly loved her family and particularly enjoyed participating in family gatherings.
She is predeceased by her husband to whom she was devoted for 54 years John J. McAvaddy Sr. her parents Frank and Anna Miller her sister Joyce McGuigan and a great grandson Jimmy.
Surviving Virginia are three sons: Jack McAvaddy and his wife Marcie of Atlantic City Jim McAvaddy and Peggy of Redington Shores Florida and Jerry McAvaddy and his wife Beverly of Presque Isle Maine. Also surviving are her loving sister Dorothy Miller of Atlantic City 11 grandchildren: J.P. Ray Amy MaryBeth Ryan Jeff Colleen Ginny Travis Ron and Hillary 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass Thursday 10 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church 2651 Atlantic Avenue AC. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. at the Church. Rite of Committal will be in Atlantic City cemetery Pleasantville. Donations in her memory to the Joyce McGuigan Scholarship Fund - Our Lady Star Of The Sea School - 15 North California Avenue Atlantic City NJ 08401 would be appreciated. Arraignments by the Gormley Funeral Home 2706 Atlantic Avenue AC.

PANTALIONE SR. FRANK A. 53 of Vineland died Saturday evening in the S.J.H. Newcomb Div. Vineland after an extended illness. Frank was born in Belleplan raised in East Vineland and was a lifelong Vineland area resident. He was the son of the late Joseph & Florence Livingston Pantalione.
Frank worked in construction and was a self employed cement mason. He enjoyed cooking visiting the Casino and especially being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 33 yrs.: Sally (Miller); three sons: Frank A. Jr. & Michelle East Vineland Darin & Christine Buena and Dale of Vineland; one brother: Ron Pantalione Vineland; two step brothers: Joe Pantalione and Harold Livingston both of Belleplain; two aunts: Jennie Covella & Lena DiDomenico both of Vineland; Rena & Edward Miller Buena. As well as a loving extended family.
His funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary's RC Church 736 Union Rd. East Vineland where friends may call from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Church cemetery under the direction of Pancoast Funeral Home Vineland.
