HANSON, ROSE M., 82, of Matawan/Old Bridge, on October 6, 2002 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.
She had worked in the Cliffwood Elementary School Cafeteria, and was a life member of Lady's Auxiliary Cheesequake Fire Department with over 20 years of service.
Rose is survived by her sons, Charles and Nancy Hanson, Middletown, Paul and Maryann Hanson of Howell; daughters, Rose King of Egg Harbor Township, Patricia and Richard Roberts of Keansburg; her twin sister Loretta Baker of E. Greenwich RI, and sisters Carmella Lancellota of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Maryann Maddaline of E. Greenwich, RI and Margarite Garden of E. Greenwich, RI. Also survived by eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John Hanson and her husband, John Vincent Hanson.
Services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2002 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's RC Church, Keyport with visitation being held on Wednesday October 9, 2002 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, Inc, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. Interment Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

SYDNOR, JOHN T., formerly of Norfolk, VA, departed this life on October 4, 2002. He is survived by his sister Jesse T. Sydnor, four daughters Jessie Wilkerson, Johanna Sydnor, Joy Boyd, Jeri Peters, six grandchildren and beloved friends and extended family. Our love and hope is to see him with our Lord in a better place. Private memorial service will be held for the spreading of his ashes at a later date.

WALLACE DORIS C., of Upper Deerfield Township, died Saturday morning in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden, after a brief illness. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past four days.
Mrs. Wallace was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Charles Carll and Sadie Waddington Woolbert. The wife of the late Frank F. Wallace, she had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Township for the past 54 years.
She had formerly been employed with M.C. Schrank Co. in Bridgeton and was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield.
Survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis Vickers, Fort Pierce, FL and Kay Wallace, Somers Point; two sons, Lin Sheldon, Holden Beach, NC and Frank F. Wallace, 3rd, Bridgeton; one sister, Margaret Carll, Beesley's Point; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Dix and her step-father, Lin Woolbert.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday morning, October 9, at 11:00 o'clock in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Cremation will take place in Laurel Lawn Crematory, Upper Deerfield Township. At the family's request, there will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations, in Mrs. Wallace's memory, to the First Wesleyan Church, 200 West Laurel Heights Drive, Bridgeton, NJ 08301.

PARRILLO, ANTHONY, 80, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 5, 2002 surrounded by his family at the Atlantic City Medical Center, Mainland Division. Born in Philadelphia, his family moved to Woodbury when he was very young. He spent a good part of his life in Absecon before moving to Mays Landing three years ago. He was a retired bricklayer with union local 33 and enjoyed being with family, gardening, and listening to music. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lydia, a daughter, Lynn Jones of Mays Landing predeceased by her husband Gray; a son Robert Parrillo of Brigantine, sisters, Emma Gurk of Sewell, Rose Salese of Cherry Hill, Mary Parrillo of Florida, many nieces and nephews, and good friends. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Mario Parrillo. A Viewing will be held Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Rt. 50 & 2nd St., Mays Landing. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery in Mays Landing. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association Memorials & Tributes Program, 2550 U.S. Highway 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902 or The American Cancer Society, 628 No. Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201.

ROGERS, ELIZABETH A. "BETTY", 70, longtime community leader and co-owner of Don Rogers, Inc. of Bridgeton, died Sunday evening October 6, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. She had been seriously ill for the last seven weeks. Mrs. Rogers was a longtime resident of Upper Deerfield Township.
Born in Greenwich, she attended Bridgeton High School with the Class of 1949. In 1953, she and her husband, Donald O. Rogers, established Don Rogers, an excavating and road construction company. Originally located on Ewing Street in Bridgeton, they started as a company digging cellars and doing finish-grading work. As the business grew they moved to the current Reeves Road location and became involved in site work and excavation for building sites, road construction, paving and athletic field and tennis court construction. Upon incorporation in 1978, Mrs. Rogers assumed the corporate responsibility of Secretary/Treasurer and after her husband's death in 1989, her son; Donald O. Rogers, Jr. became company president.
A leader in the community for several years, Mrs. Rogers was an active member of St. John's First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bridgeton. She was a member of Church Council, the chairperson of the finance board and the Lutheran Women's Mission. In addition, she was a member of the Luther League and had been active for years with church dinners.
Mrs. Rogers was an integral part of the hospice movement in southern New Jersey. She joined the Board of Directors of HospiceCare of S.J. in 1992 and served until 1999. For every year from 1993 until last week she had served as the chairperson for the annual Hospice Lobster Bake and even though she no longer served on the HospiceCare Board of Directors she continued to serve as the chairperson of the Fund Raising Committee. Under her guidance funds have been raised for hospice patients and their families in excess of $100,000. In October of 2000, Mrs. Rogers was honored by the N.J. Hospice and Palliative Care Organization as the "Community Leader of the Year" with the "Spirit of Hospice Award" for her untiring efforts on behalf of hospice.
She was also a member of Soroptomist International of Cumberland County since 1991. Over the years she served as delegate, treasurer, director and second vice president in charge of community service. In May of 1999, she was recognized and honored by the Soroptomist Club with the "Women Helping Women Award", which recognizes women who use their resources, talents and influence to help other women achieve their potential.
She was a member of a card club for over forty years and enjoyed traveling.
The daughter of Anna Richey Dickinson of Pittsgrove Township and the late Watson Richey, she is survived by one son, Donald O. Rogers Jr. and his wife Urve, five grandchildren, Kristen Cornatzer and her husband Joseph, Ingrid White and her husband Michael Sr., Marianne V. Rogers, Donald O. Rogers, III and Karen A. Rogers, one great grandson, Michael White, Jr. and two sisters, Marilyn Lupton of Port Norris and Dorothy Stratton of Upper Deerfield Township. Mrs. Rogers is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will originate at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Thursday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. at St. John's First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak and Giles Streets, Bridgeton.
The interment will be made at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 and also Thursday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.
Memorial contributions are suggested in Mrs. Rogers' memory to St. John's First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak and Giles Sts., Bridgeton, N.J. 08302 or to HospiceCare of S.J., 2848 S. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.

CAPELLI, ANDREA (nee TOMASSO), 58, of Landisville, passed away at her home on October 5, 2002.
Andrea was employed for Prudential Insurance Co. in Millville for 17 years, then was employed for Buena Storage in Buena for two years. A member and lecturer for the Weight Watcher program during the early 1980's. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and trips to the Atlantic City casinos.
Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Chris Capelli-Denelsbeck, Landisville; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Shari Capelli, Italy; sisters, Pearl Landsi, Minotola and Jacqueline Driver, California; grand-children, Domique Malino, Heather Denelsbeck, Gianna Capelli and Christopher Denelsbeck Jr. Also many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Salvatore J. Capelli Jr. in 1999.
Funeral will be held on Thursday October 10, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, 23 W. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Burial will take place at the Our Lady of Victories cemetery, Summer Avenue, Landisville. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Donations to HospiceCare of South Jersey, 2848 South Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Arrangements under the direction of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.

DONNELLY, SR., WILLIAM J., 70, of North Cape May, on October 5, 2002, at his home. Mr. Donnelly resided in Darby, PA for many years before moving to North Cape May in 1991.
He was employed as a Machine Operator and was a member of the Operating Engineer's Union Local 542, Philadelphia. For the past 11 years he was employed as a security guard for the Lobster House Restaurant in Cape May. Mr. Donnelly served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a former member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Darby, PA, and a member of Villas Fishing Club. He was the son of the late Peter and Esther Redhead Donnelly.
Survived by his wife, Julia V. Gallagher Donnelly; sons, William J. Donnelly of North Cape May, Joseph Donnelly of West Chester, PA, Steven Donnelly of Ridley Park, PA, Christopher Donnelly of Villas, and William Robert Donnelly of Georgia; daughters, Linda Donnelly of Boothwyn, and Donna Roy of North Cape May; brothers, Richard and John Donnelly both of Secane; 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1101 Main St., Darby, PA, 19023. Visitation, Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Marvil Funeral Home, 1110 Main St., Darby, PA. Burial, SS Peter and Paul cemetery. Arrangements by Marvil Funeral Home, Darby.

WELDON, JEAN K, 101, of Ocean City, died November 10, 2002 at Wesley Manor in Ocean City.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA she had lived in East Orange, before moving to Ocean City in 1963.
Mrs. Weldon had worked as a secretary for Carnegy Steel, in Pittsburgh, PA.
She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Ocean City, a former member of The Leisure Club, and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by two nephews, Ted Schmidt and his wife Edy of Somerset, Robert Baker and his wife Mary Lou of Pittsburgh, PA, a niece, Suzanne Bowers and her husband Lester of Warminster, PA, dear friend, Isabelle Kevis of Ocean City, and many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
A service of Memory and Love will be offered Sunday afternoon at one o'clock from the Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City. Interment will follow in Friends cemetery, Linwood.
The family suggests those who desire send memorial contributions to St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Eighth Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226.

JOHNSON, LYNETTE MICHELLE TONEY, 49, of Cottage Park, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2002, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Tacoma, Maryland.
Lynnette was born on July 21, 1953. She was the daughter of Irene Toney Page and Frank Toney and the step-daughter of James Page. Lynnette was the devoted mother of two children, Jessica Lindsey Johnson and Jordan Kristopher Johnson, of whom she was most proud; she spoke lovingly and often of their accomplishments. She was the beloved sister to five brothers: Kenneth, Bruce, Dale (and wife Linda), Lamonte, and Edward.
Her education was begun at Woodbine Elementary School; from there she went to Millville High School and graduated in 1971. In 1975, Lynnette earned a BS in psychology from Glassboro State College, now known as Rowan University.
Lynnette worked as a child's service director for eleven years at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. However, her greatest love and joy came from sharing her faith in her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her ministry was that of intercession through prayer. Those who came into contact with her were up lifted by her encouraging and warm spirit.
Her homegoing services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Adams and Longfellow in Woodbine. The viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Woodbine cemetery. 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Arrangements Edwards and Son Funeral Home, Inc, Bridgeton and Salem.

BULLOCK, HAZEL REBECCA ORTH, 90, of Somers Point, died at home on November 16, 2002. Hazel was born March 8, 1912 in Shelby County, IA. The oldest of a family of six born to Jacob DeKalb Orth and Anna Grace Wink Orth, In June of 1921, they moved to Fort Littleton, PA, DeKalb Orth's hometown. Hazel graduated from high school in 1932 and came to New Jersey to study Nursing at the Atlantic City Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1935. In 1936, she married Bart A. Bullock. Hazel was a member of the Atlantic City Hospital Nursing Alumni Association, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlantic City, and The Granny Club of Atlantic City.
Mrs. Bullock is survived by her three children, Richard Alan Bullock and his wife Paula Jean, Daniel Bart A. Bullock and his wife Cassie Folis Bullock, Paula Diane Bullock and her husband Frank Finnerty. Also one brother, Wendell Paul Orth of Chambersburg, PA, and cousins, Richard Fraker of Saltillo, PA and Helen Osborne of Johnstown, PA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Bethlee Andrea Bullock Rosa and her husband Rick R., J. Bart A. Bullock, "Dano" A. Bullock and his wife Erika Wong, Faith Katherine McAdam, Richard Alan Bullock, Paula Marie Bullock, Kelly Finnerty Grimley and her husband Thomas, Michael Finnerty, Patrick Finnerty, and Michael Folis and great grandchildren, Andrea Thyrring and Donny Bart Andrew Bullock.
Her Life Celebration and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Jeffries & Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Road and Infield Ave., Northfield, where relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Friends of Jean Webster's Kitchen, Inc., PO Box 5146, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.

PURNELL, CORAL ANN "MaMa", 45, of Atlantic City, passed away and went home to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 28, 2002 at her residence.
Born in Atlantic City she attended the area public schools and worked at various Hotels and Casinos. She was lastly employed as a Chef at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.
Predeceased by her father Johnnie Diggs, she is survived by her children; Khalif, Jameece and Zykia Purnell all of Atlantic City; her mother Etta Purnell, of Atlantic City; a brother Lester Purnell, of Atlantic City; five grandchildren, Amirah and Sabriah Purnell, Abdur and Azir Abdullah, and Shawn-Ali Muhammad; her nieces, Donna, Dee-Dee and Nicole Purnell; a special niece, Leslie Purnell; two special friends, Sabrina Winters and Shynese Adams and a host of other loving relatives and fine friends.
Funeral Services were private. Director of Funeral (Mikal's 1-609-344-1131).

CARPENTER, WAYNE HARDING "AC BOOM", 52, of Atlantic City, died and went home on November 24, 2002 in the VA hospital in Hampton, Virginia.
Born in Atlantic City, he attended St. Nicholas Elementary school and graduated from Atlantic City High. Wayne is a former member of St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church where he was an altar boy. A U.S. Naval Veteran, he worked for Art Handlers as a truck driver. He relocated to Camden, and eventually found his home in Hampton, Virginia.
Surviving are a loving wife, Glenda Lee Williams-Carpenter. A son LaTrell Washington, daughters Liza and Sharonda Tinley of Camden, one stepdaughter, Crystal Williams, three grandchildren Te Ya, Cierra and Jolessa Williams of Philadelphia, PA. Wayne is also survived by five brothers and sisters, Laverne Crew of Camden, Ralph Weekes Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Doreen Weekes-Cone of S. Plainfield, Boynton R. Weekes Lawrenceville and Denee Weekes of Johnstown, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be said 11 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2002 at St. Monica R.C. Church, 108 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Atlantic City, friends may call from 9 a.m. Burial in Atlantic City cemetery, Pleasantville.
Arrangements by Greenidge Funeral Home, Atlantic City.
