FORD, ROSEMARIE ANNE, (VANSANT), 61 - of Egg Harbor Township, died suddenly on Friday evening, November 28, 2003, at home.
Born in Atlantic City and a lifetime area resident, she attended Holy Spirit High School in Atlantic City and was a member of the Gamma Sigma Sorority.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, RoseMarie was dedicated to furthering the rights of the disabled as a Barrier Free Advocate. She was a former member of the Atlantic County Board of Disabled and also worked for the United Cerebral Palsy organization. She enjoyed traveling, walks on the boardwalk and local wildlife.
RoseMarie was predeceased by her son Michael Ford, her parents, Nelson and Marie VanSant, brother John VanSant and sister Catherine Steele. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Emerson J. Ford, daughter, Christine Mulholland, son Matthew V. Ford; three grandchildren: Amanda, Lilah and Johnny, her sister Sally Basile and husband Robert, brothers and sisters-in-law: Paul and Dutchie Lavigna and John and Marie Pruchnicki, nieces and nephews and friends.
The Funeral Mass for RoseMarie will be Celebrated 10:30a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. Friends may call from 9:30a.m. at the Church. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home, LLC, 2706 Atlantic Avenue, A.C.

BARRY, JOHN "Bay Rat", 65 - of Atlantic City, passed away quietly on Saturday, November 29, 2003 in the Mainland Division of Atlantic City Medical Center, surrounded by his beloved family and friends at his bedside.
John was born in Atlantic City and lived all his life in Chelsea Heights. His greatest love was the bay, where he spent much of his free time fishing and boating.
A Bartender, he was a member of Local 54 of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union in Atlantic City. He worked at McGettigan's Albany Arms Bar for over 35 years. Before that, he worked at the Wonder Bar.
John is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose Barry.
He is survived by: his longtime companion, Sandra Elberson; a son, John Barry of Atlantic City; a daughter, Karen Barry of Egg Harbor Township; two brothers, Joseph Barry of Belcoville and Robert Barry of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Mary Blankenship of West Palm Beach, FL and Margaret Cheek and her husband Thomas of Bargaintown; a granddaughter, Amanda Barry; his two step- granddaughters, Rachael and Michelle Elberson. Also surviving are seven nephews and five nieces; along with his very faithful dog, Lucky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2003 in the Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, California and Atlantic Avenues, Atlantic City. Friends may call for visitation on Wednesday morning, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the H.M. Gormley Funeral Home, 44 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City. The Rite of Committal will be offered immediately following Mass in the Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, 2009 Bacharach Blvd., Atlantic City, NJ 08401.

DRUMMOND, MARIE, 87 - of Cardiff, died Sunday, November 30, 2003 at her home. She was born in Philadelphia moving to Atlantic County 17 years ago. She was a waitress for 20 years at Swartzwalds Inn on Olney Avenue in Philadelphia and before retiring she worked for Stockton College as a Cashier.
She is survived by her daughter Dolores W. Wessner; her granddaughter and her husband, Theresa and Fred Riese and her grandson and his wife, Robert and Jody Wessner and her three great grandchildren, Matt Riese, and Kirsten and Shelby Wessner.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 12 noon at Parsels Funeral Home, 324 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, with burial to follow in Laurel Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. Donations in her memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation.

BRESLIN, DOROTHY W., 82 - of Millville, died suddenly on Sunday as the result of an auto accident. Born in Swedesboro, she had been a resident of Millville for 55 years. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Wheaton Glass Co. as an inspector. Mrs. Breslin was a very active member of the Trinity United Methodist church and enjoyed church sponsored bus trips.
Survived by four nieces, Barbara Moncrief, Estella Sellers, Marguerite O'Keefe and Elizabeth Smick; two nephews, John and David Eastlack and special grand niece, Diane Temple and several other grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in Barbetti Funeral Home, 2104 E. Main Street. The burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 2nd and Smith Streets, Millville, NJ 08332.

EVANS, JESSE, 74 - of Atlantic City, was born June 30, 1929, in Gough, GA. Sonny, as he was affectionately called, went home to be with the Lord November 27, 2003, at the Atlantic City Medical Center. He worked as a houseman for the Ritz Condominiums for many years before his illness. He also attended Caring Uptown Medical Daycare, for many years. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Pearlie; a daughter Sharon West; two grandsons, Jason and Ahmein; one granddaughter, Nieyma Joy, two great grandsons, nieces, nephews and in-laws; and many friends. Viewing will be at Greenidge Funeral Home, Thursday December 4, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Caring. Burial, Atlantic City cemetery, Pleasantville.

LEE, CLEO M., 80 - of Little Egg Harbor, passed away suddenly November 28, 2003 at ACMC in Pomona. Born in Indiana, she resided in Washington, DC and Columbus, Ohio moving to Little Egg Harbor from Speedwell 10 years ago. Mrs. Lee was a private secretary at Ft. Dix and she and her late husband John were the owners of Lee Brothers Farm in Speedwell. She served her country in the US Marine Corp from 1943-1945 as a Corporal. She attended St. Josephs RC Church Hammonton. Preceded in death by her husband John in 1987, she is survived by her sons: John of Little Egg Harbor, William of Ocean View, Robert of Little Egg Harbor, her daughter with whom she lived, Kathleen A. Lee, her sister, Claire Louise of Columbus Ohio, 11 grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and will be truly missed by her daughter with whom she lived for 15 years. Visitation hours will be Wednesday, December 3, 2003 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Rd., Little Egg Harbor, where services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Private Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or your local Salvation Army.

WEIERBACH, JOHN J. (JOHNNY PATCH), 71 - died Friday, November 28, 2003. He was a Korean Disabled War Veteran. He was given a Purple Heart. John stepped on a land mine in 1951 and barely survived. He was the proprietor of Johnny Patch's Lounge and Johnny Patch's Show Bar in Atlantic City from 1973 to 1985. He is survived by his wife Lorraine; his daughter Diane Fontaine and six grandchildren, Michael, Nicolas, Courtney, Danielle and John J.; one other grandson from his predeceased son John Weierbach, also named John Weierbach and two deceased brothers Harry and Joseph. Graveside Services will be held at V.A. cemetery in Estell Manor, Rt. 50 on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at 12 noon.

MASSIMIANO, AUDREY (nee FELL), 78 - of Ventnor, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 30, 2003. Born in Trenton, she earned a diploma in Nursing from Mercer Hospital in 1944. Along with her husband Richard, she operated World Wide Health Services Inc. in Upper Darby, PA. In her later years, she worked as a RN at Beachgate Rest Home in A.C. She is predeceased by her husband Richard; daughter Carol & brother Robert Fell. She is survived by her loving daughters, Ellen Rossetti (Salvatore, Jr.) of Absecon, Marion Massimiano of Ventnor and Anne Simone (James) of Plymouth Meeting, PA; as well as her two cherished granddaughters Carolyn Rossetti and Gianna Simone. A devoted mother, she was involved in many of her children's activities. She truly had a lust for life and enjoyed sports, fine food, reading, going out on the town and the comfort & company of her many dear friends. Audrey possessed a generous heart and a sharp wit and will be sadly missed by all who loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis Church, Yeadon, PA. OLSON, JR., EDWARD M., 51 - of North Wildwood, died on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Burdette Tomlin Hospital. He was the son of Darlene (nee Paul) who survives and the late Edward M., Sr. and was born in Sea Isle City. He was a lifetime area resident. He was a self employed painter. Ed enjoyed surfing and was one of the first surfboarders in North Wildwood. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Diane and husband, Klaus Burdsall of Somers Point, Sandra Platt of Stone Harbor, Ricky and his wife, Jenny of Cape May Court House and Lisa and husband, Frank Breakall of South Dennisville and a close friend, John Balzer of Wildwood. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House. Memorials may be made to the PACT, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

STERN, HAROLD M., 85 - of Little Egg Harbor, died on Saturday, November 29 at Seacrest Village Nursing Home, Little Egg Harbor. Mr. Stern was a foreign service staff officer with the Department of State, Washington, D.C. He was a member of the National Association Retired Federal Employees after 28 years with the department. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II. He attended St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach. Born in New York City, he resided in Washington, D.C., retiring to Little Egg Harbor in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette; son, Alfred G., Upper Marlboro, MD; daughter, Andrea Stern, Grand Blanc, MI; five grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 5 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, at 11 a.m. Private burial will be St. Joseph's cemetery, Toms River. Arrangements are by Wood Funeral Home, Tuckerton.

DAVIS, CHARLES B., 82 - of Millville, went home to be with the Lord November 28 at his home here. Born in Boston MA, he resided in Mt. Holly moving to Millville 10 years ago. Mr. Davis was a retired self employed automobile salesman and in recent years a jewelry salesman. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW Millville Post. He is survived by his children Charles & his wife Barbara of New Gretna, Steven & Cheryl of Millville and Carole & Barney Barnes of Egg Harbor City, three grandchildren, Craig S., Marc A. & Jessica. Services will be held Wednesday, December 3, at 11 a.m. at the chapel at the Brig. Gen Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery in Arneytown. Burial will follow in the Memorial cemetery and are entrusted to Maxwell Funeral Home Little Egg Harbor.

ALCOX, JR., HENRY L., 70 - of Millville, died Sunday, unexpectedly, while visiting family members in Richmond, Virginia.
Henry was born in North Carolina and moved to Millville in the late 50's. He was a retired union meat cutter, working for various supermarkets in Cumberland County. Mr. Alcox was a Army veteran in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Nabb Leslie Post #82, the Millville Elks Lodge #580 and the Millville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and socializing with his many friends.
Mr. Alcox is survived by his wife: Diane; son: Bryan Alcox of Mauricetown; daughter: Cindi Sweet of Norfolk, VA; three step daughters: Lynn Nayda of Richmond, VA; Christine Herbert of Dallas, TX; Julie Adams of Millville; two sisters: Lucille Herron of Elizabeth City, N.C.; Sheila McCorristin of Millville and 11 grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Rocap Shannon Memorial Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 6:30 p.m. Burial will be private. There will be an American Legion service at 6:45 p.m. and a Elks service at 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite 1010, Rockville, Maryland, 20852.

HOLMES, LORRAINE DOROTHEA, 81 - of Claremore, OK, died happily on Friday, November 28, 2003 in the Claremore Regional Hospital. The daughter of the late George Fox & Helen Marie (Coupler) Dougherty was born October 28, 1922 in Vineland.
In 1977, Lorraine moved to Claremore and founded Superior Cultured Marble, Inc. of Tulsa, OK. All of her employees knew her as "Mother Marble" and "Mom" because she treated them like family. In 1984, she retired. Lorraine is fondly remembered for her hospitality and vibrant personality. She loved to read, found comfort in the Bible, and collected Ashton-Drake dolls and Franklin Mint Treasures.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Theodore J. Hirst, Sr. & Gerald M. Holmes; parents, George & Helen Dougherty; and brother, William Dougherty.
She leaves behind a legacy of love. Survivors include: children, Sandra Kenealy & husband Gary, Theodore J. Hirst, Jr. & wife Kathy, Cynthia Terhune & husband Bernard; stepmother, Olive Dougherty; brother, George Fox Dougherty, III; nephew, Jimmy Young; nine grandchildren & 20 great grandchildren.
Private graveside funeral services will be conducted by the Pancoast Funeral Home, Vineland, in the Siloam cemetery, Vineland.

GREENE, DENNIS A., 52 - of Buena Vista Township, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Vineland and was an area resident most of his life. He served in the US Marine Corps. from 1968 to 1970 in the Vietnam War and received the national Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with device and the Combat Action Ribbon. He was a maintenance mechanic for Kellogg in Blue Anchor for over 20 years. He was a former machine operator for Green Giant in Vineland. He loved NASCAR racing and boating. He enjoyed building car motor's as a young boy and was very handy around the house. He was a member of the B C T & GM Union in Philadelphia, PA.
He is survived by wife: Karen (Anderson) Greene, Buena Vista Township; sons: Dennis Greene Jr., Florida, Robert Greene, Vineland, and Timothy Koebernik, Lindenwold; daughter: Melissa Koebernik, Clayton; father and his wife: Ralph and Dot Greene Sr., Elmer; mother and husband Dolores and Grady Massie Sr., Norma; brothers: Ralph Greene Jr., Elmer, Gerald Greene, Florida, and Grady Massie Jr, Norma; sister: Maebelle Thompson, Norma, four grandchildren. Predeceased by brother: Kenneth Greene.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. from the Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial park, Millville.

TAPP, ROBERT E., 56 - of Egg Harbor Township, died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at S.J. Health Systems in Vineland. Born in Atlantic City, he lived in Hammonton, before moving to Egg Harbor Township 12 years ago. He worked as a dealer for the Taj Mahal Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. He formerly worked at Ancora State Hospital as a Recreational Therapist. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion Funston Post #186 of Hammonton, Past Commander of the D.A.V. of Hammonton, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #09462 of Egg Harbor Township. He was an avid bowler and former member of the Knights of Columbus Pallotti Council #3471. He also played in many Hammonton City Leagues. Surviving is his former wife, Gloria (Santilli) Gugliotta of Hammonton; his children, Robert E. Tapp, Jr. and Robbrina Tapp, both of Hammonton; three brothers, Donald of Ventnor City, James of FL, and Timothy of NV; three sisters, Kathleen Tate of Ventnor City, Patricia Laute of Woodstown, and Joan Miller of FL; loving grandfather of Crystal Berggren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 9:00 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. 3rd St., Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph Church, 3rd & French Streets, Hammonton. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Hammonton.

DICKINSON, SARAH JANE, 66 - of Mays Landing, passed away on November 29, 2003 at Mainland Manor, Pleasantville. She was born in Atlantic City. Sarah was a Telephone Operator for New Jersey Bell.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Dickinson of Flowery Branch, GA; her sisters, Carol Alfonso of Mays Landing, Katherine Steelman of Flowery Branch, GA; and a brother-in-law, Job Adams of Egg Harbor Township; her nieces, Sherry Kohl of South Egg Harbor, Susan Hall of Atlanta, GA, Karen Murphy of Egg Harbor Township, Amy Speicher of South Egg Harbor and Kimberly Phillips of Flowery Branch, GA; her nephews, John Steelman of Flowery Branch, GA, and Jobie Adams of Egg Harbor Township.
Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2003 at Port Republic cemetery, 166 Clarks Landing Road, Port Republic. Donations may be made to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, 2009 Bacharach Boulevard, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Arrangements by Adams Perfect Funeral Home, Northfield.

WHITAKER, SR., EUGENE V., 72 - of Fairton and formerly of Millville, died Friday evening in the Rainbow Center, Pittsgrove. He had been in declining health.
Born in Millville, he was a graduate of Millville High School class of 1952.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Millville for 56 years where he had served on its Administrative Board. He was a member of the Trinity Brotherhood Class and the Trinity Social Club.
For 49 years, he had worked for the R.B. Whitaker Company Ice Plant of Millville as the ice delivery salesman. He will be remembered as always extending a pleasant welcome to his customers while working on the ice dock.
He was a member of the YMCA Old Timers Club and had volunteered for the Millville Fire Department's Canteen Truck.
He is survived by his wife Betty L. (Prettyman); a son, Eugene V. Jr. and his wife Rose of Rome, GA; two step grandchildren, Donald and Carcle Ratliff, both of Rome, GA; three step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Robert and his sister, Frances Seghers.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville.
There will be a viewing in the funeral home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
