Sutton, Clarence

Clarence Sutton, 84, of Homosassa, Florida, formerly of South Dennis, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2011.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Sue Ann and Bruce Wax of Laurel, Delaware; son and his wife, Bob and Sue Sutton of Seaford, Delaware; stepson Phillip Roberts of Seaford, Delaware; stepson Thomas Roberts of Rexford, Montana; a sister Edith DeSantis of Inverness, Florida; and two grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Sutton; a daughter, Bonnie Sue Sutton; a wife, Joyce; a mother, Bessie Frie; a father, Clarence Sutton; and a brother, Walter Sutton, Sr.

Born in South Dennis, New Jersey, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Missouri during World War II. He was a tractor trailer driver, owner, and operator for many years before retiring to Florida.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Union cemetery, South Dennis.

Genest, Joseph H.

Joseph H. Genest, 86, a 30 year resident of Avalon, NJ passed away on April 9, 2011. Born in Haverhill, MA to Delvina Hamel and Edmond Genest, he was the beloved husband of Anna Mae (nee Blair) who preceded him in death in 1980. They made their home in Berwyn, PA and Avalon. Joe graduated from Haverhill High in 1942 and later received a degree in Business from Bentley College in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and later had a 33 year career in Financial Management at General Electric in Schenectady, NY and Valley Forge, PA. He was a member of Maris Stella Church, volunteered in various organizations and enjoyed cooking and playing bridge.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Frank) Boyle of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Blair (Soledad) Boyle of Los Angeles, CA and Paige (Clinton) Fletcher of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Noah and Joaquin Boyle of Los Angeles, CA; brother-in-law, Bill Cipolla; and several nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his great granddaughter, Chloe Boyle.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Maris Stella Chapel, 25th Street and First Avenue, Avalon, NJ 08202 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Saints Peter And Paul cemetery, 1600 South Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064. Memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08201.

Sindle, Roberta Elizabeth

Sindle, Roberta E., 84 - of Cape May Court House, passed away on April 8, 2011. Born in Bayonne, NJ to John and Anna (nee Calwell) O'Connor, she later worked as a Home Health Aide.

She is survived by her children: JoAnn Rivera, Elizabeth Santiago, and Henry Hadraba; as well as her brother Thomas O'Connor.

Graveside services will be announced at a later date. Donations may be made in Roberta's name to Locks of Love, 2925 10th Avenue North, Suite 102, Lake Worth, FL 33461.

French, Lawrence S.

French, Lawrence S., 72 of Rio Grande died at home on April 7, 2011. Born and raised in Philadelphia he worked as a union worker for 18 years then relocated to Cape May County and worked at Cape Regional Medical Center for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Lisa French.

He is survived by his children: Lawrence French Jr., Pamela (Scott) Ireland, Sharon (Joe) Brewer, Pamela Randazzo, Dawn Peterson, and Brian (Kelly) Rozas; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Larry will be deeply missed by his family.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 12 noon at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Bergold, Mary Lou

BERGOLD, MARY LOU (HAND), 61, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

She was born in West Wildwood, NJ, the daughter of Mary Neill Hand and the late Lewis P. Hand, Sr., and was a lifetime area resident. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Neill Hand, a brother, Lewis Hand, Jr.; five sisters: Norma Holler, Lois Myers, Louise Hand-Mihalek, Elizabeth Hand and Bonnie Hand, several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, William Herbert Hand in 2008.

Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Activities Program, Courthouse Convalescent Center, 144 Magnolia Drive, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Grey, Andrew J.

Andrew J. Grey, 78, of Avalon, NJ formerly of Philadelphia and Southampton, PA passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Andrew and Dorothy (Wheeler) Grey, he moved to Avalon permanently in 1997 after summering here since 1983. He was a member of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish Maris Stella Church. He enjoyed playing golf.

Mr. Grey is survived by his wife of 58 years, Angelina (nee Simone) Grey; his children, Linda Ann (William) Franklin, Patricia Ann (Charles) Pizzichello, Donna Marie (John) Harr, and Andrew D. Grey; his brothers, James Grey, Gerard Grey, and Michael Grey; his grandchildren, Jennifer, William, Andrew, Corey, Kyle, Angelina, and Alexandra; and his great granddaughters, Brittany and Isabella.

Funeral Mass will be said on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Brendan the Navigator Parish Maris Stella Church, 50th Street and Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ 08202. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.

Jewell, Dr. Mary Louise

Dr. Mary Louise Jewell, age 76, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Monday, April 4, 2011.

She was born April 4, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Digby) Jewell. She had summered in Stone Harbor since she was three years old and moved to Cape May Court House in 1975.

She was a graduate of Columbia University School of Nursing and received Master's degrees from Arizona and Colorado Universities. She received her Doctorate from Bryn Mawr College. She was professor emeritus of Immaculata University.

Mary Lou was a gracious and generous woman who loved learning and teaching.

She also delighted in the everyday pleasures of life; a song of a bird, a new blossom, collecting shells, a good mystery book, helping people and traveling extensively.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. James Jewell and his wife, Ellie, and their family; and her friend, Felisa Brady.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Seaside cemetery, 559 Route 9 South (cemetery is located South of Ocean City Boulevard), Palermo, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter or wildlife organization of one's choice.

Lombardi, William D.

Lombardi, William D., 86, of Avalon passed away April 3, 2011 at his home in Chesapeake, VA. He had been a resident of Chesapeake for 3 years, and summer resident of Avalon for 38 years, and had retired in his home there.

Mr. Lombardi was born in Brooklyn, NY. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Marie Lombardi, and his son, William D. Lombardi, Jr. William faithfully served his country in WWII and saw action in the Pacific. He worked for Channel 13 NET in NYC for 37 years and pioneered many of the TV industry's video techniques. He was a member of Maris Stella Church in Avalon.

William is survived by his daughter, Candia Lahowetz and his sister, Ellanore Opre; two grandchildren, Julia Ann Lahowetz and Ryan Jeffrey Lahowetz; two nephews Daniel Opre and Brian Opre and their families.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. A celebration of life and funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

McFarlane, Doward Enzey

Doward Enzey McFarlane, 81, of Whitesboro, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at his home. Born in Cool Spring, Jamaica to the late Hubert and Gladys (Daley) McFarlane, he has lived here for ten years after moving from New York. He loved reading and watching world news. He was a member of St. Stephen's AME Church.

Mr. McFarlane is survived by his wife, Lerel; his children, Paulette, Claudette, Janett, Michael, Lance, Ann, Rose Marie, and Simone; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's AME Church, 2002 Route 9 South, Whitesboro. Interment will be private.

Michael, Debra A.

MICHAEL, DEBRA A., age 55, a lifetime resident of Woodbine, NJ, died on Thursday, March 31, 2011. She was born in Sea Isle City, NJ, the daughter of Jean J. (Fitzick) Michael and the late Walter F. Michael.

She was manager of the Mount Laurel Veterinary Hospital. She was a member of the Abundant Life Assemly of God Church.

Debbie was a member and past chief of the Woodbine Ambulance Corps; she loved her job and her dogs; she enjoyed "fantasy football" and was a "computer nut" . She loved all her family and most of all she loved her Lord.

In addition to her mother, Jean J., she is survived by two sisters: Karen A. Raffaele of Dennisville and Linda A. Michael of Cape May Court House and her nieces and nephew: Nicole, Samantha, Zachary, Victoria and Olivia Raffaele.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 10 am to 11 am at The Abundant Life Assembly of God Church, 44 State Highway 50, Seaville, NJ followed by services at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Debbie's family.

Miller, Adella G.

Adella G. "Grace" Miller, 86, of Lansdale, PA, passed peacefully in her daughter's and her eldest granddaughter's arms on March 31st, 2011. Born in Germantown, PA, she worked for the railroad until she married and moved to Lansdale, PA, where she worked for the North Penn School District. She spent all her summers in Avalon and Dias Creek, NJ. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Donald F. Miller in 2009.

Grace is survived by her son, Donald S. Miller and wife, Susan T. and their children Steven and Stacey Miller of Franconia, PA; and daughter Sandra G. and her children Rachel, Max and Molly Garrett of South Dennis, NJ.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9th, 2011 at 3:30pm at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, where visitation will begin at 2:30pm - Friends and Family are Welcome! Memorial donations may be made to the "Love of Linda Cancer Fund", P.O. Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260.

Seney, Sylvester T.

Seney, Sylvester T., 51 - formerly of Wildwood and Cape May passed away on March 30, 2011. Born in Maryland to Herman Seney Sr. and Gertrude (formerly Hawkins), he was called "Money" by his friends. He is survived by his daughter Qwashonia Shelton of Whitesboro.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 12 noon at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210. Viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Household of Ruth cemetery in Whitesboro.

Barrow, Jr., Robert R.

Robert R. Barrow, Jr., 35, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Born in Huntingdon Valley, he has lived here for 18 years after moving from Bensalem, Bucks County, PA. He was a chef at Bayshore Pizza in Ocean View. He enjoyed fishing and golf.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Robert and Katherine (Bevins) Barrow, Sr.; his sisters, Danielle Barrow and Kristin Copson; his grandmother, Helen Barrow; and his nieces and nephews, Johnathan Copson, Joshua Barrow, Kindness Copson, True Copson, and Gavin Copson.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
