Dolson, Lorraine J.
Lorraine J. Dolson, 72, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at North Cape Center. She was born in Camden to the late William and Jessica (Flanagan) Dolson. She retired as a meter technician for Public Service Electric and Gas Company in Moorestown in 2000 after 25 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cape May Court House.
She is survived by her sons Herbert Dolson of Cape May Court House and David (Nicole) Dolson of Goose Creek, SC; her brother Phillip of Gloucester; her sister Marian O'Connor of Cape May Court House; and her grandsons Herbert and David Jr.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Church Street and Route 9, Cape May Court House. Interment will be private.

Barrett, Esther
Esther Barrett (nee Bergman), 88, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2010 at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA she was a resident of Ocean City, NJ for over 30 years. Predeceased by the love of her life Al (Sonny) Barrett, Esther was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Kennedy (Thomas), son Michael Barrett (Nancy), granddaughter Stacy Green (Brian), grandson Randy Mistic (Melissa Jones), grandson Jeffrey Barrett (Elizabeth), grandson Joshua Barrett and six great grandchildren Austin, Presley, Daulton, Randy, Jr., Matthew and Isabell.
Graveside services will be Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Cape May County Veterans cemetery. A celebration of Esther's life will be held following services at the Egg Harbor Township Elks Lodge, 1815 Mays Landing/Somers Point Road in Egg Harbor Township.
In lieu of flowers please send all donations to Crest Haven Nursing and Rehab Center in care of the Alzheimer's Unit, 4 Moore Road, DN 619, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

O'Connell, Joan C.
Joan C. O'Connell, age 75 years, of North Cape May, NJ, died on Friday, February 19, 2010 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Anthony Lukzewski & Stella Omietanski, she has lived here for the past twenty five years coming from Philadelphia. She retired from Crest Haven Nursing Home in 1997 as a LPN after 10 years of service and was a member of St. Raymond's Church where she was also active with the parish nurses.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene in 1998. She is survived by her daughter Laurie and her husband John T. Engel of Philadelphia, two sons; Jerry and his wife Haylie-Jo O'Connell of Rhode Island & Gene and his wife Roxanne O'Connell of Philadelphia, her brother Anthony Lukas and four grandchildren; John M., Laura, Cheta & Eugene.
Memorial funeral liturgy will be said 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. Raymond's Church, Bayshore Road, Villas, NJ. There is no calling time. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to either Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or Holy Redeemer Visiting Nurse Agency, 1801 Rte. 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08210

Matthews, III, Lemuel Clarke
Lemuel Clarke Matthews, III, age 76, of Cape May, NJ, died on January 23, 2010, at home. He was born in Woodbury, NJ and moved to Cape May in 1995.
Mr. Matthews served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict in the Military Police. After his military discharge, he became a professional musician playing throughout the New Jersey area with the Matthews Trio.
In addition to being an accomplished pianist and keyboard player, he was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed living by the ocean.
He is survived by his children: Cheryl of Topeka, KS; Lemuel E. of Pasco, WA; Stuart of Blackwood, NJ and Keith of St. Augustine, FL, and several grandchildren.
At his request, there are no services and interment is private. Memorials may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 4245 N. Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.

Lisa Dafcik
Residence: Minotola, NJ
February 14, 1925 - February 28, 2008
Lisa “Betty” Dafcik (nee Drogo), 83, of
Minotola, NJ passed away on Thursday evening in
the Millville Center. Betty was born & raised in
Landisville, NJ and was a lifelong resident of
Buena Boro. She was the daughter of the late
Calogera (Carlino) & Calogero Drogo and the wife
of the late Joseph M. Dafcik who died in 2004.
Before retiring Betty was employed as a seamstress
for several of the local clothing companies. She
was a member of the International Ladies Garment
Workers Union. Betty enjoyed traveling but most
of all she enjoyed being with her family. She is
survived by One daughter: Lisa Larosa, Vld., Two
sons: Joseph J. & wife Carolyn, Vld., Glen C.
Dafcik, Galloway, NJ, Two grandchildren: Adrienne
& Joseph Dafcik

One sister: Carmella Roberts, Landisville. Her
funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on
Monday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main
Rd., Vineland, NJ where relatives & friends will
be received from 9:00-10:30 AM. Burial will be in
the Our Lady of Victories cemetery, Landisville,
NJ. For those who wish, memorial contributions
may be made to the charity of your choice.

Dorothy Gaunt
Residence: Vineland, NJ

November 8, 1920 - February 24, 2008

Dorothy Gaunt, age 87, of Vineland, passed away
during the evening of Sunday, February 24, 2008 at
the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, NJ.
Born in Hadley, PA, she was raised in Norma, and
was the daughter of the late Roy C. & Nina J.
(Falconer) Lowman. She was a resident at the West
Jersey Grove Assoc.- Malaga Camp from 1984 until
relocating to Vineland less than a year ago.
Dorothy served, with her late husband, as a
missionary, teacher & Bible translator in the
Democratic Republic of Congo from 1949 to 1984
under the African Inland Mission. She was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Newfield.
Wife of the late, Rev. Albert S. Gaunt, Jr., she
is survived by, 4 children, James C. Gaunt of
Nairobi, Kenya Carolyn Lynn Kolestar & her husband
Joseph of Harveys Lake, PA William Robert Gaunt &
his wife Carolyn of Eldorado, AR & Kenneth Roy
Gaunt & his wife Tina of Newfield, NJ; A sister,
Alice Tranter Seven grandchildren, Ruth, Karen,
Jenny, Bradley, Mary, Joseph, & James Gaunt. Her
funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Friday in the First Baptist Church of Newfield,
Catawba & Rosemont Avenues, Newfield, where
relatives and friends will be received from 9:30
a.m. until 11 a.m. Interment will follow in the
Rose Hill cemetery, Newfield. For those who wish,
memorial contributions may be made to the First
Baptist Church of Newfield-Library Fund, PO Box
624, Newfield, NJ 08344-0624. Arrangements are by
Pancoast Funeral Home of Vineland.

Idella N. Melchiorre
Residence: Elmer, NJ

May 28, 1949 - February 22, 2008

Idella N. “Dolly” Melchiorre, 58, of Deerfield, NJ
passed away on Friday in the Jefferson University
Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dolly was born &
raised in Millville and was a longtime resident of
Deerfield. She was the daughter of the late
Caroline (Morey) & Duke Hackney & the sister of
the late Ronald Shelton. Before her health failed
Dolly was employed as a comptroller for the Bob
Novick Auto Dealership in Bridgeton. She also
enjoyed riding her horses and spending time with
her family. She is survived by 5 children: Tracey
Arnesen Shannon O’Brien

John Jacobson, Jr. Dolly Brusche Carrie Ann
Melchiorre 12 grandchildren 1 brother & sister in
law: John & Joan Shelton 2 sisters: Mary & husband
Jerry Harkins Ellen Shelton As well as numerous
nieces & nephews. A memorial funeral service will
be conducted at 1 PM on Wednesday in the Maranatha
Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike,
Millville, NJ where friends will be received after
the service. Interment will be private in the Mt.
Pleasant cemetery, Millville. For those who wish,
memorial contributions may be made to the Amercian
Cancer Society, S.J. Reg., 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd.,
Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

Anthony Levato
Residence: Buena, NJ

January 29, 1921 - February 20, 2008

Anthony “Tony” Levato, 87, of Buena, NJ passed
away on Wednesday morning at home. Mr. Levato was
born in Franklin Twp & was a longtime resident of
Malaga prior to moving to Buena. He was the son
of the late Maria (Branco) & Joseph Levato. Mr.
Levato was a member of the Teamsters Union Local
#676 for 54 yrs retiring from Gardners Express in
Hammonton. Anthony was also a part time farmer
and was the former owner of the Lamp & Shade
Center of Vineland. He was a charter member of
the Malaga Vol. Fire Co. His greatest love was
the watching the Phillies, Eagles and watching his
grandchildren & great grandchildren grow as well
as gardening. Survived by his wife of 65 yrs:
Carmella (nee Longo). 4 Daughters: Mary Dayton
Concetta &* Henry Davis Kathy & Jeff Mickle Joann
& husband Bradford Foster. 1 son: Anthony & wife
Kathy Levato. 14 Grandchildren & 15 great
grandchildren As well as several nieces & nephews.
His funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM
on Monday in the Queen of Angels Parish, Church of
St. Michael, 504 West Ave., Minotola, NJ where
relatives & friends will be received from 9:30 to
11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart R.C.
cemetery, Vineland. For those who wish, memorial
contributions may be made to the Holy Redeemer
Hospice, 1801 Rt.9 North Swainton, NJ 08210.
