CICERO, RUSSELL S., 92 - of Vineland, passed away quietly at home on Sunday evening. Russ was born in Mt. Morris, NY and was a longtime Vineland city resident. He was the son of the late Joseph & Frances Gerace Cicero. Russ was a barber for many years and had owned & operated a barber shop on Landis Ave. in Vineland. He also assisted his wife in the operation of Mainiero's Jewelry Store. He attended the Memorial Presbyterian Church & also the Sacred Heart RC Church. He was a member of the Diamond Social Club. He was an avid golfer, traveled widely & enjoyed being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 52 yrs. Anne Cicero (Mainiero) Several nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews & great great nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, where relatives & friends will be received from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Millville. For those who wish memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Presbyterian Church, 714 S. 7th St., Vineland, NJ 08360.

DESIDERI, ALFRED PETER 72 - of Melborne, Fla., and formerly of Vineland passed away on Friday in the Indian River Center, FL. Al was born in Phila. PA & had resided in Vineland from 1955-2003. He was the son of the late Alfredo & Cleonise DeFiore Desideri.
Mr. Desideri retired from the US Air Force as a Staff Sgt in 1962. He also served in the US Army as a Tank crewman. In his younger years he worked for his father in his tailor shop in Philadelphia and later owned & operated his own tailor shop in Vineland for several years. Al also worked as a Human Services Tech for the State of NJ at the Ancora State Hospital for 20 yrs. He enjoyed fishing & traveling.
He is survived by his wife: Helen (Cheeseman) One daughter: Linda Desideri, Vineland, one son & daughter in law: Louis & Denise Desideri, Vineland, one brother: Mario & his wife Veronica Desideri, Holland, PA, two sisters: Emily & husband Bill Huntoon, Reno, NV; Quinta Sabatina, Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Friday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, NJ where relatives & friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Burial with military honors will be in the Cumberland County Veterans cemetery, Hopewell Twp., NJ.

MOLKENTHIN, JANE, (nee Connoli) 76 - of the Elmtowne section of Winslow Township, died April 4, 2004 at Virtua Hospital in Berlin. Born in Scottdale, PA, she moved to Elmtowne over 8 years ago. She retired from Beckman Industrial Parsippany, as a Lead Technician with over 20 years of service. Beloved mother of Elizabeth Franchetti and husband Daniel of Hammonton, dear sister of Edward Connoli of Ravenswood WV, and Robert Connoli of Greensburg, PA, loving grandmother of Christina, Juliana and Daniella Franchetti. Viewing Wednesday, 10:00 am at St. Martin de Pores Church, S. Egg Harbor Rd, Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at the church. Burial Greenmount cemetery. LEGGETT, RAYMOND 72 - of Woodbine, died Monday April 19, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Hospital Cape May Court House. Born in Camden, Mr. Leggett resided in Woodbine since 1945. He will be missed by friends and the staff at Woodbine Developmental Center. Services will be Thursday April 22, 2004 at 10:00 from the Chapel at Woodbine Developmental Center. Burial to follow service in Head of the River cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ. Arrangements are by the Langley-Loveland Funeral Home of Tuckahoe.

BROOKS, LEROY, 74 - of Newtonville, on April 14, 2004. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gertrude Brooks; loving children, Leisha Martin and Eric Brooks; a sister, Mary Browne; two grandchildren, Christian and Christine Brooks; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services: Thursday, 12 noon at the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Rt. 54, Newtonville, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment: Atlantic County Veterans cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements by Carl Miller funeral Home, Camden and Lawnside.

PARKS, ISAAC W. 84 - of Chatsworth, died April 18, 2004. Born in Retreat, he lived most of his life in Burlington Co, and the last 50 years in Chatsworth. Ike was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the Burlington Co. Mosquito Commission. Husband of the late Beatrice, beloved father of Rose Bush & William Parks both of Browns Mills, Joanne Mullen of Columbus, Barbara Decamp of Egg harbor City, Sandra Kirk of Browns Mills and Raymond Parks of Southampton, brother of Bertha Augustine of Browns Mills, grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 12. Funeral Service will be held 10:30am Wednesday from The Lankenau Funeral Home, 370 Lakehurst Rd., Browns Mills. Interment Chatsworth cemetery. friends may call 9 to 10:30am Wednesday at the funeral home.

STACK, THOMAS J., 91 - of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in this area since 1986 after moving from Cherry Hill. He was a retired mail carrier for the United States Navy during World War II, delivering mail to the troops. He was a life member of the American Legion. He and his late brother, Jack, co-owned the Manoa Beverage Company for ten years and the Shelter Haven for twenty five years. He is survived by his sister, Sister Mary Borgia of St. Joseph's Villa, Flourtown, PA; three nieces, Nancy Lomonaco of Cape May Court House, Janet Nichols of West Chester, PA, and Gail O'Dea of Cape May Court House; great nephews, John Lomonaco, who loved his uncle and was thought of and loved as a son by Mr. Stack, Patrick O'Dea, and Richard Nichols; and a great niece, Gwen Accardi; and Barbara Nicholson, who lovingly cared for him for ten years.
Funeral Liturgy will be said at noon on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 99th Street and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, where friends may call at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross cemetery, Yeadon, PA. Memorials may be made in the form of Mass Cards or to a favorite charity.

HAND, ALAIRE G., 86 - of Northfield, died on April 24, 2004. Born in Hazelton, PA. she has been a resident of Northfield for nearly 50 years. Alaire was last employed at Fischer's Florists in Linwood and her love of flowers carried over to her own home which was a showcase of color and beauty in the area.
She was the beloved wife of the late A. Floyd Hand and the loving mother of the late Richard. She will be sadly missed by her dear friends Lynn and Paul Wertzberger as well as her many neighbors and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m. at Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, Tilton Road and Infield Ave., Northfield. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery, Pleasantville. A Life Celebration Home.

HOLMES, LOREN W. "BUBBA" 65 - of Somers Point, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2004, after a recent diagnosis of cancer. He was surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Born in Millville, on March 12th 1939 to Loren D. Holmes & Mildred Key Holmes. Grandson of the late Edward & Elanora Key of Vineland and Joseph & Floy Holmes of Millville.
Loren was a lifelong South Jersey resident and a caring family man. He was a poet, and a raconteur who was known far and wide for his laughter, wit, jokes and his eclectic sense of humor. He made loyal and lifelong- friends wherever he went in his journey through life. He always showed generosity and kindness to those he cared about most. He loved living within sight of the Great Egg Harbor Bay.
Loren was a member of the Ocean City High School class of 1957.
Loren was a Veteran in service to the US Army, where he served with the elite 101st Airborne Division known as the "Eyes Behind the Lines". He was a patriot, an accomplished soldier and a paratrooper who made nearly 100 jumps. He served in Texas, Korea and Germany after bootcamp at Fort Dix. Loren was one of the few American soldiers to earn German parachutist wings where he also graduated the 10th Special Forces Ski School. He was an active member of the Nabb-Leslie Post of the American Legion in Millville.
When he left the military, he returned to the place he always considered his home, the Jersey Shore, bringing with him the love of his life, Jutta "JJ" Holmes to make a home and raise a family there. Together Loren & JJ had three children: daughters Sandra & Jaime and son Steven.
For many years, Bubba was a bartender in Somers Point who became an unforgettable local legend.
In 1994, Loren moved on to a new phase in his career. He helped his brother Bob in his detective business. As a team, together they conducted over 1,100 raids, confiscating millions of dollars worth of counterfeit products in New York's Chinatown district and in other areas of that city. The brothers worked together until Loren retired late last year.
Loren leaves behind to cherish his memory, "JJ" Holmes of Somers Point, daughter Sandra Holmes Stanton & husband Ed of Northfield, son Steven Loren Holmes of Los Angeles, CA. and daughter Jaime Joy Holmes of Sherman Oaks, CA.
He was a doting Opa to his two granddaughters, Loryn Elizabeth and Hanna Elyse Stanton. He shared pride in the artistic accomplishments of Ed's son, Eddie Stanton Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father, Loren D. Holmes and will be sadly missed by his mother, Mildred. K. Cramer of Ocean City. brother Joseph Edward "Ted" Holmes and wife Joyce of Boone, CO., sister Carol Holmes Keene and husband Larry of Temecula, CA, and his brother Robert L. "Bob," Holmes and wife Sherrie of Linwood. He also was loved by his Aunt Ruthann Grassman of Millville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society the American Cancer Society or the Millville Army Airfield Museum (MAAF). Donations for the MAAF can be sent in memory of Loren's father who was a founding member of the Millville Flying Club to: Millville Army Airfield Museum, 1 Leddon Street, Millville Municipal Airport, Millville, NJ 08332.
Visitation will be from 7pm until 9pm Wednesday evening at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 am.

BROOKS, CELESTA MOORE - of Pleasantville, on April 23, 2004, at ACMC Mainland Division Pomona. Celesta was born on May 14, 1924, in Darlington, South Carolina to the union of Leslie and Louise (Moore) Cossom. The family relocated to Philadelphia, PA, where she attended the public schools system and graduated from William Penn High School. She was employed there at the Government Depot for ten years.
Celesta married James Brooks and in 1956, the relocated to Pleasantville. In 1960, Celesta tested for employment with the Federal Aviation Administration, and worked with the U.S. Aviation Department for nineteen years. Celesta retired on July 17, 1980.
She will be remembered as a member of the staff at Marco's Children's Store in the Pleasantville Shopping Center.
Celesta joined the Mount Zion Baptist church in 1977 where she sang with the Senior Choir, (serving as president of the group for many years), The Golden Voice of Praise, and served on the Board of Trustees. In 1990, Celesta became the Financial Secretary of the church, a position she held until her illness.
Celesta leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Jackie Becher, one granddaughter, Angela Becher, and five great grandchildren, all of West Palm Beach, Florida, a loving and devoted aunt, Gloria Samuel ("Scoop") of Pleasantville, one brother, Theodore Cossom, two sisters, Ruth Jackson and Gloria Gray, and one uncle, Frederick Moore, all of Philadelphia, PA. A loving and devoted Godson, Harvey Drew Dawson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Service of Love and Comfort will be held in her honor on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 6 p.m., at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 353 South New Road & Marple Ave. in Pleasantville. Family and friends may view from 4 p.m. until service time. Interment: Atlantic City cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home, Inc., 414 South Main St., Pleasantville.

ANDINO, CARLOS O. "AHMED" 48 - of Atlantic City, departed this life on April 25, 2004 at the AC Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY he attended the public schools and relocated to Washington D.C. in 1986. He was employed as a Dispatcher for the Fire Company in Washington and relocated to AC in 1995. Ahmed was a member of the local Islamic community and attended Al Taquwa Masjid in AC. He is survived by: his companion, Elaine Berrio of AC; his daughter, Crystal Vasquez-Berry, of Rosedale, New York; a sister, Norris Vasquez of Peblo Vega, Puerto Rico; a brother, Sydney Wilson, of Paris, France; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and fine friends. Janazah Services will be held on Wed. April 28, 2004 at 11am at Mikal's (609) 344-1131 Funeral Parlor, Inc. 1033 Baltic Ave., AC.

MILLS, MARIE J. (nee Giuffre), 76 - of Hammonton, died Sunday, April 25, 2004 at Kessler Hospital. Born in Bargaintown, she lived in Melborne, Fl for 22 years and Franklinville, before moving to Hammonton in 1998. She retired from Harris Co. in Melbourne, FL. Marie was predeceased by her husband Richard, brother Basil Giuffre and sisters Carolina Jupin and Anna Codario. Surviving are her son, Kenneth Smith and his wife, Elaine of Franklinville, sister, Rose Benedetto and her husband Michael of Hammonton; loving grandmother of Patricia Smith of Clayton, Ryan and his wife, Tina of Gloucester Twp. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday, evening 7-9 pm at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. 3rd St., Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, 9:30 am St. Joseph Church, 3rd and French Streets, Hammonton. Burial Greenmount cemetery.

INMAN, OLIVER PERRY, 89 - of Manahawkin, passed away April 25 at the ACMC Pomona with his family at his side. Born in Surf City in 1914, one of eight children of John R. & Amanda Corliss Inman. Mr. Inman graduated from Barnegat High School and began work as a carpenter. He served in the 5th Army Air Corps from 1940-1944 in both Australia & New Guinea. Upon his return home, he met and married the late Jane Birdsall from Barnegat and in 1947 they built their home in Manahawkin on Old New York Road. Perry joined Local 2018 Union of Carpenters and helped to build projects all over NJ and locally. He worked on Six Flags Great Adventure, Echelon Mall, the Nuclear Power Plant and Southern Ocean County Hospital, and numerous private homes in the area. Mr. Inman served Stafford Township as a member of the First Aid Squad, the Board of Education, and later as Grand Marshal of the Founder's Day Parade. He was an active member of Frederick W. Born American Legion Post 511, where he served as historian for many years. He was also a member of the Stafford Historical Society and avidly supported Stafford Italian American Club by attending spaghetti dinners each Tuesday. Perry took a great joy in conducting trolley tours of Surf City where he educated and entertained visitors with the tales of the history of the area. In 1993, Perry was awarded the Hurley Conklin Award at the Barnegat Bay Decoy & Gunning Show in Tuckerton. Perry's stories and accounts of local history have often been written in local newspapers and in "The Stafford Chronicles", A History of Manahawkin. Perry loved fishing, boating, watching the changing moods of Barnegat Bay and sharing stories and meals with friends and family. Perry will be remembered by his son, Kevin P. Inman and daughter in law, Mary Beth; daughter, Cynthia L. Graham and son in law, Don; three grandchildren, Amanda and Adam Graham and Elizabeth LaPosta, Elizabeth's husband Paul, and Perry's great grandchild, Vincent, and Perry's beloved cat, Happy-Go-Lucky. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 30 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd., Manahawkin, where friends will be received after 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Old Baptist cemetery in Manahawkin. WRIGHT, MICHAEL JOSEPH, 32 - of Egg Harbor Township, died suddenly in his home on April 30, 2004.
Born in Atlantic City, Michael was a lifelong South Jersey resident. A graduate of Absegami High School, he was employed by NAFAC. An avid baseball and hockey fan, Michael's true love was his family.
Michael leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his two daughters, Lauren and Paige Wright of Absecon, his brother and best friend Anthony Robbins of Ohio, his precious and devoted mother whom he both relied upon and adored, Deborah Esposito, long time manager of Sid Brook & Son Pleasantville Furniture and her husband Robert now of Ohio, his grandmother and her husband , Margaret and Bill Santo and his uncle, Billy Santo & his family.
Michael's beautiful eyes and sweet soul are at peace now in God's House. He will be deeply missed by all who cared so completely for him.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 12:00 Noon at Lowenstein Funeral Home, 58 South Rt. 9, Smithville, where family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.

GONZALEZ, JOSE A. "Chiqui", - of Pleasantville, died suddenly on Saturday, May 1, 2004.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on October 22, 1951, to Mr. & Mrs. Juan and Maria Gonzalez, he spent his childhood years in Puerto Rico before his parents migrated the entire family of ten to Atlantic City.
"Chiqui" grew into a hard and dedicated worker, starting off in a coat factory in the early 60's in Atlantic City, then giving his services to the Sabor Restaurant as a cook. In between his hard working days, he was blessed to meet the love of his life, Felicita Lugo, of whom he gained a wonderful lifelong friend and loving wife. Together they brought forth four beautiful children and four grandchildren. He bought his family their first home in 1985 in Pleasantville. Shortly thereafter, he began working at Pete's Imports as an auto mechanic for 10 years until branching out on his own.
"Chiqui" was a loving, caring and dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend who never once stopped to put himself in front of others when they were in need. His selflessness earned him many friends and many blessings.
He loved his native jibaro music, and loved special occasions and holidays. He took pleasure in the simple things of life and just spending time with family and friends. His dedication as a father was unsurpassable and his love for his wife shown to all, oh so obvious, and all though he will be missed, we celebrate and rejoice that now the Lord has called His sheep home to do his work - as dedicated as he was on earth; look out Heaven!
Leaving to follow him are his wife, Felicita Lugo; his children, Naomi Lugo, Maritza Gonzalez, Jose Gonzalez, Jr., and Noel Gonzalez; grandchildren, Robert Evans, Jr., Tatyana Evans, Josselyn Gonzalez and Noel Gonzalez, Jr.; his sisters and brothers, Iris "Elva" Jordan and Judith "Tere" Rodriguez, both of Pleasantville, Victor "Kaki." Gonzalez of Ventnor, Jaime Gonzalez of Vineland, Jose E. "Titi" Gonzalez of Atlantic City, William Gonzalez of Vineland, Nelson Gonzalez of Pleasantville, Noma Gonzalez, Mayra A. Gonzalez, Elizabeth Gonzalez and Juan A. Gonzalez, all of Puerto Rico.
Mass of Christian Burial will, be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at St. Peter's RC Church, 25 W. Verona Avenue, Pleasantville. A viewing will be held 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at St. Peter's RC Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery, Mays Landing. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home, Atlantic City.
