HOGAN, HAIDEE ELIZABETH (nee Williams), 85 - of Sea Isle City, died Saturday morning at her home. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Emily (McGovern) Williams.
A U.S. Army Veteran, Haidee was very proud of the fact that she served her country as a WAC for the Air Corps where she earned the rank of Private. Haidee later earned her LPN and was employed by St. Mary's Hospital and later for St. Charles Boromeo Seminary before retiring after several years of service in Nursing.
A longtime resident of Sea Isle City, and member of St. Joseph Church, she enjoyed being a member of the community and was always willing to watch over the houses of her neighbors during the winter months.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Francis, three sisters, Claire Hogan, Mary Hamilton, Delores Zuccarini, and two brothers, John and Edward Williams, Haidee is survived by her son Michael and wife Lisa of Philadelphia, her grandchildren Tristan and Tara Hogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph RC Church, 44th and Landis Ave., Sea Isle City, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in her memory to the Sacred Heart Free Home, 1315 W. Hunting Park Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19140. Arrangements entrusted to the Dinan Funeral Home of Ocean View.

COPPLE, PAUL, 84 - of Atlantic City, died Monday, August 9, 2004 at Shore Memorial Hospital. Complete funeral arrangements will appear in the Wednesday edition of the Press. Arrangements by the Gormley Funeral Home LLC, 2606 Atlantic Avenue, Atlantic City.

HEININGER, ANNA MARY "Boots" 76 - of Palermo, on August 7, 2004 at Atlantic City Medical Center - Mainland Division, Pomona.
Mrs. Heininger was a retired waitress of the Embers restaurant and other York restaurants. She was an avid animal lover.
She was predeceased by her husband, James W. "Bud" Heininger, her parents Edward and Rosella (Stewart) Stover.
She is survived by her step son and wife - Gregg M. and Linda B. Heininger of Palermo, grandson, Brandt M. Heininger of Palermo, he beloved dogs, Dixie and Peanut, brother and wife John and Jean Stover of York, PA, sister, Betty Eaves of Baltimore, MD, sister and husband Terry and Joseph Darinsig of York, PA and other siblings.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am at the Holy Saviour cemetery, 3420 Susquehanna Trail, North York, PA on Thursday, August 11, 2004. Family and friends are requested to arrive at the cemetery at 9:45 on Thursday morning. Officiating clergy, Rev. Robert M. Gillelan, Jr. Pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, York. Burial will be in Holy Savior cemetery. There will be no viewing.

RODEN, KENNETH A., 60 - of Ocean Club Condo, Atlantic City, passed away Friday, July 9, 2004.
Ken was the former owner of J & K Produce from 1970 to 1976 and for many years was a jitney driver and member of the Atlantic City Jitney Association. He was born in Philadelphia, attended Germantown Academy and graduated from Atlantic City High School. He also had 2 years of Forestry at Bruckner College in Holton, Maine.
Kenny was very active in the 12 Step Recovery program and was an avid jazz fan, fisherman, and hunter. He was a kind, considerate and loving person who always put others before himself.
He is survived by his son Alvin of Somers Point; a brother John M. Roden (Eugenia), of Ventnor; a niece Jody Lynn Trenchard of Nashville, TN; a cousin Russell Cornell of Philadelphia, and his companion Dianne Wright.
A Mass will be held 11a.m. Thursday, July 15 at the Church of the Ascension, Kentucky and Pacific Ave., Atlantic City, where friends are invited to call beginning at 9:30a.m. Burial will be private. William A. “Butch” Widmer Jr., age 88, of Somers Point, NJ, died Thursday, October 13th, 2005 at his home with family by his side.
Born in Philadelphia and an Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Widmer raised his family in the Germantown section of the city. In 1966, he moved to Linfield, PA and was a plant manager at Publicker Distillery. He retired to his beloved shore home in Somers Point, NJ in 1980. Mr. Widmer, with his unfailing good humor and colorful storytelling, will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Widmer, his daughter, Suzanne VanHorn, and his dear friend, Roberta Hetrick.
He is survived by a son, William A. Widmer, III, of Evenston, IL, grandchildren Michael, Christopher, Alison, Emily and William IV, and great-grandchildren Rachael and Emma.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 10:00am at The Church of the Epiphany in Royersford, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 2 Braddock Drive, Somers Point, New Jersey 08244, or to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.

DiVINCENZO, GUS J. 86 - of Sea Isle City, died Saturday afternoon at the Vineland Veterans Home, Vineland, NJ. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio he was the son of the late Michele and Conchetta (lacobucci) DiVincenzo.
Gus grew up in Southwest Philadelphia, where he worked in his parents' grocery store. A graduate of West Philadelphia High School, Gus later served his country as a Sergeant in the US Army aboard the Hospital Ship St. Olaf during WWII. During which he served in both the European and Pacific Theaters.
Following his service time, he took over the ownership of his parents grocery store, which he operated for several years with his wife, Anne. He was later employed and retired from Nofer's Wholesale Meats, after which he moved to Sea Isle City in the 1970's and devoted himself to civic activities and wood working. A member of the Knights of Columbus Madonna Maria Council, he was also a founding member of the Sea Isle Town Watch Town Pride Program. Gus was well known in the area for the altar furniture he made for several local churches, notably St. Joseph's Church in Sea Isle and Our Lady of the Angels Church in Cape May Court House.
Preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne (nee: Costello), he is survived by two sons; Tim and Marybeth DiVincenzo and their children, Tommy and Mary Kate of Vienna, VA, David DiVincenzo and Barbara Terhall and their daughter Ida of Tarreytown, NY; his daughter Susanne DiVincenzo and her son, lan Sullivan of Linwood; along with one sister, Rose Stephano and her sons, Charles and Scott of Sicklerville.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00PM at the Dinan Funeral Home, 565 Sea Isle Boulevard, Ocean View. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 10:30AM at St. Joseph RC Church, 44th and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City. The interment will be made in Holy Cross cemetery, Yeardon, PA. Arrangements entrusted to Dinan Funeral Home, Ocean View.

ROBERTSON, GLENDON E. JR., REV. MSGR. 76 - of Mullica Hill, died peacefully on August 14, 2004 at Holy Name of Jesus Rectory, Mullica Hill. He was born in St. Louis, MO to his late parents Glendon E. Sr. and Jean M. (nee Kahman). Msgr. Glen was a priest of the Camden Diocese for 47 years. He completed his undergraduate studies at LaSalle College (1949). He received both his Masters and PhD degrees from Catholic University. He attended the Seminary and was ordained a priest at American College in Louvain, Belgium June 30, 1957. Fr. Rob was on the faculty of Gloucester Catholic High School and was the Principal at St. James High School, Carneys Point, and Holy Spirit High School, Absecon. He later ministered as the Secretary of Education and Editor of the Diocesan newspaper, the Catholic Star Herald. Fr. Glen spent eighteen years as the pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Gibbsboro, during which time the present church was constructed. He was appointed Prelate of Honor by Pope Paul VI on October 11, 1974 and retired in 1998. At the time of his death, Fr. Glen was being cared for at Holy Name of Jesus Rectory by his family, Rev. Anthony DiBardino, Rev. David Grover and Samaritan Hospice.
Msgr. Glen is survived by two sisters, Mary Jean and the late Robert H. Brickley, of SC and Lucille M., of FL a brother, John J. and wife Margaret, of SC, and ten nieces and nephews.
In accord with his wishes, a viewing will be held from 5:30 to 8 pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Andrew the Apostle Church, Kresson-Gibbsboro Rd. and RT. 561, Gibbsboro, NJ, on Wednesday August 18, 2004. He also asked that the Final Prayers of Commendation and interment be private. The Family requests that in lieu flowers donation be made to the upcoming Building Expansion Drive at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 120 United States Ave., Gibbsboro, NJ 08026 or Samaritan Hospice 5 Eves Drive Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053. Arrangements by Giosa Funeral Home West Berlin (856-767-4075).

MORGAN, THELMA 87 - of Vineland, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004 in Genesis Eldercare Network in Vineland. Born in Virginia.
There are no known living survivors. She is survived by her long time friends Sandra & Jim Buganski. Burial will be private. Rone Funeral Service, Vineland.

BROOK, SYDNEY, 93 - of Boynton Beach, Florida, departed this life on August 12, 2004 to begin a new adventure. Born in Philadelphia, PA, to David and Bessie Brook on March 18, 1911, he attended Temple University but left school during the depression to work with his father in the used furniture business. He met and married Shirley (nee Schecter) on December 24, 1941. Sydney joined the Army during World War II and served in the South Pacific as an officers chef until the end of the war. With his family they moved to Pleasantville in 1947 where he opened a new and used furniture shore that started as D. Brook and Son that still operates today as Sid Brook and Son Pleasantville Furniture. After retiring in 1971, he moved to Florida with his beloved wife, Shirley, to whom he was married for 63 wonderful years. Sydney was an avid boater and fisherman. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors. He learned to play golf in his 70's and his most memorable hole-in-one came at the age of 74. He was the eldest member of Justice Lodge F&AM of Atlantic City. He loved being surrounded by family and friends and treasured the many vacations and cruises he took with his family and grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Shirley, he leaves behind loving family, son, Norman, daughter-in-law, Marlyn and daughter Beverly Lieberman of Delray Beach FL; six grandchildren; his adoring and beloved Beth and Ross Lieberman, David, Bryan, and Joseph Brook and Dayna Grober, and one great grandson, Andrew Grober. Although he will be missed by all who knew him and loved him, its the many great memories we hold so dear to us that will keep him in our hearts forever.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 18th at 2:00pm at Rodef Sholom cemetery in Cardiff. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sydney's memory may be made to RNS Cancer and Heart Fund, 7 Baycrest Ct., Margate, NJ 08402 or to the charity of choice. Arrangements by Roth-Goldsteins' Memorial Chapel, Atlantic City.

MATTEI, JR., PETER L., 72 - beloved husband of Gail, died Sunday afternoon at Cooper Hospital in Camden. Born in Jessup, PA he lived in Richland, before moving to Washington Township in 1972. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union for 30 years and for the past 20 years was employed by the State of NJ as a code enforcement officer. He was a member of Washington Township Senior Bridge Club, an avid skeet shooter, dancer, musician and loved the beach and life and also following his grandchildren's sports activities. He was pre-deceased by a brother Valentino and is survived by his wife Gail (Romanini); two sons Peter III & wife Cathy of Turnersville, Brian & wife Sharon of Franklinville, a daughter Michele & husband John Supczenski of Washington Township; grandchildren Peter L. Mattei, IV, Brett Justin Mattei, Morgan Blair Supczenski, Brian Christopher Mattei, Taylor Ann Supczenski; brother & sister-in-law Jack & Sandra McKillop and sister-in-law Pearl Mattei Lanzi. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 500 Greentree Rd., Glassboro at 12 Noon on Wednesday. A viewing will be held in the church from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon. The burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hurffville. Arrangements are by Barbetti Funeral Home in Millville. Memorial contributions to Cooper Hospital Foundation, Coronary Care Unit, Camden, NJ.

CARRAFIELLO, MICHAEL R., 61 - of Hammonton, died Saturday, August 14, 2004 at his residence. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived in Sweetwater before moving to Hammonton 23 years ago. He was a retired Real Estate Appraiser for Margaretten Mortgage Corp. of Cherry Hill. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the Artisan Order of Mutual Protection, Past Commodore of the Greater Wildwood Yacht Club and a former member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers. Beloved husband of Rosemarie (nee Cappuccio). Devoted father of Marissa and Michele. Dear brother of the Honorable Matthew Carrafiello (Linda) of Philadelphia, PA and Rose Marie DiJulia (Steve) of Aldan, PA. Loving uncle of Alessandra and Matthew Carrafiello. His faithful dog, Molly. Viewing Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday after 8:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. 3rd St., Hammonton. McCLOSKEY, SARAH FRANCES, 72 - of Villas, died on August 15, 2004 at Jefferson Hospital, Phila., PA. Born in Philadelphia, she formerly lived in Croydon, PA. before moving to Villas in 1976. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Albert in 1988. Surviving are her children, William of Villas, Warren of Croyden, Edward of Croyden, Gary of Shippensburg, PA, Arthur of Fishing Creek, Frank Robert and Fred of Villas, Brenda Straughn of Galloway Twp., and Diana Jordan of Villas, 25 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three will be a viewing on Thursday from 10-11am at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May, followed by funeral services at 11 am. Burial will be in the Cape May Co. Veterans cemetery. Donations in her memory are requested to: the Leukemia Society of America, 219 N. Black Horse Pike, Mt. Ephraim, NJ 08059.

THOMAS, JAMES A. "Ted", 61 - of Wildwood, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia to the late Francis and Julia (Wilson) Thomas, he had lived here for 20 years after moving from Washington, D.C. He is survived by his companion, Marianne Hindsley: his step sister, Carol Registre; and his step brother, Peter. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaside cemetery, Palermo.

IALENTI, ALFREDO, 99 - of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at the Eastern Shore Nursing Center. He was born in Monacilioni, Campobasso, Italy on August 1, 1905, the son of Nicola and Victoria Iosue Ialenti. He was a retired orthopedic shoemaker having worked for the Veterans Administration. Mr. Ialenti was an Army veteran of WWII and fought in the Battle of Normandy. He was a devoted and faithful member of Our Lady of the Angels Church here. He was a member of the Thurston Elmer Wood Post 198 of the American Legion. He served as grand marshall at many parades; received awards for activities at the Magolia Day Care Center; was a avid dancer and was awarded a silver cup for his dancing talent. He was 38 years of age when he entered the Army and was referred to as "Pop" by the young recruits. Mr. Ialenti lived in Staten Island, NY until he moved here 17 years ago. He is survived by three daughters: Victoria Gentile of Staten Island; Tina DiCera of Delray Beach, FL, and Lina N. DiMarzio of Cape May Court House; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 75 years, Filomena, on December 31, 2002. Funeral Liturgy will be said on Friday, August 20, 2004, at Noon at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Garden State Parkway and E. Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, where friends may call at 11 am. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Magnolia Day Care Center Activities Account, 144 Magnolia Dr., Cape May Court House, N.J. 08210.

BAUMANN, MARIA (MARY), 74 - of Smithville, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at her home with her family at her bedside, Mary was born in Newark where she attended and graduated from West Side High School. After marriage to her husband Richard (Rick), the couple moved to Berkeley Heights. They lived there for 35 years and raised three sons; William, Mark and Eric. Mary was employed by Remington Rand Corp. in Newark, Summit Bank in Berkeley Hts. and Chubb Corp. in Warren Township. She and her husband moved to Annandale in Hunterdon County in 1995 and then to Four Seasons at Smithville in 2000. Mary was very active in a number of committees and activities in the Four Seasons community. Good eating and shopping were her "things".
She is predeceased by her parents, Maria and Gesualdo DiCataldo as well as by four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her brothers, Angelo and Charles and by a sister, Lucy. She also leaves Mark's wife, Maria and granddaughter, LoriAnn; Eric's wife, Jennifer and granddaughter, Zoe as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call at Wimberg Funeral Home, 211 E Great Creek Rd., Galloway (609-641-0001) on Wednesday August 18 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and Thursday August 19 from 10 to 11 AM. Services are to follow Thursday visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Atlantic City Medical Center Hospice, P.O. Box 1626, Pleasantville, NJ 08232-6626 (609-272-2424).
