Merelyn Sanchez, 56 of Vineland, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the SJ Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Cayey, Puerto Rico, she moved to Vineland in 1984.
She was a registred nurse in Puerto Rico at Caguas Regional Hospital. Merelyn enjoyed going to the casinos and shopping, watching scary movies and her soap operas. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. Merelyn also loved her God and reading the bible.
She is predeceased by her brother, Hector L. Diaz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10am at the Iglesia Presbiteriana Hispana Bet-El 410 S. 4th Street Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6pm to 9pm and again on Wednesday morning from 9am to 10am ALL OUT OF THE CHURCH. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Genaro Vazquez - The gates of heaven have opened for our beloved father, Genaro Vazquez. He passed away suddenly on March 10, 2012. Born on January 20, 1944 in Comerio, PR, he came to the states in 1959, where he first moved to Camden, NJ. He then moved to Wilmington, DE and then Vineland, NJ where he spent the last 11 years of his life.
Genaro was a dedicated man of God who preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to everyone he encountered. The salvation of lost souls was his priority. He often ministered in prisons and to the sick.
He will be remembered for his gift of song, and his ability to play a classical guitar in a manner that ushered in the presence of the Lord. Music was a gift he cherished and used to the very end.
He is survived by his five children: Luz, Ruthy, Yolanda, Eliezer, and Genaro Jr., his daughters and sons in law, Melissa, Byron, Melissa, and Neftali, and ten grandchildren, Chad, Amber, Devin, Mikaela, Madelyn, Gabrielle, Lanie, Blake, Ava and Bryce. He also leaves behind siblings from Puerto Rico, and many nieces and nephews. We know he is enjoying endless heavenly worship. We will see him again.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am at the Chestnut Assembly of God Church, 2554 E. Chestnut Ave.,Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm and again on Friday morning from 9am to 10am ALL OUT OF THE CHURCH. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.

Margaret Curliss

Margaret Curliss, 84 of Vineland, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at the SJ Regional Medical Center. Born in Millville, she was a resident of Vineland for many years and a graduate of Millville High School.
She was a homemaker and a self-employed child care provider. Margaret enjoyed dancing, singing especially Paul McCarthy songs, and latch work. She also loved animals, especially her dog Max.
She volunteered at the Alzheimer Daycare at Spring Gardens. She is predeceased by her husband John "Jack" Curliss in 1970, 2 sisters, Rosalie Langley and Palma Canglin.

2 daughters: Jackie Pierson and husband Ron of Vineland

Helen Elizabeth Cruz, 59 of Vineland, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family in her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Vineland and daughter of the late Horace and Grace (Ridgeway) Gross. She is also predeceased by a brother, Herschel Ridgeway.
Survived by four children, Donna Gray and husband Herb, William A Hess IV and wife Estrella, Greg Cruz and Christina Cruz, 3 grandsons, Ryan Hess, Bronson W. "Luke" Carney, Jr., and Isaac A. Hess, 1 sister, Jeannette Creamer, nephews, Bruce Creamer and Bryan Creamer, and uncle, Joseph Ridgeway.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 9am to 11am at the funeral home. Casual attire is accepted.

Joyce Federici, 81 of Vineland, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the SJ Regional Medical Center, Vineland. Born in Golden, Colorado, she was a lifelong resident of Vineland and a graduate of Vineland High School, Class of 1949.
She was a homemaker and was a dance instructor at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Vineland. She played the piano and played for the Singing Ambassadors. Joyce loved animals especially her cats and traveling with her sister-in-law, Grace Federici.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Mario "Fred" Federici of Vineland

Kyong "Sadie" Clarke, 76 of Vineland, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at her late residence. Born in Korea, she had been a resident of Vineland for the past 40 years.
She was employed by Fisher & Porter in the electronic department and enjoyed her flower garden, cooking and being with her grandchildren.

Dominick A. Compotaro, 75 of Pittsgrove Township, died May 4, 2012 at home. Born in Vineland, he was a lifelong Vineland resident.
He was employed by Kimble Glass Company in Vineland as a glass blower for over 30 years. He was a bartender at the Recreation Club, North Italy Club, Landis Country Club, Sons of Italy, and Wayside Inn.
Dominick was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Brothers of the Bush. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking especially at his crab parties, camping with his family and friends, singing, Civil Air Patrol, and reading. He also enjoyed cooking with the Breakfast Incorporated.
He is predeceased by his parents, Ralph Compotaro and Antoinetta (Parave) Compotaro, daughter, Barbara Compotaro, brothers, Ralph, Nicholas, Carmine, Angelo Compotaro, twin boys and a brother 6 months old, sisters, Millie Hurst, Marguerita Compotaro, Josephine Day, and Twin sisters.

Catherine D. Betty
Date of Death: May 8, 2012
Catherine D. Betty, 97 of Vineland, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland. Born in Newark, NJ she moved to Cecil in 1949, then to Buena in 1959 and was a Vineland resident since 1980.
Catherine worked at Prudential Insurance Company as an arranger for over 15 years. She also worked for Kimble Glass Co. and Meteor Glass Co. With her late husband, Henry they owned and operated the Buena Village Store on Route 40 in Buena from 1965 to 1980.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and being an active member of St. Michael's and St. Isidore's Church. Catherine is predeceased by her brother, Steven Deo, 2 sisters, Terry Matalonie and Virginia Foranatto.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 11am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, St. Michael's Church, Minotola. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart cemetery, Vineland. Friends will be received on Monday at the church from 9:30am to 10:30am. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.

Daniel Calderon, 38, of Vineland, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012 at his residence.
Born in Vineland, Daniel worked as a cab driver for Yellow Cab for 14 years. He loved watching boxing events, spending time with his family, and was an avid Phillies fan. Daniel was known for hanging out at the pool room and at Abreu's Market on the Boulevard.
Daniel was predeceased by his father Ezequiel Calderon.
Survived by his mother Cristina Rivera, his daughter Zailiz Calderon his pride and joy, two brothers, Jose "Bazooka" Soto, Jose Alfredo Soto all of Vineland, four sisters Carmendelia Calderon of Brooklyn, Elizabeth Gonzalez, Janette Gonzalez, and Maria Soto all of Vineland, and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday morning at 10am at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow at Siloam cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home and again Wednesday morning from 9-10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
