James L. Goff
November 25, 2009

James Goff, 88, of Pluckemin, N.J., died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at King James Nursing Home in Middletown.
Born in Upper Freehold Township. He lived in Cream Ridge for many years before moving to Pluckemin, N.J.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
James was a carpenter who was a member of the carpenter’s union local #2250.
He is predeceased by his wife Irene; his mother and father, James Goff and Mary (Southard) Goff; he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, James L. Goff,Jr. and Cheryl of Neptune, N.J.; David W. Goff and Linda of Leesburg, Fla. And close friend, Constance Foley.
Funeral service will be held 1: 30pm, Tuesday at Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt. Burial will follow at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery , Provinceline Road, Arneytown, N.J. Visitation will be 12: 30pm until the time of service at the funeral home.

Charles Luker, III
November 24, 2009

Charles “Charlie or Spanky” Luker, III, age 54, of Browns Mills died Tuesday, November 24 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly. Born in Mt. Holly, he was a lifetime area resident.

Charlie worked in the road maintenance department of Pemberton Township for 34 years.

He was predeceased by his mother, Viola (Emmons) Luker. Charlie is survived by his fiancée, Dorothea McNivens of Browns Mills, three daughters, Kathleen Luker of Wrightstown, Brenda McCormack and husband Sean of Princeton, Maine and Charlene Ahing and husband William of Browns Mills; his father, Charles Luker, Jr. of Browns Mills; a brother, Mark Luker and spouse Penny Nichols of Browns Mills; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Faith Rahner and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28 at 11: 00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will follow in Odd Fellows cemetery in Pemberton Borough. Calling hours will be on Saturday morning from 9: 00 to 11: 00 AM at the funeral home.

Elizabeth F. "Betty" Hopkins
November 19, 2009

Elizabeth F. “Betty” Hopkins, age 90, of North Hanover Twp. died Thursday, November 19 at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton. Born in Mount Holly, she was a longtime area resident.

Betty was a retired telephone operator for Bell Telephone at Fort Dix and Mount Holly. She was a member of the Jacobstown Methodist Church and also their organist for 20 years, she was a member of the Wrightstown Senior Citizens, the Young at Heart Club in Cookstown and the Pemberton Senior Citizens Breakfast Club.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Leon Hopkins and her brother, Maurice Fort. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. & Francine Hopkins of Laurel Springs, NJ and Larry and Barbara Hopkins of North Hanover Twp.; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Earl Akins of Jobstown; three brothers, Joe Fort of Pemberton, Kenneth Fort of Lancaster, PA and Donald Fort of Allentown, NJ; a sister, Doris Croshaw of Wrightstown; six grandchildren, Sherri Carter, Kelly Lannom and husband Jay, Kimberly Hopkins, Robert Hopkins, Christopher Hopkins and Isabella Pericoloso; four great grandchildren, Daniel Craft, Alexandra Craft, Emmaline Carter and Theo Lannom; a long time friend, Harold Beck of Moorestown and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 23 at 11: 00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will follow in the Jacobstown Baptist cemetery in Jacobstown. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9: 00 to 11: 00 AM at the funeral home.

Lanier W. "Len" Adams, Jr.
November 18, 2009

Lanier Wilson “Len” Adams, Jr., age 63, of Willingboro died Wednesday, November 18 at Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a resident of Willingboro for over 40 years.

Len was a Sr. Payroll Specialist with Paychex in Marlton for 9 years and previously worked as a QC Technician for Occidental Chemical in Burlington for 23 years. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Viet Nam war as a cryptographer from 1966 to 1969. Len was an avid golfer with a 9 handicap and a member of the Rancocas County Club in Willingboro. He played golf with his father every weekend until his father’s death.

Len was predeceased by his parents, Anne M. Harvey-Adams and Lanier Wilson Adams, Sr. and by his grandparents James Wesley Adams and Martha (Mattie) Parks. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Deleana A. (Walker-Whitted) Adams; a son, Scott Christopher Adams of Willingboro; an aunt, Gloria Petrasek of Saddlebrook, NJ; his cousins, John Petrasek of Saddlebrook, Lyle H. Petrasek and wife Debbie Paolino-Petrasek and children, Ashley and Kelsey (who was Len’s god-daughter) of North Brunswick, NJ and Ivy Harvey-Curto of Apollo Beach, FL and daughter, Joanna (Jody) Curto; his mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Whitted and companion John L. Reilly of Lewes, DE; a sister-in-law, Georgia K. Hackett and husband Timothy Hackett of Verona, PA; a niece, Kathleen Hackett-Hurst and husband Jeffrey J. Hurst of Los Angeles, CA; a nephew, Michael P. Hackett and wife Carli Painter-Hackett and their children Breanna and Alexa of Pittsburgh, PA; a brother-in-law, Kevin A. Whitted and wife Kim D. Marter-Whitted of Conway, NH; nephews, Roger Whitted of Conway, NH and Eric Whitted and wife Jennifer Harrington-Whitted of Molokai, Hawaii and their children, Katelynn and Meredith and a niece, Amy Whitted-MacPherson and husband Joshua MacPherson on Conway, NH.

Funeral services for Len will be held on Tuesday, November 24 at 11: 00 AM at the Chapel of the BGWCD Veterans Memorial cemetery , 350 Provienceline Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562 with burial to follow in the cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com) by 10: 30 AM on Tuesday to drive in procession to the cemetery.

Dorothy M. Popp
November 14, 2009

Dorothy M. Popp, age 74, of Whiting died Saturday, November 14 at her daughter’s residence in Browns Mills surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hudson, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Browns Mills before moving to Whiting 10 years ago.

Dorothy was a cook for the Pemberton Township Schools for 23 years.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Michael Popp in July of 2009 and a sister, Mabel Pugsley. She was the loving mother and best friend of daughter, Misty Kilgore and husband Brian of Browns Mills and daughter, Debra Otting and husband Gene of Tennessee and she was a beloved and devoted grandmother and great grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening, November 17 from 6: 00 to 8: 00 PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will be private.

Linda J. Ference
November 13, 2009

Linda J. (nee Trimble) Ference, age 57, of Columbus died Friday, November 13 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Bristol, PA she was a resident of Columbus for 3 years and previously of New Egypt and Robbinsville.

Linda was a longtime employee in the accounting department of Mercer County Community College in West Windsor.

Linda was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Ference, Sr. in 2006 and her father, Milton Trimble. She is survived by a daughter, Amy McCulley of North Wildwood; a son, Steven J. Zahirny of Hamilton; her mother, Eva Trimble of Cape May; two grandchildren, Zachary Zahirny and Jonathan McCulley; her step-children, Robert & Regina Ference, Jr. of PA, Michael Ference of PA, Kevin & Lisa Ference of Florida and Michele & Craig Redden of Florida; a son-in-law, John McCulley of Lower Twp., NJ; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Debbie Trimble of Fairless Hills, PA, Henry & Patti Trimble of Morrisville, PA and Joe & Joan Trimble of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 16 at 12: 00 Noon at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1733 South Broad Street in Trenton. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9: 00 to 11: 00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt (www.tilghmanfh.com). Burial will be private.

Ernest R. Willitts
November 8, 2009

Ernest R. Willitts,78, of New Egypt, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. Born in Burlington, N.J., He was a long time resident of Allentown,N.J. before moving to New Egypt five years ago.

Ernest was a U.S. AirForce veteran. He was a carpenter for Princeton Nurseries in Allentown for many years before retiring.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Willitts of New Egypt,N.J. Erik and Ann Willitts of Cream Ridge,N.J. and Chris and Julie Willitts of Forked River,N.J.; seven grandchildren, Michelle, Mark II, Christopher, Jr., Eric II, Meagan, Gary and Jamie.; five brothers and 3 sisters, Jerry Willitts of Browns Mills, N.J, Ray Willitts of Florida, Benny Willitts of Indiana, Wesley Willitts of Pemberton,N.J. and Bobby Willitts of Texas, Beatrice Clayton of Browns Mills, N.J., Margaret Blizzard of Wilmington, North Carolina and Ruthann Lind of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12,2009 at 11: 30am at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street, New Egypt, N.J. 08533 (www.tilghmanfh.com). A viewing will be Thursday from 9: 30am until the time of service at the funeral home. Internment will be private.

Victor Romashkin
October 21, 2009

Victor Romashkin, age 81, of Amelia Court House, VA died Wednesday, October 21 at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, VA. Born in Homel, Russia, he was a resident of Virginia for the past six years and was formerly of New Egypt, Lakewood and Plainsboro, New Jersey.

Victor was a retired fork lift mechanic with Ferden Forklift in Newark.

Victor is survived by his wife, Jadwiga “Janet” Romashkin; a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and Dave Shadow of Moseley, VA; a son, Alexander Romashkin of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Brooke and Michael Shadow of Moseley, VA and a brother and sister in Russia.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26 at 11: 00 AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, 52 Main Street in New Egypt, NJ (www.tilghmanfh.com), with burial to follow at Our Lady of Czestochowa cemetery in Doylestown, PA. Calling hours will be on Monday morning from 9: 00 to 11: 00 AM at the funeral home.
