Marshall, Edgar Butch

Edgar "Butch" Marshall, 50 of Asbury Park died on June 6 at home. He was driver for JBI Transportation in Neptune. He was a graduate of Long Branch High School and attended Miami Dade Community College in Miami, FL. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Born in Miami FL, he lived in Long Branch prior to moving to Asbury Park.

Left to mourn are his mother and step father, Selena Williams and Leroy Williams Sr.; four sisters, Victoria Queenan, Philadelphia, PA, Barbara Rainey, Bronx, NY, Paula Moore, Los Angeles, CA and Anita Bryant, Asbury Park, NJ; two brothers, Ronald Moore, Pittsburgh, PA and Leroy Williams, Jr., Linden, NJ; and two aunts, Marian Overby and Myrtle Jones both of Long Branch, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Funeral procession will leave from the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch, NJ on Friday morning at 10:15 am. Funeral services with military honors will be held at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Memorial cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ at 11:30 am.

Martin, Virginia Ginny

Virginia "Ginny" Martin age 71, of Long Branch died Tuesday, December 23, at home. She was a salesperson for Macy's, Eatontown before retiring several years ago. Born in Long Branch, she had been a life resident of the shore area. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Martin in 1998 and a son Michael Martin in 1978. Surviving are two daughters, Kaylynn Martin, Long Branch; Adriane Martin, Bloomfield; a niece, Virginia Applegate; a granddaughter, Michele Martin; a daughter in law, Mary Martin; a grandniece and a grandnephew. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of the arrangement.

Martin, Sr., Stephen J.

STEPHEN J. MARTIN SR., 61, of NEPTUNE, died Saturday, July 19, surrounded by his family at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was the proprietor of Steve's Mobile Homes, Neptune, for 15 years, retiring in 2002. He was employed with Freeman's Bakery, Belmar, for 25 years. He was a member of the Be-Bop Cruisers, Inc., and was well known as "The D.J. Man, Crusin' with the Doo Wopps," S and B D.J.'S. Born in Neptune, he was a life resident of the Shore area.

He was predeceased by his brother, William Martin, in 1988. Surviving are his wife, Kay Carayianis Martin; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen J. and Diane Martin of Long Branch; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lori and Jim Davis of Brick, and Lisa Martin of Neptune; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Joyce and Al Witt of Eatontown, and George Carayianis of Florida; a sister-in-law, Betty Martin of Neptune; five grandchildren, James, Nicholas and Brittany Davis, and Lauren and Michael Martin; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Damiano Funeral Home, corner of Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with funeral service at 11 a.m. Internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Child Assault Prevention Project, PO Box 6805, Freehold, NJ 07728.

Malady, William E.

William E. Malady of Williamstown, died Saturday at the Health Care Center at Washington, Washington Twp. Age 78 years.

Mr. Malady was born in Philadelphia, PA and has been a resident of Williamstown since 1959.

He worked 30 years at the US Naval Ship Yard in Phila., PA as an electrician, retiring in 1985. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3352 in Williamstown, Disabled American Veterans and St. Mary's Parish Family. He was the first customer at Geets Diner in Williamstown.

Devoted husband of Frances M. (nee Fife). Devoted father of Timothy, his wife Lori and Linda Schneeweiss and her husband Hank. Loving grandfather of Devyn and Katie. Dear brother of Anna Mitchell, Mary Madden and Theresa Frizzle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Wednesday at St. Mary's RC Church, Main St. & Carrol Ave., Williamstown, where a viewing will be held one hour prior. Interment St. Mary's cemetery, Williamstown. Arrangements are made by BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Jersey Chapter, 11,000 Lincoln Drive West, Suite 7, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Mandakas, George

MANDAKAS, on August 29, 2002, George J. of Mt. Laurel NJ. Age 65. Beloved husband of Marilyn G. Mandakas (nee Geller). Loving father of 3 children, Carole A. Mandakas, Betsy J. Allemand and John W. Mandakas. Also survived by 1 sister, Lu Kosaitis and 4 grandsons, Calvin, Ian, Jeremy and Quinn. From 1960-1962, Mr. Mandakas served in the US ARMY. He was a Computer Sales Manager working with Ceridian/IBM for 30 years, retiring in 1992 and an active member of the Fellowship Golf Association, Ramblewood Country Club, Mt. Laurel. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday Sept. 15 from 2-3pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton where a Memorial Service will be held at 3pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Mt. Laurel EMS Station 362 3824 Church Rd. Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054

Mansfield, Mary C.

Mary C. Mansfield (nee Owens) of Williamstown, died Sunday at the Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford. Age 84 years.

Mrs. Mansfield was born in Phila., PA and raised in Wildwood. She worked as a clerk for Lit Brothers in Philadelphia, Agresta Car Dealership and 80 Computers in Williamstown. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Mater Creators #1808 in Williamstown.

She is the wife of the late Arthur. Predeceased by her sister Jeanette Hagen. She is survived by her sister, Rose Brocker; nephew, John Brocker and cousin, William J. Jones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM, Thursday at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Main St. & Carrol Avenue, Williamstown, where a viewing will be held one hour prior. Interment St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Springs, NJ. Arrangements are made by Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, Williamstown.

Mansueto, Faye Farese

Faye Farese Mansueto, age 92 of Red Bank died Friday, April 2 at home. She was a bookkeeper at Wiss & Company for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of the Long Branch Ladies Auxiliary, BPO Elks, lodge 742, where she served as president and was honored as Lady of the Year. Born in Newark, she lived in Bloomfield before moving to Red Bank 25 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Mansueto in 1996, a brother, Raymond Farese and two sisters, Olga and Inez Farese. Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Joseph F. and Barbara Mansueto of Middlesex; a brother Albert Farese of Bloomfield; two nieces, Barbara Farese of Edison and Theresa Farese of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Joann Rette and Thomas Reffler and a great grandson, Frank Rette.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., corner of Third, Long Branch on Sunday, April 4, from 1-5 pm. Funeral, Monday, 9:00 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial offered at 10:00 am at St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church. Eatontown. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Memorial donations are requested to Long Branch Elks, 150 Garfield Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

McClain, Mary G.

Mary G. McClain, 84, of Green Creek, NJ, died on Friday, April 23, 2004, at her home. She was born in Cape May Court House, NJ on May 5, 1919, the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth Bethel Garretson. She was a member of the Green Creek Community Church. She was a graduate of Middle Township High School and attended the University of Pennsylvania. She was a volunteer at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital for many years and also at the Cape May County Museum.

She is survived by her daughter: Sally Beth Barry and husband, Thomas of South Dennis, NJ; sister: Corabel Wallace of Avalon, NJ; grandchildren: Clinton K. Stocker and wife, Cindyann, of Green Creek, NJ, Richard D. Stocker of Avalon Manor, NJ, Dana E. Barry of South Lake Tahoe, CA, and Patrick M. Barry of South Dennis, NJ; and great grandchildren: Suzanne M. and Craig C. Stocker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years and a farmer, Forrest and her daughter, Mary Lou Stocker.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Redeemer Visiting Nurse Agency, 1801 Rte. 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

McCurry, Betty Lou

Betty Lou McCurry, 63, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. She was born in Marshall, NC to the late Willis and Rellie (Rigsby) Cutshall and moved here in 1992 from Asheville, NC. She was a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church in Asheville, NC. She formerly worked at South Cape Nursing Home.

She is survived by her children, Randy McCurry (Paulette McClure) of Belleplain, Betty Lashley (Joe) of Green Creek, Eddie McCurry (Dee) of Millville, and Patricia Brown (Greg) of Sparta, NC; her companion, Jake Moore of Cape May Court House; her sister, Dorothy Mayshura of Woodbine; her brother, Frank Cutshall of North Carolina; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and her "adopted daughter" Regina Curbett. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael.

Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201.

McDermott, James R.

JAMES R. MC DERMOTT, 59, of LONG BRANCH, died Sunday, Jan. 4, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a property manager at Wentworth Group, Eatontown, for two years, retiring a year ago. He was also a retired splicing foreman at Verizon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a parishioner of the Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Long Branch eight years ago.

He was predeceased by his parents, James A. and Anna Clancy McDermott. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Eileen Hamann McDermott; a son, James P. McDermott of Bayonne; two daughters, Melanie Ann St. Pierre of Hoboken, and Kristin Eileen McDermott of Long Branch; three sisters, Maryann McDermott-Cowan of Washington D.C., Clancy McDermott of Hunting Beach, Calif., and Kathleen McDermott of Brooklyn; and a grandchild, James Patrick McDermott II.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Interment will follow in Holy Cross cemetery, Brooklyn.

McElroy, Ruth Alice

Ruth Alice McElroy, 80, of Swainton, died on Saturday, February 9, 2002 at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. She was born in Philadelphia and lived in Connecticut before moving here in 1980. She was retired from the D.M. Read Retail Clothing having worked in the Sales and Marketing Department. She was active volunteering at many Geriatric Care Centers in Connecticut. She was active in Altar Guilds in Episcopal Churches throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut. She was a defense worker during World War II at the Kaiser Fleet Wings and recently had worked at the Windrift Restaurant in Avalon. She was a graduate of Rider College.

She is survived by her husband of fifty six years, Hugh E.; her son, Hugh E., Jr. of Avalon; and her three grandchildren that she helped raise, Hugh III, Amanda, and Patrick McElroy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call at 11:00 a.m. Interment is private. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Research, 11,000 Lincoln Drive West, Suite 7, Marlton, NJ 08053-3431.

McAllister, William H.

McALLISTER, on August 31, 2001, William H. of Folsom, NJ, formerly of Phila., PA. age 88 yrs. Husband of the late Catherine A. (Nee Tracy) McAllister. Beloved father of Kathryn Gross of Voorhees, NJ and William J. McAllister of Collingswood, NJ. Also survived by his three Grandchildren Christopher, Tracy and Brian and also 6 Great Grandchildren. He is the Grandfather of the late Edwin J. Gross Jr. Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family. Funeral directed by the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME Marlton, NJ (856-983-1005). McCall, Kathleen D.

KATHLEEN D. McCALL, 68, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Thursday, March 4, at Monmouth Care Center, Long Branch. She was a bartender at the Blue Dolphin, Long Branch, for nine years, retiring in 1996. Born in Newark, she was a Shore resident since 1964.

Her husband, Fred G. McCall, died in 1992. Surviving are two sons, Steve and Fred, both of Long Branch; two daughters, Terry Dutzik and Linda McCall, both of West Long Branch; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Fran Carroll of Hazlet; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Fred Brandt of North Brunswick; and five grandchildren, Belinda, Corey, Chantel, Bianca, and Margie.

Relatives and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, with a service at 1 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave. at Third Avenue, Long Branch. Interment will follow in White Ridge cemetery, Eatontown.
