Edna C. Shaw, 89, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Crest Haven Nursing Home. She was born in Tuckahoe, NJ, and was a lifetime county resident. She was a member of the Green Creek United Methodist Church. She was formerly employed by the Lincoln Laundry in Wildwood and retired from the Crest Haven Nursing Home as laundry supervisor.

She is survived by three daughters: Calra Caprioni and husband, Jacob of Williamstown, Millicent Morris of Cape May Court House, and Priscilla Tomlin and her husband, Philip of Cape May Court House; five sisters: Dorothy Tozer of Florida, Myrtle McGonigal of South Carolina, Wilmina Banks of Florida, Blanch Wiegand of California, and Mary Corsoe of Williamstown; eleven grandchildren: Rosemarie Whitaker, Nancy Harrell, Kathleen Needelman, Joann Socona, David Caprioni, Carolyn Caprioni, Jacob Caprioni, Jr., Donna Repici, Deborah Ann Bianchino, Philip Tomlin, Jr., and Karen Reardon; and twenty one great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at 2:30 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the Cold Spring Presbyterian cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, South Jersey Chapter, 11000 Lincoln Drive West, Suite 7, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Seymour, Fred A.

Fred A. Seymour, 82, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Merrimac, MA, he moved here 50 years ago. He was a carpenter for Union Local 1743 of Wildwood. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House, and a retired member of the Cape May Court House Volunteer Fire Department and Middle Township Rescue Squad.

Mr. Seymour is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Urqhart); his sons, Fred Seymour, Jr. and his wife, Clara Marie of Cape May Court House, and David Seymour and Norma Potter of Virginia Beach, VA; his daughters, Sylvia Supplee of Cape May Court House, Gloria Geisinger and her husband, Dave of Dennisville, and Janet Schubert and her husband, Bill of Rio Grande; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Seymour; grandsons, Shawn Supplee, Wes Geisinger, and Sebastian Seymour; and son-in-law, John Supplee.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Middle Township Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 331, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Shandrey, Joseph J.

JOSEPH JOHN SHANDREY, age 83, of Long Branch died Sunday, December 28, at home. He was a Senior Instructor in the Applied Communications Division of the Officers Department at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 335 and the Nocturnal Adoration Society. He was president of the Holy Name Society at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church where he served as head usher at the 9:00 am mass. He was a parishioner of Saint John the Baptist Church, Long Branch. He served his country honorably in the US Army and was among the first U.S. troops to serve overseas during World War II. He served as Master Sergeant with the 121st Signal Radio Intelligence Company. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps in January 1944 and eventually attaining rank of First Lieutenant. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Born in Miners Mills, PA, he had been a resident of the shore area since 1937.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Dilione Schandrey, a daughter Mary Schandrey Nugent of Middletown, a sister Helen Stanley of Maryland and 1 grandchild, Colleen Schandrey.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, corners of Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch on Friday, January 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Saturday, January 3, 9:00 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Memorial donations are requested to the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center c/o Monmouth Medical Center, 300 2nd Ave. CW6, Long Branch, New Jersey 07740.

Selmi, Jr., Louis

Louis Selmi, Jr., of West Wildwood, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2004, at his home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Louis, Sr. and Edna (Allen) Selmi. He summered here for many years prior to moving permanently eleven years ago from Cherry Hill, NJ. He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church of Stone Harbor, NJ. He was a retired sales representative for the Desimone Cadillac Agency. Mr. Selmi served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict having received the Bronze Star, Occupation Medal Japan, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean SVC Medal, and the Overseas Bar. He was active in various military organizations as a director of the National Korean War Veterans, the VFW and American Legion Posts of Maple Shade, NJ, and the Disabled Army Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Marion F. (Amies) Selmi, sons: Louis, III and William A., granddaughters: Shannon and Elizabeth Selmi; and grandsons: William, Jr. and Andrew Selmi.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th and Third Av., Stone Harbor, NJ. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Rd., Absecon, NJ 08201.

Sestito, Cecilia M. Russo

Cecilia M. Russo Sestito, age 85 of Long Branch died Sunday, July 4, at St Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Before retiring, Mrs. Sestito worked as a toll collector for the Garden State Parkway and for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Born in Asbury Park, she had lived in Long Branch since 1944. Mrs. Sestito was predeceased by beloved parents, John and Philomena Russo, her husband Frank Sestito who died in 1974, her son in law Raymond Dumas in 1976 and her sister Ann Martone in 1999.

Surviving are a daughter and son in law, Mary Rose and Howard Kingsley, Long Branch; a son and daughter in law, Vincent Jim and Adele Sestito, Point Pleasant; 3 brothers, Anthony Russo, Whiting; Joseph Russo, Deal; former Senator John F. Russo, Toms River; 2 sisters, Theresa Freda, Neptune City; Carol Marzarella, Lakewood; her aunt, Rose Chiafullo, Long Branch; 2 grandchildren, James and his wife Danielle Sestito, Neptune City; Michael Sestito and his fiance Nichole Douglas, Shark River Hills; and 2 great grandchildren, Taylor and Jeremy Sestito, Neptune City; she was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and MaMa to many others.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave, corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 pm. Funeral Friday, July 9, at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass at Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Interment will be at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to St Barnabas Hospice Care Center CW6, 300 Second Ave, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

Seddon, Edward J.

Edward J. Seddon, 38, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the Cooper Medical Center, Camden, NJ.

He was born in Cape May Court House, and was a lifetime resident here. He was employed by Rid-Pest Control of Pleasantville, NJ for the past twelve years. He enjoyed gardening and his pets especially Jackie and Bernard.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather: Maria and Burt Schubert of Del Haven, NJ; father and stepmother: Robert Seddon, Sr., and Carlye of Goshen, NJ; brothers: Robert W. Seddon, Jr., of Dias Creek, NJ, Burdell D. Schubert and wife, Carol of Vineland, NJ, Steven Schubert and wife, Priscilla of Norfolk, VA; sister: Nicole Schubert of Dias Creek, NJ; stepsisters: Carrie Cautrell of Woodstown, NJ, Chriss Glenn of Mantua, NJ; stepbrother: Randall Waterbury of San Diego, CA; companion and best friend: Andrew Ortiz; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at 11:00 AM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the New Asbury Methodist cemetery, Swainton, NJ.

Scully, Jr., Thomas "Bo"

Thomas "Bo" Scully, Jr., 67, of Green Creek/Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at the Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Cherry Hill, NJ. Born in Sayreville, NJ, he has lived here since 1992, coming from South Amboy, NJ. He was a retired Supervisor at the Middlesex County Sewarage Authority, a Marine Vateran, a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, the Villas Fishing Club, and the Wildwood American Legion Post #184.

He is survived by his parents: Thomas and Muriel Scully, Sr.; sons: Thomas Scully, III and Ken Wahler; daughters: Stephanie Spisak, Ellen Banerjea, Susan M. Scully-Hill, Ph.D., CRC, and Alicia Wyzykowski; brother: Lawrence; sister: Muriel Sullivan; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, East Mechanic St. and Garden State Parkway, Cape May Court House. There is no calling time. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery, Cold Spring, NJ. Mass cards are appreciated.

Scollante, Andrew J.

Andrew J. Scollante, age 100 of ReLaGrangeville, NY, formerly of Long Branch, died Tuesday, April 6 at Lutheran Care Center, Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a foreman at Bendix, Allied Signal Corporation for 25 years, retiring 25 years ago. He was an Opera singer performing in many Opera's in New York. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Born in New York City, he lived in Long Branch before moving to New York 5 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Bertha Scollante in 1981. Surviving are two sons, Edward H. Daverso of New York and Andrew Scollante, Jr. of New Mexico; a daughter, Deanna Panarello of New York and 7 grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 10, at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport. Damiano Funeral Home of 191 Franklin Ave., corner of Third, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Scott, James W.

James W. Scott, 92, a local area resident, died on Friday, February 6, 2004, at the Victoria Manor. Mr. Scott was born in Steelton, PA, and had previously lived in Plainfield. He also lived at the Angelsea Beach Colony and the Villas. He served in the US Army during World War II. He formerly worked for the New Jersey Central Railroad and then worked for Col. Joseph A. Aer in Governor's Island as a butler and chauffeur.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Emilie in 2001.

He is survived by his daughter: Nina Scott of Maple Shade; grandson: Raymond Scott; great grandson: Quinton Scott; brother in law: Eugene Allen of Columbia, SC; cousins: Bertha Kennedy and Rosetta Paige of Harrisburg, PA and Francine Bean of New York City; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver who he thought of as a daughter: Evelyn McClurkin of Burleigh, NJ.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2004, at 10:00 AM at the Mount Olive Baptist Church, E. Atlantic Av., Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may call at 9:00 AM. Interment is in the William Howard Day cemetery, 801 Lincoln St., Steelton, PA at 3:00 PM. Memorilas may be made to the Mount Olive Baptist Church, 46 E. Atlantic Av., Cape May Court House, NJ. 08210.

Schwacke, Jacqueline L.

JACQUELINE L. SCHWACKE, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday, Jan. 28 in Eatontown. She was employed as a secretary for Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, retiring in 2002 after 50 years of dedicated service. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident there.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Marie Schwacke; and a brother, William D. Schwacke. Surviving are a sister, Mary E. Schocket of Long Branch; three nieces, Terry Flood, Jackie Flood, and Patricia Martin; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

All services will be private. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Schwarz, Barbara P.

Barbara P. Schwarz, age 51 of Long Branch died Tuesday April 27 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. She was office manager for Prown's Home Improvement Store, Red Bank, working there for twenty -five years. She was a parishioner of The Roman Catholic Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. Born in Newark, she was a resident of Long Branch for the past three years coming from Monmouth Beach. Mrs. Schwarz was a 1971 graduate of Red Bank Regional High School. Taught CCD classes for ten years at Precious Blood Church, was an advid beach goer at the little Monmouth Beach Club. She was predeceased by her father Frank Ferrugia.

Surviving is her husband of twenty eight years, George Schwarz, two sons, Justin M, Shane R. both of Long Branch. Her mother Connie Cortese Ferrugia, Long Branch, a sister Diane Ferrugia, Atlantic Highlands. Four nephews, one niece and one great grand niece, and her faithful dog Samantha Ann.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Thursday April 29, from 7-9 pm. Funeral Friday April 30 at 8:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Precious Blood 9:30 am.

Schubert, Daniel R.

Daniel R. Schubert, 40, of Villas, died on Thursday, August 2, 2001, at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. He was born in Cape May Court House and was a lifetime area resident.

He was a driver for the Coggins Waste Management Company and a member of the Villas Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr. Schubert is survived by his mother, Ruth E. Schubert, and his sister, Lisa A. Schubert, both of Villas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Methodist cemetery, Goshen.

Memorials may be made to the Crohn's Disease Foundation, 367 East Street Road, Trevose, PA 19053; the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201 or the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
