Schumann, Mildred "Milly" Gilligan

Mildred "Milly" Gilligan Schumann age 69 of Long Branch died Monday, December 22 at her daughters home in Havertown, PA.

She was employed by Fort Monmouth, Eatontown for 24 years before retiring in 2002. She was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. Born in Jersey City, she was a resident of the Long Branch area for 37 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Schumann in 1992 and her sister Ann Dunn in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Karen and Kevin Schumann Scoles of Havertown, PA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Susan Schumann of Fair Haven, Scott and Yvette Schumann of Chester, VA, and seven grandchildren, Drew, Graham, Ryan, Elizabeth, Devin, Hayden and Reid.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch on Friday January 2 from 2-4 7-9 pm. Funeral on Saturday January 3, at 9:30 am with service to begin at 10:30AM. She will be entombed with the husband Robert at Woodbine Mausoleum following the service. Donations in her memory are requested to VNA of Central Jersey (Hospice), 141 Bodman Place, Red Bank, NJ 07701.

Schroeder, Jean

SCHROEDER, JEAN (nee Torre), on March 11, 2004 formerly of Red Bank, NJ. Age 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Survived by four nieces: Delores Ikonomou, Grace Lunardo, Eliett Ernst and Elaine Casper, three great nieces: Patricia Kilcoyne, Cheryl Hogan and Michelle Davis, and four great nephews: George Barker, Leo Casper, Steven Casper and Mitchell Casper. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd. in Marlton, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Fairview cemetery in Middletown, NJ.

Scholtz, Edward

Edward Scholtz, age 81 of Oakhurst died Monday, March 29, 2004 at home. He was an Army medic during World War II. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War and transferred to the Air Force were he spent the next 20 years managing military clubs. Upon retirement in 1967 he accepted the post of club officer at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, were he stayed until 1972. For the next 20 plus years, he spent in retirement. He kept himself busy as a volunteer at Monmouth Medical Center in various posts. He was very active in the local senior citizen organizations and he also ran many senior bus trips. He received numerous awards for his volunteer work such as the Monmouth County Volunteer of the Year, Monmouth Medical Clara Field Award and the Monmouth Park Community Service Award.

He was a parishioner of St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. Born in Newark, he lived in South Dakota before moving to Oakhurst in 1967. He was predeceased by his wife Wilma G. Wickmen Scholtz in 2000. Surviving are a son Edward of Oceanport; a daughter, Barbara Miller of Morganville; three grandchildren, Kimberly Kennedy, Paul Miller and Alexandra Scholtz; two great grandchildren, Sean and Rhiannon; a brother Robert of California and two sisters Hilda Schmidt of Mountainside and Elizabeth Preusse of Wayside. Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third), Long Branch on Thursday, April 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral, Friday, 8:30 am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 9:30 am at St. Jerome Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. Entombment Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge. Donations are requested to the wonderful people at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740.

Schocket, Mary E.

Mary E. Schocket age 83 of Long Branch died Tuesday, February 3, at home. She was a salesperson at Buy-Rite Linoleum before retiring. Born in Lafayette, Indiana she was a life resident of the shore area. She was predeceased by her Jacqueline Schwacke in January of this year and a brother, William Schwacke. Surviving her are three daughters, Terri and Jackie Flood, both of Long Branch and Patricia Martin of CA; 5 granddaughters, of which one she raised, Melissa Braunschweig of N.C. and several great grandchildren.

All services will be private. At the family's request, donations can be made to St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Monmouth Medical Center, 300 Second Ave., CW6, Long Branch, NJ 07740. Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.

SCHMIDT, Robert J.

Suddenly on June 23, 2004 of Maple Shade. Age 34. Survived by his mother Sandra Stone, his father George Schmidt, Jr. and his stepfather, Mark Stone. Brother of the late Steven Schmidt and the late Wendy Schmidt Caputi. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 10-11am Tuesday at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. Schairer, John D.

JOHN D. SCHAIRER, "Jack", passed away on Thursday, April 15th, 2004 at his home in Medford, NJ. He was 64 yrs. of age. Born in Woodbury, NJ, he is the son of the late Hans & Irene Schairer and has lived in Medford for the past 31 yrs. He formerly resided in Medford Lakes and grew up in Blackwood, NJ. A Registered Municipal Accountant with Bowman & Co. in Voorhees, NJ he worked with them for 36 years until 1994. A graduate of Temple University with a degree in Accounting, he was a member of the Little Mill Country Club, a former member of the Medford Lakes Jaycees and a Past Pres. Of the Registered Municipal Accountants Assoc. He is the beloved husband of Linda R. (Nee Peak) Schairer of Medford, NJ and the loving Father of Douglas J. Schairer of Oaklyn, NJ & his fiancée Kristen Koenig and Victoria R. Marshall and her husband Matthew of West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by his brother Ronald K. Schairer and his wife Linda of Blackwood, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd. Schalek, Charles M.

Charles M. Schalek, 93, of Villas, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia to the late Frederick and Mary (Mudry) Schalek, he lived here for over 40 years. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served on the USS Omaha, USS New Jersey, and USS Chevalier. He was a member of the VFW, the DAV and the Villas Fishing Club. He was a life member of the NRA and American Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed duck hunting and being a motorcycle mechanic.

Mr. Schalek is survived by his niece, Joan Schalek Holmes; his nephews, Fred Schalek and his wife, Rosemary, Bill Schalek and his wife, Jill, and Joey Schalek. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; and great great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy V. Schalek on December 16, 1985.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Casimir's Church, Woodbine. Viewing will be held on Friday, April 2, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Casimir's Church, 304 Clay Street, Woodbine, NJ 08270 or to the charity of one's choice.

Schayer, Lillian G.

SCHAYER, LILLIAN G. (nee Gawin) on May 19, 2004, of Cherry Hill, NJ. Age 95. Wife of the late Walter Schayer. Lillian is survived by: her nephew, Paul Buck of Mt. Prospect, Ill., her great niece, Chris Ferrara and her husband Louis of Somerdale, NJ and her great nephew, David Soderstrom and his wife Carolyn of Cherry Hill, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday May 22 from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 Noon at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 344 Kresson Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ. Memorial donations may be made in Lillian's name to St. Pius X R.C. Church.

Schellinger, Kenneth D.

Kenneth D. Schellinger, 69, of Green Creek, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at the home that he was born in to the late C. Newton and Gladys (Howell) Schellinger. He was a Middle Township High School graduate of the Class of 1953. He owned and operated Green Creek Farms, the last dairy farm in Cape May County. He then retired from the Local #172, Heavy and General Laborers Construction Union. He was a lifetime member of the Green Creek United Methodist Church and Sunday School. He was a member of the Cape May County Board of Agriculture; board member of the Cape May County Farmland Preservation.

He is survived by his wife: Catherine nee Harris of 45 years; son: Kenneth , Jr. and wife, Anita of Cape May Court House; daughters: Terri Kohler and husband, Mark of Dennisville, and Stephanie Kocher of Green Creek; brother: Leland and wife, Beverly; sister-in-law: Loretta Schellinger; grandchildren: Nicole and Mark Kohler, Jr., of Dennisville, Katlin and Gary Kocher of Green Creek; Kenneth Newton Schellinger of Cape May Court House; and seven step grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brothers: Millard and Ralph.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 12:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may call 10:00 to 11:45 AM. Interment will be in the Church cemetery, Green Creek, NJ. Memorials may be made to the Green Creek United Methodist Church, 63 Rte. 47 South, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Schepacarter, John P.

SCHEPACARTER, On April 22, 2004, John P. of Mt Laurel, NJ. Formerly of Folsom, PA. Age 65. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Kelly) Loving father of Charles Zierle

And his wife Patricia of Collingdale, PA, and Joseph Zierle of Mt Laurel, NJ. Devoted grandfather of Ashley, Chuckie and Dorothy Joy. Mr. Schepacarter was a Clerk at the US Postal Service in Philadelphia for over 45 years. He was a member of Marlton Assembly of God, the Tricia Meadows Association in Mt Laurel, and the Ace Coaster Club. Schibell, Margaret Williams

Margaret Williams Schibell, age 88 of Long Branch died Friday, April 9, 2004 at St. Barnabas Hospice Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch she had been a life resident. She was predeceased by her husband John C. Schibell in 1969 and a granddaughter Liza Miller in 1989.

Surviving are a son Jack Schibell of California; 2 daughters, Ann Miller and Barbara Schibell, both of Long Branch; and 3 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., corner of Third Ave, Long Branch on Monday, April 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral, Tuesday 9:30am from the funeral home with a service to begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Woodbine cemetery, Oceanport.

Schlindwein, Joseph L.

Joseph L. Schlindwein "Joe the Pro", passed away on Sunday, February 22nd, 2004 at the Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was 72 yrs. of age. Born in Moorestown, NJ, he is the son of the late Joseph and Eve Schlindwein and has lived in Medford Lakes for the past 40 yrs. moving there from Moorestown, NJ. A retired Golf Professional from Medford Lakes Country Club, he was the pro there for an unprecedented 40 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corp who served during the Korean War. He is the beloved husband of Sandy (Nee Weber) Schlindwein and the loving Father of JoAnn, Sally, Betsy, Amy and Joseph. He is also the Father-in-law of Bob & Timmy, the brother of Flossie, Eleanor, Mary, Liz and Sam and the Grandfather of Alexis, Mariah, Abigail, Jessica and Joseph. He is the brother of the late Anna. Schubert, Ruth E.

Ruth E. Schubert, 67, of Villas, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Northeast Philadelphia to the late Robert and Theresa (Arbach) Walker, she lived in this area for 45 years after moving from Philadelphia. She was a secretary for the Lower Township Elementary Board of Education. She was a member of St. Raymond's Church.

Mrs. Schubert is survived by her daughter, Lisa Schubert of Villas; and her brother, Vaughn Walker and his wife, Marie of Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius in 1992 and her son, Daniel in 2001.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Goshen Methodist cemetery. SIEBERT, HARRIET G. (nee Selle) on June 11, 2004 of Mt. Laurel formerly of Brooklyn, NY. Age 79. Beloved wife of William for 53 years. Devoted mother of Bill and his wife Lois of Voorhees. Loving grandmother of Ryan and Adam. Also survived by several cousins in Long Island, NY. Harriet, in her spare time enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 South and Evesham Rd. in Marlton. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 4 PM. Silva, Adelino R.

Adelino R. Silva age 64, of Long Branch died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at home. He was a mason at Pax Construction, Long Branch and a self employed landscaper. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch and a member of the Portuguese Club. The greatest joys in his life were family and his love for gardening. He was also an avid soccer fan. Born in Lapa Furada, Batalha, Portugal, he lived in Long Branch since 1974. He was predeceased by his first wife, Adelina Silva in 1987. Surviving is his wife, Leonor Moco Silva; two daughters, Luci Pereira of West Long Branch and Marisa Silva of Long Branch; two sisters, Maria Alexandere and Adelina Silva both of Portugal and 3 grandchildern, Andrew, Michael and Jianna Pereira.

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch on Wednesday from 2-4 pm. Interment will be in Sao Mamede cemetery, Sao Mamede Portugal. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 258-260 Morris Ave., Long Branch, NJ 07740.
