Joan A. Smith, 65, of Woodbine, died on Sunday, November 24, 2002 at her home. She was born in Trenton and moved here in 1980 from Trenton. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodbine.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip; her son, Kevin Earl Jackson of Seattle, WA; her step son, Phillip Mitchell of Woodbine; her step daughter, Jackie Fitzpatrick of Cape May Court House; her two brothers, Lawrence Jackson of New York, and Donald Jackson of Burlington, NJ; her two sisters, Frances Campbell and Rosalie Smyth, both of Willingboro; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Anthony Jackson and Tyrone Jackson; stepson, Rickie Toney; brother, George Green; and two sisters, Phyllis Jackson and Alice Jackson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Horne's Temple First Born Church of the Living God, 315 Washington Avenue, Woodbine, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery.

Snyder, Mary Lucille

Mary Lucille Snyder (nee Golden) of Cherry Hill, NJ age 51 years. Died suddenly on 9/1/01 at JFK Hospital Cherry Hill Division, Cherry Hill, NJ. Beloved wife of the late William. Dear daughter of Rose (nee Panella) and the late Robert Golden.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mrs. Snyder was a longtime resident of Cherry Hill, NJ. Mrs. Snyder was a Special Education Assistant at Johnson School in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral on Thursday 9/6/01 from 8:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W. Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Interment New St. Mary's cemetery, Bellmawr. Visitation and vigil service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening after 7 PM.

Sordelline, Salvatore F.

SALVATORE F. SORDELLINE of Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 20th, 2003. He was 82 years of age. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Leisuretowne for the past 1 ½ years moving there from Westampton, NJ where he had lived for 16 years. A Ret. Sanitation Engineer with the Dept. of Sanitation in West Hempstead, NY and a Ret. Platform Supervisor with Railway Express in NY he retired in 1973. He is also a Veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy. He is the beloved husband of Evelyn J. (Nee Bravico) Sordelline and the loving father of Ronnie of Miami, FL, Sally Ann Quigley of Mt. Laurel, NJ and Lynda D'Allessandro of West Hempstead, NY. He is also survived by his 6 Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd. Medford, NJ (Rt. 541). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Eucharist in Tabernacle, NJ. Interment will follow in the B.G. Wm. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cem. in Arneytown, N.J. Memorial donations may be made to the WWII Memorial Fund C/O P.O. Box 1542 Medford, N.J. 08055-1542.

SPENCE, Eleanor S.

(nee Selfridge) On March 11, 2004. Of Haddon Heights. Age 85. Beloved wife of the late James R. Spence. Loving mother of Anne Paul (Bill) of Sugar Land, TX, Barbara Hoffman (Tony) of Blackwood, Cynthia Schmidt (Steve) of Westampton, and Caren O'Shea (Tom) of Haddon Hts. Devoted grandmother of Sarah, Amy, Emily, James, Steven, Leslie, Nora, Jason, Cindy and Tommy. Dear sister of John Selfridge of Lancaster, PA,sister in law of Frank Spence of Englewood, FL.Preceeded in death by her sisters Elizabeth and Ruth Selfridge and Jane Frank. Mrs. Spence served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army during WWII. She was a Registered Nurse at Cooper Hospital in Camden, then a school nurse at Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden for 27 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Collingswood, and was formerly President and Secretary of the PTA in Haddon Twp and a former Girl Scout Leader in Haddon Twp. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 10-11am Monday at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. Funeral Service 11am Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment Bethel Memorial Park, Pennsauken. If desired, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 201 Dayton Ave., Collingswood, NJ 08108.

SPENCER, Ed

"The Kite Man"On April 9, 2004 of Marlton. Age 72. Beloved husband of Nancy (nee Muller) Loving father of Tracey Peak of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, Scott Spencer of Collingswood, NJ and Ellen Schneider of Thorofare, NJ. Dear grandfather of Sarah and Christopher Peak. Mr. Spencer is a Veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict, and worked for the Evesham Twp School District. Sperlak, Sr., Stephen

Stephen Sperlak, Sr., 75, of Rio Grande, NJ, died peacefully Sunday, December 21, 2003, at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1928 to the late Anthony and Mary Ellen Sperlak, the twelfth of fourteen children. Stephen was a respected marine surveyor of commercial fishing vessels. He retired as Lieutenant from the United States Coast Guard, and served in both the United States Navy (USS Franklin D. Roosevelt) and Coast Guard from 1946 to 1977. Serving as Chief Engineer in Cape May, numerous buoy tenders in the Pacific Ocean and as resident inspector in Sun Shipyard in Philadelphia. He spent many years inspecting and certifying USCG lighthouses throughout the East Coast.

During his career in the USCG, Stephen was considered one of their top marksmen; distinguished in both rifle and pistol and qualifying for the 1960 Olympics. He was a life member of the Bayshore Sportsman's Club, an avid aerobatics aviator, a member of the Quiet Birdmen, a Harley Davidson enthusiast and member of the Blue Knights.

Stephen worked on the Blue Ribbon panel for Middle Township Planning Board and served for many years on its' Zoning Board. He supported many causes and charities, and was known by all for his love of "kids".

His is survived by his two sons: Stephen, Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Estell Manor, NJ, and Stanley R. and grandsons, Michael and Joseph of Cape May Court House, NJ, and their mother, Valerie nee Trolli of Cape May, NJ; brother: Stanley of Rocky Ford, CO; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas and his spouse and friend, Patricia Ann nee McGough.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral services on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at 3:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, where they may call 2:00 to 3:00 PM. Interment will be private at the Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the American Lung Association, Southern New Jersey Regional Office, 109 South Main St., Suite 18, Cranbury, NJ 08512-3174.

Spina, John

SPINA, JOHN (1913-2004) Beloved husband of 67 years to the recently deceased Cornelia Parker (Pelly) Spina. He was virtually a lifelong resident of Voorhees Twp. (Ashland), moving there after his childhood days in nearby Woodcrest. He lived on Evesham Ave. for 66 years.

He is survived by his daughter Rose Margaret (Peggy) LeClare (Carmen) of Winslow and his sons James (Isabell) of Voorhees and Joseph (Denise) of Clementon, 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many good friends. He is also survived by his dear sister, Rose Pelly (also of Voorhees Twp).

He was a Lead Welder at New York Ship during WWII, building the Battleship U.S.S. New Jersey and others. Later he went into Mechanical Contracting, affiliated with Local Union 322, where for several years he was a Trustee for the Health and Welfare and Pension Plans. Later he became a Plumbing Construction Code Inspector for Voorhees Twp., (for 30 years). He also was an Inspector for Cherry Hill, Moorestown, Medford Lakes, Hamilton Twp, Galloway Twp, Egg Harbor Twp and Brigantine.

He had been an elected member of the Voorhees Twp Board of Education and a past member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.

He was an accomplished gardener and Boatsman holding a Captains License. His pride and joy was his 53 foot Chris Craft, "Miss Chris."

He was among the few remaining elders that through hard work and dedication, helped shape this area into what it is today.

He is a member of the Ashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a member of Ashland's Oldtimers Group.

John loved being surrounded by family and friends, calling them daily. He was a great influence and Patriarch of the family. He will be sadly missed by many. Cornelia went home to be with the Lord May 7, 2003, today after their brief separation, John joined her to spend eternity together.

Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Friday from 10-11:30 AM at the Bradley Funeral Home, Rt. 73 South and Evesham Rd in Marlton. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment Harleigh cemetery in Camden.

St. John, Gerald

Gerald St. John, 72, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rochester, NY and moved to this area over 50 years ago when he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a drug and alcohol counselor for Cape Counseling. He was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Sea Isle City. He was a well known local entertainer.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine; his children, Thomas and his wife, Jodie, Kevin and his wife, Shelly, Agnes, John and his wife, Sharon, and Gerald and his wife, Laurianne; his sister, Dorothy; 12 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be said on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 43rd and Landis Avenue, Sea Isle City, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

Stack, Thomas J.

Thomas J. Stack, 91, of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at Crest Haven Nursing Home. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in this area since 1986 after moving from Cherry Hill. He was a retired mail carrier for the United States Navy during World War II, delivering mail to the troops. He was a life member of the American Legion. He and his late brother, Jack, co-owned the Manoa Beverage Company for ten years and the Shelter Haven for twenty five years.

He is survived by his sister, Sister Mary Borgia of St. Joseph's Villa, Flourtown, PA; three nieces, Nancy Lomonaco of Cape May Court House, Janet Nichols of West Chester, PA, and Gail O'Dea of Cape May Court House; great nephews, John Lomonaco, who loved his uncle and was thought of and loved as a son by Mr. Stack, Patrick O'Dea, and Richard Nichols; and a great niece, Gwen Accardi; and Barbara Nicholson, who lovingly cared for him for ten years.

Funeral Liturgy will be said at noon on Thursday, April 29, 2004 at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 99th Street and Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, where friends may call at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross cemetery, Yeadon, PA. Memorials may be made in the form of Mass Cards or to a favorite charity.

Stackhouse, Morris D

On March 20, 2004 of Moorestown, NJ age 84 yrs. Devoted father of Stephanie R. Stackhouse. Loving uncle of Joanne Zagorski and her husband Tom and Sandra Fretz. Dear Cousin of Peter Austin. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Mr. Stackhouse served in the US Army retiring with over 20 years of service and attained the rank of Sergeant (SP5). He served in World War II as well as the Korean Conflict. Mr. Stackhouse was awarded the Bronze Star for his military efforts in the Philippine Islands during World War II. Mr. Stackhouse was a proud member of the Maple Shade VFW Post 2445. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at 12PM at the METTS-POPIOLEK FUNERAL HOME, 400 Clements Bridge Road, Barrington, NJ 08007. Funeral Services and interment will be held at 2:30PM at Bgr. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. If desired the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of South Jersey 1415 State Hwy No. 70 E. Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.

Stiles Sr., David A.

DAVID A. STILES SR. passed away on August 31, 2002 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in W. Reading, PA. He was 75 yrs. of age. Born and raised in Phila., Pa, he resided in Birdsboro, Pa for the past 2 years moving there from Shipley Road in Phila., PA where he resided for over 40 years. He is a graduate of W. Phila. High School and served proudly in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Helena CA-75. A custom kitchen designer for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Phila., PA he retired in 1991 after 40 years of service. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years for Troop 95, a member of the VFW Posts #7791 & #20, the St. Alban-Swain Masonic Lodge #527 F&AM, the Scottish Rite and the USS Helena Organization. Beloved husband of Mildred A. Stiles (Nee Richardson) of Birdsboro, PA. Devoted father of Diane Garey and husband Chris of Birdsboro and David A. Stiles Jr. of Phila., PA., loving Pop-Pop to Nicholas Garey. He will be sadly missed by his brother Charles J. Stiles of Phila., PA and his sister Marie Holliday of Cherry Hill, NJ. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the John F. Fluehr & Sons, Inc. 3301-15 Cottman Ave. Phila., PA where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in the Mt. Moriah Cem. in Phila., PA.
