Albano, Marie "Angie"

Marie “Angie” Albano, age 87, of Shrewsbury died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at St Barnabas Hospice Center, Long Branch. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch and a member of their Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Long Branch and Holy Trinity Seniors and was socially active with the residents of The Sycamore assistant living facility, Shrewsbury. Her greatest joys in life were her daughters, son in law, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; as well as being a lifelong Yankee fan. Born in Long Branch, she had lived in West Long Branch for 50 years before moving to Shrewsbury 5 years ago. She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Albano in 1996, 4 brothers Alphonse, Ralph, Frank “Clint”, and Dominick Sorrentino, 2 sisters, Mary Calabretta and Rose Sorrentino.

Surviving are 2 daughters and a son in law, Agnes and Paul D’Angelo, West Long Branch; Arlene Albano, Long Branch; a brother, Joseph Sorrentino, West Long Branch; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, ToniAnne and Corin Lucey, Michael and Joanna D’ Angelo, and Gina D’Angelo and Alan Smith; and 2 great grandchildren, Devin Anthony and Makenna Lucey.

Visitation will be on Friday, from 2-4, 7-9 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third) in Long Branch. Funeral Saturday at 8:30 am from the funeral home followed by a 9:30 am Mass at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will be at Mt Carmel cemetery, West Long Branch. Albertelli, Guido (Guy)

Guido (Guy) Albertelli, 92, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at home after a brief illness and hospitalization.

Guy is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Elaine; his son, Guy, Jr. and his wife, Ruth; his step children, Elaine and her husband, Jim Lesher, Theresa and her husband, Jose Valentin, Lawrence and Anthony Grillo; three grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren, one great grandson; and one step great granddaughter.

Guy served in the Navy during World War II. He had been a printer prior to serving in the military. He was a wine salesman for many years until retiring.

Guy loved flea markets and craft fairs. He enjoyed many seasons at Driftwood Campground, where he met his wife, Elaine. In his last few years, he thoroughly loved gardening.

Guy and Elaine enjoyed their family, close friends, but especially, each other.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, January 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, Parkway and East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Albrecht, Carol L.

Carol L. Albrecht, 65, of Cape May Court House, died on Thursday, August 16, 2001, at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Syracuse, NY, she had lived here since 1970 after moving from Pittsburgh, PA. She was a Special Services Teacher for the Cape May County Special Services School.

Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, she was an inspiration to all who knew her, and encouraged passion and creativity in life, even in the smallest of tasks. She loved gourmet cooking, throwing pottery and Paris. Her gardens are flourishing proof of her magical touch.

She is survived by her children, Deborah W. Black of Cape May Court House, and Taylor "Tad" Black and his wife, Stacey, of Calabagas, CA; her brothers, Beverly Hastings Lapham and his wife, Liz, of Meredith, NH, and Taylor Ward Lapham and his wife, Joan, of Brewerton, NY; her grandchildren, Meggan Staley, Jared Ordenes Black, and Aden Black; and many loving friends.

As gardening was a longtime love, a memoriam will be held in her gardens on Wednesday, August 22, 2001, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where all her friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that something is planted in your garden in Carol's memory.

Albrecht, Samuel Henry

Samuel Henry Albrecht, 82, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Born in North Wildwood to the late Lewis P. and the late Elizabeth (Henry) Albrecht, he was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House and was the owner of Kennedy Sporting Goods in Stone Harbor. He was in the 108th Airborne in the Army Air Force in World War II. He enjoyed fishing and was a history buff, especially the Civil War.

Mr. Albrecht is survived by his wife, Sally Lou (Brown) Albrecht; his children, Diane Albrecht Hughes, G. Raymond Brown, III, Scott Wilson Brown, and Marianne Brown Tozer; his grandchildren, Brian Keith, Kori Cirillo, Erin Hughes, Trevor Hamann, Tiffany Tozer, Melissa Tozer, and Kimberly, Kathryn, Kristina, and Julia Brown; his great grandchildren, Evan, Paige, Brandon, Tyler, and Brian Jr.; his brother, Lewis P. Albrecht; and his sister, Laura Cain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rae Albrecht; his daughter, Kori Lynn Hamann; his brother, William Albrecht, Sr.; and his sisters, Louella Myers and Betty Cutlip.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House. Albrecht, Dorothy Delp

Dorothy Delp Albrecht, 81, of Cape May Court House, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on August 3, 2002. Born June 13, 1921 the daughter of Phoebe and Oscar Delp, the sister of Margaret and Walter, and the wife of 50 years to William F. Albrecht, Sr., predeceased June 3, 1990, she was an area resident all her life. Dorothy and her husband owned and operated William F. Albrecht, Sr. Excavating for 23 years and sold the business to their son, William, and son in law, Phillip in 1969. Dot and Bill continued to work for Albrecht and Heun, Inc.

Dorothy, known to everyone as "Mom-Mom", enjoyed dancing, going to the casinos, making Sunday and holiday dinners for her family, and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. She was a gentle woman who loved her family dearly, fighting a courageous battle of cancer with a smile for everyone and trying to comfort her family. Mom-Mom showed a side of her that truly amazed her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, William F., Jr. and Sophia Albrecht, her daughter and son in law, Patricia and Phillip G. Heun, Sr.; her devoted grandchildren, Phillip, Jr. and wife, Deborah Heun, Victoria Hean and fiancée Doug Stocker, Christopher Heun, William A. Albrecht, Michelle Albrecht and fiancée Ben Grothe, Eric and wife, Carolyn Albrecht, Michael Albrecht and friend Shannon DeBarro; and her great grandchildren, Phillip, Heather, and Kristen Heun, Veronica and Zachary Grothe, Will Albrecht, Christine and Olivia Albrecht. Goodbye Mom-Mom, we all love you and will miss you.

DOROTHY C. ALCORN (Nee Hess) of Medford, NJ, went home to be with her Lord on December 26, 2008. She was 93 yrs. of age. Born in Brooklyn, NY she is the daughter of the late Louis J. and Eva E. Hess and the wife of the late Ralph H. Alcorn, Jr. Residing in Medford, she was formerly of Spring Hill, FL. and a former secretary for Clark O’Neal. She is the Beloved Mother of Joan Ellen Francis and her husband Larry of Medford, NJ and the loving Grandmother of Kimberly Bray and her husband Dan of Medford Lakes, NJ and Karen Rees and her husband Chris of Medford, NJ. She is survived by her sister Beatrice Carr of New York. Also her 6 Great Grandchildren Caitlin, Kenny, Colleen, Christopher, Emily and Jack. A Celebration of her life was held on Monday at 4:00 PM at the Fellowship Alliance Chapel, 199 Church Rd. Medford, NJ. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Alexander, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Alexander, age 88 years, of Cape May Court House, NJ, formerly of Dennis Township, NJ, died on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was a Front Desk Stenographer with the Philadelphia Inquirer and retired in 1980 after 25 years of service. Elizabeth shall be remembered by her family and friends. Interment and services are private.

Alexander, J. Robert

ALEXANDER, J. Robert, of Marlton, NJ, passed away on February 17, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Marie (nee Cosden), and the loving father of William Alexander (Dorothy Borresen), David Alexander, Jennifer Zonies (Ralph), and Carolyn McCormick (Scott). He is also survived by his grandchildren John, Michael, Bryan, Matthew, Abigail, Caroline, Lauren, Alex, Will, and Grace. Mr. Alexander was a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, serving as a pilot during WWII. He was a graduate of Drexel University and worked as an engineer for Link-Belt Corp. until his retirement. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 2:00 pm on Sat. February 27th at the Haddonfield Methodist Church, 29 Warwick Rd. Haddonfield, NJ. where Mr. Alexander was a longstanding member. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the music department of Haddonfield Methodist Church.

On April 2, 2005 of Marlton. Age 78. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Peterson) Loving father of Nancy (Angel) Hernandez of Marlton and Barbara (Steve) Rosenfeld of Cherry Hill. Devoted grandfather of Deanna Hernandez, Michael and Ryan Rosenfeld. Dear brother of Frank Alexander of Daytona Beach, FL. Mr. Alexander was a Veteran of the Army during World War II. He was an electrician with Local 3 in New York City, a member of the American Legion in New York, the Marlton Senior Citizens and St Joan of Arc Church in Marlton. Alexenberg, Roland "Sonny"

Roland "Sonny" Alexenberg, 79, of Woodbine, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia. Born in Woodbine to the late Samuel and Ella (Decker) Alexenberg, he was a lifetime resident here. He was an Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, in which he was a Prisoner of War for 611 days. He was Acting Chief of Police in Woodbine, as well as a fireman. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 6257, and the New Jersey State Firemen's Association. He was president of the Woodbine School Board, chairperson of the Cape May County Parks Commission, chairman of Open Spaces, and a member of the Cape May County Planning Board and Woodbine Municipal Authority.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sophia (Stanle) Alexenberg; his daughter, Gerri Schwartz; and his granddaughter, Elysia Sari Schwartz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where relatives and friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery.

Alexenberg, Sophia

Sophia Alexenberg, age 88, of Woodbine, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008. Born in Millville, NJ to the late George and Natalia Schoch Stanle, she was a lifetime resident of Woodbine.

Sophia "Sophie" is survived by her daughter, Gerri Schwartz; her granddaughter, Elysia Sari Lakocinski; and her great granddaughter, Averi Elise Lakocinski. Sophie is also survived by three sisters: Estelle DeCinque, Jean Thomson and Helen S. Vallese, and serveral nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.

ALLEBORN, John J. 'Jack' on February 8, 2009, of Voorhees NJ, formerly of Philadelphia and Cape May NJ. Age 77. Beloved husband of Dorothy Alleborn (nee Rovnan). Loving father of Jack Alleborn and his wife, Lori and Nancy S. and her husband, Robert Egler. Dear grandfather of John, Amy, Kristina, Bob Jr., Matthew, Tricia, Susie, Michael and Cindy and great grandfather of Maddie and Finn. Mr. Alleborn was a former member of St. Augustine's Church, Phila. He was owner and operator of Marcis Wire Works, Phila. for over 60 years. Allen, Helena E.

Helena E. Allen, 76, a former resident of Cape May Court House, died on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 in Mississippi. She and her husband, James T. Allen, owned and operated a deli here from 1966 t0 1972. She was born in Newfield, NJ, the daughter of the late Herbert and Bessie Smith Chandler.

She was a member of the Border Spring Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS.

She is survived by her husband, James T. Allen; two sons, Dennis C. (Melinda) of Charlottesville, VA, and James Eugene (Leanne) of Cape May Court House; a daughter, Nancy K. Harper (Roger) of Columbus, MS; a brother, Robert M. Chandler and his wife, Gladys of Belleplain; two sisters, Pauline Richardson of Cape May Court House, and Esther M. (George) Ewing of Cold Spring; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cape May Court House.
