Bowman, Jr., John D., 86, of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, March, 24, 2007 in the Crest Haven Nursing Home, Cape May Court House. Born in Philadelphia he has lived here since 1967, moving permanently here in 1997, coming from Secane, PA. He was a machinist with Boeing Vertol and retired in 1986 after 30 years of service, a Navy veteran of WW II, a member & Trustee of the Secane Baptist Church, an avid bicyclist & reader, enjoyed the Cape May County Zoo and walking on the beach. He is survived by his wife Merle of Cape May Court House, his son James (Cynthia) of Glen Riddle, PA, two daughters Mary (Juan) Marquez of Port Clinton, OH & Carolyn (Donald) McIntyre of Bethel Park, PA, nine grand children, twelve great grand children and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his two sons John D., III, William and his sister Dorothy Filer. Boyd, Clarence Edward

Clarence Edward Boyd, 56, of Lakewood, formerly of Long Branch, died May 29, 2006 at home.

Born in Long Branch, he attended the Long Branch Public School system and also Brookdale Community College. After graduating barber school in New York City, he worked as a barber at the Coliseum Barber Shop in Lakewood, also working in Monmouth, Ocean, Essex and Burlington Counties. He was a chef at the Atlantic City Racetrack in the early the 90's.

He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Ida Mae Boyd and two brothers, Franklin and David.

He leaves behind his brother Joseph Boyd, Buffalo, NY; two sisters, Gloria Boyd, Washington, DC and Christine Boyd, Long Branch.

His funeral service will be held, Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 6 PM at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third), Long Branch.

Boyd, Franklin J.

Franklin Boyd age 61 of Long Branch died Thursday November 14, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. He was a construction worker and had owned Frank's Furniture, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, he was a life resident.

He was a great boxer in the late 50's through early 60's under the sponsorship of IAMA Club, Long Branch. During his career he won a Golden Glove award. He was considered on of the top contenders in the shore area.

He was predeceased by his companion Emma J. Ivory who died on Thursday also, a son Darryl, his parents, Benjamin and Ida Mae Boyd, and a brother David.

Surviving are 2 sons, Franklin Boyd Jr, Rodney Ivory, 4 daughters, Tracey, Felicia, and Darlene Boyd and Selene Ivory, 2 brothers, Joseph and Clarence Boyd, 2 sisters, Christine and Gloria Boyd, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren

Relatives and friends may call at the Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin Aves, Long Branch on Saturday November 23, from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at White Ridge cemetery, Eatontown.

Boyd, Stacey M

STACEY MARGUERITE BOYD of Shamong, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 5th, 2007 at the Children's Hospital of Phila. She was 20 yrs. of age. Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, she is a life long resident of Medford, NJ moving to Shamong 3 yrs. ago. A graduate of Shawnee High School Class of 2005, Stacey was very involved in MYAA where she played Soccer, Basketball, Soft Ball and worked the concession stand. She is the Beloved daughter of Kevin & Ella Boyd of Shamong, NJ, and the loving sister of Scott Mitchell Boyd of Shamong, NJ and Granddaughter of Leah & Donald Skinner of Cape Coral, FL. DORIS G. BOYD (Nee Fowler), of Tabernacle, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 at Samaritan Hospice Center in Mt. Holly, NJ. She was 93 yrs. of age. Born in Billerica, MA, she is the Beloved wife of 71 yrs. of Howard P. Boyd and the Loving Mother of Gwendolyn Stiles of Gainesville, FL and Stanley P. Boyd of Tabernacle, NJ and also Grandmother of 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Due to the winter storm, the Memorial service scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19th, at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. George E. Boyd, Jr., 44, of Cape May Court House, died on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at home. He was born in Cape May Court House and was a lifetime resident here.

He is survived by his father, George E. Boyd, Sr.; his sons, George Harvey and Omar Harvey; his sisters, Cheryl B. Butler, Lisa Boyd, Hope Giles, Bonnie McKall, and Kathy Williams; his grandmother, Janie Boyd; his companion, Cheryl Cleary, and her daughter, Andrea Cleary, and her grandchildren, Keon Atkinson, Chanel Ramirez, and Taina Ramirez.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19 at 12 noon at Christ Gospel Church, George and Anna Streets, Whitesboro, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Boyd, Sr., George E.

George E. Boyd, Sr., 67, of Cape May Court House, NJ, died on Thursday, December 26, 2002, at his home. He was born in Clarkton, NC, and lived here since 1955. He was a member of the Sandy Pines Baptist Church in Clarkton. He was a retired truckdriver for Burcham Trucking Company in Millville after 25 years of service. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his daughters: Cheryl B. Butler, Lisa Boyd, Hope Giles, Bonnie McCall, and Kathy Williams; mother: Janie Boyd; three brothers: Roosevelt, Andrew, and Aaron Boyd; five sisters: Emma Mitchell, Alice Richardson, Ruth Beatty, Hilda Coleman, and Naomi Howard; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Moore Boyd and a son, George E., Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30, 2002, at 12:00 noon, at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, Rte. 9 and Main St., where friends may call at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Fairview cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.

Patricia M. Boye, (Nee Mulqueen), passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2002 at her home in Medford Lakes, NJ. She was 50 years of age. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she has resided in Medford Lakes, NJ for the past 8 years, moving there from Tabernacle, NJ. She was President of Boye Enterprises in Medford Lakes, NJ a construction business which she operated with her husband. She attended Dickinson College from 1968-70 and graduated from the College of NJ in Trenton in 1998. She was a long time member of Holy Eucharist where she was a member of the choir, a cantor and a Eucharistic Minister. She is the beloved wife of Glenn W. Boyle, Anna Marie. (nee Boharsik) Age 69. On June 7, 2007 of Marlton, NJ. Loving wife of Joseph P. Boyle Jr. for fifty one years. Caring mother of Theresa Ann Boyle of Chatsworth, NJ and Joseph P. Boyle III and his wife Patti Lynn of Mt.Laurel, NJ. Loving daughter of Stella Horocofsky of Cape May, NJ. Dear sister of Rose Ann Sharkey, Joan Ridgeway, Cherylann Priest, Thomas Boharsik and John Boharsik. Beloved grandmother of Kelly, Melissa, Kenneth, Kathleen, Aubrey, and Jonathan. Great grandmother of Chelsea, Vincent and Rhys. Ann graduated in 1955 from the Little Flower High School, Philadelphia, PA. Branin, Edward Reed

BRANIN, Edward Reed, a popular Cherry Hill educator and a resident of Cherry Hill since 1964, passed away on September 30, 2007. Age 86. Mr. Branin is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen, 2 daughters, Bonnie Traynor and Kim Branin, 2 sons, Andrew and Thomas, 2 sisters, Francis Bergen and Lois Harris, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Branin was born and raised in Ocean City and worked in Florida and Phila. prior to entering the US NAVY shortly after the attack on Pearl harbor. After boot camp in Great Lakes IL, he volunteered for submarine service and attended submarine school in New London CT. During WWII, he was active in the Pacific area on a number of different submarines from the old style 'S' boats to the modern fleet type boats until the Japanese surrender in 1945.

After discharge he entered Trenton State College and after graduating began his teaching career in Atlantic City at Central and Chelsea Jr. High schools. While teaching in Atlantic City, he and a former shipmate founded the National Submarine Veterans of World War II and served as its first President. The organization is devoted to perpetuating the memory of the submarine men who lost their lives while serving on submarines during WW II.

Mr. Branin received his Master's degree from Rutgers Univ. He was active at the State Level in the NJ Education Association while teaching and later in the NJ State Principal's Association. When he lived in Northfield, Atlantic County, he was active in the Lion's Club and after moving to Absecon joined the Kiwanis Club, eventually serving as President, prior to moving to Cherry Hill.

Mr. Branin became Supervising Principal in Absecon upon leaving Atlantic City, serving the Absecon Schools for 8 yrs. as its only administrator. He was also Sunday School Superintendent for Absecon Presbyterian Church.

After leaving Absecon for Cherry Hill, Mr. Branin served as an Elementary Principal in a number of elementary schools and closed out his 23 years in Cherry Hill as a high school Assistant Principal at Cherry Hill East H.S. He was chairman of the Sex Education Committee that developed the K-12th grade program. This program served as a model for many school districts throughout New Jersey. Mr. Branin was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church serving 2 full terms as deacon and frequently an usher.

Brass, Clifford F.

Clifford Franklin Brass, age 79, of Medford Lakes, NJ, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at his home. Born Aug. 1, 1929 in New York City, New York, Cliff was the son of the late Gizzelle and Gene Brass. He was predeceased by his wife Jean Brass. Cliff graduated from PA. Military College and proudly served his country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Cliff was stationed in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War where he trained troops in marksmanship. After serving in the army, Cliff was employed by Buffalo Tank Inc., a subsidiary of Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Jacksonville, FL. He and his family eventually moved to Medford Lakes in 1961. Cliff was later employed by GPU Energy as a Senior Buyer for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station in Forked River, NJ. After retirement, Cliff served as a Crossing Guard for the Medford Lakes Police Department. Cliff was an upland game hunter and fishing enthusiast. He loved the outdoors and volunteered at the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. He was a skilled marksman and member of the Telco Sportsmen's Club. Cliff and his wife Jean were avid golfers and long-time members of the Medford Lakes Country Club. Cliff played the violin and was devoted to his music. Surviving are his daughters Valerie McDevitt of Medford Lakes and Lynn Brass-Smith of Belvidere, NJ, and five grandchildren; Devon, Dillon and Daniel McDevitt, and Helen and Emily Smith. BRATHWAITE, JUANITA, on October 14, 2009, of Moorestown, NJ. Formerly of Cherry Hill. Age 92. Wife of the late LaMontro C. Jones. Survived by her cousins, nieces and nephews. BRAY, Nora S. (nee Spence) on April 19, 2005, Nora S. of Marlton, lifelong of South Jersey. Age 76. Beloved wife of Donald H. Bray. Loving mother of Richard A. Bray, Joan L. Jensen, David C. Brick, Eleanore S.

Eleanore (Spitzner) Brick, 92, of Cape May Court House, died on Thursday, June 28, 2006 at the Ocean View Center. She was born February 2, 1914 in Battle Creek, MI, married Dr. John K. Brick on December 21, 1935, and moved to Cape May Court House in 1936. She is survived by two sons, John C. and his wife, Clare of Linwood and Bruce and his wife, Joann of Winfield, WV; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brick served as dental assistant and secretary for 25 years in her husband's dental practice until their retirement in 1983. She was active in the Women's Community Club of Cape May Court House and was Treasurer for 20 years. She participated in their annual one act plays. She also was a volunteer for 15 years at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital and a member of the Cape May Historical Society where she and her husband served as guides at the museum. Mrs. Brick was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House and a choir member for 25 years.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, July 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist cemetery, Cape May Court House.

Brick, Dr. John K.

Dr. John K. Brick, D.D.S., 96, of Cape May Court House, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 10, 2009. Dr. Brick and his wife, Eleanor moved to Cape May Court House in 1935, beginning his practice of dentistry which lasted over 48 years.

Dr. Brick helped organize the first Chamber of Commerce in Cape May Court House and became its President. It was in this group that the idea for a county hospital originated and became the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Dr. Brick was appointed to the active medical staff serving for 25 years. It was at this same time there was a need for support of boy's activities and a union was made and the Boy Scout Council was formed. Dr. Brick served in many positions through the years including over 50 years as a member of the Executive Board of what is now known as the Southern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Brick was awarded the Silver Beaver for his work on behalf of the boys. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Mechanics and Laborers Building & Loan Association and served as president for ten years until it was acquired by Cape Savings Bank. He was the last living charter member of the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club and was a life member of Kiwanis International. He also served as the club treasurer for 25 years. Dr. Brick was a member of the County, State and National Dental Associations.

His personal relationship with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, was always evident. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cape May Court House. He served for many years as a member of the Board of Deacons and as Chairman for many years and sang in the Church choir.

After retirement from his dental practice, he served as a guide at the Cape May County Museum for 16 years.

Dr. Brick was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor. He is survived by his sons, John C. (Clare) of Linwood and Bruce W. (Joanne) of Winfield, WV; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Brick, Samuel A.

BRICK, Samuel A. on March 8, 2007, lifelong of Marlton. Age 83. Beloved husband of Alice (nee Whiteway) Brick. Loving father of Samuel A. Brick, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Romney WV and James W. Brick and his wife, Audrey of Medford NJ. Dear grandfather of 4 wonderful grandchildren, Billy, Ian, Emily and Brian and dear brother of Harriet McKelway of Winchester VA and Mary Logan of Ewing NJ. Mr. Brick was the last of the Brick family to be born and raised in Marlton since 1748. A three year US ARMY veteran of WWII, Mr. Brick served in the European Theatre of operations, and he was a patriot all of his life. He was a retired sales representative for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 25 years serving the South Jersey area. An active member and former past president of the Evesham Historical Society, Mr. Brick assisted in the restoration of the Society's Innskeep House. He was also a Republican County Committeeman for 12 years. Bridgeman of Mt. Laurel and Karen M. Sheerin and her husband Michael of Marlton. Also survived by his grandmother, Alma I. Wicker of Sicklerville, NJ and his ' Loving Friend' Lois Nicoletti of Mt. Laurel. Relatives and friends invited to the viewing on Wednesday from 8:45-10: 45 AM at the BRADLEY FUNERAL HOME, Rt 73 & Evesham Rd., Marlton. (856)983-1005. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM Wednesday at St. Mary's Church, 2001 Springdale Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Patient Initiative Program, C/O The Center for Cancer, 1930 East Rt. 70, V107, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.

Bridgeman, Gale

Gale Bridgeman, 54, of Rio Grande, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at her home. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Patrick and Elizabeth (Sommerville) Bridgeman, she moved to Rio Grande seven years ago from North Wildwood. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Moody, III and his wife, Ami of Rio Grande, and Damian Moody of Rio Grande; her sisters, Betty Taylor of Cape May, and Sue McTamney of Philadelphia, PA; her brother, Patrick J. Bridgeman of Stone Harbor; and three grandchildren, Emma, Amanda, and Andrew.

Funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, 1600 Route 22 East, Union, NJ 07083.
