Connor, R. Eileen

CONNOR, R. EILEEN, AGE 88, of Stone Harbor, NJ, died on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at the North Cape Center. She was born in Philadelphia and summered here since 1921 and moved permanently in 1943. She was an active member of St. Paul's Church. She was a member of the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Auxilary; the American Legion of Stone Harbor and a graduate of St. Mary's Academy. She retired as a secretary for the Middle Township Board of Education. There are no immediate survivors. Funeral Liturgy will be said on Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at 9:30 am at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 9901 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ where friends may call at 9 am. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Philadelphia, Pa. Mass cards would be appreciated.

Connors, Thomas J.

CONNORS, Thomas J. on March 15, 2007, of Sickerville, formerly of Oaklyn and Cherry Hill. Age 52. Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee McDermott). Loving father of Joseph, Thomas, Jr. and the late Tracy Joy. Dear son of Barbara Connors (nee Kerly) and the late Joseph Connors and dear brother of Timothy, Sean, Frank 'Casey', Joseph, Micki Barilotti, Colleen King, Kellie Sirois, Karen Allen and the late Terrance. Mr. Connors was a tractor trailer driver for Cardinal Logistics and Home Depot. He enjoyed fishing and horseshoes. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Monday from 6-8pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 and Evesham Rd. Marlton where a Funeral Service will be held at 8pm Monday. Interment private. Connors, James "Tim"

James "Tim" Connors, 79, of Avalon Manor, NJ, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the Transitional Care Unit of Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Thomas J. and Bridget Conway Connors. Tim was a member of the Ironworkers Local Union #401 of Philadelphia, PA, had worked for the Otis Elevator Company, and had owned the Eledore Company. He was a member of the Avalon Manor Improvement Association. He served in the USCG during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa C. (DeMeo) Connors; two sons: Timothy and Thomas; four brothers: Robert and wife, JoAnn; William and wife, Karol; John and wife, Christine; and Joseph and wife, Georgie; four sisters: Margaret Plunkett; Mary Hober and husband, Nicholas; Elizabeth O'Connor and husband, Robert; and Joanne Hogan and husband, James. He is also survived by other cousins, nephews, nieces including Sherry Fistere (Luke); Denise Dunlop (Michael) and Rene SalDutti and other in-laws.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ, where friends may visit 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Transitional Care Unit of Crest Haven, 12 Moore Road, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, or the Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Rt. 9 North, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.

Conover, Henrietta P.

HENRIETTA P. CONOVER (Nee Paetzold), of Berlin, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2008. She was 84 yrs. of age. Born in Burlington, NJ, she resided in Berlin for the past 1 yr., she moved there from Medford, Mt. Laurel and Pemberton, NJ. She is the wife of the late Lyman H. Conover. Henrietta was a former Telephone Operator with NJ Bell and AT&T in Burlington, NJ. She was also a member of the Alter & Rosary Society at St. Anne's Church, the Telephone Pioneers and a former 4H Leader. She is the Loving Mother of Lyman H. Conover and his wife Patricia of McDonough, GA, Peggy C. Jerome and her husband Jerry of Pemberton, NJ, Barbara C. Earlen of Berlin, NJ, Nancy C. Givens and her husband Jimmy of Cape Coral, FL, and Steven D. Conover and his wife Katy of Chelmsford, MA. She is also survived by her Daughter-in-law Catie Conover of Syracuse, NY, her brother Bernie Paetzold and his wife Dorothy of Manahawkin, NJ, her Sister-in-Laws V. Patricia Paetzold of Pennsauken, NJ, Virginia Emmons and Jane Yerkes both of Pemberton, her brother-in-law Lynn Conover and his wife Susan of Pemberton, NJ, 11 Grandchildren Christine Conover, Susan Smith, Matthew L. Conover, Terry Jerome, Sean Earlen, Jennifer Dressel, Laura Shreim, Sara Conover, Jimmy W. Givens, Matthew F. Conover and Norgie Conover, 10 Great Grand Children and many nieces and nephews. She is the mother of the late Larry and Cathy Conover. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Sunday from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at of the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ, (609-953-7600). Friends may greet the family on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Church, 22 Trenton Rd., Browns Mills, NJ, where a Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM. Conover, Thomas Everett

Thomas Everett Conover, 81, of Rio Grande, died on Monday, June 3, 2002 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Cape May Court House. He was born in Green Creek and was a lifetime resident of Cape May County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a farmer, a fisherman, and then a heavy equipment operator for the Cape May County Road Department.

Mr. Conover is survived by his son, David, and his wife, Rhonda of Fallston, MD; his brother, Russell of Dias Creek; and his two grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren. His wife, Marjorie, preceded him in death on January 20, 2001.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6 at 12 noon at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association, Southern New Jersey Regional Office, 917 North Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753-6587.

Conover, Arthur C.

Arthur "Jersey" C. Conover, age 86, of Green Creek, NJ, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Cape Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Green Creek, NJ, the son of the late Clinton C. and Lydia B. Doughty Conover and was a lifetime resident here. He was the owner of the Clinton C. Conover Farms having farmed all his life. He raised turkeys and had grown beans for the Seabrook Farms. He was a 1941 graduate of Middle Township High School where he played football and ran track having run in the Penn Relays. He served in the US Navy on the battleship USS New Jersey as a Gunner Third Class on sixteen inch guns on the third turret for the duration of WWII. He was well versed on the history of the USS New Jersey and was a guest of former Governor Christie Whitman when the ship was brought to Camden, NJ. After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Green Creek where he farmed and also played football for the Hornets, a football team in Middle Township. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #44 and the Villas Post #5343 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Art was loyal to his dogs, Kelly and Dakota, often taking them out for their ride.

He is survived by four children: Robert C.; Judy M. (Harry J., Sr.) Cowan; Nancy L. Shivers and John A. (Stephanie Kocher) all of Green Creek; eight grandchildren: Kimberly and Paul Miller; Robert C., Jr. and Meggan Conover; Chad E. Conover; Jacqueline M. and Jimmy McCabe; Harry J., Jr. and Anne Cowan; Arthur R. and Kim Cowan; Josette Marino and Scott D. and Heather Shivers; fourteen great grandchildren; brother in law and sister in law: Joseph (Buddy) and Jane Massey of Washington, NC; two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty seven years, the former Marie Massey, who referred to him as "Boat".

Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 12 Noon at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Avenue, Cape May Court House, NJ where friends may visit from 10 am to Noon. Interment will follow in the Green Creek Methodist cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 N. Shore Road, Absecon, NJ 08201 or the DAV, 1010 Bayshore Road, Del Haven, NJ 08251.

Conover, Jr., James

CONOVER, on April 12, 2003, James Jr. of Mt. Laurel NJ, formerly of Merchantville. Age 72. Beloved husband of Jean A. Conover (nee Sage). He is survived by his children, Robin Logan, Kathleen Conover, Terri Brennan, James Conover and William Conover, 2 brothers, Ronald & Elmer Conover and a sister, Rosemary Bradley. Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A veteran of the US NAVY, Mr. Conover retired 10 years ago from the IBEW Local #98, Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Wednesday from 12-2pm at the Bradley Funeral Home Rt. 73 & Evesham Rd. Marlton where a Funeral Service will be held at 2pm Wednesday. Interment private.

Conrey, Diana L.

Diana L. Conrey, 54, of Cape May, NJ, died on Thursday, January 9, 2003, at the Court House Convalescent Center, Cape May Court House, NJ. She was born in Pottstown, PA, and lived in Philadelphia before moving here five years ago. She was a nurses' assistant. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She was an avid beachgoer and shop-holic.

She is survived by a daughter: Jessica L. Gibboni of Cape May; son: Christian M. Conrey of Rio Grande; and three grandchildren: Maysen Gibboni, Christian Conrey Jr., and Camryn Conrey. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Adrienne Conrey.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, January 14, 2003, at 7:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, where friends may call at 6:30 PM. Interment is private. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 626 North Shore Rd., Absecon, NJ 08201.

Conway, Joseph "Joe" V.

Joseph "Joe" V. Conway, 86, of Avalon, NJ and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully on June 11, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Anna Conway; his parents, Patrick and Margaret; his brothers, James and John; and his great grandson, Charles Joseph Paez. He is survived by his sons: Joseph, Thomas, Eugene, Dennis, and Robert and their wives, Theresa, Elizabeth, Lynda, Lois, and Cyndi; fourteen grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; and his brother: Eugene A.

Joe graduated with highest honors from LaSalle High School of Philadelphia, PA, and attended LaSalle College. He was an active alumnus of the Class of 1938. While a highly regarded executive of the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin Newspaper and later the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority, Joe's proudest accomplishments were his leadership positions involving various civic activities focused on building strong communities: Rhawn Street Day Camp, Winchester Swim Club, Treasurer of the Fifty-Seventh Ward of Philadelphia; Winchester Park Civic Association, City Planning Council of Avalon, and the Lions Club of Avalon. The warm embrace of his Brother Lions was a most cherished memory of Joe's.

The Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, June 19, 2006, at 9:30 AM at Maris Stella Church, 50th St. and Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Av., Cape May Court House, NJ, and on Monday at the church from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre cemetery, Philadelphia, PA on Monday at 2:30 PM. Memorials may be made to the Avalon Lions Club, PO Box 365, Avalon, NJ 08202.

CONWAY, Rita M.

On December 29, 2001, of Pennsauken, formerly of East Camden. Age 85. Beloved wife of the late James P. Conway, Jr. Loving mother of Wilhelmina Morris and Constance Conway both of Pennsauken. Devoted grandmother of Joan Councillor and David Morris, great grandmother of Haley, Jake, Joseph, Ashli, and Katy, great great grandmother of Joe Jr. Mrs. Conway was a salesclerk at Kushner's Hardware in Pennsauken. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing 9:45-10:30am Thursday at St Peter's Church, 43 W. Maple Ave., Merchantville. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am Thursday. Interment Calvary cemetery, Cherry Hill. Arrangements directed by the Bradley Funeral Home, Marlton.

Cook, Dorothy Hickey

DOROTHY HICKEY COOK, 86, of BELMAR, died Saturday, Jan. 31, at home. She was a member of the Belmar First Presbyterian Church. Born in Elizabeth, she lived in East Orange before moving to Belmar in 1952.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence C. Cook Jr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence C. III and Betty Cook; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Larry Hahn, all of Belmar; a nephew, Frederick Fretz of Union; three grandchildren, Dara H. VanPelt, Aaron Hahn and Melissa Cook; and four great-grandchildren.

All services will be private. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements.

Cook, Donna Lee

Donna Lee Cook, 60, of Green Creek, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at her home. Born in Camden to the late Orla Alfred and Kathryn (Prossor) Norcross, she has lived in Green Creek for the last 34 years after living in Dias Creek. She was a volunteer at Cape Regional Medical Center and attended the First Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed crocheting, making afghans for the kids and grandkids. She liked drinking coffee at her daughters' houses.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, Rodger; her longtime companion, Gary Robert Groves, Sr.; her children, Rose Lee McIlhenney, Christine Donna Cook, and Gary Robert Groves, Jr.; her sister, Paula "Chickie" Osterdahl; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Orla "Skip" Alfred Norcross, Jr. and David Norcross; and her sister, Dale Shaw.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 1068 Seashore Road, Cape May, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Tabernacle cemetery, Erma. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

Cook, Lily Masucci

LILY MASUCCI COOK, 79, of LONG BRANCH, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, at home. She was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She loved to cook. Born in Newark, she was a life resident of Long Branch.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Cook, in 1989. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Judi Cook of Long Branch; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and James Hunter of Ohio; and two grandchildren, Alex and Jack.

Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Damiano Funeral Home, Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodbine cemetery.

Cook, Doris E.

Mrs Doris Estelle Cook (nee Gibbbons) was peacefully lifted to heaven on January 11, 2008 from the Wiley Christian Retirement Community, Marlton, N.J.

A long time resident of Rochester, PA and Nutley, NJ, she and her husband retired to the Wiley Community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald M. Cook, Sr. and her 3 sisters.

She was born March 20, 1907 in Freedom, PA and was educated, married and raised her family in Rochester, PA. Her family was very active in the Grace Lutheran Church of Rochester, and served in many other community organizations. A job change moved the Cook family to Nutley, NJ where Doris became an active member of Vincent United Methodist Church, serving in the children and youth programs. She and her husband also became active in the Essex County Children's Shelter and served as supervisors for many years. Always a lover of children, she and her husband faced a new challenge when the mother of their 2 grandsons was killed in a tragic accident and they assumed the responsiibility for raising the boys. In addition to being a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was an active servant giving back to her Lord and the world all that she cherished and believed in so much.

Doris is survived by her 2 sons, Donald Cook, Jr. (his wife Virginia Miller Cook) of Indialantic, FL and Robert Cook of Belleville, NJ, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

A woman of strong faith, Doris celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends in March, 2007. What a joyous occasion for her!

Doris was loved by many people and touched many hearts in her journey through this life. She served as the spiritual leader of her family and her stead-fast faith, indomitable spirit, and her passionate love and joy in her Lord will live with us forever.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday Jan 20, 2008 2pm at the Wiley Church, 99 E. Main St. Marlton NJ. The family will greet friends following the service. If desired, donations may be made in Doris' memory to the Wiley Mission 99 E. Main St. Marlton NJ 08053. Funeral directed by Bradley Funeral Home, Marlton NJ (856) 983-1005.

Margaret A. (nee Martz) Cook AGE: 62

OF: Millsboro, DE & formerly of Claymont, DE

DIED: Wednesday, December 1, 2004 AT Noon on Route 24 BORN IN: Upland, PA resided in Claymont, DE BEFORE MOVING TO Millsboro 21 years ago.

EMPLOYED: Food Lion as a Deli Clerk

SURVIVORS: Wife of 45 years of the late Albert H. Cook, Sr. who died in 1992. She is survived by a son: Albert H. Cook, Jr. (Karen) of Milton, DE; a daughter: Shirley Cook-Cardenas (Michael) of Millsboro, DE; 2 sisters: June McLauren (Lester) of Middletown Twp. PA and Barbara Kushto-Ferrara (Peter) of Middletown Twp. PA; a brother: James Martz of Elkton, MD. She also raised her granddaughter, Christine Brady and grandson Sgt. Robert T. Houser, Jr. She also spent a great deal of time with grandson Matthew H. Cook. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and 11 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Titerence in 1995 and her parents Elmer and Margaret Martz.

SERVICE INFORMATION: Funeral Service will be Tuesday 12:00 Noon from The Minshall-Shropshire Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte#352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment Lawn Croft cemetery, Linwood, PA.

Cook, Jr., Clarence C.

Clarence C. Cook, Jr, age 89 of Belmar died Thursday March 18, 2004 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was the principal for East Orange School System, East Orange retiring 20 years ago. He was a graduate of Rutgers University and received his Masters of Education at Columbia University. He served his country honorable during WWII in the US Army retiring as a Major. He was past commander of the Flotilla 86 Division 8 with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also retired from the Unit Officers US Infantry Association. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belmar. Born in Newark, he had lived in East Orange before coming to Belmar in 1952. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Hickey Cook, who died on January 31.

Surviving are a son and daughter in law, Clarence C. III and Betty Cook, Belmar; a daughter and son in law, Carol and Larry Hahn, Belmar; three grandchildren, Dara H. Van Pelt, Aaron Hahn, and Melissa Cook; and four great grandchildren.

All services will be private. Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of the arrangements.
